Disappointed with Primary Eyecare. I purchased transition lenses that do not change. They have told me that my prescription and progressive lenses are just that way. They did refund me what I paid for the glasses. Today the company Transitions emailed me said that is not true and told me what type of Transition lenses I need. After 21 years, I am looking for a new eye doctor.

Great friendly customer service-minded staff that never have a bad day. Management is excellent as are the doctors.

If you could give them ten stars, I would. Everyone there is friendly and personable. Dr. Engle is great at explaining everything so I can understand it. And he is actually fun, too! I feel like I am in great hands at Primary Eyecare. And its the best place to get great frames for your prescriptions or just for sunglasses. They have all the great brands! Go!

Such an easy and wonderful experience. From setting up the appointment to checking out. I am so impressed with how friendly the staff is and how well this office is run. This is an enjoyable place to visit even if you’re going to the doctor :-). The doctors are quite capable and enjoyable people. The people that help you pick out glass frames are good at what they do and the ladies behind the front desk are also top notch!

I have severe case of dry eye and for years I could not wear contacts since I’ve been seeing Dr. pace my dry eyes have improved 99% and as of today I’m wearing contacts my eyes feel great. Love this place all of the doctors are great.

I have been a patient of this practice for almost 20 years and have been very happy with my experience. Even though it’s not the most convenient location for me now, I find the drive to be worth it given the high level of care I’ve received. I appreciate the efficiency and professionalism of the staff, and Dr. Van Hoven’s wonderful bedside manner.

These guys are Top Notch! Very thorough in their explanations of treatment and Super nice staff. I saw Dr. Ken Young. I never felt rushed and all my questions were answered. I went in for an eye issue I’ve been having and they were able to determine the cause and treatment after a thorough exam. Give these guys a try next time you need to see an eye doctor!

Great overall experience! I simply dread eye exams. The pupil dilation, the touching my eyeball with instruments, and the puff of air are not pleasant in any way. However, today was the exception. I didn’t experience any of those things and I had the best and most thorough eye exam ever. Everyone was pleasant, informative, and helpful. I highly recommend!!!!!

I have been going to Primary Eye care for approximately 19 years and have never considered going anywhere else. You leave their office with a confident feeling that they gave you the most detailed eye exam possible. The doctors and other staff explain in detail what they see going on with your eyes. The optical dept. for new glasses are very professional and helpful. They will tell you the truth if you ask their opinion about how a certain pair of frames look on you. The choices of frames in both style and price is great. Many to choose from and many that match your pocketbook. I would recommend Primary Eye Care to anyone.

A few months ago I had to have cataract surgery. Dr. Young was so informative and made me less anxious about the procedure before and after.Recently, we had an urgent need (during a weekend) and Dr. Young was there for us! Outstanding. This is literally the most pleasant medical office I have ever been to. From the second you walk in, everyone is friendly. I took my son there this morning. The front desk staff, the nurse, the doctor, and the person who adjusted his glasses were all great. Everyone was in a great mood, and seemed happy to be there. I have loved Primary Eyecare Group of Brentwood from my very first visit there. The girls at the front are always so welcoming and helpful, and the girls in the back are efficient and knowledgeable. I have seen Dr. Van Hoven a couple of times and love his personality/bedside manner. I always enjoy seeing him for my annual eye exams. Recently, I was having some issues with my contacts and was quickly seen by Dr. Pace; she did an excellent job. She listened to me, was very thorough and we resolved the problem. My only problem now is...how can I choose between the two!? Regardless of who you see, you can not go wrong with this place, I recommend it to everyone!

I have gone to this group for years as all of the staff are friendly, caring professionals. Even when they were out of next work for my vision insurance, I made the choice to continue to see the best. Even on a weekend or holiday if I have a problem I call the office and get a quick call back from the on-call doctor. An amazing group and they truly care about their patients. You only get one pair of eyes and you need to take care of them. The name says it all...they are the PRIMARY place to go for eye care and eye health. Not just contacts or glasses, but any eye or vision issues.

I have seen Dr Vanhoven for years. He is an amazing eye doctor and I will never ever see anyone else. I recently had a eye concern that he referred me to be treated and bc of that the condition has been resolved; however he took the time to explain what it is and has also been excellent with explaining why my vision is changing, I’m 45 almost 46. He reassured me that this normal and is doing everything he can to “kick the can” as far as we can with lenses etc to ease me into the bi-focal world!! I highly recommend him as he is very patient d really takes the time to address any and all eye care concerns:)

Ive been a patient for a long time. I recently arrived on-time for my appointment and waited over 30 minutes. Since I was on my lunch break, i asked if I needed to reschedule and was told I was next, so I stayed. The technician was nice and apologized for my wait. She efficiently did each of the tests. The doctor came in, checked my eyes, and answered my questions well. He was friendly and it was easy to understand his answers. The front desk checked me out as soon as my appointment was over. The office gives good service, and its busy because of that reason.

Nice place, nice people. My concern is lack of communication. I fully understood that there was an emergency today and my appointment was delayed. No one said a word until I walked out of the exam room and explained that I had another appointment and couldnt wait much longer. I ended up with half an exam, partially due to one eye being very dry, and have to go back next week. This has happened before and they honestly need better communication with the patient.

Great visit today with a good report on my eyes. Couldn’t have been better. Friendly staff and doctor. 😎😎

I went to Dr. Pete for my annual eye check up. It was a great experience. Dr. Pete took his time with me and explained each step in the eye exam process and answered any questions I had. I did not feel like he was rushed at all. The lady that fitted me for new lens and frames was really nice and knowledgeable. She did not try to pressure me into getting more expensive lens or frames, but made sure I was getting what I wanted.

I was there for a yearly checkup. My appt. was at 1 and I waited maybe 7 minutes. Brook was my technician. Very friendly and still highly professional. She asked questions about any concerns I may have had since my last exam. She explained everything that was to be done and again as we went through.Dr. Van Hoven was friendly and welcoming as always. He too asked about any concerns since my last visit. I mentioned one or two things and he was quick to take the time to explain them to me and allay any fears I may have had.Great atmosphere. Very much like family.

Ive never had such a thorough eye exam! The technician Ann Elise, that handled the testing explained every step throughout the entire process. Super nice especially at 7am! I then saw Dr. Engles for my results and contact fitting. Again, everything was explained so well. He had a great approach to some dry eye issues Im having. Took the time to make sure i understood everything. The front office staff was excellent as well. These guys are Next level providers!
