Wow. Where do I even begin? Everything about this car buying process was easy, painless, and most importantly, honest. I have never encountered a dealership like this one. Most of time they are filled with employees that do not care about you, only your pockets. That is not the case here. You are completely taken care of at Dowling. I came here last week to test drive a Bronco Sport. I didnt intend on buying anything right away. I wanted to feel the car out first and save a bit more money for my down payment. Dan was my salesman and there was absolutely NO pressure whatsoever. I let him know what my intentions were, and he educated me on everything I needed to know. This was my first car purchase, mind you. Every other car Ive owned was given to me by family so you can imagine the amount of anxiety I was already feeling. Dan asked if he could check in with me after a few days to which I said was perfectly fine. Sure enough, I was the one calling HIM the following week to ask if we could start the buying process. The only time I felt anxious was waiting for Dan to call and let me know whether I had been approved. After he let me know that I was approved, I met with Asher in the finance department. Again, I felt zero pressure. Asher is very kind and was accommodating to my needs. Just like with Dan, Asher educated me on everything and took his time explaining every option to make sure I was comfortable with the decisions I made. I had leased my F-150 from another Ford dealer in the area and when I inquired about leasing another vehicle I was not happy with their responsiveness, or attitude. Dowling Ford service department needs some serious attention. Brought my new Ford Ranger in there that had no AC/heat/defroster. They checked it and ordered parts for a new blower unit, I was told to pick up my truck and drive it without a defroster. I refused. The service department wouldn’t give me a loaner vehicle. Thankfully my salesman Dan helped me out with a loaner, but I shouldn’t of had to go back to the sales department. My truck was there for 2 1/2 weeks with this issue. Way too long for a warranty issue. Also, my truck was there for that long, I got it back, it was dirtier than ever inside and out. If they took a few minutes and cleaned it after working on the truck, they would have much better customer service.
The job gets done. I have to fish the answers out of service department. I understand they deal with car questions all the time, but If I don’t ask a million questions, I won’t get my answer. Oil changes are lengthy, it should be an hour tops, this is very hard when you work and have 2 babies. If somehow the oil changes can be worked into an hour, it would make the experience much better. Would go somewhere else but it’s the only Ford around.
Ron assisted me with getting some parts and I was very impressed with his willingness to make sure the parts were correct. He was on top of every step in the process and helped by transferring them to the body shop for paint work. Their pricing was fair, and the attention to detail was much appreciated. This place reminded me of how business used to be conducted when every customer mattered. If shopping for a Ford there is no other consideration. The worth of their care alone is a tremendous value to me.
I had a very good experience. The service dept was very helpful. I think his name was Tom was very attentive to my needs. I am handicapped an Tom walked to the showroom and got me a seat. When my car was ready, he drove it to me at showroom so I did not have to walk to car.
Fran and the team took great care of us as we purchased a used car for our son from two states away. My son had some specific requirements - manual, green, preferably sporty. I had some too - safe, relatively inexpensive, relatively reliable. Fran happened to have a car that met all of our criteria on his lot. Relying on not much more than photos and Frans testimony we made the decision to purchase. As we were heading to Ct. to complete the transaction, Fran called to let us know that he had discovered an issue with the car and didnt feel comfortable handing it over to us until the issue was resolved. He sent the car out for a $500 repair (they provided the receipt) and then found some couriers to meet us halfway with the car about a week later. We completed the paperwork in a Big Y parking lot and drove away happy. We are very satisfied with our Dowling Ford experience.

I purchased my truck this spring and had it back three times for the same problem. I understand why and accept. I park in handicap spaces so I have plenty of room and I frequently wash my truck. I now have three issues. A dent behind left passenger door, a deep scratch that someone tried to conceal with paint. Also the paint is starting to peel behind right wheel well. I can only assume who tried to conceal the scratch but the peeling paint is a ford issue.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. If you are in need of a new or used car, go and see the good people down at Dowling Ford. Absolutely everybody you talk to is extremely kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone here wants to help and they are super friendly. This isn’t your classic high pressure dealership that wants to take advantage of you, the people here really want to help you and they will not take advantage of you. The person working at the service desk made no effort to help me when I questioned the nature of the quoted repair. Ultimately I kept pressing him for an answer as the quote was around $1500 and merely wanted a breakdown of the services. Once again he made no effort to assist me and simply stated if I wanted to pay for the evaluation via cash or credit card. Stay away from this dealership as they clearly do not know the meaning of the words customer service.
They Gave me Great trade in price on my truck.Built me a new F-250 cheaper than you can get anywhere on a lot.Was only 1-1/2hrs total with Asher the finance guy. Fastest car pie I ever had.

Overall satisfied but one area that I’m not happy with is the service of my 2002 Thunderbird which only as 14,000. I was told that I had a leak in my power steering unit and Ford didn’t make the hose that was leaking under pressure. That’s it !!! I can’t believe there wasn’t something that could’t have been done to fix this issue. I’ve been buying Ford’s my entire life I have three of them now but when I buy the next vehicle I’m not sure it will be a Ford. The Thunderbird was an expensive vehicle and I expected more not only the service department but by Dowling Ford.

Process went pretty smooth only issue I have is the loud noise in front suspension that of course occurred after I drove 70 miles back home with a bill stating all issues have been fixed which wasn’t the case. Other then that the overall service was satisfactory

There is no doubt that this is the very best service I have gotten at ANY place of business.... let alone a car dealership/body shop/repair service. Bob who took care of me regarding body work on my Ford F150 went above and beyond. He was honest, he was fair & he was also true to his word regarding when the work would be done. My truck looks brand new :) Pat Is also amazing.... helping me with some recalls & some new running boards. I wrote a review last week due to a bad experience and management did inquire to call me back & discuss my review which I commend them for, however I left displeased and disappointed enough to write a second review due to my original being deleted off the site. A Lexus IS 300 is listed for 27,400 on their website. My father does auto inspections for a living and is familiar and works with auctions in selling cars. Long story short, this vehicle has a tick in the engine, the steering was off shifting to the right and a huge vibration in the entire front end of the car, and my father stated the oil pressure in transmission was off colored. The windshield also is after market and not manufactured by Lexus, poorer quality. If you catch my drift by this review yes the price is too good to be true.
Dan at Dowling Ford provided friendly and efficient service related to my purchasing of a used Jeep. The staff was respectful of my desire to practice appropriate COVID protocols including wearing masks. I saw no evidence or information that the vehicle or facilities received regular sensitization. The Jeep was serviced and presented nicely and the transaction was smooth. The purchase was to include a soft top which upon further inspection was missing half of the parts. The dealer offered to contact the previous owner, but no information or remediation has been offered as of yet. This missing $1,500 part has tainted an otherwise positive experience.

“The works” is a great package that is a thorough inspection of many aspects of the car. Reasonable pricing and was handled in a timely manner. Was told as I picked up the car (not when problem was discovered) that I had damage to one of the inside sidewalls of a tire. Was also told that they would attempt to find replacement tires and call me ASAP, and that never happened.

Did a wonderful job of getting our truck in and out for a service job. Easy to work with as well!Update: Since this appointment has been nothing but problems!!! The issue with our truck have gotten worse and worse since service, they have given me the run around multiple times saying the truck being unable to shift is normal while it is learning how I drive but this truck is a danger! Now they wont fix the problem that ford motor company corporate is saying they will! Makes appointments for you, then claims you do not have any appointments on the books, even though even corporate has confirmed the appointment time with them. We have been yanked around for months in regards to this issue, rendered down to one car, and then told theres no issue. I would implore them to put their family members into a truck, that has safety issues which has gotten worse since they “fixed” and put them onto 91 which a truck that may not shift out of gear, stall, or worse. I wish they would bring back the old service manager, he would have never allowed this to occur.
My family and I have been going to Dowling Ford since they opened up their small car dealership in Cheshire . My family has purchased 31 vehicles from this dealership. I grew up knowing that no other dealership existed let alone that there was any other brand of car. My dad was a Ford man and he made all five children Ford children LOL. I stepped off the Ford line once and got a Jeep Wrangler. I love my jeep and I will always have it however it was time for a new vehicle so I found myself back in Howard Warnken’s office. After not having seen Howie during the life of my jeep years, I was welcomed back into his office like I was family. Buying a car can stressful and confusing as we all know. However, to be able to walk into a dealership, a family owned dealership, that has made efforts to extend their familydynamic to their customers is priceless. Howard asked me what I was looking for. I told him, and with no hesitation he grab the keys and off we went for a ride. He said “ what do you think about the car?” I said “I really love it !!” So he said let’s go inside and figure out how to get you into this car. It was the simplest, easiest, stress free-car buying process I’ve ever had!! Howie took care of everything! One week later I drove my new car off the lot! Howard Warnken is the best example you can have of Service to the community, to his customers, to Ford motor Company, and to the Dowling Ford family. He’s not trying to get you to buy a car he is trying to genuinely make you happy. He has made my family happy with their car choice for over 40 years. Happy with the service I received. Fran, with sales, was prompt in responding to my emails and calls, before and after the sale. Finance guy was straight to the point. Due to work I wasnt able to get to dealership until 545, even though they close at 6pm, Fran stayed past 7, and I never felt rushed.

These guys are an old fashioned place with soft touch. Dont get dissuaded by their facilities which look a bit more like a used care place than a modern dealership. They are OLD SCHOOL. Got a used certified Explorer at a good price and they made sure to meet my needs. Needed new tires and Dan went out of his way to make sure he got me what I wanted. Dan tries TOO hard to please. I would recommend making the trip.

No masks worn by any of the employees. At one point 3 guys were huddled together in a single cubicle laughing and talking. No masks. The people in the waiting area are wearing masks, why aren’t you? Why no social distancing? Also, why no sanitation products ANYWHERE in sight for patrons? There was literally a box of disposable masks on a counter by the back door, so why aren’t any of you wearing them?
I drove an older vehicle & I needed to know what size n type of an alternator I have in my vehicle for a replacement because its no longer working properly so I called n asked them they researched the information on it & told me the original was a 65 amp type & there was a few others that also fit as well & had given me the parts numbers n the sizes of amps it can take as well.then I asked about the location of the instrument cluster relay & they told me exactly where its located in the dash area.both of the questions & answers were a very big help in regards to getting the proper information to get the repairs done.Very professional & knowledgeable in regards to older vehicles as well so its not surprising that I would recommend them as well to anyone with a ford vehicle older or newer folks.

From the walking in the door the first time to driving home my beautiful new car, Dan was attentive and knowledgeable. Dan was a knowledgeable salesman who handled everything professionally, his etiquette is the only thing I was thankful for. My car however was a complete LEMON. Even though the vehicle is 12 years old I expected better. With two sick kids on our way to a doctors appointment in December I was left stranded, it would not start. At this point (6 mo. removed from purchase) I thought no worries, this is a respectable dealer who will do right by me...I was mistaken. I was willingly increasing my budget for a new car, understandably putting money down, and hoping Dowling would work with me for a trade in. Again I was wrong. The manager (Jack) says to me, well if you bought this car privately, you wouldnt go back to the seller 6mo later would you? This was an as is sale. My response of course was no I would not. I communicated that I spent more at the time of purchase of this vehicle vs aprivate owner sale because I am buying from a dealer and wanted my family protected...the manager did not reciprocate any goodwill. At this point in time I realized I had wasted my time and money with this dealer. I was expected to pay a $109 hr fee for diagnostics to determine what the issue with my vehicle was prior to the appraisal/offer...I am currently in negotiations with a different dealer for said vehicle...If your buying brand a new car from this dealer, maybe everything works out fine for you, but if you buy used...be wary.My review is not intended to bash this dealer but truly educate a potential buyer of a previous customers experience.

I recently purchased a certified pre-owned Fusion from Dowling Ford and I couldnt be happier with my new car and the service I received from Vinny and Matt, and the young man who showed me how to use all the awesome interior tech tools. I test drove the car twice with Vinny and my husband, and not only was Vinny personable and professional, with a great sense of humor, his knowledge of the brand and car was impressive! Dan was extremely helpful to me! I had called because I was having an issue with my key fob and during the duration of the call he was amazing in assisting me. When I ended up going down to the dealership, he had given me his undivided attention and was very nice! Happy to say that he resolved the issues that I was having in a respectful and timely manner. Overall good experience. Sales man was nice and not pushy. They were ready for me as soon as I got there. No wait. They gave me decent value for my trade in as well. Only reason I gave it 4/5 instead of 5/5 is I bought a used car and it was missing the driver floor mat and all 4 tires were missing valve stem covers.
