I had the misfortune of my car breaking down while on a road trip. The silver lining to this cloud was Honest-1 Repair Shop! The tow truck brought my Mercedes to this shop because it was about the only one open on Saturday afternoon. Sky helped me get setup for the repair and expedited the process of getting my car fixed. She and the technician were able to get me back on the road before they closed. I cant say enough of how friendly and quick they were to deal with. Im so glad my car broke down near them!
Honest-1 Auto Care not only came to the rescue and saved us, but they also provided outstanding service, and additionally, they took the time to explain everything and to show us and teach us what we need to do in the future. My service ended in small claims court (!) Which we won - they actually left mine and others out after hours and had someone come by and cut off our catalytic converters! Took MONTHS before it was settled. This was AFTER they had to completely replace the AC Compressor AGAIN!But Sky was awesome.
What a great experience with a car repair shop. Up front, honest, fixed everything without up sells, unneeded extras, etc. Quoted price was the actual charged price. Will definately be doing business here again.

I never write reviews, but Google asked me about my experience and Ive got the time today so buckle up.They tried to charge me over $1,100 for an alternator, a serpentine belt, and a negative battery terminal. (I only needed the alternator) and I have a totaled 08 hyundai sonata 🙃 tried to get it towed out of the shop and they then charged me $37 and gave me a comprehensive report that just said towed to shop. Battery appears to be dead.Thanks for charging me almost $40 to tell me two things I informed you of before I got my car there? Not to mention nobody told me there would be a charge until suddenly the tow truck driver wasnt able to pick up my car because I had to pay my balance. Ended up getting the alternator fixed for under $400 including labor elsewhere.To be fair, Im mainly holding a grudge because they really tried to rip me off the day after my grandma died and my car got towed to car jail after it died downtown :/That being said, Id still rather let Hellen Keller check out my car before I took it back to this place.0/10, would not recommend 👎
Came across town for an appointment and was told upon arrival they need to reschedule because their alignment guy left for the day. I understand things happen. The one star is for no call to let me know.
Will never be returning to this business. Called ahead to ask if they mounted and balanced tires. They said they do and I asked how much to do so. I was told $25 a tire, and I then mentioned I had a pick-up truck and asked if that was going to be an extra charge. I explained they were the same size that would come on the truck stock, not an oversized tire by any means. I get there and they try to tell me it will be $40 a tire. They told me this is because its larger than a car tire and would require more time. I told them I was told $25 over the phone and I am no dummy, these tires take no more time than a car tire. They agree to $25 a tire to mount and balance. Upon picking up the truck it was clear they did not balance the tire. The last thing they are is Honest

Unsure of the issue got the car back n it was smokin. I was told it was coolant. So they dont use a funnel... They free poor. They have a LONG way to go to make a good reputation west Ashley. Took my car to the dealership where I bought it got a loaner and $150 less than what they wanted to charge. This is just my experience. Im done
Beware. Exact words were- “It was $159 to diagnose A/C system properly because they had to do recharge and EVAC” making it perfectly clear that it was $159 for diagnoses and EVAC. She conveniently forgot to disclose the additional $155 “diagnosis fee” on top of the EVAC… essentially charging me $450 for an oil change and to tell me something I already knew.
I wish I could give 0 stars. I hate when companies try to rip people off & they tried to do that to me. All I needed was a new battery and they tried to convince me that I had a bigger problem. I’m so glad I got a second opinion. Beware of these scammers.
SKYE B, Office Mgr & assistant do whatever is necessary to get a car back on the road as quickly as possible, even when I said no rush, they were right on it. There is so much activity going on for two people in the front office, welcoming a new customer, answering the never ending phone calls and researching parts with the customers wallet or pocketbook in mind. The techs works wonders in auto knowledge that makes the front office looks good.
AMAZING service! From dropping my car off to having my car delivered back to me for free to my work place, I could not have had a better experience. I even received a sweet surprise when I entered my car to find cookies and a personalized note from the technician who completed my oil change. We have been going to this location for a while now and just now finding out after having to pay A LOT over time we finally decided to get a second opinion for the services Honest One said we needed.... they were wrong. Trying to charge me $1200 for a few things, but no I walk in somewhere else and it was only $560!They will write your invoice up for the worst-case scenario not what’s truly needed.Would not recommend. Compare you prices.
We got an oil change and liked the service we received from Skye and her team so much we made an appointment for an alternator repair.
Update: Went to another repair shop and got the problem fixed for $10. Had nothing to do with low tread on the tires. These people have stopped trying to provide any sort of decent service and instead try to maximize profits at the customers expense. Continue to avoid coming here.The name is an irony. There doesn’t seem to be anything “honest” about this place. I came here after not coming for a few years (they tried to overcharge me when I came a few years ago) to get some vibration in my steering wheel checked out. I would have gone somewhere else but all other mechanics were booked and I had a trip coming up very soon. They made me an appointment but then when I got there said they’d get to my car when the next mechanic was available - so the appointment was useless. While I’m waiting I experience two scenarios that I think describe the essence of this place. The first was the mechanic that ended up looking at my car giving serious attitude to the lady at the front desk. Clearly the team members do not respect one another. The second was one lady at the front desk explaining to the other that she hates a specific type of transaction because they don’t make much money on it and that she preferred another type that made then more money. They made me sign a form authorizing work on my car which asked how much of a charge I was authorizing. I asked how much I should write there and the lady at the front desk said to just leave it blank and that it shouldn’t cost anything unless they had to fix something. They check out my car, tell me the reason for the vibration is because I have low tread tires in the front and high tread on the rear and that I needed new tires. No alignment needed. Didn’t really make sense to me probably because it was the lady at the front desk explaining it, not the mechanic - which is their standard. The lady then said the final charge was $66. I asked why she didn’t tell me it was going to be that much before I authorized work and she got all confused. The other lady at the front tells me to give them a few minutes to finalize the charges. I do and when I come back she says the final charge is $20. Frustrated, but happy to get out of there after wasting my time, I ask if there is a military discount. She says they do. So the supervisor comes over, looks aggravated, and takes off a disposal fee which was like a dollar or so. Tells me there is no standard military discount. As I said earlier, the essence of this place preys on people who assume they are honest. They have no Team cohesion, no standard for charging or communicating how much they will be charging you, and they just want to maximize profits. Save yourself the frustration and go to one of the other higher rated mechanics in the area.

Do not trust them...they makeup fake issues. I suspected this on a few occasions and recently was told I needed a $500 repair, I had it check by an another certified mechanic and there was nothing wrong.
They are NOT joking about the honest part! I needed a new tire, thanks to a really aggressive nail I managed to pick up. They saved me $300 by suggesting I buy a tire elsewhere. They are just good people there. We will definitely take all our vehicles there in the future.
Update took my truck to another shop today and I am getting my brakes fixed for $325! Im so glad I did not go back to honest1 auto!!!! I would have spent up to a thousand or more with honest1....Im so upset. After spending 600 dollars ( not including the $250 part that I purchased from autozone) on fixing a leak I now have break issues. It does not make any sense. I went and bought the part and than dropped it off with my truck (small ford) off at 430 Tuesday and picked it up at 400 today (Wednesday). Start to drive it and halfway home and I realize a not good noise when I stepped on my brake.... ugh okay what. It did not do that before I dropped it off...??? and than I call them about it and Im like why did you not say something about it?? You had my truck yesterday evening and all day today. They called me several times throughout the day regarding several additional cost etc.. and nothing was mentioned to me on those calls about my breaks nor when I went to go pay and pick the truck up. The guy told me that the mechanic who drove it noticed it but never mentioned it to him. THEY HAD THE CAR LIFTED WHEN FIXING THE LEAK.. HOW CAN A MECHANIC NOT HAVE NOTICED THE ISSUE... I dont know maybe they could not tell. He said he had to chase the guy down who worked on my truck and he said yea something was rubbing. I relayed to him that this puts me in a bad spot bc I explained that when I dropped off the truck that I am going on vacation and need it to be fixed so that Im safe. Honest auto care.. seriously? Than the guy had the nerves to quote me a best case scenario of $750 to $800 for new roaters etc which is something that a mechanic would notice when the car was lifted up while working on the replacement of a power steering box... they noticed other things and called me about it which I paid for... He then says they may be able to fit me in tomorrow. Knowing how they called me continuously throughout the day about additional costs for the leak which wasnt even including the part bc they didnt have it and I purchased it from autozone - what other additional prices were they going to tack for fixing my breaks. I feel tooken advantage of and they had no sympathy as far as me having transportation. You think that they would of at least offered me a discount for there lack of communication and offered to get it taken care of first thing in the morning or maybe to stay an extra hour to fix it. Remember when companies had respect and loyalty for there customers?? Probably not... I just didnt get how I had no break problems before I took my truck there and now I do... with no mentioning of the issue untill I called them about it after noticing it on my way home. Honest care...? I could have been a long time customer.. but no when it comes to being a women you want a honest mechanic who is willing to fix the issues and not over charge you.
For fast efficient and extremely friendly service, look no further. The staff here is fantastic and are willing to go the extra mile to service you. And the surprise treat at the end is pretty sweet.
Prices were plenty high but I can’t complain too much because our car broke down while we were visiting in Charleston and they got us in and out in one day 💯

Honest-1 was great! My car broke down a mile away from this shop and I went to the nearest auto repair shop. I’m pretty inexperienced with car troubles, but Skye and Barney were super helpful, informative and friendly and I was able to get back on the road quickly, after Barney taught me how to drive manual in my automatic car. They made my stressful experience so much better, I couldn’t be more grateful!

I came in to get my truck tuned up. Once I got my truck back, it was running way worse than before. I left them a message with no returned call, and once I did get in touch with them, all they did was argue with me and tell me I was wrong. Horrible business and the mechanics have no clue what theyre doing. 600$ down the drain, thanks Honest-1!
The staff was punctual and fast with excellent service. The reception area was tastefully decorated. The mechanics found a problem that needs to be repaired and I was emailed an estimate of cost quickly. Wish I had come here a few years ago to have all my car repairs done.
My experience was awful at the Honest-1 Auto Care West Ashley location, their name including Honest is ironic and deceiving. I was traveling from out of town, and the staff was well aware of my limitations and that I did not have a home to stay at. I dropped my car off on Friday morning, and was told it would be repaired Saturday by close of business. Saturday evening they called me and said the final part was not in stock, therefore the car wouldnt be ready until Monday. I understood. On Monday, I hadnt heard anything from Honest-1 the entire day. I finally called around 3:30 to ask when I could pick up my car. The front-desk employee who answered said my car wouldnt be ready that day. I asked to speak to a manager, who was out of the office at 3:30 in the afternoon. The manager never called me back. I finally called another Honest-1 location and spoke to their manager. They provided the owners information. The owner understood my frustration and said theyd call the manager and have them call me back immediately. The manager never called back. Finally, around 5:00 pm, the front-desk employee explained that the part didnt arrive and wouldnt arrive until Tuesday. However, the technician who had been working on my car wasnt scheduled to work on Tuesday. I cant understand how Honest-1 knew very well that I was traveling from out of town, living on a friends couch, and missing work while my car was repaired, and they wouldnt adjust the technicians schedule to fix my car so I can go home. Eventually, I had to pick the car up at 2:00 pm on Wednesday after the technician finished the repair. My AC is working great, but the customer service couldnt have been worse. I have never felt more disrespected and ignored as a customer. I am appalled at the lack of communication by both the manager on duty and the owner.
Horrible management!! Have appointment, drop off for hour, come back and car hasnt even been touched but all the cars there were new in the bays.. Then after asking what was the reason/problem, the manager comes in with a salty attitude and tells us they are slow today and we would have to reschedule.. WTH!?! Other customers were complaining also while we were there. Never go here, service and management are rude and sucks!! #LostOurBusinessForeever

Called last minute - AC busted, nail in tire and overdue for oil change (all taken care of within a couple of hours). This place sets a new bar for auto repair. Professional, knowledgeable and timely service w a shuttle van so you can drop off get a ride back to work and know your car is in good hands. Recommended without any reservations. My rear brakes were making noise so at 4:15 I took my Santa Fe to Carmax where we bought it. They said they were doing their last appointments of the day and couldn’t help me. I was traveling and needed them fixed. Fortunately they recommended Honest-1. I took my car there and they replaced brake pads and rotors on both rear wheels. They stayed late to get the job done and got me back on the road. I could not have been happier with the job and willingness to help me.
I made an appointment for an oil change in the morning and let the staff know that I only had an hour for lunch. The moment I came in, they remembered my call and immediately got my vehicle moving. They were so fast that my car was on the lift before I could get my phone charger (totally my fault - who knew they’d be so fast!). The entire process was finished in 40 minutes and I was able to eat and get back to work in time. They also did a vehicle check-up and left notes on the receipt about potential issues that I may need to look in to in the near future. I’ll be back for sure!
Once again Honest-1 Auto Care kills it with customer service! I was in Charleston for work when my AC went out in the middle of July. I went 25 minutes out of my way to come to this shop because I received amazing service from the on in Charlotte and knew that theyd do their best to fix it. I arrived at 4:15 and they went above and beyond for my car. They even called back people who had left for the day to come and try and fix it. Unfortunately the problem ended up being a lot more than I was expecting so I did not have them replace the whole AC system, but they were incredibly kind and helpful while I was there. I was incredibly impressed by the manager, Skye, and always love to see ladies killing it in a male dominated industry. Shes very knowledgable and helpful. I would recommend this shop to anyone whos in the Charleston area and in need of car repair. Thanks Honest-1 for being great as usual!
DO NOT take your vehicle to Honest-1. They are DISHONEST and will tell you there are things wrong with your car as they lie to you. Read through their reviews carefully and NOT the reviews on their website that are clearly fabricated. Go to YELP. Go to the Better Business Bureau. Go to Facebook. And ask your neighbors and other local mechanics. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN
I was very pleased with the customer service I received, I came in for A/C repairs and Skye was very knowledgeable and professional, she told me there would be a little bit of a wait since I didn’t have an appointment. When they diagnosed my problems, she came to me and sat down with to explain everything in specific details, I never felt pressured to have any work done that I didn’t want done. I will definitely return for any other repair needs in the future!!
I got an oil change here and had a great experience. Honest-1 is located near my house, so convenience was a big factor, but they were also featured in a local newspaper recently. Honest-1 is a franchise and a lady from James Island runs the company, and when you visit, you can tell its a very lady-friendly car care facility. In fact, this is one of the few auto care establishments where a female helped me at the desk.First, the waiting area is quite nice. It has cushy chairs, ipads, satellite TV, and a play area for children. You can also get complimentary coffee, soda, bottled water, juice, and some snacks like donuts and cookies were out for us. There were some magazines and newspapers out to read, and everything was current, not outdated.I had a coupon for the oil change and it was honored with no questions asked- you can find coupons on their website. They recommended a few services, but nothing major and did not try to sell me on things I didnt need.The coolest part was going out to my car to leave and finding a thank you note and a package of Oreo cookies in the front seat. How fun is that? I will definitely use Honest-1 for future oil changes and car maintenance.

Honest-1 has been great to me. Theyve done fantastic work on my familys trucks and cars over the years! Skye, up front, has been a great help every time Ive gone. Always feel at home when I walk through the door there. I never really feel pushed towards extra parts or services. Good, clean work at a great price. Cant ask for much more than that.
They were terrific! Had a tire that was losing air. Took a chance, stopped in without an appointment. They were able to patch the hole, and get me back on the road quickly. They were very friendly, professional and inexpensive. Will definitely go back!
I made an appointment for 12 today and get there on time. I asked how long it would take for a simple oil change as was told 90 mins to which I said fine and Honest-1 dropped me off at home and said they would pick me back up when my car was ready. At 1:56 I called back to ask about my car as I had told them on drop off that I needed to be on the road by 3 to pick up my kids from school. It is now 3:31 and I have been waiting to get picked up from my home to go get my car back since 1:56, with numerous calls to Honest-1 and reassures that someone was on the way. I’ve had to arrange for someone else to rearrange their day and get my kids. This is unexceptionable and bad business practice. Let’s say I will never use the place again

I firmly believe them to be honest based on their straightforward communication and the fact they dont make up problems that need to be fixed. As a customer, I dont feel like their bottom line is the dollar but rather integrity and good service. Props also for being really kind and generous. These guys need more recognition. First time having auto service done since living in the West Ashley area and figured we would give this location a try.The lady at the front counter Amanda is very polite and professional .To me they are a bit pricey for their service but perhaps thats the going rate in this area. We were use to great service and better prices in Georgia where we relocated from. I do know they have close to a 30% markup on their partsOther than the initial shock of sticker price we were pleased. Although we did have to wait an hour past our scheduled appointment
Have gone through 2 sets of rear tires in 2 years and have paid for everyone even though they are the ones that have done all the alignments they continued to wear on the inside all the way to the cords. Put two tires on the rear this time and were not the same brand I have always had them put on and the rim sticks out past the tire instead of being flush. Will not be coming back after I have them the benefit of the doubt time and time again. Not to mention charged me $100 for an oil change. Lol biggest rip off.
A mechanic friend recommended this company so I brought my wifes car here for a second opinion when we were skeptical about an expensive repair proposed by the dealership. Honest-1 solve the issue for 1/10 the price (not kidding).

I had the AC condenser replaced in my 15 Chevy Silervado in under 24 hours!!! The 3 Chevy dealerships in the area didnt have any availability for 3 weeks!Highly recommend this business to anyone looking for quality work & a reasonable turn around time.Thanks!
We were charged $800 to replace a thermostat, a 2” hose, refill antifreeze and put our vehicle on the diagnostic machine.Complete rip-off and NOT EVEN apologetic about it.!For example the labor charge to pour in the antifreeze - $75!!
Went there with a speaker and transmission issues. While they were not able to duplicate the transmission issue, they were able to order my speaker and told me what to do if I had another transmission issue so they may better assist me. They did all of this and was able to work with CarMax so I didn’t have to pay ANYTHING!!!!!
Even though my truck has been hard to diagnose as to the exact cause of the problem, they have done everything they can think of to correct the issue without costing me a lot of money trying different things as other garages have done in the past. They really treat you like family instead of simply money signs walking in the door. I just moved here and deliberately searched out an Honest 1 shop since I had such a great experience at the one I used to go to in Atlanta area. Havent used a shop other than Honest 1 in almost three years and dont plan on it! Great service, great people! I feel like family!
Honest-1, not so honest. Was looking for closer location as a go to for maintenance on my f-150. Tried out their oil change. Was asked if I wanted to get tires rotated. I asked how much, which I was told $14.95. I agreed to it and picked up later. Tire rotation was now $24.95 on my bill, I asked what happened to $14.95. I was told thats where it starts, because I have a pickup, its $24.95. I asked my buddy who was there when I dropped off if I misheard. Nope, she said $14.95. Then I get in truck and oil change sticker has me due again in 3 months or 3k miles. It was a synthetic blend, which is 5k miles or 6 months. Ford even uses 5k/6 month interval when I get it changed there. Not here, so someone that is trusting them for proper interval is getting taken advantage of. Ironic given the name of the place. Im giving 3 stars purely because they are polite when theyre screwing you.
TERRIBLE! Honest and integrity? Yea right, talking points only. They can’t keep an employee (which speaks volumes) so get ready for your vehicle to sit there 30+ days, you will get an apology and excuses but that’s it.Oh and they will go up on the quote several hundred dollars, so be prepared for that.I’ll never do business with these people again and I wouldn’t get a free oil change here. Do not choose “Dishonest-1” for your vehicle needs.UPDATE* very next day had to take my vehicle back in the shop did to several things not routed correctly, wore harness not bolted down, vacuum hose not connected etc. had to use the garage as my own and work on my own truck
My first time was amazing with David and Ali.I was sold by kindness and honesty and so they gained a new customer!Went a second time and was greeted by Skye right in the parking lot . She was amazing! Very knowledgeable and detailed along with Kevin who both provided me with more than enough details about my vehicle and sources and tips about my car, the condition, and gave me the right reccomendations, and worked with me to ensure that it was affordable and to top it off I was never pressured to move forward with anything that I didnt feel comfortable with.Overall I am impressed with the service and kindness of the employees. Such great people, they really make you feel like family!P.S. to the bag of brown coins that I will forever remember :)

I never witnessed them miss a beat. More importantly, they managed every beat with pleasant smiles!!!The Manager, Skye Brasington, was a true gem from the moment she answered the phone down to the moment I drove away. Technician, Chris Lloyd, pulled my car out of the bay and delivered my keys with a friendly smile, hello, and thank you.This was my first experience with HONEST-1 but it will not be my last. Skye informed me of many other services HONEST-1 offers in addition to just needing a fix on the fly.Good to know there are still good people, doing good work, and making the customer super happy.
Despite making an appointment I spent 2 hours for a simple oil change here. Everyone understands that places get busy, but if youre gonna make someone wait 2 hours for an oil change, maybe give some sort of apology or discount? In addition it was the most expensive oil change Ive ever received! This was my first time here and I will definitely not be back.
Honest-1 is amazing. The two women who worked with me, Alli and Skye, were great. They took care of my car and made sure I got the best value when I needed it. I would recommend this place to anyone, and Alli and Skye definitely deserve a raise.
Pretty ironic that the name is honest-1 because that doesnt describe their services at all! Poor customer service- we were stranded in this area while on vacation due to our brakes failing. We brought it in on a Saturday morning as they said theyd be able to do a quick brake inspection. We left and were waiting for their call. Had to call them 3-4 times to get an update, upon which they said they would call me back within a half-hour and that they were working on finding the problem. Didnt give us a call back until 1/2 hour before they closed for the weekend. Told us it would be $2,000 just for labor!! TWO THOUSAND dollars to get brake lines fixed and they kept changing their story about what was wrong. Very conflicting stories. Almost gave in because we were so desperate to get home. Luckily, we found a way to get the car home. Took it to another shop where they quoted us $400 total and found the problem in under one hour! Told us that Honest-1 was ripping us off and was lying about what was wrong, all which confirmed what we thought to be true. DO NOT GO HERE.
My alternator gave up on my commute home and I fell two blocks shy of my goal of pulling into Honest-1. One of their techs noticed my car on a test drive and brought a jump box out to get my vehicle back on the road. Skye was helpful and courteous, checking me in and promptly ordered an alternator near the end of their business day. Alex replaced the alternator and turned the car around in less than 90 minutes, just past their normal business hours. I wasnt expecting same day turnaround and Honest-1 completed the job at a fair price. Thanks!
I completely regret ever going here. The first time I went here, I brought my truck in for an alignment, they told me I needed new brakes and rotors. I got the brakes and rotors done which they charged a ridiculous amount for, but they never actually did my alignment. Called later in the week because now my brakes/tires are making a new squeaking and grinding noise (which they said was the heat shield....) and still needed an alignment. Brought it back in, still didnt do the alignment and it is still making the noises. Also when they tell you its ready, be prepared to wait an extra two-three hours because both times they said its ready to be picked up, it was still on the lift being worked on when I showed up and had to wait hours..... I do not recommend going here....
Honest and trustworthy
They need to change the name. I had to literally call daily for n update on my vehicle. Was not happy with the way that I had to wait on my vehicle for days and still they did not complete or even acknowledged some of the issues in question. Now I have to take my car back to the actual dealer in order for honest repairs to be done.

You mean Dis-Honest 1??Originally we came in for a simple alignment. A few days with no car and $800 broker, apparently we needed an axle, and a few other things.My step father asked if there was any other problems that needed to be addressed than an unknown oil leak. He was reassured that was it and if there were any other problems to return the car and they would check it out.well, on the way home, the car was still pulling a hard left. hmm?? Ok, so was there not an alignment done? We called and they just said to bring it back. So the next day we brought it back, apparently it was aligned, once again we pick it up and surprise, surprise!!! ITS STILL PULLING TO THE LEFT! Called again and they said the mechanic that worked on the car already went home?! REALLY?! we just left there.So long story short, there machine for the alignments was down and were getting ready to have it fixed (brought the car back). NOW 3-4 days without a car AGAIN the receptionist calls us to tell us we need a new rack and pinion ALSO it was gonna cost over $400?!Nope, not worth it. Had another mechanic look at it from another company and no, we dont need a new rack and pinion.Got the car aligned and all is well.Never again will we ever come to these guys. The receptionist is awesome and super sweet! But other than that, screw this company. Waste of time, and waste of money! Do your research and dont be fooled.
Great place! I needed work done and staff was so helpful. They explained what needed to be worked on and didnt pressure me into doing all of it at once. Definitely going back.
Great staff. The lobby is nice. Free drinks while you wait. They try hard to work with you and can give you a ride if.it turns out your car needs to stay longer for work. Nice people
They redone our entire brake job that the one on College Park Road did. Even put in a master cylinder!! These are the most kind and honest people working there. Id recommend this place to everyone!! Thanks HONEST ONE in West Ashley!!
Went for ac compressor replacement my dashboard was melted because a technician left a clipboard on it had a very hard time getting them to replace it with a new one and I had to put freon in the new compressor my self sure hope I dont have a leak they wouldnt even look at it. Poor service!
Terrible workmanship and ownership. They flushed my cooling system, didnt tighten down the hoses. Went on my honeymoon, car blew up and overheated. Had to have it towed. Spent 250.00 on rental car. Spent $850 more to repair the damage they caused. Ruined my honeymoon . And now the owner wont even call me back and work it out with me. All I wanted was money back for the flushing. I am willing to eat the rental car. Do you call that honest?
Ive used Honest 1 in various locations throughout NC and SC. The West Ashley location is my current go to location and I use them consistently for almost all of my car care needs. They are prompt with scheduled oil changes but walk-ins may have to expect a wait as with most car care places. The lobby is clean and stocked with free coffee, sodas, and water. My most recent service included new tires, alignment, and serpentine belt replacement. I felt the pricing was fair. I had a coupon but the app was not working. However, the front desk staff was kind enough to award me the discount anyways which saved me about $75. All in all, I would recommend Honest 1 for your car care needs.
Nice front end people but I will never go there again. I feel I was ripped off (Spending over $380.00 to have plugs replaced and had to take it back because the car was still not running correctly and spent another $400.00 to have wire replaced, which should have been done the first time. The dealer ship would have been cheaper and my car would have been fixed. My car still is not fixed and they wanted to run more tests to find out what the issue is. I will take my car to my mechanic from now on. Honesty is not what this company is about. It is taking my Honest money out of my pocket.
This is not an honest car care company, I took my car in for an axle replacement and a tune up when they were done I had a rattle that was not there before. I took it back and paid them to replace a heat shield. In doing this repair they created and full on exhaust leak. They then wanted $950 for a new catalytic converter. When I took the car in for repairs the only thing wrong was a bad axle. Now my check engine light will not go off. They told me that they werent batting a thousand on this maybe I should go somewhere else. They broke something in my car and now will not make it right. in my opinion one of two things are happening at this location, they have incompetent mechanics or things are being done intentionally to make more money. Either way I would not use this location of the so called honest 1 car care
If I could give negative stars I would. Maybe if you plant a hidden camera in the car to see what is actually being done you might not get ripped off too badly. Brought my daughters car in for repair and without going into details of the repair, I will tell you that you will be fleeced. Example: I was contacted Friday evening and asked to authorize a $175 diagnostic service. Over the phone they explained that it was unlikely that they would have the work completed by close of business Friday. Saturday (full working day) came and went with no communication from them. Monday I drove by and noticed the car was moved out of the garage. I called and asked for an update. Never received a call back. By Wednesday morning I called them back, because I observed car had not been moved back into garage. I asked again for an update. 2 hours later they called my daughter (not me) and told her car would be ready by the afternoon. At this point I went back into the shop and asked what had been done. They informed me that I needed a new transmission and that was causing my engine to misfire. I have contacted GM directly and they informed me that the issue with the transmission was extremely unlikely to be the cause of the problem. This information was already known before they even asked for diagnostic money, and also unrelated to the original problem. I escaped with my vehicle and $200 less in my bank account. Manager of the store likes to preface sentences with the word honest. My experience in life tells me that when someone tells you they are being honest, to beware. DO NOT LET THESE CROOKS have your hard earned money. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Avoid at all cost! Ordered wrong parts, kept car for 2 days for a simple wheel bearing issue. Never once called to notify me of delays so had to have friends take me there multiple time to find out there were the delays and my car would need to stay there. ALL FOR A SIMPLE FIX.
Wow, is all that comes to mind. They lied about the quality of parts they would use. They told us it would be genuine manufactures parts but not purchased locally. $1700 repair lasted less than 200 miles due to cheap parts used to repair the vehicle. To top it off they charged over dealer pricing for each part. I checked it out, couldnt believe it.The failed part could have really put my family in severe danger but luckily the part failed in our driveway. Was told they would take care of all the issues with the vehicle when we brought it in and when it came time to take care of the braking system, that would be an addition charge which was not agreed upon. Price changed 3 times from the original quote. Get you in the door and the ole switch and bait.I feel bad because Im so tired of getting ripped off by car repair shops and I suppose Im a dumbass for falling for the honest-1 company name.Dont make the same mistake we did.
Very inconsistent communication and lack of ability to get work done on time. I used to recommend years ago, but has decreased in service and quality.
Alli helped me get the right repairs for the right price!! They were honest about what I needed and didnt need done. My car runs like new again and I paid a fraction of what other places in Charleston have charged me before. I highly recommend Honest1 for any of your auto maintenance needs!
