I lived in the east side of Chicago, and still came all the way back to the north side to shop here. Called to ask policy for covid 19, before I went to store. I was told mask and distancing. Okay, I get there and was told I could not try on wigs before purchasing. I tried to work with them, as I traveled a distance to get there. How 🤔 would I know if wigs fit. I feel they are using the covid 19 as a gimmick to sale their wigs. Ended up purchasing a wig that was much to large for my head. Of course I later realized 🙄 NO RETURN AND FINAL SALE POLICY. I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN..HIGHLY OVER RATED, AND QUALITY, CUSTOMER SERVICE, HONESTY IN ADDITION TO STOCK IS LIMITED.

These peoples watch you like hawks in the store, and I tried to explain I never owned a wig before so I didn’t know how to fit them or even how to put one on correctly and they said oh you can’t try them on due to covid yet another lady was trying them on, I asked if I brought the wig cap if I could and they said no you buy I told them I’m not buying a wig without getting showed on to put them on correctly and why would I pay money for a wig if I can’t see what it looks like on me, I get due to covid rules have changed but another person was trying on a wig right next to me, this place just seemed to want your money and for you to get out they are not helpful at all here, plus they only let you try 3 wigs on anyways the other lady told me

The Latino lady in the wig section will DEFINITELY follow you. And it’s a shame because I come here all the time. I’ll be continuing to patron the one around the corner on Wilson, better people.

Had to change my review because my last experience wasn’t all that great. I guess people have stolen from this place quite a bit and them watching everything you do is annoying so haven’t gone back there in awhile.

The place is pretty big and I find what I need about 80% of the time. Clean store with polite employees. Ive been to places with better selection but usually in areas with a higher population of African American residents.Respectable find on the North side, so worth the visit.

I was looking for a particular wig, I called and the lady said she would hold it aside for me. I went in it was ready to buy and much cheaper than what I was gonna pay for it online. Good customer service.

I have been a customer of this neighborhood store for several years. The store is clean and packed with products. Aisle are easy to navigate and shelves are well organized. Budget makeup and bodycare items are plentiful, as are black haircare brands. If you are into ponytails, wigs, weaves, or braids, you will find a large selection of brands, colors lengths and styles of human hair, blends, and synthetics. Competitive price points.

Very helpful staff. My mom needed a wig after medical treatment and the employees were very nice. There were signs about limiting how many wigs you can try, but I think theyre there to stifle reckless wig handling. The woman helping us brought many wigs over for my mom to try on. A lot of options in wigs, you can spend as little as 30 dollars or have a nice quality wig for under 100$. Thank you for all your help.

Elim wig & Beauty is number one in my book. If and when you go there ask for Jane she is the wig stylist there and she can get down. I have been going there for years and the only one I deal with is Jane she is # 1 and i give Elim wig and Beauty 5 Stars

I’ve purchased a couple wigs from Elim wigs in which I use for my Drag shows at Hamburger Mary’s in Andersonville on Monday nights. The wigs work perfect for me as I play the role of Granny during the bingo shows there. These wigs hold up to the challenge of regular drag.Because of the heavy amount of makeup that I have to use, I am also required to wash these wigs quite regularly. This is generally a problem for many other wigs. But these wigs from Elim wigs wash beautifully!I’ve shopped here several times, and have never had a bad experience. The prices are average but the quality of the product is worth it. I’m very happy with this establishment and will continue to shop here in the future.

Ive been coming here for years I love this place. They have literally anything and everything you could want. Jewelry, makeup, wigs, wallets, sandals, all sorts of beauty supplies at a great price. This place is awesome and worth coming to. Street parking, and you have to check your bag at the front.The only downfall - - It can be slightly awkward shopping when theres like four people watching you the whole time. Just ignore it.

I actually went to the store on Howard and wasnt happy with the service. Then I drove here. The staff was very helpful and i was able to purchase a wig that suited me. You can try on 3 wigs at a time but have to purchase a cap. They have so many to choose from and other beauty supplys and jewelry. I would highly recommend them for all your beauty needs..

Very disappointed with the energy I received in this store. It’s unfortunate because I thought I had discovered my go to beauty supply stop. I went home and realized a product I purchased had already been used by someone else and came back with it but the ladies treated me like a liar. I won’t be going back, I rather not spend my coins in a place that is not respectful of me as a customer. Thank goodness I accidentally discovered a bigger beauty supply store just around the corner from this one.

Ooo la la cute cute cute. Reminds me of walking in an actual Korean cosmetic store. The place is well organized and well stocked. You will find a lot of cosmetics and skincare here. They carry brands such as Liole and Naruko and beauty diary sheet mask so stock up if your into Asian products. Prices are reasonable and the cashiers are friendly.

Do not ever go to this beauty supply store! They were terrible and they charged my card five times . I called my bank; my bank said that they were charging my card and excepting the charge but then they were declining it. they only declined it twice out of the five times where the funds were transferred back to my account. so then I told the employees that its their system and they literally told me that no its not them its my bank when my bank literally told me that the beauty supply store is literally messing with my card. the employees didnt listen to anything that the people at the bank said they didnt listen to me either. then I told him you guys really messed up my card everybody in the store heard the entire thing and the beauty supply said theres no way we can give me the items if my bank refunded my money. I was so pissed because it was really their fault. dont ever go there! I literally talked to two banks specialist and every bank specialist told them that it is their system messing up not my card. Just dont ever go there.

There wigs are old. They give wigs people has tried on. Some of them are damage. They wont take them back. The ones you try on, then they give you another one you think is new but its not. Be careful buying from them.

Didnt even go after talking to them on phone. Chicago street parking is very expensive and difficult, so I asked if I truly have 3 wig limit to try on. Yup, true. I said, its cheaper then to go to the suburbs where I can be a consumer. They said, OK, bye. So, no matter what they have, Im paying time and parking to be abused. My money is green elsewhere.

I dont like the place, the stuff is made very cheap I bought lipstick there and it was no good, also the people watch you like if your going to steal, I dont like that because I dont steal,they make you feel very uncomfortable .would definitely not shop there ever again.

Store people with forced smiles were walking around following customers watching them like hawks. Seems like when beauty supply owners who are predominantly Asian open in black neighborhoods they do not trust or respect their customers. Case in point: 3-wig try on limit = hurry up buy and GTFO. No bathrooms in even the megastore size supply places. They would rather you leave and go find another bathroom than to accommodate you where other stores provide bathrooms knowing customers will spend more if they dont leave the store.If they dont trust or are so afraid that were going to steal from them then they should not open businesses in our neighborhoods. They certainly would not patronize our businesses if they were in in their neighborhoods.The item that I was going to buy I ended up putting down and leaving the store because I did not like being followed around. Blacks should stop patronizing Asian stores until they respect us.

I am a drag queen and have been shopping here for years. But, this afternoon, 7 of my drag queen friends and I were shopping for wigs when they KICKED US OUT!!!! They told us that the store was for women and that we were not welcome there because we made the other real women in the store (all two of them) uncomfortable. I am appalled at their blatant discrimination against the LGBT community and I urge you to not shop at (boycott) a business that practices illegal discrimination like this. Needless to say, the eight drag queens who were shopping this afternoon will never set foot in there again.

Amazing customer service, Organized and neat sections

They have a lot of stuff, but customer service is bad. Majority of people who shop there are black yet they follow them around, but when the customer needs help they arent much help and you feel rushed.
