The BEST waffles we’ve ever had! We tried the lumberjack, lemon blueberry cream, pumpkin spice and the cinnamon roll waffle and all of them were absolutely scrumptious. The drinks were also great and the staff is very friendly. This quaint little place carries a lot of big flavor!

Had the Cinnamon Roll Waffle and Hazelnut Blended Coffee. So delicious! Texture of both was excellent. Blended coffee may be too sweet for true coffee drinkers. This was definitely a frozen dessert drink. Restaurant was clean and priced “fairly” reasonably for gourmet breakfast food. Only one guy working behind counter; but it was not busy at 1 PM so the wait was short. Would definitely return.

This place is cozy, clean and staff is super friendly, polite and professional.Waffles are really really good. Tiny, sweet and tasty. Everything was great.......until 2 hours later when me and my woman were fighting for a bathroom spot. I felt like portable Chernobyl.I wont be going back.Didnt want one star as staff was impressive.

Ate this morning for the first time ever! Food and service both top shelf! The brunette was extremely helpful with everything for a first timer/ old timer! and the blonde cooked perfect waffles! Excellent service from both ladies. My wife and I will make the 90 minute drive just to eat this sensation in our mouths! Every bite was heaven. The waffles were fresh and divine.

My son and I have a weekend ritual of going there at least once (when possible) a weekend for these amazing waffles -simply put, the best waffles I have ever had in my life. My favorite are the Berries (strawberries & Blueberries) & Cream and my son loves the Cinnamon Roll and Cookies and Cream waffles. Very nice professional staff too.

I love the small, cozy cafe feel of this place. You cant miss with any of their waffles, and I find myself craving a biscoff or an elvis (PB&Banana) waffle whenever I pass by. The coffee is pretty good as well - Ive only had the cinnamon roll latte but it was fantastic!

I loved my iced latte and my husband loved the chi tea latte. We split a waffle and it was delicious. With that said, we went at 1 pm and there was only one girl working behind the counter, getting more behind on orders as customers were coming in. It seems that it would make the most sense for her to take one groups order, prepare the items, and then call out the items so the people would get what they ordered. Only then should she move on to another order. Instead, she would take several groups orders at a time and have people wait a long time. This is no fault of the employees, just bad training and management. Definitely needs to be at least two people working so she does not have to handle dirty money then wash hands and make the food. I sure wish Ballantyne would have another independently owned coffee house. I wont be back anytime soon due to bad service.

Had an excellent breakfast experience this morning. The girls working were very welcoming and kind. The food was amazing. It did get a little busy but we still received our food in a timely manner. They do offer call ahead/carry out I believe. Highly recommend if you’re going through the Charlotte area!

I have been there 3 times this summer and there is one girl there that kills it everytime! A couple weeks ago she was there by herself on a busy morning and was so helpful and on top of it and this weekend she was engaging with customers but also the staff! Encouraging everyone it is do awesome to watch!! Not sure if she is the owner or just works there but the staff and customer service is excellent and definitely has brought me back!! She made an announcement about care packages and writing messages to fallen soliders!! Awesome.odea awesome.place!!! THE food and coffee are great as well but I was reading through comments and have to agree the staff is just top shelf!!

Best waffles Ive ever had, highly recommend! Coffee was a little bitter for my taste but that might just be a matter of preference. Girl working the counter was very pleasant, food came out quickly, the space is nice to just relax and eat breakfast.

Sinful, unique, must try if youve never tasted a true Belgian Liege waffle, but definitely not in the health food category. Discover it for yourself. When I say its unique, it is. Its not anything you think youve made or tasted. Add Cast Iron Waffles to your bucket list.

So the waffle itself isn’t fresh or fluffy as I thought it would be. Taste was ok and with topping I enjoyed it. Probably won’t eat it again any time soon.

Food was good. Got the Deluxe, with Bananas, Strawberries, and Nutella. The waffle was slightly hard as if it was heated up, but it was still tasty. Im sure these are delicious first thing in the morning. Shop is nice and seems like its in a nice spot around a bunch of apartments. Staff was nice as well.

Coffee was really good, we had the ice hazelnut latte. Waffle was just okay. Service was just okay, it’s only one girl working, and she doesn’t seem like she likes her job lol.

I visited last week for brunch when I was in the area. The cafe is super cute and clean, prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and food is delicious! I got the belgian waffle with fresh cut 🍌 bananas and strawberries, along with the choc drizzle/nutella and whipped cream.. Yummy!!I had a coupon from Yelp so it knocked a dollar off too. Then I signed up for their club and have received coupons for future use. Win-win!

Loved the atmosphere and the waffles. Just be very cautious for those that dont eat gluten. I had a very bad brain fog after eating here and felt my body swell. At the time of my purchase I wasnt thinking if it was made out of gluten and just eat cause I was really hungry 😅 but they are delicious.

Very good waffle! I got the deluxe and it was a good blend of flavors. The whipped cream topped it off fabulously! I initially was disappointed no eggs or bacon, but the waffle and coffee were adequately filling.

Waffles were great as well as the service. They were out of chi but the cashier replaced it without a worry. The waffles have little crystals of sugar that are sweet little surprises.

I like the decor. But the waffle is so dense . Even know is Belgium waffle. I dont think they cook long enough.

What can I say. These are the best waffles I’ve ever tasted. The waffle is perfectly cooked and the toppings are added in just the right combination. I normally get the deluxe waffle with Nutella, bananas and strawberries ($5). The flavors blend perfectly and add to the texture of the waffle giving a nice presentation. I have also tried the lumberjack and cinnamon waffle both of which are delicious. The drinks are also pretty good. I normally get the 20 oz. mocha blend ($5.50) which is very similar to Starbucks, taste and price wise. The inside is very cozy and gives out a modern/urban feel.

I enjoyed my first visit to Cast Iron Waffle. I got a plain waffle. The pops of sugar mixed into the waffle went really with a latte.

Bad customer service. Should give them less but the waffles were pretty good.

I don’t know why this place is so highly rated.I went on a Sunday afternoon when there was just another party other than my husband and myself. I ordered a plain waffle and my husband got a specialty waffle that had pecans on top. I was so disappointed that they just warmed up a pre-made waffle from the display cabinet and there were about 20+ waffles in there at a glance. As you can imagine, the waffles were stale and didn’t taste fresh at all as if they were sitting there for two days. Why wouldn’t a waffle place not serve the customer a fresh, hot waffles from a waffle maker?

I went to pick up an order (4 waffles) and was told it would be another 10 minutes after the original pick up time. Meanwhile I watched people who ordered after me pick up their food. When I asked for an update (13 minutes after pick up designation time) I was answered by the girl making waffles (young, dark hair, olive skin) who was very rude and full of attitude. I returned her attitude and let her know I would never come back. She replied with more attitude. This team was very unprofessional and could not handle the business. I wouldnt recommend leaving the busiest hours to the least experienced of your staff. Maturity level is just not there. Customer service was not there. Not a good face for your business.

Awesome food and service, been coming here for years and it never disappoints.

We stopped by after an early shoot. Waffles were tasty but the comfort level with Covid-19 protocols, self serve items were a bit alarming especially when we saw a customers kid rifle through a stack of cups, touching them all and watching the employee restack them and leave them for others to use. And no masks for customers in such a small place made us rethink returning until the Covid crisis has passed.

This place is pretty small and can be hard to get a seat, but has a nice little variety of delicious waffles. It is perfect for a light breakfast or something small. Probably not for those who are starving. But I love this place and visit often.

Private, peaceful and delicious. They have a unique selection of cast iron waffles, that are perfect for sharing with your date or crushing by yourself. I would suggest them for breakfast lunch and anytime in between. They have always been more than courteous and I love a warm strawberry banana or with bacon. Good coffee, expensive but worth the private cozy feel.

I’ve been going to this place for years, actually since they first opened but today not only ruined how I felt about this place but definitely put a damper on my Mother’s Day. During a current pandemic, my husband waited over an hour in a terribly crowded space, going against any social distancing protocol that has been set by the state. Waiting an hour is one thing, but the complete lack of concern for the health and safety of your customers is another. I plan on following up with a phone call apart from this review. I’m completely floored at what my husband experienced this morning.

I ORDERED FROM THEM AND SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR SYRUP NO SYRUP WAS GIVEN. ALSO THERE WAS NO EATING UTENSILS...WHEN I WENT THERE IN THE PAST THEY ACT LIKE ITS A PROBLEM TO GIVE SYRUP AND THERE WAS LOTS OF FLYS FLYING AROUND THIS WILL BE MY LAST TIME ORDERING OR GOING HERE SMH

Waffles were fantastic. Quaint atmosphere, quick service. We dipped bites in maple butter, which was delicious (a little goes a long way). Fruit was fresh and homemade whipped cream was the perfect topper! Great find.

Cute atmosphere, good service. Fair waffles...lukewarm, chewy, have to eat with plastic utensils and in paper plates. I prefer hot waffles with crispy edges, more topping choices, real silverware and plates...but the prices are right. Espresso was pretty good.

There is extremely limited parking (4 spaces), but you can park at the bank across the street. Seating is limited (about 8 tables), but there are another 3 tables outside. The tables seat 2 to 3 people each. Its kept extremely warm inside. Lastly, it seems a bit pricey for what you get. Two waffles and two coffees were just over 19 dollars. The waffles are good but you only get one and they stick to the carton that they come in. Its nice to try but definitely not a daily or weekly stop, in my opinion.

Ive known this place since it opened. it a nice coffee shop with a friendly relaxed staff. a great place to study and eat a waffle. the coffee it great. its a little tight, but still absolutely worth going. the waffles are dense and delicious.

I really want to give it five stars but it’s just doesn’t pop for five stars. The waffles are delicious, the coffee is good, and the place itself is nice. The staff always seems like they rather be elsewhere, but I suspect that could be that they’re high schoolers.

The waffles we got were not fresh. Maybe made that day, but not upon order. The amount of food you get is also very little for the price, I would have expected twice as much. The coffee was excellent and the food was delicious, but I cant see spending dinner prices on breakfast.

I have been coming to this place since they opened. The first 2 years you got what you paid for. Since then they have really cut back on the fruit on the waffle. Today I got a waffle which had maybe 1 strawberry sliced almost paper thin, and was quite old, and maybe a 1/4 of a banana. This is way off from the picture in the store. That shows what it used to be like. Also, The employees did NOT have face masks on.

Arrived at 8:05 am.8:13 am: I called, got “we will bring it right out”.8:36 am: I called “we are very sorry, we will start making now and bring it out in 10 min”8:51 am: I called “we will have it out in 2 minutes”8:58 and the order finally came out.I understand everyone is busy, not don’t lie to customers or set unrealistic expectations. I had my daughter with me who after 30 mins start to freak the f out. You all made me wait 60 mins outside!!!

Waffles were good. Initially they seemed small but kept us full for longer than normal. Its a nice and cozy little place.

The ladies that work here are quite personable and friendly to customers. The waffles themselves may seem pricey at first but they are quite filling and insanely delicious -- well worth it. The fruits are always fresh, the coffee is hot, and the homemade whipped cream is perfection!

We are Belgians, so those waffles are a home taste reminder. They do the Liege waffles (city in Belgium) which we normally eat without anything on it. The Brussels waffles are lighter and the ones we cover with fruits, syrup,... but I have not seen them on the menu. We buy their frozen waffles by 12 for $20, so thats a great price. After warming them up in the toaster, I cannot tell the difference from what I used to get in Belgium.

Waffles were ok but are not made to order. They are premade and then they will put them in toaster oven or microwave if requested. Coffee options are bold and extra bold. I like strong coffee but no amount of sweetener and milk (only regular milk ...no half and half or creamers available) could make the coffee drinkable. So disappointed ... Could be so much better with a little effort.

First time there. Got the sloBerry. Excellent just the right amount of food. Wish they had a few more options to choose from but would definitely go back again to try another one
