I have been to Roscoe for minor repairs, seasonal tuneups/routine maintenance and major “restoration” work alike and have left beyond satisfied each time. More than fair pricing, honest and friendly staff, quality work and supporting local make it a no brained. Added plus of the air hose out front being super convenient living in the neighborhood too, my only spot for all things bike.

They are the most genuine and Humble shop in the area! I couldnt tip with a card so just ask to increase service cost and bring cash next time ;) Parts are hard to come by so dont discount your spare parts, wheels, hubs especially! I still cant believe the prices and I build and tear my bike down myself: trust me. No matter who is working the best attention will be spent on your dream bike. Will bring everybody to this shop in the future!

Staff provided me a great tune-up for a worthwhile price. I asked for their added assistance in perhaps removing adhesive materials remaining on my bike rack after my having taken off the duct tape Id used to keep bungee cords fixed in place when carrying boxes, etc. They did this quite well and without added charges. So appreciative! Their providing an air hose located outside of their storefront also shows true care for all cyclists. HIGHEST MARKS! Check them out!

Awesome guys, and great service. They helped me restore a Bob Jackson from the 70s that was passed down from my pops, and they did a fantastic job on a custom build on a Salsa touring bike. Not the biggest inventory, but they will get you what you want, and youll leave happy. Im happy to support this independent Local Bike Shop!

Wrote a bad review about roscoe bike shop the other week. Did some investigating and found that the distributor of the part i was waiting for was on back order. I just picked up my bike from getting a tune up from here and I was impressed with the customer service and quality of their service. Everyone I met was happy to help me with my questions.

Overall: Great service at a great price, RVB will be my go-to from now on!The good: Dropped off the bike for an fix and they called back within a few hours, even though the quote was 24 hours. Very reasonably priced compared to other shops, and the service was friendly and helpful.The not-so-good: They are quite popular and, especially with COVID, the lines can get quite long.

I had tried two different shops before finding Roscoes. I didnt have an appointment or had called, but they were still able to help me! They were honest about the work my bike needed and how long it would take before a full tune-up could happen. But where also able to do some quick work for me to be able to keep riding my bike in the mean time!

Anyone who rides daily knows that your typical bike shop is usually filled with grouchy techs who want to make you feel small. Thats NOT the case here. The staff seem like they genuinely WANT to help, and its so refreshing. Prices are good too, especially when you factor in the neighborhood theyre in. Kozy might get it back a day sooner, but they wont remember you next time, or even care you were there the 1st.

I walked an hour with my bike to get a flat fixed ASAP so I could do my job. I was told it wouldnt be ready for TWO HOURS and that I had to find something to do for all that time not being allowed in the shop and with the street they are on being FULL of affluent couples with fancy strollers all walking around without masks on on the second highest day of Covid positivity in Chicago!!! I asked for the tube and walked my bike all the way back home to do it myself so I could get to work. A flat should take no more than a few minutes for a professional mechanic to fix. I have never had a shop not immediately fix a flat.In response to the response from the shop: I am a daily, year-round bike rider. I have been in multiple bike shops since Covid began. Yours is the only one that didnt allow customers inside and wouldnt immediately fix a flat. A person who works on their bike needs their bike fixed immediately and every bike shop I have ever dealt with has, including Tailwind Cycles just earlier this week, which I highly recommend. Why not just fix the flat? It takes two minutes max. Recreational bike riders have been burdening bike shops and to be honest, they shouldnt get priority. A year round bike rider who runs a business on her bike every day regardless of the weather feeds yall in the winter and you should value that. I just moved here, so yall dont know that about me yet, but I will be taking my bike elsewhere for my frequent biking needs.

I originally brought my bike to another shop for a tune up and to get my brakes fixed because they were squealing loudly. After 3 trips to that shop, they still couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. I decided to go to Roscoe Village Bikes after a few friends recommended it. The service was quick (took 3 days to get my bike back and this was considered to be long for them because they were backed up) and the staff was very friendly. Ive been to several bike shops in the city and theres this general douchey/stuck up vibe, which is not the case at Roscoe Village Bikes. Thanks for fixing my brakes and at a fair price too!

The whole crew at Rosecoe village bikes have been great to work with. They are not pushy and their prices are very reasonable. They know their stuff and willing to listen to customers requests. Even though they do not carry electric bikes, I have had my Bosch powered bikes serviced here. The tune-ups basically. One time, one the Nuvinci hubs started acting up and Ryan took his time to remedy this and restore the functionality. They go above and beyond and as I said, they are not greedy or pushy. For their excellent work ethic and customer service, they get 5 stars.

I brought MULTIPLE bikes into the shop within this past year. The shop was honest of what needed to be done and they explained everything in detail of what they were going to do. Very polite, knowledgeable, and very fair priced! Didn’t feel pressured or lied to anytime. Never had to take a bike back for the same problem. They have an eye to detail as one time they even noticed something “dangerously” off with one of the bikes and fixed the problem. Ayyyee..I appreciate that.

I don’t have much cause to use local bike shops because I tend to carry out mechanical work myself but a tubeless tire install defeated me and these guys got it on (albeit a struggle still I think) the very day I dropped it off.I’ll be sure to pass whatever business I can their way in future and you may just see me out and about in some of their kit I spotted hanging in the window this summer because you can never have too many sets of gear.Top job thanks guys

Great attitude and super helpful folks! Had to come in unexpectedly and they checked my bike on the spot when my gears were sticking and fixed right away! They were also immensely helpful and not at all pushy when I was looking for my first road/gravel bike. They answered all my dumb questions and you can tell they want you to learn and understand your gear. Will be making this my go-to spot for sure.

The shop was beautiful. Every thing was organized and laid out very nicely. The employees were very nice. They let me test ride two different bikes so I would know which one that I liked best. They also gave me valuable knowledge about biking. Will definitely return.

RVBs helped me find the perfect tires for Chicago winter commuting. First they showed me a few options and then brought out a heavier tread after hearing out my concerns. Had the bike ready in about 20 minutes and I was off and riding. These guys are great.

This is my favorite bike shop, ever. Ive been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Everyone is super nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. Youll get rolling along on an awesome steed in no time. They have everything for kids to commuters on a budget to pros that want that edge and everything in between.The mechanics are top-notch, too. Theyve been able to fix anything Ive broken, coach me along while Im learning how to wrench, get oddball parts, and build bikes and wheels.As an extra bonus its a family owned community-oriented shop. Its good to know the money spent there goes to strengthen the local economy.

This place is great! Theyre one of the few shops that I would trust to give me advice without having done any research before hand. They dont try to nickel and dime you or try to sell you on the most expensive thing. I have two very old bikes but theyre not judgy at all and will help you with any kind of bike you have.

Fantastic service and very quality work. They always finish tune-ups on or before time. Very knowledgeable and speedy. You get a very homey vibe and will opt to not do something if it doesnt need to be done.I told them to change out my chain and they asked what was wrong with it. I just said that it was old. But since there was no rust, they said it was better to keep the original chain on until it breaks.

Trust me - the owner of this great little shop knows what he is doing and what he is talking about. Would go back in a heartbeat. I wont go anywhere else to get my bike fixed ever again.

Had issues removing the tire from the frame to replace a flat, so we took it into this local shop. 10 min go by and theyre still working on the bike. I hear a loud bang, they said the tube burst when they were inflating it. Waited another 5 min, walked into the back to check on the bike, theyre replacing the rim tape at an additional charge without asking. They said it was crappy tape and itll only be an additional $3.50. They then say the tire blew out and that it needs to be replaced. I asked how and why. They said the tire is old. The tire is less than a year old... After asking a few people, I believe they blew out the tire, then charged us for their mistake blaming it on the tire. Why would they replace the tube the first time without checking the tire? No apologies from them, no communication while working on it, no more business from me ever again

Just brought my bike in for a deluxe service. The guys here are great. They gave me great advice on fixing my bike up, which I rode all winter and was in bad shape. I got the bike back a day later and its like a new bike. They even replaced my derailleur for free. Highly recommend.

Came in with a flat, I was away from my neighborhood, they said it would take (a reasonable) 20 minutes. Ten minutes and $17 later I was back on the road.

I recently had a bent chain ring on an older tandem bike which I needed to get replaced. I stopped by a nationwide chain bike shop (name not to be mentioned) because I assumed they would just have one in stock, and was told they couldnt order a replacement part because it just isnt out there. So I headed into RVB on my way back home and within one minute the service/parts guy had located one and placed an order for it. It was exactly what I needed and came in quickly. Long story short my tandem is up and running smoothly! Thank you Roscoe Village Bikes for being in my neighborhood. Long live the Local Bike Shop! I will never doubt you again!
