They have 2 specialty custard/ soft serve flavors they rotate out ever week- it is to die for. Ive never found anything like this in Buffalo before. Look up the flavors of the month towards the beginning of the month so you can plan accordingly- youll want to stock up when they have your favorite. Owner is insanely nice. Place is always clean. So grateful to have found this gem!

I love the ice cream! My favorite flavor is the mint chocolate chip. Its super delicious and tastes super fresh.

With everything from hard ice cream to soft serve to baked goods, this is the place to be when you have a sugar craving. Their portion sizes are huge so be prepared and order a size down. The blizzards are delicious and massive! They also provide nice indoor and outdoor seating underneath pergolas. There’s some play equipment for the kiddos too.It was a nice little find on a hot day.

The new owner has really made some positive changes! Much cleaner, tasteful decor, nice addition of hotdogs and bakery treats, spotless gumball machines, books for kids to pull out and look at, etc. Still has the little tykes playground out front. and playhouses are faded and well loved but still work and kids dont care. The owner went out to dry them off after yesterdays rain! Coffee flavored ice cream would be the only thing Id recommend, but not sure if it would be a big seller or not. Keep up the great improvements. Everyone, this place is located on Dingens street right off the exit 1 south Ogden exit on the 90. It is really quick to swing right back on the 90 to the 190 and downtown. It is much nicer than the ice cream places downtown like the hatch! I dont know the owner or anything, just want to give credit for some nice changes in the very short time since it switched hands.

Delicious options! Decent prices and such a cute place for kids! My little one loved all the just the right size play ground equipment they had! It was even getting dark out and she was running around playing!We had to avoid some of them though because they were filled with a ton of rain water.We will definitely be back soon!

The best little ice cream stand around! Low prices, big cones and sundaes. They rotate 2 select flavors every week. Have tons of choices, super friendly staff and a fantastic atmosphere for kids and adults alike. Eating Indoors or out, its a truly wonderful place!

Tried major cool off for first time tonight, very nice place. Very curtious and friendly. Cute little place and family friendly, so nice how they have toys outside for little kids. Will be going there all summer and will tell my friends about it.

Best custard place to get ice cream, not ice milk.... Great variety, friendly employees.... Unbelievable place to bring children and keep then occupied for awhile,because they have a playground on each side of the building, and plenty of benches, picnic tables, and even a shelter for indolen inclement weather. I only wished they stayed open longer in the season, they close, I think, in early September.... With warm weather going through October sometimes,it would be great if they stayed open through 🎃 Halloween, and Im sure they would stay busy. I believe its because kids are back in school and it slows down... Weekends anyone?....😁

Custard was good. BUT, while I was there, I witnessed a young girl get her order wrong & unfortunately instead of the owners giving her what she asked for or some compensation, was given a bad attitude from the older lady working there. I kinda almost wanted to buy the poor girl another ice cream bc she left in tears....

Awesome ice cream! So many selections it was hard to decide! The atmosphere and staff was very friendly.Theres a really nice play area for kids outside, definitely a place for young families to come on a warm summer evening. Im looking forward to our next visit.

Great ice cream shop... seems like a family run business. You can eat inside, air conditioned, or outside and let the kids play with the various playsets they have. You can get a cheap cone, or different frozen milkshake/blizzard type drinks, and many different sundaes. I would much rather give my money to a small family shop then a corporate chain. Its right off the NY State thruway, so even if your passing through would be a great place to get off and stretch your feet and let the kids run around before jumping back on the thruway on ramp.

Ice cream was really good. Friendly staff. But a spider crawled up my leg and up to my neck while sitting outside. (Not the establishments fault) so a bad experience for me.

Ive been visiting here since I was a little kid and now I have the joy of taking my daughters. Plus they have Turkey hill cotton candy which I cant find anywhere else!

Last time I will be giving this place my business. Owner is very rude and has had a attitude on mutiple occasions, doesnt listen to customers when ordering. I use to make a weekly visit but will now have to find a new place.

Its very cute, clean, and fairly priced. They have a large variety of icecream treats on their menu, as well as in a freezer to go. Custard flavors are always changing, and they offer Dole whip as well. As for hard icecream, there are 10 different flavors. They have a pastry case, with different pastries, muffins and cupcakes. Coffee is also available. Outside is a toddler play area, and some places to sit. Inside are tables, chairs and a rest room. Its a terrific place.

This is now my ice cream spot, i love all the choices and the icecream is great quality. You just have to remember that its cash only.

So I really dont like giving poor reviews...but sometimes its necessary for a place to learn and hopefully change for the better. Last year new owners took over for the longtime owners. We had our fingers crossed. We will unfortunately be finding a new ice cream place...the service isnt even close to the same as it was with old owners, prices have skyrocketed, while some of the toppings quality has dropped. I was charged $0.50 more than the advertised price which blew my mind. The outside play stuff for the kids hasnt been washed or wiped down since they took over as far as I can tell and my daughter loved playing on it. The only reason they got a 2 is because ice cream is ice cream and we love ice cream. And the fact that you think I touched your gross outside toys is a joke!!!

Not the same as the old major cool off :(. The vibe was different, they didnt seem happy working . Waited in line a bit, Maybe too busy and they need more staff that knows about ice cream 🍦 they didnt even know what or how to explain a artic swirl to a customer, The ice cream was still good :).

We have been coming to Major Cool Off since they opened up and we always enjoy the friendly atmosphere and staff. It is a great place for an ice-cream.

Call owner was rude because I dont belong to social media told me get with the times or dont come in so they have no idea what customer service is also word of mouth is the best free advertising but it is a two way street it also can be negative

Cash only for someone who doesnt carry cash is not helpful, especially for a father who promised his 3 year old ice cream. This is when I think places like this should at least have a square reader of just tell customers that they can email the amount using Google Wallet or PayPal. Next time I have money I will maybe stop for some ice cream.
