Go local! I love La Costa Coffee Roasting. They roast their coffee beans in house, and the ambiance is perfect here! Coffee and pastries are delicious, and the staff is always nice :)

Super cute coffee experience they always have art up on the walls and lots of outdoor seating. They have a very cool coffee roaster out and you can buy ground or whole bean for at home too

Great coffee and great atmosphere. And great smell of roasting coffee. One unique service is that they sell small quantities (down to 2oz) of flavored coffees.

Chose this local coffee shop vs Starbucks. Located on the corner, bright, cute decor, even a roasting machine. Service staff was very friendly. Good amount of seatings, busy. Latte was reasonably good, light roasted. Tea was conveniently hung on the cup, cute! Great place to come to support the local business!

Great place to chill and have a coffee or tea, or a pastry or bagel. Very comfy. Many similar places struggle with consistency as far as the quality of their drinks. Weve never had that problem here. Its always perfect. Low key live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Staff is awesome.

The new Guinea is absolutely amazing. Best coffee bean I have found this far. Smooth taste and full flavor. 100% recommend. Prices are fair for all their beans and their regular drinks are good too. I typically just drink black coffee so I cant speak for any of their fancy drinks

Looking for locally roasted beans and a great cup of coffee? This is your place. I have been a customer of La Costa Roasting for over 10 years now and can say the quality of the roast here has been consistantly great over that time. The roaster is located right in the main seating area and smells fantastic if you happen to come in while they are roasting. They also make some great smoothies and always have a good assortment of baked goodies.

Best roaster in the area! I moved away and, as many of other former customers, keep buying from them when Im back in town. Owner often serves customers and shares his huge knowledge on coffee. They roast popular blends daily, less popular ones are roasted 3-4 time per week. This approach guaranteed fresh beans on every your visit. Please try their coffee when you are around (I do not work for or get commission from them :)

The smell of this establishment, as you walk towards it, is DIVINE!! Every single Barista here is friendly and attentive and oh so helpful. As for Doug, the owner, you can ask him anything about coffee or roasting and he will know it. And he is more than glad to make recommendations, explain the process, and help in any way he can. I go way out of my way to get my coffee from him... And I always will. Just BECAUSE of him.Long may you roast, good sir!

Wow! Great for having coffee and for coffee beans for home...and for learning about coffee. Nicest staff ever and they had a live jazz band! Will definitely be returning and supporting this wonderful establishment.

Great non-chain coffee spot and the owner roasts coffee himself delivering the smells of roasting coffee across the hills of South Carlsbad. The inside and outside are both nice with the outside patio being very nicely spread out with piped in music. Theres nice food and shopping nearby and the just renovated Dove Library is right across the street. Great La Costa location.

It was my first time visiting La Costa Coffee Roasting, and I wasnt disappointed. I have been to MANY coffee shops in San Diego County, but this spot stands out because they make an incredible product and the staff was extremely friendly. Thanks for the positive experience LCCR!

What can I say about this local cafe? It has entertainment every Friday night. You can see the coffee grinded down in front of you and the coffee is fresh made daily with lovely staff members greeting you with a smile also a great area for a get together with a group of friends or just to go and grind down on some daily work for school or work.

I expected so much of this place because of the great photos and reviews! But although the staff was nice, the shop itself was very messy. The counters were dirty, floors strewn with crumbs and mislaid papers, and the inside of the display case was full of condensation. The coffee machines also did not look as if they had been cleaned ( full of fingerprints). Not sure if I just came in on a bad day...it was a Saturday afternoon around 3 pm. My blended coffee had huge chunks of ice and hardly any coffee flavor coming through, it felt watered down. Disappointing... But Im willing to try again another day. I liked the paneled atmosphere and everyone sitting comfortably reading and working.

Had a great experience tonight. My less sweet chai was perfect and my husbands flavored latte was really good as well. We enjoyed the sunset with our drinks on the comfortable patio seating.

As a tea (not coffee) drinker, I find it okay: they have some tea, but its nothing amazing, though not bad. Same with pastries. Its typically loud and hard to find a seat, but has good ambiance, so for some people its worth it.

Like the location and staff BUT its kinda a homeless hangout. Just inside on right are 4 barstools. Each day are the same unbathen tobacco reeking guys complete with their life belongings in various bags and suitcases stuffed under bartop. Often they are asleep with heads on countertop.They obviously live outdoors. While I am sympathetic to those less fortunate. The owner puts his patrons at risk by allowing this daily inside the coffeehouse.The bad smell of these guys at times, overpowers the coffee which, is really good.I worry about diseases and critters these guys carry due to their homeless plight.

Amazing taste!

Worst iced vanilla latte I’ve ever had. My latte was milk and sugar, I tasted no coffee. When I ask them ifthey could make it again, they gave me even more sugar and it was dripping off the side of the cup. They couldn’t even wipe the cup off. I would give zero stars if I could.
