I have been going to Stone Springs Auto for a few years now. Every single time I’ve had excellent service and honest feedback on my car. Once I couldn’t get a ride back to the shop for my car, so the owner came and picked me up. That’s just one example of the above and beyond service I’ve received. This last time I went for my car inspection. Again, amazing service and explanations for every step of the inspection. I highly recommend this shop for anyone needing car repair or inspection services.

I requested a quote through their website to replace front and rear brakes. I got a reply first asking me to bring my truck in for a checkup and then asking me for my VIN (which I gave them), then I never heard anything else. I usually turn my own wrenches and Im not one to drop off a vehicle and let the shop have carte blanche to make whatever repairs they see fit.I followed up on the status of my quote and still was ghosted. I suppose they have enough business and dont need mine.

I live near South Riding, but drive to a mechanic in Fairfax that I have been using for almost 20 years because he is trustworthy. I went to Virginia Auto Service on the recommendation of a friend. They immediately identified me as a new customer and were eager to help me. I noticed was a brand new alignment machine in the bay which is a good sign. The shops service is fast, professional, up-to-date and honest. This may become my new go to shop in my neck of the woods. I will definitely return and recommend them for Virginia State and Emissions Inspections.

TLDR.Though few and far between, I found trust with Stone Springs Auto.Brought my vehicle to the local dealer service shop for state emissions test, where the test was not actually performed due to the check engine light being on. This was rather unexpected, given Id just exited it - left in their service queue - without that light on. In fact, I dont recall ever seeing that light on while the engine was running. Regardless of improbability, still quite possible. [Fast forward] P0705 OBD code was given by service shop. I discovered check engine light would require a $150 diagnostic fee and the likely part fix - together, would cost well over $500.A couple days later, received the RapidPass letter via USPS that the emissions test actually done11 days prior to the in shop emissions test - PASSED. FWIW, the in shop emissions tests dont test (actual) emissions, rather queries the OBD system, but regardless obviates any prior RapidPass road side (actual) emissions test!Funny. I assumed the emissions test were to reduce actual emissions for a cleaner environment and the actual emissions should take precedence. EPA settlements on record would effectively agree, even if their regulatory oversight on these in-shop tests (not much different between states or make and models), are rather myopic, to be euphemistic.After a visit to a local parts store, where I asked the manager which local service shop *they trust themselves* - I visited Stone Springs Auto. They confirmed the OBD code but they went a step further after hearing out the details of my emissions test adventure. After a call to the state emissions help desk they were able to do the state emissions test in their shop - it PASSED.

Had both my safety and emissions test done by this auto shop, Nick was my technician and it was smooth sailing. Very knowledgeable and professional quite friendly too.I live in the area and was glad to have found them so close by....I do recommend this business.

I came here for a check engine light and it blossomed into a battle with the warranty company. Through it all Lonny (Maybe misspelled Im sorry) was extremely communicative and jumped through a lot of hoops holding the warranty companys feet to the fire. In the end a new transmission was installed, its been several weeks and no new light has come on, the truck drives fine, I have recommended them to my family and I would go back again. This is a good shop that treated me well and you should give them a chance.

Awesome experience. Im normally hesitant about getting anything with my car done, since, to be frank, I know very little about them. I had some issues with my vehicle that I was assuming would be large hefty price tag problems but Stone Springs fixed my problems pretty quickly and were highly affordable - even gave me a discount! They also helped educate me about my car and were all very personable. I really appreciated that they took the time to explain some things rather than be patronizing or try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge like I feel many other places do.So, if anyone is having any car issues or need maintenance I can attest that this shop is genuine and a great one to go to! An absolute fantastic shop. Fair, honest, and super customer service. Great place to have work done, they will find the issue and won’t overcharge you for it. Took my car in for transmission issues (wanted a flush), turn out it was a blown motor mount. Replaced motor mount, car runs perfectly again. Super grateful to find a quality shop in the area.

As a woman, Im hesitant to go to a male dominated establishment...but not this place. I never felt that they were trying to BS me into getting additional unnecessary services on my vehicle and the work is top notch. Cordial, professional, courteous staff.

I have visited this mechanic before for minor issues (tire damage) and always left with a good impression. Today, that changed. I made an appointment for transmission service due to check engine code. I was turned away!!! The owner told me that is covered by my powertrain warranty and to visit certified dealer. He was right, and saved me money at his own expense!! He told me to come back if they wont help, but Ill be back regardless!!

I have spent my entire life in the car industry, my last ten years before making a career change were as a technician, service advisor, and then assistant service manager. After making the change I no longer had a shop at my disposal to work on my vehicle so I looked for a local shop with good reviews. My first appointment I made two weeks in advance, it was to have my windows (which were not operational) looked at and if time permitted to check on a vibration I was having at highway speed. I dropped my car off the night before the appointment, the next day I had to call at 1230 to see if there was any info on my car. The person on the phone told me that they are behind and have not gotten my car in yet. No problem, I needed my car for work the next day and told them I’d be there around 430 to get it and they could let me know what was found. When I showed up they were putting my door pane back on my drivers door and told me that they had run out of time to finish the diagnosis but know the motor and switch are good. Not an issue, I understand things happen. They charged me half the daig fee and told me to come back when I had time and they would figure the rest out. A month later I made another appointment, I dropped the car off the night before same as last time. While I was out running errands the next day (at around 130) I realized they had not even looked at my vehicle yet, the reason I know that is because it started snowing that morning and my car was covered in snow still. So I called, asked what they had found. Their response was we are still looking at it we will call you as soon as we know, so they lied. They call me at 4pm and said the problem is deeper then they expected and are running out of time but know the motor and switch were good. NO KIDDING, you figured that out last time! I told them I’d pick the car up because I needed it for work again the next day. They stated that they closed at five and asked what I would like to do with the keys. I told them to lock them in the car. I showed up at 445 and they were already closed and gone for the day (they closed at 5 on Saturdays). When i got in my car one of my screw covers was missing and the other had been broken. I was very aggravated and waited to write this to calm down. If you didn’t want to work on my vehicle the don’t take the appointment. My old Honda isn’t the nicest vehicle but I rely on it.

I recently brought my car in to have a flat tire repaired - this was the first time I had been to Stone Springs. The managers were friendly and helpful and they quickly determined the flat was due to a screw stuck in the tire. They repaired it quickly and I was on my way. Will definitely go back!

I had the displeasure of dealing with this auto shop this week. I went in to get a tire flat plugged and the behavior of the owner was unprofessional, absurd, and extremely threatening to the point where for a second I felt he was going to hit me if I didnt walk away in time for not adhering to his wishes of standing in the sun if I wasnt comfortable sitting inside instead of standing behind the garage in shade or little further away under a tree. At the end of the transaction he apologized several times while saying that he likes people to stand directly in front of the shop in sun instead of anywhere else because those are the rules and I must follow them to be served there.

I have an older BMW Z3 that was having some quirky computer chip coding issues associated with a dead battery. Dolf was incredibly honest, straight forward, very knowledgeable and friendly. He listened to all my concerns, gave me his time with grace, addressed and corrected my issue on the spot. A true gentleman. For sure I will be going back to Stone Spring Auto Center for future auto repairs. This shop and Dolfs team are the BEST!!!!!

Went to get my brakes checked out as they were pretty squeaky. Come to find out, it was just the moister and I had 40% left. It was a decent amount of work but Dolf (owner) took care of me and I walked away feeling like he was my trusted adviser. Ive also had my headlights replaced, and AC fixed here previously. Rates are great, shop is trustworthy and Doff is a hard working man with a great team! My whole family is starting to come now :)

This place is the best. I‘ve been here a few times now for minor things like tire pressure and state inspection/emissions testing. Never had to wait very long and everyone is so nice. I am so happy we finally took our car to Stone Springs. I remember Dolf from when he used to work at another shop. So honest, and I never felt like he was telling me things I did NOT need done on my vehicle. I finally feel like my car is being well-taken care of again. They use ceramic brakes, which are better for many reasons, and to get all 4 of my brake pads replaced?! Beat out the competition, by far. Cannot recommed this place more highly. And since it used to be a Jiffy Lube, you can watch them work on your car. Talk about transparency.

I was changing my car tire today and when I looked away with my tire off, my car fell brake rotor first! It was clearly frustrating, but Dolf from Stone Springs Auto Center did his best to set me up with an appointment as soon as possible. When I went for my appointment, I can see why people love this place. Friendly service and fast (but accurate) diagnostic check. They found out that other than minor dings, my rotor was not severely damage. Also, they did not charge me for the inspection which I was not expecting! They managed to turn my stressful day into a pleasant day!I will definitely come back for other services, and I will definitely recommend my friends to check out Dolf at Stone Springs Auto Center!

Rude and unprofessional

Its so nice to find and old school mechanic shop this day and age. If you are tired of the chain auto mechanics trying to sell you stuff you dont need and just want an honest opinion when your car is in trouble this is where you need to go. Its such a personal place that the owner will sit and talk with you while your car is being worked on you dont get that any more its nice to see. I wont go any where else.
