The workers here are very sweet and theres a wide variety of items to buy. The vegetables are in a very useful stand that sprays it every once in a while, keeping it fresh and clean!

They don’t enforce masking law. This guy shown just went through checkout, laughing and joking with checker.

Is it just me or does just this location in castro valley store seem very small...? I guess thats what makes this store good for just a couple items or a quick stop for something you need. I dont go to this store that often but I like this lucky!

This is a great local grocery. Everyone who works there is SO friendly and cheerful, extremely helpful and they remember you. Small town grocery stores NEED to be like this, and its one of the very few that still care these days. They are my go-to place for that very reason. Their prices are on point, the selection is as one would expect in a small town... not overwhelming, but not missing anything.Ive always felt that youll know youre in the right store when everything you want is at eye level, and this is that store for me.

A quick stop to buy some Bing Cherries. It has been an exceptional year. Every bag is perfect. While shopping I found these cute Party items.

The Castro Valley Lucky Store is excellent: the selection and prices are very good, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and even their shoppers for home delivery are superb. Definitely my favorite grocery store.

I have shopped at Luckys after Albertsons left. I shopped at Raleys before Albertsons. I have not spent a dime with Safeway since 1980. That was when I tried to buy a roll of quarters to do my laundry And checker said no. I complained to the manager, who said, What are you thinking, Safeway is not a bank. I told her she would lose customer. She said, Thats your choice. I left. I wrote a letter to Safeway telling them of the circumstances and copied the Store Manager. No response. I have not been back.The Castro Valley Luckys is pleasant, well stocked with great staff. They are responsive, helpful, cheerful, and understand their customers. It is a lot like a corner grocery.

Ive only just recently started coming here because I just started working near here, and the employees are sooooooo nice each and every one of them.

I love this store just cause it’s near my house but all in all it is great. Prices are good and when there’s a sale you can find good prices

This is my favorite grocery store. It usually has everything I want.I always go for the 5 for $5 deal which helps me keep my budget but also stock up. Its one of the beat deals a corporate grocery store provides.Never took crowded and usually most items are in stock.

The beef which was from Canada looked tainted and not right.

Because they Respect my Mama The Singing Waitress On our last visit to Luckys Castro Valley Mama had a Diabetic Episode. Her legs gave out. One kind Lady Employee held Mama up while I ran in the back to find a chair. A chair was found and then a Electric Shopping Cart which she had never tried before. Needless to say a very nice young man helped her get her groove on. Thank you Lucky Employees for helping Chris The Singing Waitress in her time of need.

Lovely store. Lots of fresh produce vibrantly green organic produce exceptional Seafood selection. Deli salads always fresh and store made. Love their plants, flowers, orchids and specialty foliage items. Store is clean staff professional and friendly.

Its a safer place than the hayward one and youll mostly find what they sell at the other but it is a smaller building.

Friendly employees. Always helpful when asked. Glad this Lucky is close by my home.

I really enjoy shopping @ this Lucky grocery store in Castro Valley. You couldnt get the same good services @ any other around this area. The unexpected sales are always a plus. Also the regular sales they advertise cant be beat. They did most of the work to better the store during slow hours & after hours. Really do appreciate C.V. Lucky.

Luckys Store is a great place to shop. They always seem to have the product I need for a good price. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The clerks checking me out always make sure I found everything I needed to which I usually say Yes and more than I originally came in for. Its a friendly store with good products, great prices, and very accommodating staff.

Really like the place but they need self check out lanes, at least 4. Look, its 2020.

Go in there and it feels like the ghetto now. The store is old and they dont renovate. It seems like there must be a lot of shop lifting there because they block the doors and use carts to shuffle u they way they want to prevent it I guess. I hope they make it nice soon. The Safeway literally across the street is much nicer inside.

This luckys is not my favorite but in a pinch. It works. Plenty of parking and handicap parking. Its a few tight smaller Luckys compared to Hayward or other cities. Fish market is small & not too much seafood. Prepackaged meats no real full meat counter. The staff is excellent. Lines move quick. Its Castro Valley is peak hours are slammed. And also, small bakery. Good 4 last minute cakes & soccer mom n dad treats.

The store is clean and well laid out and for the most part, they have the items that they advertise. If they dont, they will give rain checks. Be sure to watch as the cashier rings up your items, because there are often manager specials that are not put into the system correctly and you will be overcharged if you dont catch it.

Its a great place to shop for groceries. Very reasonable prices and they always have what you want or need. We shop there every Sunday.

I dont know what those other reviews were about, but Luckys in Castro Valley is my store. I get great customer service, and usually what I am looking for is there. I go to Luckys every other day. Other than one or two people, everyone in that store are courteous, and respectful. From management to whomever...... When I cant go to the store, and my husband goes for me, I am insistent about him going to Luckys. Not that dang Safeways across the street.I AM A HAPPY, AND LOYAL LUCKYS CASTRO VALLEY CUSTOMER.DONT HATE....CONGRATULATE (LOL)

Generally a good supermarket. Good fish department. Prices are generally better than Safeway. Flower department is minimal.

They got everything you need food related, a lot shorter lines, and friendly workers.

Nice people, a little ghetto because there are so many thieves around that they have to block off doors and chain up carts. Good meat prices for decent steak in max pack.

Its a lot older looking and less organized than Safeway across the street, but the produce here looks much better. I personally prefer the Safeway, but I shop here occasionally when theres a good deal or sale.

I shop at Luckys before going to Safeway because I can get things at Luckys that Safeway doesnt carry. The parking is a little bit better. Ajacent to Luckys is a Chase Bank, pet store & small shopping center. With the over population of Castro Valley, we need this grocery store. It is well kept and the staff is friendly.

Kind of small. Has a strange setup. But the works is what makes shopping there good.

Ive been avoiding Safeway because Safeway does not seem to care that they never have enough cashiers working. Lucky doesnt seem to have their problem and their prices are comparable. Dont ever go to Safeway if theres a Lucky nearby.

This is a smaller Lucky, but thats why I like it. Its not as crowded, and the people who work there are all so friendly. Plus, its close to home.

The staff here is so friendly and with great pricing it makes a visit here a no-brainer. Just tried the bbq ribs that they make there last night, so good! Go here quite a bit for family grocery shopping. Prices arent great for all items, and their stock can be limited at times. Still very easy to get in and out for basic items, and the staff is all very friendly.
