AN ABSOLUTE DREAM 🤩One of the most unique and visually stunning places I’ve ever visited. Part coffee shop and cafe, part succulent shop, part succulent art and sculpture gallery. I’d honestly pay an admission fee to just browse. Amazing selection of plants and arrangements, many of which are very artistic and one-of-a-kind.

Just a short jaunt from Oceanside (where I was staying) youll find this amazing little succulent cafe and coffee shop.Succulent Cafe was founded in 2011 in Oceanside California. They offer a full menu of coffee and pastries and this awesome relaxing, serene, and quiet succulent garden! The succulents are also available to purchase. One of the things that I really, really liked about the Succulent Cafe was how they arranged everything - they didnt just throw everything out there in a warehouse style configuration (think Walmart) - instead they arranged everything in very creative ways so you could visualize and create ideas on how their succulents could appear inside your home. I took several pictures, but Ive included some that give you the idea.Drink recommendations? The lavender mocha is delicious staff and the amazing and friendly staff give you the feel good vibes.

I’ve been searching for the best chai latte and I think I’ve found it, or at least when I came it was the best chai latte. That’s my thing, try the chai latte everywhere. Their chai was very nutty and creamy. It wasn’t too spicy and it was very smooth coming down. I also loved that it wasn’t too sweet. If I’m in the area this is my chai place! Also cute succulents everywhere. I also got their blueberry muffin, it was good. Mask required regardless of vaccination status for inside.

What a great, peaceful atmosphere. Adorable succulent creations. Thoroughly enjoyed a friend date over coffee, chit chat, and enjoying all the arrangements. The hummingbirds and water fountain add a perfect combination to this experience.

Very chill garden vibe, feels like hanging out at grandmas garden. Recommend matcha, mocha w/ almond milk, lavender mocha, and salted caramel mocha. They also have muffins and bagels.

Beautiful location for some hot mocha or tea. I am all about the americano but their selection was just right. Also, most of the succulents in the place are for sale, so if you fall in love with a cute one... take it home with you!

Awesome space with excellent coffee!This place is amazing. There’s tons of seating with lots of good tables for studying as well as more secluded spots. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing with ambient (e.g spa) music and plants everywhere. The employees are friendly, welcoming, and make great drinks! There are hundreds of succulents to look at and plentiful spots to hang out!

Drove up from San Diego to check out this cafe. The scenery is magical. Wonderful art from local artist and the succulent arrangements are magical. They really took their time to make this place a wonderful cafe. We had a chai tea and lavender mocha coffee which were very good and not to hot and drinkable right away. Great place we will be back to purchase succulents when we are ready to develop our own succulent gardens.

My favorite coffee shop by far. The espresso was great, and the courtyard with every type of succulent you can imagine was just something you have to experience. Go here for coffee, not the scones though.

This is a very beautiful and unique open air cafe. It’s filled with luscious succulents of all species. I’ll buy hot cocoa for the kids, and we’ll sit and admire the courtyard. There are mini terrariums, succulents growing out of old jeans and old boots, a fountain and plenty of seating. You HAVE to stop by this cafe if you’re in the Carlsbad area.

Beverages came out quick and the lavender latte was tasty. Absolutely loved the succulent garden!!! Such fun creative ideas on what can be used as a planter- from tires to colanders. Fun place to check out!

Whether you are into succulents or just want to enjoy a good coffee, this is the perfect spot!The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. This is one of my favorite places to go when I am in carlsbad! They have Stumptown Coffee which is a major plus! There is so much to look at and some of the stuff is even for purchase. The staff is super friendly and quick! I had the lavender mocha cold with almond milk and it was delightful!

My absolute favorite place to have coffee. Think Mexican mocha or oatmilk latte. Love, love,, love their coffee and beautiful surroundings. Pete the owner is a master of succulents and their arrangement. Support this Carlsbad business trying to make it in these tough times.

Really nice place, ample seating and not overly busy on a Saturday morning. Friendly service, decor is pretty cute and they sell succulents! They have wifi, tables inside and chairs outside. Good coffee and food.

Succulent Cafe is a beautiful place to come hang out with your friends/family, or just to come kick it on your laptop and enjoy all the cute succulents while sipping on a fresh made coffee. I would strongly recommend just walking by to admire the place if anything. But you would be missing out on some deliciousness.

This is such a charming relaxing spot to grab some coffee and a snack. You can enjoy the plants and succulents in their patio area. And they have the cutest flower and gift shop right next door!

The croissant breakfast sandwich was tasty, as was the Mexican Mocha. We enjoyed the quality fare in a unique setting.

Really eclectic mix of succulents, all very healthy and beautiful. Not cheap. Matcha latte was awful, tasted nothing like matcha. Didn’t have iced coffee, which is weird, but the iced americano was good. Friendly staff.

The atmosphere is so welcoming. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy your coffee. Not to mention all of the beautiful succulent arrangements that cover ever inch of the place.

My wife wanted to check this place out so we made the drive down to Carlsbad. This place was really cool! 1/2 cafe 1/2 succulent store! They had tons of really cool succulents that were both big and small. Some growing in pots, some growing on wood pieces, some just growing in air. The cafe 1/2 was pretty cool too though we didn’t get the chance to eat there unfortunately.

I have considered this to be one of the best plant places ever. I live in No. CA, so am able to visit about once a year, and I always find lots of plants I need. She has a great collection of Hoyas as well as her signature succulents.

This place was amazing. Anything you can think of, and everything you cant had a succulent in it. There were succulents everywhere! We really enjoyed walking through, we heard they had good cinnamon rolls, but when we got there they didnt have any.

I go to this place for the ambiance. I love sitting on a bench at the fountain in the front yard, or reading in a seat with a small coffee table up front. Inside, there is plenty of seating, along with outlets to keep the laptop charged up. The restroom is spacious and always clean.There is a large variety of succulent plants that serve as the decor and theme of the shop. Im not really a plant person, but I always enjoy strolling around and enjoying the amazing succulents on display, often in bloom. The plants are potted very creatively. As far as I can tell, theyre all for sale.Three things detract from my experience here. First, the coffee is not really that good; the ambiance is what makes it enjoyable. Second, they really dont like people paying with plastic. Theres a $0.50 surcharge for using a credit card or debit card if one is just buying a single drink; theres no surcharge if one spends over $5. I never carry cash, and am always irritated by this. Finally, 4-5 times Ive gone here only to find them closed--during normal business hours. My guess is they have a small staff and there are times they just cant cover the counter.In spite of those issues, I still like going here. Theres a chill vibe with interesting decor and the soft splashing of the fountain thats really calming.

The succulent cafe in Carlsbad is a hidden gem. I have been bringing any and all of my out of town guests here for the past few years and will continue to do so. If you are visiting Carlsbad this is a MUST see. The menu is small with quality light food. I love the salad dressing and the quiche, but the turkey and brie sandwich is also very good. My partner loves the breakfast sandwiches and the cinnamon rolls.Come for the coffee and homemade teas, or a delicious pastry. Stay and visit for a while, because you will not want to leave this little oasis. The owner is absolutely wonderful and makes everyone feel welcome. Speaking for myself and many friends living in Carlsbad, we feel very lucky to have a spot as unique as this in walking distance to the village.

Peaceful spot with indoor and outdoor seating and a waterfall. Of course succulents abound, for sale as well as decoration. The iced chai latte was refreshing on a warm day.

My drink was a bit powdery so it was weird for coffee.

I use to go there every Friday with my closest friend, we go to a local military school. Their Milk shakes are the best, highly recommend! Nice desire as well. Trust me, you cannot find any better places locally.

This cafe tucked in Carlsbad Village is a little slice of magic. Feast your eyes and indulge your imagination on the assortment of succulent arrangements - everything from old car parts, oil funnels, toilets and various ceramics serve as recycled houses for a rainbow of succulents to live - its always inspirational to visit here! There is even a little gift shop that is full of handmade goods - a great spot for holiday shopping. From the cafe, try the gluten-free quiche and a lavender mocha :)

I met a friend here for coffee one day on her recommendation and we loved it. My wife and I had a very enjoyable time walking around and looking at all of the different little decorations and eclectic things to see there. They have a very cool selection of plants and flowers in some very neat decorative holders. Also their iced coffees were very good and they had a nice selection of things to choose from. This is definitely a great spot to grab a drink and just walk around and check things out

Was out for a walk today in Oceanside and a friend walked me by the absolutely adorable cafe. I walked in and was immediately transformed into another place and space!!! AMAZING is all I can say. The owners were very friendly and humble. The setting was unforgettable, the coffee. great! You have to come and see this place to believe it. The creative uses of succulents were endless.

What a delightful surprise. Charming, yet lots of space, with so many wonderful plants and unique arrangements to look at. My husband loved his house-made cinnamon bun and my blueberry scone was perfect. (I make scones- they are NOT the same as muffins.- somebody tell Starbucks -these were fresh, had lots of blueberries and that perfect slightly crusty outer layer.) Topped it all off with coffee and we ate on the shady patio. Me thinks we have a new special place to go.

This one of a kind cafe is beautifully decorated with varieties of succulents and air plants that dangle from artistic arrangements. The plants give the cafe a rare, lush vibe. The coffee is fantastic and you can taste the care and attention to detail in all the food that comes out of the kitchen. Couples were hanging out in picturesque cafe settings and there was a large area in the shaded lounge. The cafe is joined to a nursery and gift shop where you can purchase rare plants and arrangements.

Its a peaceful place to study and enjoy a drink. I like this succulent place. The barista is attentive and the music is not too loud. I like their choice of music too. I wish I can eat my snacks though while studying but they have a sign everywhere saying I cant eat outside food or drink. Overall, its a nice place.

I had the avocado toast and a lavender black tea. It was so good! And you cant bet the space!! So many amazing succulents and an adorable gift shop!

I can’t attest to the coffee, since we only entered to buy some succulents, of which there was a large variety and they were reasonably priced. There were tables and chairs outside surrounded by lots of plants, it looked like a nice place to hang out. And the owners were very cool and fun to talk to!

I started my life in California at this cafe and it’s not only provided me my coffee buzz but many opportunities to be involved in the community. So blessed to have found this place! Such quality drinks, food, and amazing staff.

Adore this place, so much so that Ive gone twice... And I live in LA. Cant speak about the drinks/food because I havent tried any, but as far as the plants go its an amazing find. Filled with succulents that are not usually available at your run of the mill home depot or Lowes

Beautiful little cafe close to state street and the train station in downtown Carlsbad. so peaceful to sit amongst the succulents and by the fountain with a yummy pastry and coffee. Free WiFi and plenty of choice for seating. Outdoor couches & indoor tables with electric outlets for laptops/phones. Great little place. Friendly approachable staff and very clean. I will be back with my friends next time ;-)

Gorgeous coffee/pastry shop! A beautiful waterfall in the courtyard. If you have a craving for coffee/tea/pastries during the summer days, this would be the spot I would come to. If its chilly/raining, it would be a little bit more difficult but they also provide in door seating. If you are looking for a calm, peaceful coffee shop where you can enjoy the beautiful weather, this would be it!

A wonderful little alcove in Oceanside, displaying creative succulent containers and interior design. It is within a short walking distance to the pier. This is one thing I like to do. Grab a yummy drink here and take a walk to the pier and beach.Its an outdoor cafe, so if the weather is not clear and sunny, call ahead to see if theyre open.

Staff were friendly. Really nice atmosphere. Decaf espresso left something to be desired. Nice little spot to come hang out. Would recommend.

Came here for Mother’s Day and had a great time beautiful, unique, colorful seating on the patio. Caramel latte could have come a bit larger for the “large” size would be a small most other places, but it was delicious. Avocado Toast was only $7 and a perfect snack-sized serving. I’d reccommend this to anyone in the area.

Succulent Cafe is favorite place to relax or get some work done while I’m visiting family in Carlsbad. Ample seating indoors and out (with outlets and shade, respectively), good WiFi, a pleasant waterfall, and a cute succulent shop next door. Try the delicious lavender latte! Lots of street parking and dog friendly.

Beautiful cafe with good coffee near the Pacific. The surrounding, displayed succulents make for a pleasing atmosphere for work. If you feel like getting a little more quiet, you can escape to an indoor seating area, but its honestly nicer sitting by the fountain or around the plants.

Very beautiful cafe, loads of succulents everywhere and on everything. They have a little shop connected to it where you can buy plants and a variety of things to support your succulent habits. The cafe is very good, friendly baristas and excellent seating. Pet friendly also

This cafe is gorgeous!! It is the garden I wish I could have!! You can enjoy your beverage to the serene sounds of the water feature while surrounded by succulents. This is a perfect spot to read, write, work, or meet up with someone. The only thing that I would change about this cafe is the variety of their menu. It would be nice to see some new featured drinks and some increased selection of food items. The menu offerings havent really changed since they opened about 6 months ago. Fortunately, though, everything Ive had there has been delicious!

Went today, Thursday 7/21/16, for our first visit at about 2:00 PM. wife had Iced Mexican Mocha and I had a 16 oz coffee. Most excellent coffee and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the Iced Mexican Mocha. The succulents were fantastic and added to our experience. Lots of shaded tables and staff was friendly & helpful. We will be back!!

Seriously the most charming little cafe I have ever eaten at. The coconut mocha was to die for and we had the best breakfast of our lives (would recommend the quiche).

A hidden gem. Family owned and operated. Amazing succulents, a great setting with good consistent coffee. The tea options are nice too. Its a small place so dont expect chain coffee speed to get a drink. Its my preferred spot to get expresso drinks in the area.

Cool cafe. Drinks are maybe 30 cent more than other joints but its a very unique atmosphere. Very tranquil and the succulents are quite amazing to just see.

Decent options for drinks, but no food options. Not even pastries. The succulents are great, but feels a little dirty or unclean. They could spruce it up a bit for better options for ambiance and snacks while you drink coffee.

I may have overhyped this place for myself (I love love love succulents), because I was a little underwhelmed when I first walked in, as the layout wasnt quite what I expected. However, this unassuming little cafe won me over quickly. Its tucked in an alleyway and is fully outdoors. There are seats and tables among all the succulents/decor and it resembles a garden shop. The coffee cart is at the back of the alley. The menu isnt super extensive, but their coffee is pretty good! I got the Lavender Latte, which I enjoyed.Parking is on the street, or theres a public parking lot about a block up (4 hours for free). Overall, I wouldnt drive out of my way to come here, but if youre in the area, its a great place to check out/chill for some coffee and conversation.

Whenever I walk into Succulent Cafe, my mind is at ease. The beautiful and peaceful ambiance makes you feel like youre at a home away from home. The staff are friendly and the coffee and baked goods leave your tastebuds wanting more. Every time I visit the gift shop, I walk away with something. The owners are so talented. Youll see this as soon as you step foot inside. Who knew you could do so much with succulents?! Add this to your list of places to visit, or frequent if youre a local!

It would be five stars if there were more food options, because I love this spot. It is a beautiful space to sit and relax, catch-up with friends, or get a little work done (they have WiFi). Its outdoors, so bring a jacket just in case. Great proximity to the pier so you can go for a walk and finish up with a coffee or tea.

I had the breakfast bowl very tasty. This is a pretty cool place. It is kinda like a waffle house but better.

I never take the time to write a review but I feel this may help before a good place goes bad. The first time I went the place was awesome and the sandwiches were great and the coffee was as well. I returned weeks later and arrived at 120 PM and stood in line to order lunch. I had no idea the stopped serving food at 130. I stood in line for 14 min with 2 people in front of me which was no problem until the teenager refused to serve me food although she did to the person in front of me. She clearly saw me standing there the entire time. Will not return.

Great spot to get breakfast or brunch. Nice atmosphere and very dog friendly. Limited menu could use some additional items.

A cute little place with plenty to see gives visitors inspiration but way over priced for individual plants and outrageous prices on even small arrangements. The saving grace is that ideas and inspiration to recreate some unique designs are free to take home so I have some great DIY projects in my future.

The succulent cafe had a dream once, and I think when grandma passed and her Home Depot collection of backyard tchotchkes had nowhere else to go, they just figured they’d keep everything as-is and turn it into a coffee shop.Albeit, one with so much potential, but still a half-baked idea with food and drinks that are nothing special.
