Called the store to inquire regarding availability of a spark plug for a jet ski. Provided the person on the phone with a part number which is listed on Advance Auto Parts web site.He said the part does not come up in the system, and that the part number is incorrect. He added that he can lookup parts by the Year Make and Model of the Vehicle. When I tried to explain to him that the part is for a jet ski and not for a vehicle he cut me off mid sentence saying that I just need to bring the old part to the store.I tried to explain to him politely that other Advance Auto Parts stores were able to find the part in their system but it was not in stock and it does not make sense that he cannot locate the part when others stores using the same system could. In response he got aggravated and a said that is how he looks up parts and that I am not the one who will teach him how to do his job.I asked for his name and he hung up. When I tried to call back to see if someone more adequate answers the phone, I found that my phone number is blocked.Called another Advance Auto Parts store in the area. They were able to locate the part in their system by the part number I provided in 5 seconds, then they went to put a hand on it to make sure that the part is in stock. As business owner I understand how negatively bad reviews can impact a business. This review is meant for the brunch manager or for the regional manager to help them address issues in their store to prevent it form going under. I will delete this review in couple of weeks.
Great customer service! The manager was SO helpful with my battery needs, came out to double check the proper size and made sure I was sent on my way good to go. Appreciate it!
This was one of those late 8 hours work days... Never had good ADVANCE but how does a salesperson that cares about his job and really impressed with hiss knowledge. In and out and the other two workers were bringing the customers drinks and peanuts trying to keep them busy tell Lealum was finished....Greatness.MoethemanLealum....Salesperson
Easy to find what you need and staff is very helpful
Returned items yet still haven’t received a refund. It’s been a year. I’ve been told several times that a district manager would give me a call. It doesn’t take this long to get answers. I believe the manager here is doing some fraudulent activity. We will surely be seeing “The rise and fall of advance autoshop” stories in YouTube
Went into Advance Auto in Chantilly Virginia.. which is located at Chantilly Shopping Center ..too ask for the their assistance to help me, because my left rear turn signal went out on my car. Im not mechanically inclined, I however did Google, how to do it but I couldnt get the bulb out. I had asked the man in Advanced Auto can he please help me, he told me he couldnt help me..I understand about policies. Then I asked him can he just stand there and watch me and just tell me how to pull out the bulb without breaking it..he wouldnt even do that, even after I told him that I live here by myself I just moved here and I dont have nobody to help me.. but I have seen them on numerous occasions help people with their car... I dont understand the world today..its just too much to lend a hand to help somebody... shame on them... they would never ever get my business... now if I was by AutoZone they would definitely had helped me
I visit the shops at time 7:23pm today and trying to use my gold membership uber discount customer service name Divide, was rude with me and not allow me to talk when i asking hem kindly can i talk he said now !!, and he keep saying i am uber driver too and only we accept uber credit card !! i know that information was wrong because i used the uber code ID and system was accepting my uber discount!.
I had to exchange my item that I purchased from online, Mr Ronnie don’t want to help me with my exchange or return and he has a major attitude, I ask him call customers service manager or someone who is in charge he did not call anyone, I will give you guaranteed Mr. advance auto parts you’ll be chapter 8 if that guy like Ronnie works ........
Laziest employee working there. Very rude and unhelpful. I picked up some steering wheel covers from the top shelf to get them price checked, after he made me put the rest back on the shelf. Also when I asked him about the use of a product, he responded by saying “Just read the instructions”.
The guys there will really help you out and also way better than autozone
My husband and I took our car to have the battery check because we just had it charged up at the dealership and we wanted to make sure it was good. A older black man with glasses came out after acting like it was a BIG inconvenience for him to help us and hooked the battery up and said “it’s bad and it needs to be replaced”. He unhooked it and walked away and said nothing else. So we got the feeling that he wasn’t being truthful. So we took it to AutoZone and they came right out and were happy to help us and said our battery was 100% charged and nothing was wrong. The ONLY person at Advance that is very nice is Brandon. He is always so kind and friendly to us but this other joker is a rude, unprofessional and a liar.
Nice store good service
The manager at this location just assaulted a customer while I was waiting in line. The look on his face was surreal of what could’ve happened if I was not there as a witness. Management needs to re-evaluate who they have running this show.
They can only honor battery warranties if you still have the paper receipt for the battery. Apparently their computers are still stuck in the 90s they cant just look up when you bought the battery at an advance auto store. Go to Walmart / Amazon / RockAuto instead if you can and youll get the same stuff for a much better deal.
Great service Mr. Lalem was took care of my car needs and replaced the new parts with great customer service!
I was sent to another store to get a part when I got there they said the manager that works here lost that part somewhere we dont know where it is so we dont have it to sell to you now although you just wrote here and we told you we would hold it, form your own review
Every time i go., in the evenings this man do not know his job., can not give u a product by part number ., only by vehicle year., and not even by vin number
They were very helpful
We consistently avoid this store because of Mo, we couldnt return a product that wasnt a right fit, mo couldnt read the receipt, which we clearly can so we called another store to talk sense into him, the store in sterling va is definitely more helpful. Also we came in one time 30 min before closing and Mo said he cant help anyone the store is doing a routine shutdown, I had the part number and just needed to look at it to confirm it was the right part so when I come back in the morning to people who are willing to work, I can get it from them, we interrupted his soccer game he was watching in his phone.
The competitor of Autozone. They have just about everything you could need without having to go through the dealership.Oil, fuel treatment, car accessories, parts, tools, fuel boosters, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and there are always sales going on
I did special order inside the shop. They told me the part will arrive at their location. Immediately afterwards my auto shop told me this isn’t correct part. I asked for refund, and they told me I have to wait for part to arrive first. So I waited... and waited... every time I come here, the reps tell me I have to come another day when the manager is there. I receive no call or update regarding this special order. My order is nowhere to be found. Yet I cannot get my money back until it arrives. After 2 months of going back and forth, I went in again and requested for refund on a part that hasn’t arrived. The store manager pulls it up and it absolutely BLEW MY MIND when he said he couldn’t because “it past 45 days return policy”My parts have NOT arrived in their store yet.
A very good parts shop. They will come to the curb and help you diagnose problems willingly. One of the parts guys was outside helping a Latina figure out what was wrong when I arrived.Good folks!Carry a very good stock of parts.I highly recommend them.
Ive been here multiple times for everything from advice e to diagnostic tools to light bulbs and parts. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra step to help each and every time. As a female, I have treated with respect and without mansplaining. They take me seriously, dont try to upsell me, and never talk down to me. I really enjoy this staff.
Its a good store, however, thepeople who are supposed to help you dont help as much. Most of them dont know much about the cars and refuse to listen to you. Luckily, another sales person showed up and saved the day in3 minutes, hence tfe 3 star, otherwise ilthey deserved only 1.
Ive been to this location several times and the service has always been wonderful! I dont know much about cars but all the employees are quick to help and do their due diligence in assuring Im making the right purchase no matter how busy they may be. Keep up the good work!!
I was looking for a gas strut to replace the ones broken off on my shed by a windstorm. I figured an auto parts store would be a good start since they are used on tailgates. The asst mgr didnt carry the exact part but he went to great lengths to match up one from his inventory. Hope it works. I appreciate all his effort. Thanks
The staff here was very helpful! The location is neat front faced and organized. Things are easy to locate on the shelves.
Manuel in the commercial dept is the best parts guy Ive dealt with over my 25 year career as a Master Mechanic. Hes very knowledgeable, and goes out of his way to help...consistently for years.
Excellent service!
Extremely rude staff. Came in to there looking for spark plugs. The guy didnt even know the difference between a stock number and a part number. When I was trying to get that information from him, he said how am I going to get that if I dont have the part and then just shut down his computer and went to the next computer. I said hey, Im just trying to get the part number. Straight up ignored me. I couldnt believe the level of rudeness coming from this guy.
Guy was unable to tell me if they test motorcycle batteries over the phone and told me to call corporate. I have no idea why he said that but it was awesome. We laughed for hours after this - what a strange guy! I do admire Advanced Autos dedication to the employment of the technically impaired. By the way, they do test batteries.
Worst place to do any business with! They keep in double charging me on parts multiple times, they make every excuse for there short comings and mistakes, but will never get the issue reaol. Listen learned to never deal with these crooks again.
I came for a check engine light helpNobody was there but an old angry lady, after 5 minutes one guy came in and I asked him for help he gave me the device and he said bring me the code, I got the code and I came back and he wasn’t there and the old angry lady with a really bad attitude came to me and she said that that’s it you have to figure it out yourself, I said he said he can check it, and she replied with even more anger that WELL HE WENT ON BREAK You can wait until he comes back and it might take about an hour!!!!That’s embarrassing for this shop!
Worse experience with battery warrantee. Never buy a battery warrantee from Advance Auto Parts because trust me, if your battery dies, it will never be replaced (They will only recharge it). I had my battery charged, and within a week it kept giving me problems. I took it again, and they refused to replace it.All my future battery purchase will be through costco. 100% better than Advance Auto Parts.
Very friendly and always willing to help test and replace a battery or wiper blades.
Fenomenal service!! I just bought a car and 30min from closing he came out and took a look at my car to see if I needed any extra fluids. The gentlemen took his time and cared about the car as much as I did. Love the experience!!! ❤️❤️❤️💁
I had to go back because the battery I bought almost 3 years ago went bad. I had to wait a while for the manager to return but he replaced it with no questions asked. Im very pleased with the service I received today.
Great ServiceProfessional RepresentativesAwesome
Needed my company truck battery changed and Cornelius came through in a timely fashion for me. Greatly appreciated his help and professionalism
Dear advanced auto parts, the woman working at this store gives the worst customer service. Everyone else there are fine. I don’t think I’ll go to this place again.
After watching her take her time with three previous customers, i was quite shocked that the associate who waited on me rushed through my transaction. She then told me to wait and someone would be with me to change my battery.I waited twenty minutes inside and then offered to be the last customer to get their battery replaced. Then after 30 minutes waiting outside, he finaly got to my battery. She made him come back inside to assist her when he was almost done.with my battery. So now Im still waiting.I understand that the store is busy and assumed it would take some time to get this completed. But I am a bit upset that this woman continued to rush my service and didnt even allow the young man to complete my battery install. I have been for over an hour.
Was told that dumping out my used motor oil wasnt required and that I should rather just throw it all away. Please, dispose of your oil properly and do not listen to these idiots, they work at an auto parts store for a reason.
Good inventory, great staff
Good selection, OK Prices, convenient location, they need to work more on customer service training, in this day and age, not sure how they are surviving without training, I wish I could ve given this business more than 3 stars, I might edit my review later if they make a palpable improvement
I was browsing before asking questions and a gentleman immedietly offered to help and gave me further advice to protect my car. Great experience.
Staff are very friendly and very attentive also pretty helpful.
I like to make purchases online where I can apply coupons, then pick it up at the store. The other day, I showed up to pick up an order I made 2 days earlier. Theyre supposed to have my order ready for pick up when I show up, but that didnt happen. I stood there like I usually did waiting for them to get the parts. This time, the parts were out, so they suggested I just cancel the entire order. Well, if they actually assembled my order at the time I made the purchase 2 days earlier, this wouldnt have happened. I was in Rt 50s traffic for half an hour for nothing. Im going to the one in Centreville now.
The selection isnt really horrible considering they have loaner tools and the people are cool, its just the prices and return policy thats out of this world. Im kinda old and have never seen a return policy like that in all my days. Still, it wouldnt be a problem if the computer would send customers a text after signing up with the rewards program, telling them not to open a package unless absolutely sure the tool or part will fix their car. Or sell items in stapled plastic bags or thin cardboard boxes, i dont know. None of the other stores have a problem with repackaging and i grew up learning strong business slogans like customer is always right NOT customer feels ripped off
Chose this store because it was only 1.4 miles beyond a grocery store I had to visit. Needed windshield wiper blades for 2015 Prius. I saw the aisle for wiper blades and saw the computer product finder. Got stuck on which of the dozen or more Prius models there are, but figured all used the same blade size and model. Turns out the interaction with that extremely poor quality computer guide book was the highlight of my trip to the store. Bad store employees, both of them. Had to return one of the blades due to poor diligence from first salesperson. Second one tried to up-sell me on the smaller blade I actually needed. Second one also couldnt walk me through the computerized guide book in the windshield wiper blade aisle. There is no explanation of which side needed what sized blade. He kept telling me he could do better at the cash register. So...horrible customer assistance computerized guidebooks, crass and snarky first team member, and bait and switch up-selling second team member. Am not going back there again. And BTW I tried to contact the Advance Auto Parts customer service department where I thought they would appreciate real feedback without it being aired out in public, but the websites link to follow was nowhere to be found, unless it was the chat link. Yeah, like I wanted to be in a Chatty mood with what I had to say.
Pretty good. If they dont have it they will get it. Only problem is that they are ALWAYS VERY busy... I think its because each customer gets a lot of time with the guy at the desk.
Lacking selection and knowledgeable employeesUpdate - 9/13 most non compus mentis employees Ive ever met. Told me it was in when it wasnt and then ordered me the wrong part anywa. Do not waste your time.
Good prices, helpful employees, and a large stock of odd parts for older cars. I needed a new brake caliper for an 03 Infiniti at 6 pm on a Sunday and they had it.
Their products are kinda overpriced and staff wasnt as helpful as Id expect.
I had some issue with my car battery as it gave me hard time starting up. Someone suggested me to go to the advance autos and I called them and requested if I could stop by and check whats wrong with the battery. A guy checked the battery and said it wasnt fully charged and he was explaining all this to me that his manager came out and asked him to come in very rudely even we were discussing the things. The manager was very rude and had no sense of respect at all bother for customers and staff. I had in my mind to buy a new battery from them as well as to change oil...but that manager changed my mind and gave me time to rethink what I was planning to do i.e. to buy a battery and do oil change. Ill never ever go there nor will recommend to anyone at all.
Quick today, maybe because its raining. Sometimes a line forms pretty quickly.
They are very kind and have great service. 10/10 recommend!
The two associates a man and a woman serving me were so rude. Ill never go there again. That was the worst service ever. They sold me an overpriced battery even when I asked for a cheaper one. Just terrible
The lyrics to the gangster rap that was blaring (first thing Sunday morning) were the most offensive collection of words I have heard in 50 years of listening to music. Really, really bad- and I am no prude.Staff were rude and disinterested, but the incredibly offensive music is why I will buy my parts on Amazon from now on. Terrible experience.
They had what I needed. Retail are isnt that big and prices are ok. People are helpful.
Its fine, not as cheap as online but the workers are helpful
The customer service I received from a gentleman named Brian was great plus I had no clue what the parts where called I needed, and they made sure I found what I needed for my car.
Go here! They are super helpful and lnow what they are talking about.
Worst experience Ive ever had at a store. Cashier left with 4 people in line and said brb Im taking my smoke break. Once she came back from smoking infront of the store she gave attitude because I wasnt aware if needed both high and low bean head lights. Verbatim- sweetie, its common sense, how would you not know that and laughed. Maybe it is, but that is not how you talk to customers. When she gave me direction to find the lights she was rude and kept laughing. Got the lights, checked out and she yanked my card from my hand, didnt say thank you and slammed the card back down and screamed next. I will never come back to this store.
Terrible experience. Sold us a bad battery, wouldn’t give us a refund, and Rodney B. was terribly condescending - called me “my dear.” Won’t be going back! Be careful!
They always have the parts I need in stock.
The guys are extremely helpful. They got caught up with so many things all the times but when they help you, they are very good !
Lazy employees. After waiting in a long line, I was told to wait until there is no customer in the store to have someone to check my battery even there were 3 staffs and less than 7 customers, but there was customers keep coming in.
Good staff. Pretty good selection
I went to this location with my girlfriend today to pick up a radiator for my car. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by Rodney and another younger looking man. I asked the younger looking gentleman to check to see if they had the part in stock and they did, according to their system. He said he would go check for it and be back soon. The young man who was helping took 20 minutes and came back and started assisting other customers without saying a word to us. I ask Rodney to see what the status was on the part and he said the commercial parts employee was checking so we waited another 5-10 minutes and nothing yet. During this entire time, I observe employees, both front and back, vaporing, listening to music and talking on their cell phones.I ask Rodney again to check the part and he immediately became defensive saying the lady was going out of her way to find the part because it is not where it should be in the back storage and that some times their inventory doesnt update so it may not even be here. My girlfriend snapped back and commented on his poor customer service.I became frustrated immediately due to his tone and asked how a radiator would just go missing and who was in charge of their stock and shrinkage because you cant just lose a radiator. He began to stutter and said the questions youre asking wont get you what you need. Im telling you shes going out of her way for you. I found his excuse hard to believe seeing as I have worked for Advanceautoparts several years ago and He insisted on going to another location to find the part, which I began to find suspicious and I felt like I was being inconvenienced due to lack of inventory control or possible internal stealing. In order to not cause a scene, I simply asked for his name which he refused to give out until I mentioned calling the corporate office to make a complaint which I did while in the store.I walked out with my girlfriend and went to another store where respectful and professional employees were.I believe Rodney(I dont believe thats his real name) needs to be give a progressive discipline or fired due to his lack of professionalism and I personally believe there is stealing happening within this store from the internal group.
This customer service here is TERRIBLE! I completed an online order today once i get to the store the worker Joe.M RUDE! I politely asked if he could replace the battery for me and he said he wouldnt be able to until two hours...TWO HOURS really?!? Batteries are a fungible commodity, you can get them pretty much anywhere! Customer service training needs to be done. I was late to work I had to do all the work myself which is fine however if you arent going to do your job at least have good customer service. This place is terrible! Another thing to add after his TWO HOUR comment he goes out and helps someone else.
Manager was very nice and helpful.
Nice . And qualify personnelGood service.
The customer service can be challenging on a Saturday afternoon, say, long wait. But, the people are helpful and knowledgeable.
Quality of merchandise are very low and the staff knowledge is very low
Helpful service. Allows me to borrow tools to fix my tail light in the parking lot
The worst customer service ever I see in my life very unfair anbehavior
My favorite spot for quick fix!
It an auto parts store... good customer service.
Worse customer service on all Advance Auto Parts in the area. They are lazy employees.
The line was long and one person working the register and two people ourside smoking
Just called this place about getting a prius scanned for battery error codes, the guy who answered the phone had no clue what he was talking about and really didnt seem to care anyway. Unreal.
Andy there is kind of a dick, gave me attitude when I wanted to check out.
I work here and love it!
They always have what I need for the price I can afford.
Great selection, loaner tools.
Worst customer service EVER I had to pay the guy $20 to help show me where to pour a fuel...ridic
Great and its local.
Very helpful staff
Lost a regular customer today because you wouldnt refund a $15 oil filter that was incorrectly purchase because the Advance Auto website incorrectly suggests it fits and blamed my research for being bad.
My car was the only car there and it still took 1 1/2 to get an oil change.
Didnt buy any parts here but the customer service was great...wish I got the gentlemans name, but they read the codes on my car, and gave me some quality advice on how to go about fixing the problem...I buy parts pretty frequently for our Intrepid (anyone who owns one knows how frequently Im talking about), and Ill be going here from now on.
Great Service!
Nice service
Only 1 Rep and very high volume
Great service
They had what I needed
In and out quick
