Put a hold on a trek bike and went in to check it out. Did not like the ride and really wanted a townie 9d which aren’t available locally. Charlie was quite helpful with discussing my preference and the importance of going for what I wanted. He also invited me to try the townie electric and it was amazing! Unfortunately, not in the stars for me right now but felt quite positive about my experience there. I would definitely go back when I want to go electric!!

I don’t like writing bad reviews but I see below it is a reoccurring situation. I wanted to take on a new sport and decided to buy an entry level mountain bike. I am a fan of Trek and thought the local store in my neighborhood (wicker park) would be the right place to do this and engage with my local community and the with the sport. I bought a Marlin 7 and since I am aware of the shortage in supply I asked the saleswoman about delivery times. She looked at the computer and gave me a date that was about a month ahead and said that usually bikes come earlier. I was very happy to have the bike for the last weeks of the season and made plans accordingly. I call the store a day ahead and the reply on the other side was very disinterested with the message “don’t call us we call you”. The week passes I swing by the store and the salesman this time mansplains to me that the date I was given is an ETA a very fluid estimate and that he has no way to know where the bike is or when will it arrive. Very surprising. The salesman was again very disinterested and said he can’t do anything for me and that he can just cancel the purchase. I know an entry level bike are not as profitable for the store as professional bike but this really made me feel that my business doesn’t matter. Trek is a great bike maker but this is very unfortunate that this is the experience at the flagship store of a company at this scale.

Had the most amazing well informed guidance from Charlie in which bike is best for me and why. I know absolutely nothing about bikes and the experience he provided was outstanding! I hope Trek knows what a valuable employee they have. Thank you again for your help and knowledge!

I wanted to buy my first road bike with all the necessary equipment. I came to the store where the team provided above and beyond end-to-end service starting from defining necessary bike size to picking the right lights as well as tuning the bike and delivering it to my house. My bike is delayed. I called and she said she had no idea when will it come. I just wanted a ETA. She couldn’t give one and said wish I good for the rest of my day then hang up on me, very impatiently. I don’t know what to say seriously. I made purchasing decision based on ETA and now I was told it’s delayed and no one knows when it’ll come. So when am I expecting it? Next year?She could’ve explain more on the process and delivery mechanism behind to a customer, which I would think is her job.

Just stopped by to purchase a trek sport 5. I absolutely felt like they don’t need my business whatsoever. The guy at the counter was trying to pull the website to see how long it takes to order it but the page was not coming up. He finally said you would probably need to be waiting till next June or July if you get lucky lol. Who does business like that..I am a trek customer for 15 years. I will never walk into this store again.

We always experience top notch customer service at Trek. I love the respect my kids received as riders and customers. Your team went out of their way to help my daughter with her bike and after recognizing how independent she is with taking care of her bike, offered to teach her how to grease her chain. It was awesome!

Exemplary service and attention to detail at the Wicker Park Trek store. Everyone at the shop was courteous and spent time helping us with our new bicycles - from showing us the features (it’s been years since we’ve ridden a bike) to setting up the car bike rack! Never felt any pressure to buy anything unnecessary. Galen, Julius, Jesse, Ben and the rest of the staff have been awesome throughout the overall process. Highly recommend this shop and have been telling all our friends if they’re in the market for bicycles to come to the Wicker Park location.

The customer service was excellent!!! The work done on my bike was also great! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because they didn’t wash my bike as advertised. Other than that this is a great place to get your bicycle serviced. I’ll definitely return.

I’ve been coming here for years and they’re always great, which makes me sad to leave this review.I needed a substantial overhaul after getting hit by a car and my entire rear wheel and drive train being trashed. The work took more than twice as long as I was told (more than an extra week) due to an equipment delivery mixup. When I asked the guy ringing me up, “Can I get a discount or a credit or anything because of the delays?” he just kind of shrugged and said, “Sorry, I don’t have the power to do that.” The work was great as always (thanks Alex!) but it was disappointing that the additional time and money I was cost by being bikeless was basically ignored.

I started this adventure at a competing local Chicago bike shop (hint, it starts with a K). I got my broken spoke fixed and was told it was impossible to get a replacement cassette for my higher-end mountain bike due to supply chain issues. I felt brushed off regarding the cassette so I stopped by Trek directly after picking up my bike from K. I was in the Trek shop for less than 30 seconds when the young kid (Jeremiah) behind the counter indicated half a link in my chain was broke and the chain was close to complete failure. Not a peep about this from the previous bike shop who had my bike for several days. He then walked though my options with a cassette replacement given the industry-wide product shortages. Had an intelligent conversation regarding what was possible and not possible with my setup. This kid is half my age and has the expertise I was looking for. He then proceeded to recommend a tune up (I completely agreed) and indicated my grips were worn (Ive been meaning to upgrade them for 2 years but always forget). The worst experience ever!! I bought a Trek bike on line, called to confirmed if they have it in stock, they told me yes but I have to come first to confirm in person purchase! When I came all the way from Gurnee they told me actually they don’t have my bike! It was in their system but the sales person never actually checked if they have my bike in store?! So unprofessional and ignorant service! Did not offer apology either!!!

Got my brakes fixed and handlebar tape changed, the Hispanic man that helped me was super nice and fixed it fast I will be coming back for a tuneup

The mechanic I worked with, Alex, was excellent. He was very patient with me and was sure all of my needs were met and questions answered, despite obviously being very busy. He even made sure that the adjustments we were making to my Speed Concept would match the specs of my current road bike, and basically game me a free fit. Great conversation on some of his time trial and pursuit biking!

Every sales associate I worked with while in the store were extremely helpful. Jesse helped ensure that the bike I was requesting to test ride was readily available when I came into the store. While I am not a customer of this store, I was passing by when my sons bike was in need of a repair. His training wheels kept coming loose.Trek had tools available at the door for anyone in need of a DIY repair, and the associate even came over to assist if needed. They did not care that his bike was of another brand.Great customer service is a rarity. Especially when I’m not even a customer.Thanks Trek!!

I highly recommend this place. I’ve been coming to the Wicker Park location for a few years and Julius and the team have taken care of a few of my bikes with excellent service packages & quality service overall. I even purchased my first “real” road bike here in March 2020 and it’s been a game changer in my progression as a rider.

This Trek bike store and repair shop is the top of the line. The staff are very knowledgeable, professional and experienced. Have been to other non-branded bike stores for my Trek and leave feeling unsure of the workmanship. The team at the store clearly know what they are talking about and did not try to up-sell me on everything. Nice experience. Trek is a high class product and a high class operation. Look no further.

When I went into the store with my question it was answered quickly and simply I was pointed in the right direction for a pair of 2 bolt cycling shoes and offered a size check and more. Great service overall and a good price for a good product. I bought a pair of Bontrager Espressos and am very satisfied as staff recommended me toward the pair.

My first visit the sales lady was very nice and helpful. I bought pedals and hadnt brought my bike with and she suggested I bring my bike in to securely install my pedals. I was grateful for her explanation on why this was important.The pedals did not fit unfortunately so when I went to return them a salesman helped me. I cant speak highly enough of the quality of service that the team here provides. Not a knock on other bike shops in town, but I will only ever have my Trek bike serviced here with these guys. Raquel was really great and helped me pick the right bike for me. There was no pressure to spend over my budget (I did anyway) but I’m really happy with what I got. Her process was fun and stress free. I think her friendliness and passion for bikes really rubbed off on me, and I’m excited to come back for tune ups and accessories.

3 years ago my partner and I purchased 2 bikes from the Chicago, Wicker Park store. Since then due to the service and quality of our new bikes I have promoted both to so many people Ive lost count. Had my inner tube replaced two weeks ago. Went flat while idle two days ago. Took it back yesterday and got it replaced on the house. Just came out of Target, and its flat again...one day later. This isnt the first time Ive had a flat after getting one replaced by them, either. Never going back here again. Now Im short another $50 on Ubers from being stranded. Id recommend going somewhere local

I recently purchased an e-bike here and was helped by the amazing staff. Raquel helped me with my bike purchase and she did a great job making me feel safe while the covid-19 was happening. The store even delivered the bike at no extra charge fully assembled. I also was able to purchase accessories and they installed them before the delivery.

Super shop and staff! Even in covid times they still have spares and parts to stay out on the trails.

Delightful folks. I just bought a used Trek bike elsewhere and stopped in to get a spare inner tube and ask some questions about maintenance and service pricing. Fantastic service and I was surprised that the price of a tube and tire levers was cheaper than anything I had seen online.

My wife took her bike her after a different bike shop couldnt help her with the understanding of why her tire went bad. They explained it to her and replaced the tire for free! Very professional and efficient process. Would highly recommend this business to any bike rider levels!

I brought in a flat tire yesterday. I was expecting to wait a few days before the repair was complete, but they fixed my problem immediately even though they were closing in a few minutes. Great experience. I went to kozys bike shop first and they told me my frame was broken and I should throw out the bike. Luckily I stopped by trek they took a look and realized that wasnt the case. Ordered me a new wheel and had my bike back to me in a week! Highly recommend bringing your trek here for servicing !

Best bike shop experience in the city. Aesthetically it’s like going to a new car dealership but for bikes. However, you don’t get pushy sales people. The employees here are not pushy and very helpful and highly knowledgeable. They will help you learn what bike is right for you, get you fitted, and help you with maintenance or any other bike queries. Trek bikes aren’t budget bikes, but your paying a premium for high quality components and customer service. This is the Apple Store of bike shops, just go check it out and you’ll see for yourself. The employees here are fantastic. So helpful and not pushy. They’re always interested in what me or my wife want and never try to push things we don’t need. I’ve bought 3 bikes and multiple pieces of equipment and accessories through them. They’re genuinely lovely every time I go.

I went in looking for a helmet and a tube for my sons back tire. The sales person showed me my helmet options and then helped me do forensics on my wifes photo showing me the tire/tube size I needed. Overall I was impressed with the expertise and knowledge offered me by the staff. They also gave me a test ride of the electric assist bike. Killer ride, even on flat streets!100% I would go back to Trek Wicker Park!

Bought my Madone here and had it fitted. Great service, very friendly. One of the staff went home to get his own bike because they did not have the frame size to try out. The bike had barely come out so there were not many around. Bringing my bike back for maintenance as well. Great service.

Jordan was awesome to work with. Just relocated from out of state and I was interested in biking for my commute. I came in with less than an hour before close and Jordan answered all of my questions and then some! After letting him know that my tools were still in transport he gave me his own tool to tighten/change anything up! That’s great service!

Dont let the name fool you, this is more than just a store! Its also a service shop for bikes of all kinds / brands. They have been super reliable for delivering the highest quality work and the staff are always very accommodating and courteous.

I came in with little to no knowledge around the things I needed (a bike lock and iPhone mount). They gave me a couple of options and cited the reasons for their popularity, not just that they were of a certain price point or being brand driven. My sales associate (so sorry I forget your name, bruv!) was helpful, kind about my cycling ignorance, and was genuinely helpful throughout to a newbie.

Great store with amazing service. Everyone there is extremely friendly and helpful. Julius, in particular, was amazing. He got all the work done on my bike very quickly and even submitted a warranty claim for me when he found something wrong with my rear wheel. Whether you are looking to buy a new bike or need work done on your current bike, I wouldnt go anywhere else!

Went in at 6:30pm Wednesday, September 11th. I travel for work and I try to make it to Trek stores all over the country. I come to this store when I’m in town. The young lady greeted me when I walked in AND remembered me from several months ago. She helped me with picking out a Kit and a lady’s jersey. To make sure I was happy, she even took the bib shorts off the mannequin. What great service!!!!!

I got to test ride a few different bikes and ended up walking out with one that a staff member recommend, and its awesome. I started my bike search here, went to a few difficult bike stores, and then came back here to purchase--their customer service and level of expertise was better than the others. All the staff are super cool. Honestly, the first time I went in I didn’t know what to expect in terms of atmosphere (whether it would be chill or high-pressure-sales or what) with it being a corporate store. But all the staff members are really helpful and knowledgeable when answering questions and while they obviously have bikes to sell they are more chill than a lot of shops I’ve been in.

Great shop was super friendly team and talented bike techs. They helped put the pieces back together after a nasty crash and just tuned up my bike before a big race. Both experiences were awesome, fast, and thorough. Excited to have these guys in the neighborhood!

I snapped the cable for my rear derailleur while I was trying to adjust it. Dropped my bike off at noon at Trek and they fixed it up by 5pm and washed the bike. They also pointed out that my chain was worn and the brake pads are shot but I will take care of those later.

Matt was really helpful despite me not showing up until close to closing time. I gave him a very vague idea of what type of bike I needed and he directed me to one that was perfect. I also appreciated that he didnt try to sell me the most expensive one they had to fit my needs, he just explained the different benefits of the different models and let me decide how many bells and whistles I needed. It was a relaxed atmosphere and I appreciated the salesmanship.

I went in to have my Trek serviced after two years. The guys at Wicker Park were friendly and knowledgeable. Great speedily service. What more could you ask?

Went here recently to have a bike built. Spoke with Julius and he quoted a full build in under a week. Price was higher than a typical LBS price but with the weather getting nicer, that less than a week build time was attractive. Dropped off all the parts on a Wednesday and the build was finished the following Monday. Everything came out fantastic. Any issues I experienced were with the parts and had nothing to do with the work that Trek did. When I went back to speak with them about the issues they explained why everything was done the way it was done and they really left no stone unturned.Aside from that build, I stop in every now and again to look and for events and the employees are always welcoming and willing to talk/help.
