I absolutely love this place! Perfect for any time of the day. The food is delicious and authentic. Best croissants! And dont forget a sweet treat like macaroon or tart. The coffee selection is pretty delicious as well. Its nestled at the edge of a parking lot...which doesnt sound like much, but there are a few tables/chairs, shaded cover in the summer and heat lamps in the winter. Very comfortable and perfect for people watching. Dog friendly too!
Such a quaint, proper French cafe in Utah! I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was.I had their Gratin, which was excellent.I would have given them 5 stars, had it not been for the ;1. Many items on the menu were not available2. The strawberry crepe did not have a whipped cream, only strawberry syrup and lots of strawberries.
Ambiance 5/5Food: 4/5Amazing little place. One of the best Almond croissants 🥐 I ever had. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle with perfect balance of flavors. Almonds are also present from the outside. Macaroons which I bought was cotton candy. I didn’t like it and it was very cold and hard. Difficult eat as soon as I bought it. Looks amazing though 🤷🏻♂️.Hot chocolate is just perfect for my liking thick tasty and all the wonderful things in one small glass. Overall I would recommend this place and try their croissants and hot chocolate as soon as you can.
Great breakfast croissant. The Chai tea is very good, not too sweet, just right. The smoked salmon was very tasty. Wish they had a breakfast crepe.
I love this place! Their new indoor dining on Main Street is great. I had the filet and my wife had the salmon. Both were amazing. Their pastries are the best. I feel like I am in a little cafe in Paris when I eat here. Wonderful service and food.
Ratatouille was good! A little pricy and the menu isnt very large, but it sure hits the spot. Cool place as well
I love this place. The chocolate and almond croissants are must order. They are definitely made with real butter and have lots of lovely layers. Everything I have had there is very yummy. The service can take a while, but the staff are friendly and you can people watch while you wait in the outdoor dining area. They do not have an indoor dining space which may be a problem for some.
So glad we found this new restaurant. The flavors are incredible! I loved the smoked salmon croissant and banana crepes💜I only wish we tried it earlier so we could have had it every day!
To find a great onion soup and a potato gratin in a small town in Southern Utah is a gift. The food I had was top drawer. I wish they were in my hometown.
Found this cute spot on my stay in cedar city. Their french onion soup is dope and macaroons were tasty.
I can’t even explain how chaotic the service was. Taking our order took over 5 minutes. I’d start to tell him what I wanted and he’d tell the girl working something about another order. I said a croissant and he grabbed a chocolate one before I could say almond. Then he walked away from the window for almost 3 minutes before he came back to finish. And I only ordered pastries.... The same thing happened to my friend when ordering. The food was good but there’s something to be said about being treated with respect as a consumer.
Their hot chocolate is fantastic. Unfortunately they did run out of fresh fruit for one of our orders but they had other options available.
The croissants were delicious, but the macaroons were disappointing. Outdoor seating only and seating is limited. If you come on Saturday, there is a fun farmers market across the street. If you are a fan of macaroons, there is a lady there that sells some that are SIGNIFICANTLY better than The French Spots.
I truly enjoy coming here to treat myself, and friends alike. The folks are nice, the coffee & food- out of this world! The environment they have created is so relaxing, perfect place to people watch and enjoy quality service and food.
We ordered the ratatouille and a lavender macaron. The macaron was perfect. For the price it was a great size, ratio of cookie/filling and flavor. It was served cold and my husband liked it that way. I prefer to let it come to room temp before eating. The ratatouille was WAY over priced. It was vegetables and pasta for $21. I would be giving 5 stars if it had been served with a protein, bread, a thicker more rich sauce and/or more developed flavors. There was no depth of flavor, richness or evidence of time/love put into it. It was average, basic and unfortunately Boring for $21 - Very disappointing. They should be embarrassed to serve basic vegetables & pasta - calling it ratatouille & charging $21.
Absolutely fantastic. You dont expect exquisite Chef-quality food from a small stand, but it is fantastic. The salmon with goat-cheese was to die for! Worth every penny, we will absolutely come back!
Really excellent. The coffee was good, the chocolate croissant was fantastic, and the ham egg and cheese croissant was a tasty and hearty portion
Not the best experience purchasing a meal there. However the people I saw in line getting coffees, other drinks, and desserts were very pleased. I might give them another try when back in the area.
Higher end, creative food and drink. Cute outdoor place. Very efficient and friendly service.
Drove all the way from Vegas to try this place for my birthday and it was definitely worth the drive! Ordered the Mushroom Pasta and the Creme Brulee for dessert - both was very yummy & awesome! The wait time was decent. The menu can be a bit daunting as theres a lot of offerings but I think thats the only trouble youll have is deciding what to get and what to try for next time. Im sure everything you order & try will be just as good. I wish I wouldve tried their Lamb though 😞. Oh well, I have a reason to go back then...hehe. Prices are very decent. The staff are very friendly. It is an outdoor café-type setting so the seating & table is very limited. They do have a bathroom access across the way. Definitely go for breakfast or brunch!
This is a cute place! We loved the Boba tea
Always yum. Especially their Lavender Latte, made with Heavy Cream. My FAVE FOR SURE. 💓
Sidewalk cafe, loved the quiche. My friend had potatoes Duphanaise. She said her dish was perfectly prepared and cooked. Large portion of mixed greens with just right portions of main dishes. Very good French style macarons. Will go there again and often!
Kaden was awesome. Service was extremely friendly. You could see the smile through the mask.Im simple when it comes to coffee. Latte with Almond Milk. No sugar. I usually order black because I can tell if the beans are tasty delicious. Tonight I was in the mood for a little almond milk. Lol.Beautiful space & if we weren’t driving home right now, I would have just stayed & enjoyed my coffee there.keep up the great work. Glad Kaden was there to make sure you & your team received a 5 star review. I only had a coffee so Im unaware of the other items & food on the menu.we are all worthy of being here.we are all worthy of being loved.blessings & unconditional love. always.AARON FELD. | thebougiehippie.be more human. | sé más humano.
We had coffee, lavender latte, almond croissants and 2 bubble teas for the kids. Everything was great except the bubble tea. One was too sweet and the other had no flavor at all. It also took like 20 minutes to get the bubble tea. Gal had to run into big building to get it. This place came highly recommeded, I would still recommend, just not the bubble tea.
Solid little spot with great coffees and tea. Theres a food menu too but Ive never ordered off of it. They can be slow at times from a back up of orders.
Crepes. Drinking chocolate. Croissants. All excellent. Quiche not typical and not great. Organization and communication not good at all. Cute outdoor eating spot but if it’s cold watch out.
Try their pastries. You will not regret it:)
Yum. There wasnt one thing that we ate that was meh. We had the Greek Salad, a pear tart, and the gratin dish as well as two lattes. The tart is one of the best Ive ever had and the gratin is so delicious as well and Im not even a fan of gratin. The salad was a nice balance to the heavier foods and you arent skimped on the peppers, olives and cucumbers. I want to come back to Cedar City just to eat here again. The family that owns and runs it are very pleasant and clearly know what theyre doing. Plenty of parking all around and its on a side street from downtown so you can take a walk afterwards or before. I highly recommend it.
Its not open??? we tried to go. The menu looks amazing, hopefully itll be open next time were in cedar City.
Absolutely delicious!! I took my children on a field trip here while learning about France. The owner and chef is superb, he talked with my children in French and was so very kind. Everything he makes is delicious. Worth every penny for authentic French cuisine.
Michelle is from France and makes authentic gourmet cusine from a converted tool shed in a parking lot !!!With the help of French African students from SUU.Absolutely delicious baked pastries. French lunch and dinner options too.Casual outdoor seating.
Marking down a star for super slow service. The coffee is good though! I didnt have any food.
Excellent gratin very authentic. Woukd come back
Delicious & highly recommend. We ate here twice for the short time we were here in Cedar City. The scrambled eggs are scrumptious, coffee hot and croissants sweet. The owner was very kind and polite. When we come back we will definitely swing by again and support this small business.
Love this little space. We are super lucky to have it in cedar city. I love the owner, he is a wonderful, sweet, kind and caring person. Best coffee and my daughter absolutely loves their macaroons !
My wife and I were surprised to find French pastries in our visit to cedar city. We both got the butter croissant and the chocolate croissant. Compared to others we’ve tried it was a bit greasy and not quite as fluffy as what we prefer. The prices are a bit high, but we are also used to bakery prices that are around 1-2 dollars for what we got.Overall, if you haven’t tried French pastries it is worth a giving a shot.
I usually have good service here. There were three foreign girls that did not speak English at the booth. I tried to order and she said, WHAT DO YOU SAY? three times. I gave up. The Grind is there and Woodfired Pizza are better options.
BEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!! Authentic french Pastries
Fantastic food!! We got food for 3 meals in one weekend. Dont miss this gem!!!
Outstanding food in a nice little outdoor area. Coffee was spot on but the crepes were amazing.
Cant speak for the meals, but the sweets. Oh man. The sweets. I come in for a lavender macron at least once a week. Theyre just that good. The servers are also extremely nice and its also a great outdoor option for those trying to social distance and stay outside in these COVID-19 times.
The French Spot is a quaint, unique little place. Its a small shack in a parking lot, with no space for cooking. Servers are constantly in and out with food from an adjacent building where cooking apparently takes place. The dining area is a small outdoor area with bistro lights, a sun shade, and French music played at an appropriate volume for background noise. The selection of meals is somewhat small, but theres a generous selection of sweets/desserts and drinks. Most food options are unique. I didnt try any of the sweets, but the meals were not particularly well executed. Decent, but not outstanding. The sweets may be better, but Ill have to go back another time to find out. Service is also lacking to a degree... my meal was brought out several minutes after the meals of my two travel companions. Isnt it a basic rule of restaurant service to bring out all of a partys meals together?
Perfect, charming, beautiful food, beautiful people. I love this place.
The French Spot is not a trip to Paris.Location: a cute and quirky little shack, but weird when you realize fish and filet mignon are on the chalk board menu for $35.Service: attendants seemed disinterested to me being there. In addition, the set up is strange because the cook is not at the shack. Other customers asked for something on the menu, the special: Roast Lamb and Risotto, but it wasn’t available (shocker).Quality: Not good at all. Almond Croissant: Dry. Pear Tart: Oh, it’s on the menu but not available. Berry Tart: do they know what a tart is? This weird bready, hard, and stale desert that Napoleon would slay someone over.Macaroon: the easiest thing to make and was absolutely kaka. Got the Mandalorian flavor? Tasted like nothing except frozen sugar because it was literally frozen.Overall, if you have never had “French Pastries”, don’t start here. Instead, go visit Farmstead in St George.
Great crepes and fruit smoothies.
Delicious food: crepes, croissants, salads, and fruit tarts. Perfect for take-out.
The desserts are good, but wasnt impressed with the entrees. The food also seems overpriced for what you get, but I would go back for dessert!
If I could give a zero stars I would, worst attitude of staff I’ve ever experienced. Just a food cart with no service. We left! Don’t go!
Tasty little French restaurant. The butternut quiche was phenomenal. Great staff. Beautiful city.
The prices they show on the blackboard are different from what they try to charge you. I ordered a $8.50 breakfast and they tried to charge me $10.60. I corrected them, pointing out the price showed outside for my order and they claimed it was because of taxes. I told them that doesnt add up and their reply was thats what the computer shows. I told them that in that case they need to change the price displayed outside so that it wouldnt be misleading but they ignored me. I despise shady business practices.
This is a 5 star for the quality of food items coming out of this little place .... we travel from northern Utah just to eat here ... the National Parks and Shakespeare Festival are secondary 😋👍
Great food.Language barrier is a minor issue.Nice staff. Not a fast food drive through sort of place. Want 2 minute service? Go to McDonalds.
Not bad... just okay.
Excellent food and low key in this parking lot stand, but dont judge a book by the cover! Very much enjoyed and who knew such a place would be in Cedar City, UT!?!
This place is exceptionally good.
Wonderful and cute, good atmosphere and food. Great spot for a date or a small gathering.
I got the salad and quiche. I was a little underwhelmed. The lettuce was fresh, but the salad was only lettuce-- no tomatoes or anything. Lettuce with dressing and feta cheese. The quiche was good. Not enough to have any leftovers, but a good single portion. I was super excited to try this place so maybe my excessively high expectations made the disappointment worse. Maybe their other dishes are amazing and its just the salad that is lack luster. Also wish they had savory crepes.
Got two dairy free smoothies for my wife and girls. The Mango was very good and the strawberry was an excellent. I will also note I am not usually a fan of mango. We really wish we got the macaroons we were contemplating getting.
Amazing pastries, wonderfully nice man at the window. Our new go to coffee spot when we are in town. Cant wait to get another latte. Thank You
The coffee was amazing! The barista Gaven was very friendly and recommended my new favorite drink! Service was amazing and price was very reasonable
Extremely satisfying quantity and quality of food! Tried their Scrambled Egg Croissants, and delicious salads and they were fantastic. The Nutella Crepe was a very wholesome and rich dessert to top off our meal!
A great little spot to get some delicious baked goods. My sister-in-law speaks French and talked with the owner and our server in French, which was fun for everyone. We got some Almond croissants to share, which were flakey, sweet, light and incredibly delicious (although a very different shape and slightly different texture than I remember from my trip to France). I also tried the pear tart which was an eggy, fruity, crusty delight!Everyone also tried the hot chocolate (except me, being allergic to chocolate) and they all enjoyed the thick, hot drink. My brothers got the ratatouille pasta which they shared. It took quite a while for the dish to be prepared - so if you are ordering something not pre-made, you might want to make sure youre not in a hurry.
Very good! I stop in here whenever I am in town. They have the best sweets and I love their sirloin as well! Worth a try!
I ordered the ham and cheese quiche + salad, and a macaron. The service was adequate, albeit a little slow to acknowledge us standing there. I get that they were busy, but we were standing at the register for about a minute before the guy acknowledged us at all.The quiche was delicious. If this review was based on that taste alone, it would be 5 stars. For $12 though, the quiche was a lot smaller than I was hoping for, a little over 4 inches in diameter. The salad was nothing special, just lettuce soaked in vinegar or something with no other toppings. The macaron was enjoyable, and fairly priced at a little over $2.Overall, I feel like the food was good, but not worth the price for such a small portion.
I got the London fog tea and it was the best tea Ive had. Highly recommend. S/o to Gaven
Place is open currently for take out. Super tasty food and owner is very French and sweet. I had a butternut squash quiche, salad and a peach tart and all of them were excellent. My friend had the smoked salmon and eggs on a croissant and enjoyed it and liked the peach tart so much that he decided he should start eating tarts (but we will have to work to find another one this tasty). The French Spot is located in the parking lot behind number 5 Main Street and if you call him a half an hour before you arrive Michal can start making your food. He is very devoted to the culinary arts.
Authentic French cuisine! The Dauphoins potatoes were amazing! And the Crepes are perfection, just like the original ones🤩
Always love repes! Butternut squash and feta quiche, very good. Salad tangy and yummy.
Very good but could be better still
10/10 experience, would recommend all their food and drinks. Their mocha was delicious and their macaroons are to die for! Gaven was very helpful!!
Wonderful (authentic!!!) food and friendly service are what you will find here! So stinkin’ good it makes me want to fly to Paris tomorrow. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area
The crem brulee is amazing. Menu prices are way too high but never had anything that wasnt good
I go to this place every time I come to Cedar City!! I Love this place!! Highly recommended! If you havent tried this place you are definitely missing out!!
Their bubble tea and scrambled eggs on croissant are a must try!!
The Gratin Potatoes will make you shout Hallelujah. The flavor is most heavenly.
Got a Delicious Creme Brûlée and Raspberry Smoothie. They were absolutely amazing! It’s a cute little place with great customer service. A little pricy menu but still worth it!
Great French food. A bit overpriced, but what do you expect for delicious French food in Cedar. There’s nothing else like it around here. Beware you don’t get too much sweet stuff. I go here for more of a treat and less of a meal. If you come hungry, you’ll probably load up on sugar, feel sick, and overpay. I enjoy the lavender macaroons. You’ll be just fine getting one per person because they’re so sweet.
