Went for a fuel injector cleaning a couple days ago... It was done professionally with the right tools and equipment.It only cost $99!!My local shop in Johns Island quoted me at $180 for the same job and said theyd have to find the equipment and dust it off.Here, everything was fast, friendly, and done right.The cleaning took care of my cylinder 2 engine misfire, and my Jeep has been running smooth ever since.Will definitely be back for more maintainence in the future. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

They provide services without being able to justify the reasoning behind why they suggested services. I sent someone to get an oil change for my car who did not realize I had a coolant flush performed two weeks prior. The technician said my coolant was old and low and the friend who took my car allowed them to do a coolant flush. When I called and asked why my coolant would have been low/looked old when I just had this service performed two weeks ago, the guy at the front desk did not offer any sort of explanation other than “I don’t know, it was just low.” He did not offer to ask the guy who actually worked on my car if there was anything that would have caused this issue after just two weeks. I absolutely will not be taking my car here again. It’s a shame because the oil changes are fast but if you perform services without having an explanation as to why my coolant was low after just two weeks of my last coolant flush, that’s just not acceptable when you’re working on a machine that I paid thousands of dollars for and am just trying to understand how I can upkeep it better.

This place got me in and out in maybe 20 minutes! Love it. And they offer coupons, so you can save a few dollars. So far, I highly recommend. I even drove 8 miles to go to them, it was worth it.

I came in for more than an oil change. I needed to make sure my old Toyota was good to go for a trip to Georgia and these mechanics went above and beyond to ensure my safety and the cars needs.After I was done I went to buy a part for my car and realized I didn’t have the tools I needed to replace it. Thought they were over priced for a basic oil change (43 and that was with a 6 dollar off coupon). Tried to upsell me a air filter because mine was dirty and its really not very bad as well as some other services I didnt want or need. They were nice and I was in and out in about 20 minutes. Update. Now I have noticed oil spots or some other fluid in my driveway after taking my car here. I am hoping it is just residual because my car had no leaks before I went here.

Love these guys! Only place I use for my oil changes. All the employees are very nice and helpful! David the owner is an honest man. They dont try to over sell you on stuff you dont need. The filters are a little pricey but if you dont know how to change them yourself it seems fair. Quick service. Highly recommend.

Great place. I never have to wait, always top notch. Jason helped me today with my fuel injector cleaning, and oil change. I also saw an other associate, using a weed eater to keep the facility looking sharp. Great Price, didnt take long, and clean rest rooms and facility. Two tvs running and a Keurig while you wait. Robert also helped me out. A side mirror replacement would have cost 300+$. I found it on amazon for 40$. Thanks for looking out my friend! Also, manager on duty was getting his hands dirty. I have gone to Speedee for a number of services. This is not just a place for oil changes. The manager and owner, Dave is hands on, supervising and maintaining a productive team of mechanics who have worked there for an admirable amount of time. He is personable and his employees are all very knowledgeable, doing everything from A/C repair to complete engine overhauls. The establishment is clean and a comfortable place to linger which is rarely long as their efficiency is remarkable. This place is my go-to for any issue. My last auto repair at my dealership, for which I had an appointment, finally looked at my car 5 HOURS after my scheduled appointment and I bought my car there, then was told the issue would require extensive time and labor which I understand, but I shouldnt have had to wait an entire day to hear it!! Go to Speedee. You will be pleased!

Robert is my not so new best friend!I hesitate to inform you that this is the best kept secret on the island! They can do what most mechanics can, in less than an hour, depending on needs. As a current customer, you get discounts in the mail that totally help when you need it! Like during hurricane season. Saved at least $60.

I had the best experience with this staff a few days ago. I came in with my two small kids because my van was making a squealing noise. Within minutes they found the issue, a pulley, and quoted me a price. Their female staff member was awesome with my boys, and less then an hour later my van sounded brand new and the price was even less than quoted. I will definitely be coming here for all repairs and recommending them to everyone!

This place is great! David the owner took a lot of time to try and solve a problem on my daughters car. He has two daughters of his own, so he takes extra care to make sure things are right! He also offers a free Trip Check before you head out on a trip. Honest place.

I unexpectedly had a water pump that had to be replaced at a time that was unexpected and horrible timing as I was closing on a house. Robert helped me out over the phone and was able to get the job done at a fair price and repaired the vehicle right by the time they were closing up. I am grateful to have found a go to place to bring my vehicles and will recommend to anyone. I have had two oil changes prior here as well and they are never pushy and have the best customer service.

Moved to the area just under 2 years ago and its always stressful trying to find a new place to trust with your car. These guys made it easy. Theyve been taking care of us since day 1. It is located next to a traffic light close to the highway and the interstate access area. It is located close to various types of stores and businesses located in and around the area.

I waited about a year to write this review to make sure the job was done right. I was on vacation in folly beach with my wife and 5 kids in our toyota sienna. Car started over heating, water pump seal blew out. We were about 3 miles from this place, never even heard of it before. I limped into the local auto parts store and bought an off brand water pump, then they told me of their guy about 2 miles away. Normally I would have just kept going and chose somebody myself, but I had no choice this time. Turned out to be very sound advice. They were very nice, gave me a reasonable quote, and then even had me sign a sheet that said they wouldnt raise the price even if it takes longer than expected. And to top it all off, the island was in a slight panic due to the chance of the hurricane hitting. They started on the van the next morning (it was about 5pm when I dropped it off) and by about 1pm I had a fully functional van again. I went ahead and bought a new serpentine and they threw it on. Here it is 1 year and about 17k miles later and still not one drop of antifreeze on my driveway or any sign of overheating. Its hard to give a 5 star rating to any mechanic these days, but this place earned 5 stars plus. Thank you again guys!!

Went in for just an oil change. They top off all fluids at no extra cost! They air your tires and check your other filters. My air filter was NASTY! They put a new one in for 28 bucks. Great people. All in 35 minutes! Ill never go anywhere else.

SpeeDee may be a great place for an oil change if you dont mind being mislead about how often it should be done. As for mechanical work, its a roll of the dice depending on whether the main mechanic is in or not. If you have money to burn (and sometimes time as well), SpeeDee is the place for you. Update. SpeeDee filled my cooling system with antifreeze and failed to notice the radiator was leaking. This caused the water pump and thermostat to burn up and resulted in a $800 in repairs plus the loss of antifreeze.

Additionally, they are in an industry where the pros go to work and we have to HOPE they will not take advantage... SpeeDee Oil on James Island not only earned my trust but went far beyond my expectations.During my SpeeDee time there (ha), I also observed their interaction with several other customers. They treated everyone with respect and the kind of concern you would want for young son/daughter, grandmother, etc... They told an elderly lady that if shed like, to come by every once in a while and they will keep her tire pressure good and top off her fluids at no cost.I did not go for an oil change- I needed to top off my transmission fluid b/c of a leak. They found the leak and not only took the time to tell me exactly what was going on and show me where it was, but also explained my options....and that if I wanted (in order to to reduce my costs) I could order the part online (instead of the local market costs). Then, bring it in and they will install. The Staff is exceptional! As a single woman who knows very little about cars they went above and beyond to help me.Side note: I had the opportunity to meet the owner who was very involved in talking to his customers, checking the work, and cordially dealing with his staff. As I was leaving and thanking him he said as a father of a young adult daughter living in another state and son of an aging mother, I just want to pay it forward. They are great. A full service shop that shoots straight. I was convinced that I had a leak in my cooling system on my Lesabre & couldnt figure out where, so I took the car to them. They found that the system was plugged & simply needed a flush. They flushed the system twice for good measure & only charged me the basic flush price. We had the car back within a couple of hours, with a more than fare bill. Robert, the manager, is so easy to deal with. The owner & the rest of the staff are all great people to work with.

There was a minor hiccup with one of my oil changes (have been coming here since moving to Charleston), but the owner Dave called me personally and explained the issue, apologized (even though it was mostly just a misunderstanding), and made the issues right. Highly recommend.

I took my Honda in for an oil change to SpeeDee once and recently decided to take it to Honda for an oil change and Honda tells me that the previous shop put the wrong drain plug back into the oil pan and that I needed a new pan that would cost me about $400. SpeeDee called me after reading my review and wanted to take a look at my car. After looking at it and showing me, the plug has been in there for a while and it wasnt the plug that SpeeDee put in and my oil pan is just fine....no replacement needed. I am impressed that David from SpeeDee took the time to call me, examine my car and wanted to fix the issue if it was their error, but it wasnt. I will admit when I am wrong and my previous review was incorrect. I would recommend SpeeDee because they do care and want to keep customers happy.

Had our oil changed Saturday. It was fast and what seemed efficient. We got the 17 point oil changed where they change the oil, top off fluids, add air to your tires and check your belts. Im not sure how they checked the belts but one of our belts started squeaking the same day we got our oil changed. I find it very hard to believe that this is a coincidence.

I took my car there two weeks ago and paid over $600 to have my front brakes and rotators done. Now I cant even press the brakes on my car without everyone on the street having to cover their ears. Essentially, the car is far worse than after having them word on it. I appreciate the friendly owner but after begging him not to charge me for unnecessary things and to please return my car to me in a timely manner, I still seemed to get a car back with more problems than it started with. Do NOT waste your money.

The place where i usually go for oil change closed on Sunday, decided to give this place a try. Fastest oil change in my life. Great staff and manager Robert go out of his way to help fix my shift gear problem. Even gave me a mini screwdriver for a souvenir if Im ever in a pinch to fix that same issue.

I called around, the best price was $97 plus what ever the cost the cost the actual light bulb, once they ordered the bulb.Out of the blue, I called this particular shop. The person answering the phone did something all the others did not do - he asked What make is the car? THEN he gave me an estimate. His estimate? $65.00 including the bulb, which they would have on hand by the time I drove there that day!So off I went to SpeeDee on Folly Road. I was received as if I had been their favorite customer. There were others seated in the lobby, all chit-chatting together as if they had been customers for years themselves.I was in and out in well under an hour; the gentleman at the desk rung me up . my bill- parts & labor = $37.00 ! I thought surely he meant $73.00... nope - An honest price for honest work.I like these people! No intimidation, no sense of being taken for my money since I am a woman.This SpeeDee is now my ONLY trusted car shop! Thank, Gentlemen!
