Staff was friendly, warm and welcoming as soon as I stepped foot in the door. It really felt like they went out of their way to be nice and genuine which was very appreciated after a super long workweek. Very enjoyable atmosphere, great music and excellent service. Everyone is complaining about pricing in these reviews but this is smack center of uptown Charlotte and I think they’re actually quite reasonable for that location. The $10/year-membership fee was well worth it for the peaceful vibes and experience that came with it. I’m looking forward to becoming a regular!

Not sure why they need to charge a 10 dollar membership fee but that will be required before you enter even if your just visiting Charlotte.If you do decide to take the membership fee once inside it is a very nice and clean lounge with a modest selection of cigars ( even after purchasing your membership you are still required to purchase a stick if you want to smoke).They have a good selection of drinks and they set the ambiance with some good lounge music.They do also have a nice outdoor seating area but its not heated for those cooler temperatures.Worth the visit if you dont mind spending the 10 dollar fee.Safe Travels

Pretty chill spot in EpiCentre next to RedEye Diner. Nice folks- good cigar recommendations and they cut/light. $10 annual membership required, pay parking in EpiCentre garage. Visited midday, nice sound track. Seating both inside and outside, high ceilings inside. Recommend if you are uptown.

I traveled 500 miles to come to Charlotte to explore, vacation and relax. I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice cigar bar near the premises I stayed. I eventually went their to smoke a cigar and to intermingle but that thought process was short lived. I was stopped at the door and asked was I a member or if I was buying something to go. I explained that I was on vacation in Charlotte for the first time and my intentions was to sit, drink and smoke and that a membership wasnt an option because I dont live here. There attitudes was very unwelcoming and I was really taken back that even though the location was in a visitors district they made it totally clear that visitors werent welcome to stay. I ended up going to the counter and purchased a cigar to go and the gentleman behind the counter didnt even want to cut it for me but wanted me to purchase a cutter even though they had a large multi cutter next to the register. Awful service, awful people and horrible experience that aggravated me enough to write this response. GOOD RIDDENS 👎

A pretty cool cigar spot, not too big, but not too small. Cigars are a little overpriced but that’s common for uptown Charlotte.

Horrible hostess rude from the minute we walked through the door. Dont understand the $10 fee (just reading reviews she never said it was annual) especially if your there visiting the city. She just kept yelling were private owned so we charge a fee. Every cigar bar Ive ever been to is privately owned never was charged a fee to get in.

His location is in the Epicenter! You have to pay for parking by the hour in the parking deck used by all. Its attached and covered. Well, unless you have something worked out already (..have a pass from your job etc). The lounge is on the main level across front the RED EYE DINER. If you walk into the Epicenter from College Street youll be on the main level. There is a small membership fee to smoke. Its 5 or 10 bucks. You cannot bring in your own sticks. I dont blame them, you cant pay rent when folks are smoking someone elses cigars. His drinks (alcoholic) are on not a disappointment . You can call most businesses and theyll deliver the food to you. Seating is sort of arranged like a restaurant and it actually works well for smoking...and eating. There is an outdoor area for smoking too! When the weather is right, youll find me out there starting a fire. This place is clean the smoke eaters are always pumping the smoke out, and the selection is on point. The staff is always helpful...you dont have to worry about that. No, they dont sell cigarettes. Some people come in asking. Only neg is one TV

Very friendly and welcoming establishment. So happy to have such a wide selection of smokes and excellent drinks. The smoked old fashioned was great and really enjoyable place to unwind.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere at this cigar lounge. Indoors and outdoor seating. Not the biggest selection of cigars, but still a nice selection. Staff was great and informative. I didnt eat, but their menu looked really good. Awesome selection of alcohol. I didnt like that everyone who came in had to pay $5 membership for a year, if they never been there before. I paid it, and I enjoyed my time there so Im not too sore about it. Just thought it was strange. If I came back to Charlotte, I would definitely come back to Tailored.

Went here night after Valentine’s. It’s clean and the staff is nice. You have to join and become a member in order to come in. It’s only $5 and it’s good for a year. They have a nice lounge outside in epicenter. It’s ou cannot bring in your own cigars which is a normal request. It’s hey do not allow cigarette smoking so if you have a friend who smokes, they must go outside away from the bar. The drinks are a little expensive, but the visit was a nice experience. No complaints and would go back during warm weather to sit outside as i do not smoke cigars.

Had a friend visiting from out of town, wanted to buy a few sticks and there’s a one time $10 membership charge. I ended up going a mile to another lounge. One drink and one stick would had been $20 or so I wasn’t going to pay an extra $10 to check out a new smoke shop out when there’s a few near by already. I won’t bash them the man was very polite.

I called to ask if I needed to purchase a membership to smoke there. The staff member was irritable, short, and unhelpful at best. A large part of what attracts me to a cigar bar is the community and open energy, this wasnt cultivated during my interaction and that is unfortunate.

Ventilation could be better and cigars were very pricey...

Nice relaxing vibe

My husband and I dropped by Tailored Smoke when were in Charlotte for work. We got into smoking cigars after a trip to Miami, and are always on the look out for new ones to try now. There was a small membership fee ($5 for a year) to get in, but it was well worth. The sign-up process was simple, and the prices for the actual cigars were quite reasonable. Every person we interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful, and the cigars we ended up choosing were high-quality. The atmosphere of the lounge really sets it apart from other cigar bars Ive visited. It was chill, elegant, but still very vibrant and welcoming.The seating setup was really comfy, and I liked that there wasnt loud music blasting - it was actually a place you can sit back, relax, and have a nice conversation. We spent some time chatting a bit with the owner - who is both wonderfully amicable and extremely knowledgeable about cigars - it was definitely the highlight of our night out. If I lived in Charlotte, I would be coming back regularly. Will definitely stop by again next time Im in town though!

I like to visit a place several times before I leave a review and it would be insane for me to not share how at home you feel at Tailored Smoke! Tonight, I brought some friends with me because I thought they would enjoy it... they loved it. They had never smoked cigars, but the staff was so knowledgeable and helpful. The manager, Sterling was so accommodating and down to earth. I dont make a trip to or through Charlotte and not stop here. Try it, you wont be disappointed!

Visited Charlotte from Georgia and came across this great place in the epicenter. Our first visit to a cigar bar/lounge and the staff made it extremely pleasant. We signed up for a membership for only $5 and was educated on all types of cigars. Top customer service from the start at the door with Josh to the bartender Elle and of course Preston(owner). The ambiance was great and the other patrons were friendly as well. Great experience!

Nice place to have a cigar, Club style with registration and fee of 5$/year. Comfortable seats, good selection of cigars. Welcome host was very friendly and cigar seller very knowledgable. High prices for cigars / high priced cigars being recommended without giving price information from the beginning. Bar menu not bad, but lack of flexibility - they were unable to prepare any non-alcoholic cocktail. Also didn’t serve any Coffee despite having it on the menu.

This place is great! The gentleman behind the counter was able to offer 3 different cigars based on a couple questions. Really honed in what I wanted and made an excellent recommendation. The ambiance is a bit tight. The cocktails are the best. I recommend the smoked old fashioned.

The lounge has really gone down from what it used to be. The membership fee has increased by 50% and there were no servers available to service our table the entire evening. As well as no drink menu available or cigar menu that they previously used to have. I just wasted two memberships because we will not be returning!

Visited for the first time on 8/11/19 and was somewhat impressed!! Wasnt to keen on the membership fee being I live over two hours away! But other than that the place was pretty nice!! Cigar selection was okay but you have to know what you want since they are all behind the bar!! Was able to grab a couple of sticks for me and my friend based on recommendations from the staff!! I would visit again if in the Charlotte area!!

It shows the true lack of professionalism from an establishment that caters to professionals.This place is unprofessional, overpriced, and doesn’t know anything about cigars. Your “tobacconist” is FAR from friendly. One of the bartenders needs an attitude adjustment. If the owner of this place would contact me, I could help revamp this business. You’re in a prime location to succeed BUT you need a totally new staff. I know cigars, I know the business, I know how this problem can be fixed and I can help you. But if you don’t listen to a connoisseur who knows how to attract better business and a better atmosphere, you would only be shooting yourself in the foot. If you want me to contact you, show me how and I can come help you. But again, if you don’t heed my warning, you will be a complete flop. You need better brands and not “starter” cigars or stuff someone who doesn’t smoke much would buy. $5 cover....HAHAHAHAHA! Come on! That’s totally uncalled for! Amazing place! Just need a better way to get customers in at the door. Took 15 mins to get registered as a member and pay to get inside. Wonderful place and experience after I did get inside. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

Seems like a nice place; however, we didnt make it past the $5 cover. Im not sure the reasoning behind the cover, but it wasnt explained at the time.I just wanted to hop in and grab something quick to take home. Oh well, there are plenty of other shops.

Went here a month back, (sorry for late review) i took a friend here out of curiousity. Staff was nice and professional, even after my friend got sick from inhaling too deeply. The bartender was very nice as well. It was my first time and they offered a sweet cigar that i really liked.

A great place to get a cigar in uptown Charlotte. Preston the owner is somewhat of an established attraction every night. Look for the man in the fashionable hat. The staff at the bar is ready to serve and to help whenever needed. Whether inside or enjoying the attraction outside in the patio, Tailored Smoke is worth the visit.

This was a nice place to enjoy time with friends and family for laughs and drinks. Great location for men and women to sit back and enjoy good times. Atmosphere was was nice. We will be going there again.

First time here and I love it. Cigars little pricey but great selection to pick from. I will always pay for convenience so I don’t have to drive to a cigar lounge since I was staying at the AC Hotel which is about 454 ft from my room. The staff knows their cigars really well.

Ran into the tailored smoke lounge on a hunch with my bff. nice selection of cigars. Our cigartendar was helpful. I had a great time with nice conversation with a nice alike vegan .... wish i could revisit for the march madness.

Felt too restricted. Cant choose your stick and didnt feel the love from staff behind counter. The young lady checking you in and the manager gave us good service and convo.

Good selection, not much of a connoisseur for cigars. A little pricey, but could be worse. Staff seemed more concerned with their own conversations then idle chat with non regulars. Would be a great place for a post work hang out, but as a non frequent customer, its definitely a place to chill and keep to yourself.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! The owner (Mr. Gray) and staff is very professional and try to please as best as they can. The venue has indoor and outdoor seating. And the cigar & libation selection is fantastic! Its my favorite cigar bar when I come to the Charlotte, NC area.

In Charlotte for a convention we discovered this place and went there multiple times. The layout is great, the bar is fantastic, the cigars delicious ... but the best was the staff and clientele. They welcomed us like family, just short of hanging up the Canadian flag (I asked, they didnt have one). If I ever get back there again this will be the first place I go.

This place just was given a box of Liga 10 Anniversarios by the Drew Estate BY LOTTERY.. I Went in to buy 1 and was told in order to buy it I must buy 5 other Liga brand cigars.. Buyer beware... SHAKE DOWN WHEN YOU JUST WANT TO BUY WHAT THEY GOT FOR FREE FROM DREW ESTATE!!!!! NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!! I call BS. On your response!! SHAKEDOWN.....

I try to support black business however this place as absolutely ridiculous. First you have to pay 5 dollars for a membership fee (of course I’m from out of town) then the waiter tried to get me to buy the most expensive cigar in the place. But the waitress when we walked in was nice but I would not recommend this to no ones that’s visiting nor would I recommend this to first time cigar smokers.

$5 first Time you come in. Good selection of cigars. Very comfortable place. Only downside is the homeless people walking around epicenter begging for money while your trying to enjoy a cigar. My first time. I joined for the modest yearly membership of $5. I signed up for the newsletter. I was so impressed I am likely to make a trip to a special event.Sat and had a beer with one of my favorite cigars. The group around me were friendly and we started talking about our strong like of Patrons. Two of us were smoking the same Patron madro. The third wished he had seen it and gotten that one. Nice to sit in the outside section and enjoy talking about cigars and watching the crowd go by.A strong suggestion. Have more local beers available. If not directly from Charlotte, from the region. And add taps. As it was you had a favorite Samuel Smith of mine. And I was very happy. Wes Sharpe, Asheville.

Cant even get past the door without paying a membership fee. Others have stated the same thing on the reviews but the responses are its state law. If its state law to charge $5 a head to even walk in the door then why is this the first cigar lounge Ive ever been to on the southeast that requires this. Nice cigar lounge right outside the blackfinn pub & valet parking for epicenter. Comfortable couches/chairs, friendly workers, and decent selection of sticks which they will professionally cut for you. They have a heater, TV, and small selection of non-alcoholic beverages.
