Went in to possibly buy my 5th Ducati. Salesman (Trell) was great and helpful. I wasnt a huge fan of the way the service department treated me when I asked about some maintenance (lack of, as it turned out) on the bike I was looking at. Not how I am used to being treated at a BMW/Ducati dealership. Maybe I caught the guy on a bad day, but I am definitely turned off by the fact they they are selling a bike like that with it being way overdue on some critical maintenance items. I think Ill be driving to Charlotte unfortunately as I am local to this dealership.

Outstanding Ducati Dealership! From the store manager to the sales department to the parts and service department, everyone was extremely friendly, attentive and highly knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to ensure my first experience purchasing a brand new Ducati was a great success; everything went smoothly with no hiccups, and I LOVE the bike! The store manager Kennys communication throughout the process was outstanding and much better than youd expect from any dealership. Its evident from the first time you step into the dealership that these folks truly care about providing a top-notch purchasing experience. They make every effort to ensure complete customer satisfaction, and I am 100% a very satisfied customer.I highly recommend Champion Honda BMW Ducati to anyone looking for great service from honest, knowledgeable, hardworking folks. I will definitely buy my next bike from these guys...they were wonderful to work with. A+ dealership...THANK YOU!

Labor rate is $110 per hour. The service on my BMW took 58 minutes but the dealer decided to charge me for 2 hours of labor instead ($220). I reached out to bmw North America and was informed that dealers are independently owned and operated that had no bearing over this. Never in my life heard of something like this and will never buy anything here again.

Eric J., Parts Manager took the time to listen and find the parts I needed for my Ride. Its almost impossible to know the name of every part on a bike unless you deal with it on a frequent basis. Hes been doing it for a little over twenty year(s) to find the parts that you need at an reasonable price if they cant order it from stock or from another dealer. He spent well over an hour searching just for one part that I was seeking for my ride. Extremely polite and patient. Thanks again Eric and look forward to doing business with you again shortly.

I bought an 07 K1200GT that needed recall work performed. I live in Wilmington, NC and Champion BMW was between Wilmington and Daytona. I was planning a trip to Daytona for Bike week so, I scheduled the recall work with Quincy, Service Manager. Quincy followed up by making a reservation for me. I had never met them but, Champion BMW was on my way to Daytona. I asked for a new spare key and Sean, the parts guy ordered it and had it ready for me when I arrived. Quincy made sure all our ducks were in a row. When I arrived for a rear wheel flange replacement and fuel flange replacement (recall work), they were ready to service it without delay. To my surprise and appreciation, Quincy took my wife and myself with our saddlebags to the hotel of our choice while they worked on my bike. Quincy kept me right up to date via phone calls and messages. He also contacted my warranty company for some work I asked for on the side. These guys busted their butts to get us back on our journey to Daytona. They discovered that my bike needed some serious clutch work and although I did not have the time to have them repair it all, they worked up an estimate for me for the future. Before I left, Champion BMW, my wife and I felt like one of the family. The shop guys smiled and made easy small talk with us. The front room made us feel comfortable and kidded with us. They accommodated us in every way possible and they had never met us and probably would never see us again as we lived 200 miles away. I told Quincy the Service Manager before I left that, he was the very best Service Manager I had ever met in 40 years of motoring across the USA because he listens to me, he works to get me the best deal, he works to get my bike back on the road, he works for me the customer before he works for Champion BMW. That is customer service by the very definition of the word!! If you are reading this review and live anywhere near this dealership, go by and introduce yourself and look around. You will begin to feel like family very soon. I bought two BMW caps before I left and I think these may be the best made caps in my whole collection. Overall, for 2 days work, they calling my warranty company, dropping me off and picking me up, changing oil on my 07 GT, I got out for less than $175. Quincy made sure that my wife and I had a bottle of water each before we returned to our adventure on the highway to avoid dehydration. After 40 years of riding, I am somewhat jaded to making new friends and scared of being taken advantage of on the road but, Champion BMW on Dorchester Blvd really left me with a postcard memory. By the way, Quincy the Service Manager, went so far as to make an estimated list and cost of repair for my concerns as far as my suspicions of a clutch issue to be addressed by any shop of my choice in the future. I wish I lived in Charleston just so I could go say hey to these folks once in a while. I see that they have a customer event every first Saturday and I urge you to go by there to visit. 4155 Dorchester Blvd. Hello, Quincy, Emily, Sean, and Garrett my BMW GT Technician! Kenny was about to let me know when I reached out to him, quickly we looked at another option and went to check it out. Ended up buying and honestly I went to check that bike due to the time and communication Kenny invested with me. Better yet after two new tires on the house as the weather was bad Kenny offered to trailer the bike to me the next day not only he did but also within the time discussed!Champion earned a customer for life!Thank you!

I had a major 18K mile service done on my s1000xr. After the work was completed. I stored my bike and made two short weekend rides over the course of month. After retrieving my bike from storage for a planned shipping of my bike, I noticed that the transmission was leaking oil. I also noticed that there was missing hardware as well. Due to some things that needed to happen logistically I was unable to get the bike back to Champion for service. Ill be honest in saying that I didnt feel comfortable taking it back to them after noticing some of the things that I found. I wound up having to eat charges associated with taking my bike to a shop that I felt more comfortable with. Im not going to bad mouth the Team there at Champion, but just do your due diligence in checking your bike over after service is performed there. I will say that Kenny the general manager will try to go out of his way to make the situation right. They did help me with some of the charges that were accrued in my bill from the other shop. Needless to say I still had to come out of pocket for the rest. Being that the Team there at Champion did try to work with me, I felt a 3 stars was justifiable for the (from my perspective and experience solely). If I could rank the process I went through in working with Kenny and management to try and resolve my issue after things went awry, Id give it a 4.

It’s not everyday that someone decides to purchase a $40,000 motorcycle, but when you do, you expect to have a higher level and quality of service, courtesy, and treatment.   Championship Honda BMW Ducati cares more about serving themselves than the customer.  Within 900 miles of owning the bike, there was an error with the DES.  I returned with my Ducati and identified the issue so that they could test and correct under warranty.  There isn’t a shop out there that enjoys taking on warranty work due to the pro-rated, hourly rate, that is afforded to the franchise.  I will state courtesy again...I wouldn’t leave my $300 lawnmower outside, but what does Championship do?! They leave my $40k motorcycle outside...I don’t know about you but if I lived in a cardboard box...I would have a big enough box to protect this machine.  It is just respect for the owner to give it the best safeguarding of all aspects while in their possession.  It makes sense though people drop $40k in there like it is $10k at a Japanese motorcycle dealer, but this is a world class name...you pay for that level of courtesy?!?! Not one bit.  As about a week passed, still no solution to the issue....as if running resistance tests off a multimeter was impossible, or volt readings, continuity tests, etc.... simple basic tech things to diagnose a problem.  What is the response, “I’ll get back to you” and “We don’t know” Are you kidding me?! Well as I stated before, no franchise/dealer/owner likes warranty work....so I am hit with a bill of $165, only to be told that the plugs were backwards. Funny the only people that touched them was the dealer.  THIS IS THE DEALERSHIP THAT RUINS IT FOR OTHER DEALERS.  STEER CLEAR!! Also, issue popped up immediately after leaving the dealer and unloading from my vehicle.   Pretty awesome, I have magic plugs that change on their own, I guess that is what I paid $40k for.

Esp since they sell Ducati and BMW.One review complained about prices? If someone thinks that its too much money to get your bike serviced at a dealership by a trained technician- go to a local garage and get it done by someone who never hooked up a bike to a computer. Easy. I spent 5 hrs there and felt very confident in everything they did. Just for not getting confidence lacking answer on any question about my Ducati, ill spend xtra(if that was the case) to go back.Thank you Quincy, Matt, management, all of you.Paul

I was/am a first time customer with Champion and I have probably written 3 reviews on products in my entire life. I have, however, bought and sold many motorcycles, ATVs and the like over the years. When shopping for my next BMW motorcycle, after having had bad experiences with two other BMW dealerships in the region, I decided to try Champion.I did the entire transaction over the phone and still have not physically been to the dealership but I am hoping to do so soon. I ordered the bike so the worst part was waiting. I initially dealt with Grant who was not pushy but polite. Due to Grant being unavailable for a period I started dealing with Kenny. When my bike came in, Kenny called me and sent me pictures of it being uncrated and put together. Even a couple videos after normal hours! He then, delivered it to me personally the next day as he knew I was ready to have it but due to work could not make the 2 hour trip until that next weekend! Thanks again Kenny!A few weeks later I had a unique situation come up and needed to work with the parts department. It was a very unique situation and Eric went above and beyond to help me out. He kept me approved of his plans to try and help and even texted me after hours from his personal cell phone. In the end, I had to send a part down there and i I was told it was repaired by the owner personally because he can fix anything. They sent the part back to me after the component required came in and did not bother nickel and dining me with postage. Thanks for going above and beyond Eric and Randy? (I have not spoke to the owner yet)This dealership, thanks to people like Kenny, Eric and Randy have earned my business forever and I would highly recommend them for anyone who is looking for a huge improvement over most other dealerships out there! Thanks guys - Will

I told them I was still very interested and they said they would contact their finance guy who was out at the time. I didnt hear from them for a week so I emailed them. No answer. Ducati asked me to follow up with a local dealer after 500 miles of riding and after the repairs.I introduced myself to the owner of this dealership (north Charleston) and he wouldn’t even let me finish explaining what happened. He cut me off and told me that another customer of his purchased the exact same motorcycle (939SP) and the problem was that he simply didn’t know how to shift calling me a bad rider (I’m on my 4th bike 2nd Ducati with 10 years experience). Coincidentally, the customer they were referring to with the same bike had wrecked and his bike was at the dealership! The owner of this dealership continued to tell me I didn’t know what I was doing and accused me of asking for free labor before I could even finish explaining what happened. He treated me like an idiot. It wouldn’t surprised me if the customer who wrecked the same bike and who was also having the same issue was simply ignored by this cocky business owner instead of consulting Ducati like my amazing dealer back in PA did.Bottom line...... I wouldn’t let this dealer change a tire on my bicycle in fear of my own safety and simply because I would never give a person so disrespectful my business.

My 05 BMW R1200RT stalled on I-26 south of Columbia SC. Theres no dealership in Columbia so I limped to Champion Honda BMW Ducati of Charleston SC. Master Technician Ben Goff was fantastic. Within few minutes he stopped what he was doing and began diagnose my bike. After the error code were displayed, it was determined most likely the electronics on the fuel pump. Ben advised that my issues had only happened one or two times that he can remembered. Unfortunately, they did not have the part. However, it can be FedEx overnight. Ben was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. He gave me few options and wasnt trying to sell me anything. Next day, part came in on time as promised. Ben installed the part along with replacing a new fuel gauge strip which is notoriously bad on R1200RT, under warranty. I left there feeling confident and not ripped off. I would highly recommend this place. I wish I had a dealership with Master Technician like Ben in my town. Thank you very much.

They got the maintenance done quick, and communicated with me throughout the process to give me updates. This review is being given months after the service, so I have had time to ride and I can say it still rides just as great as it did the day I drove it out of the shop.In response to the negative reviews youll find here, including the one particularly scolding their Ducati service expert, Randy: perhaps things have changed since those reviews were made. I told him I would look for a co-signer. he asked for a $100 deposit to hold the bike till I could get back to him, I was lead to believe it would be refundable by him and that it was just so he could put something on the books. I called no more than 2 weeks later attempting to contact him to no avail to inform him that I couldnt secure a co signer, and request the refund. I was told that the message would be passed on and refund processed. I didnt look into it any further and let it slip my mind. I never received the refund and while its not a huge deal and I should have known better than to put the deposit down I feel it was shady business practice.

**********WORST BIKE SHOP IN CHARLESTON***********This shop has no clue on what they are doing, they take your money give horrible customer service and break your bike so you cant ride it, thats what they did to me.HARRY IS NOT THE GENERAL MANAGER, NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS RANDY THE IS THE OWNER, HARRY IS HIS PUPPET. THEY TRICKED ME INTO LETTING RANDY KEEP BREAKING MY BIKE BY LETTING ME THINK HARRY WAS IN CHARGE. AFTER RANDY BROKE IT THE FIRST TIME I ASKED FOR SOMEONE IN CHARGE AND HARRY SAID HE WAS AND THAT HE WOULD GET EVERYTHING HANDLED, OH I GOT HANDLED TO THE TUNE OF $1900 FOR A REPAIR AND THE BREAKING OF MY TRANSMISSION SO IT NO LONGER IS RIDEABLE. WHEN I ASKED RANDY TO TRANSFER ME TO THE GENERAL MANAGER SO I COULD COMPLAIN HE SAID REMEMBER ONE THING HE WORKS FOR METHAT SEEMS LIKE DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES IF YOU ASK ME.I HOPE THESE GUYS GO BANKRUPT AND STOP HURTING GOOD PEOPLES BIKES, LOOK AT THE OTHER COMMENTS, THE ONES THAT ARE GOOD ARE SHORT AND SWEET CAUSE THEY ARE FAKE! DO NOT GO HERE!

My experience with Champion Honda has been a generally positive one. Have had my 2004 599 in there twice in the past two years. Had the valve lash checked and although they did not need adjusted, I thought the price for the labor and comfort in knowing I was within spec was worth the $200. Next time, I took the bike in for tires and brake pads. They recommended Michelin but I went with Dunlop instead. The quoted price for the front and rear Dunlop Qualifers were very expensive! I asked the parts guy if they price matched and they said absolutely. Literally, we went to the website right at the desk, I showed them I could get these tires from Bike Bandit for a much lower price, free-shipping, and without question, he gave me the exact same price, awesome! Now for the brakes pads, I replaced them with OEM pads all-around and they were expensive. After a few hours of riding, I heard a sound that was all too familiar as I had made this mistake before when replacing brake pads on my WRX. Basically, the Technician forgot to put grease on the backing plates and corners of the pad assembly (the floating regime and where the piston hits the backing plate). I rebuilt those in the parking lot (took all but 40 min in total), but needless to say this was a bit disappointing and my only small complaint at this point. I agree with some of the comments on here that price for bikes seem rather high, although I am not a new bike kinda guy so I am never really going to pay much more than $5k for a bike. I do although like to keep an eye on their inventory as they get some very nice older Honda CBs once in a while. Again, prices seem very high so may stick to the Ads, word-of-mouth or Craigslist for older models. Unless they get an OG Indian Chief, then maybe I will up my budget. The Checkout lady and parts department have been helpful for sure, but its usually better to do some homework before going there. The guys in the back seem to always be down for conversation about almost anything, cars, bikes etc... so this is refreshing. Anyways, just thought I would fairly mention all my experiences with this Dealership. I would recommend.

I bought my 04 honda vtx from champion for $5000 out the door with only 9000k miles. Velocity had an 05 with 20k miles and wanted $8k! Even on craigslist, I could not find one under $6500. The vtx had aftermarket exhaust and was in great shape. I had them debadge it (remove Honda markings). In two years, I have put 15k miles (and I also have an 04 american ironhorse chopper) with no problems. I always call Harry when I have questions. The guy many people mention in the bad reviews is no longer at Champion (I believe).
