Very nice place with beautiful interior and sparkling clean. Their their homemade desserts are good and look fantastic. Although my kids didnt appreciate - probably too fancy for them - I really enjoyed their matcha latte and signature ice cream.

One of its kind cafe... we liked our 1st visit and very happy with overall experience. Friendly staff and awesome choices. You will find lot of variety and choose from options.

Wow! My friend recommended this place and I’m so happy that we drove to this area to try it out. It’s one of the very few places that actually has ube soft-served ice cream, which is a Filipino purple yam and is in a majority of Filipino desserts.Service: Friendly and attentive staff.Environment: The cafe is very well-designed with chic, rustic decor. I love all the color details, backsplashes, free formed wooden table, and even the mermaid floor tiles in the bathroom. There are two black benches and a front seating area with patio chairs and two tables outside. The entryway has 4-5 bar seatings, and a couple of tables inside. It was our first time in this retail area. If you walk behind the building, there’s a small lake full of geese and ducks. You can walk around the lake and it has a lot of bench seats. There was also a boba tea place in the same area.Food: We got the matcha and ube soft serve, on a waffle cone, which was super creamy and delicious. My husband got their matcha tiramisu, which they prepared when we ordered. I found out that they also have milk bread toast with various toppings. It looks like a super, fluffy French toast. I’ll have to try it next time. They have that with avocado toppings, banana nutella, berries, and kinako mochi. They serve floats, coffee, teas, frappes, and other baked goods, too.

What a great experience! Our family purchased the ice cream, which has a different texture than standard soft-serve. The overall favorite was the sweet potato one, although I preferred the smoked matcha one. Definitely drop in and try it for a Japanese alternative of an American favorite. Its worth the visit!

I have been to Matcha Cafe Maiko several times and I absolutely love getting the affogato! The service is great, the price is fair and the staff is very knowledgeable about their products. I will definitely come back!

Beautiful indoor and outdoor space. Loved the decor although it was really cold inside. We enjoyed some tea and the pastries they had. I will be going back to enjoy some of the food options they have and the matcha ice cream.

The matcha is delightful, loads of options, everything seems high quality. Easily worth the trip all the way to Arboretum. I have never been a fan of matcha but now that has changed.

I literally found this place by accident while in search of something cool to drink or eat. I already had a stressful day because I feared the worst before my dentist appointment, but my visit here turn that all around. The employees were very sweet and welcoming. I decided to go for a con of their Matcha soft serve and it was the best Matcha ice cream I’ve ever tasted. The soft serve is equal parts sweet with just the perfect amount of bitterness. I will definitely be back and bringing my friends because this was amazing and turn my day around.

I couldn’t believe it when I discovered this little Matcha shop. The quality is unexpectedly phenomenal! I am a big fan for matcha and I always thought that the best matcha ice cream shops can only be found in SF (in my personal experience anyways). When I found this shop I almost burst into tears! Today I came and tried their lavender latte and the Maiko special ice cream and oh boy it was GOOD! My Christmas came early this year! 🎄🎄

Beautiful little cafe that I would recommend. The roasted green tea ice cream was a very pleasant surprise. At the time hesitant to try any type of tea labeled cheese but Im happy I went with it. The freshly baked treats here are to die for as well

Awesome cafe and the first of its kind in Charlotte. For anyone who is a major fan of matcha green tea, I would definitely recommend this place. They also have milder creamy matcha for those who arent as big a fan of stronger bitter matcha. The hojicha (roasted green tea) is good too for those who want a nuttier taste to their matcha. The parfait was my favorite, everything is home made in the shop including the mochi they used for the parfait and waffles for the cones. The owner was extremely nice and helpful when we came in. Would recommend highly if you are in the area.

Absolutely 5 stars! I came here twice during my Charlotte trip. It’s even hard to find such places in greater NYC area where there’s a big Asian community. Both matcha and hojicha flavor are very delicious!!!

Almost always get the matcha soft serve. Very reliable. Sampled the berry, it’s like a strawberry flavor, and creamy and rich as well. But can’t say no to a matcha soft serve today.

I love everything matcha & it is not too overwhelming which is a plus. In addition, they have sesame flavored ice cream which is difficult to find 🤩.The matcha+sesame maiko special is a must try!

I didnt rush to try this place since I dont like matcha, but we had lunch in the area so we decided to stop by.They have so much more than just matcha. They had us sample all their ice cream flavors and I loved hojicha and black sesame. It was the first time Ive seen either of these in Charlotte.We decided to get the Maiko Special with a vanilla hojicha ice cream swirl. Overall, I loved it. It had a matcha cake in it that I actually liked. It also had a special matcha ice cream in it which I really didnt like, but was able to avoid.They use the same waffle cones as Jenis which I love. I tried some of my friends black sesame waffle cone which was great.Warning: the hojicha and matcha products have caffeine in them. It makes sense if you think about it but I forgot since I was just eating dessert and it kept me up half the night (I dont drink caffeine).The decor is really well done. The service is incredibly friendly. I will be back (but will probably stick to black sesame next time to avoid the caffeine)!

Well i tell u what macho mako is the place to go they really out did themselves with their GREEN SPOONS gah dayum got a homie actin up. Their fruity cream bread was ight to they got all the green drinks you can think of all they drinks green and shout out to john he really makes a very welcoming environment and get some more green spoons

The cafe looks like it came out from Pinterest. Whoever designed it needs to remake my kitchen.The ice cream is a rare treat. While the matcha is good, the seasonal flavors are a must try. The black sesame and ube (sweet potato) are incredible and worth the premium price.The staff is very friendly and patient.

Variety of drink selections is great for any mood you may be in. Enough customization available to get your drink to suit your taste.Not a lot of places you can go to for roasted green tea beverages. Sort of wish they had a wider selection of dessert options that you can pair with the tea.

Its awesome to get another Asian dessert option in Charlotte that isnt bubble tea. My favorite is the hojicha, a roasted green tea. Its sweet but has a nutty depth thats super satisfying and curbs the cloying sweetness of other things. I love the black honey, hojicha powder and cornflake add-ons.My wife loves the straight Matcha, and my mother the black sesame. At the end of the day, each of us could eat any flavor but we still have our favorites.I was tempted to drop my rating for value, but given the quality and exclusivity of a place like this to the Charlotte market, I didnt feel thatd be fair... for now =)

This place is my favorite. Their matcha is the best in charlotte. I’ve actually wanted to go any real matcha place in charlotte but there was no any places like this before this place is opened. So i am glad that we have it in charlotte now. The owners are so kind with great services, and their environment is so clean. The only thing that i am disappointed is kinda far from my home. Lol
