Everything about this place is awesome. The staff are kind and generous. The space is cute, bright, and comfortable with plenty of available seating. So far Ive tried their croissant sandwiches, which are made fresh, and they are super tasty and affordable. The coffee and lemonades are great. This is truly such a lovely place to work or meet friends for a drink. Could not recommend enough!
Nice bright spot with a lot of seating. Good prices and super nice staff. The sandwiches are fresh and big, will be back regularly since I started working near by.
This establishment is absolutely beautiful. The staff and customer service is impeccable. Then not to mention that there proceeds fund a school for childrens tuition. Its is joyful and fulfilling to know that you eat good, great service and supporting an amazing cause ❤.
Good food, great coffee, amazing atmosphere. I would Hang out here all day! Comfortable and homey yet lots of space. Plus the people are fantastic. Cant recommend enough!
This cafe is really cute and helps the community, its a non-profit and the proceeds go to Chicago Hope Academy.Street parking is easy, its right in front and free. The coffee was really good and there are a few tables you can study, read, chat at.There is local artwork available to purchase as well.
Love their sandwiches, my good sis makes them the best - with love. They are so addicting, but the energy the place provides is amazing. The space is bright, bathrooms are good, no complaints there. The bottomless coffee is also good if youre going to be there a while.Only issue I have is their pride in serving the police (yuck) and it can get a little nosey if youre trying to study.
Beautiful spot, friendly staff. Plus: there is a corner with kids books. A cozy space to relax and get inspired while working.
My new spot without a doubt!! This place is awesomely wonderful with great food and drink options. A lovely atmosphere with lots of plants and different types of seating arrangements and there is even a humidifier keeping the space extra fresh!! Chicago Hope Cafe bravo!!!
This is my go-to coffee shop on the way to work. Great coffee, friendly service, excellent atmosphere. Highly recommend
Wonderful experience. Met my frat brothers there for breakfast. Great space. And my omelet was good.
Such a great hidden gem! Homemade scones, fresh coffee, and a staff that was so sweet and friendly. Coming back here when Im in the area for sure ☺️
So sad to hear they will be closing. We love visiting here when we are in town! Stop in before they close!
Great cafe with wonderful people and plenty of space to spread out and get work done.
Small Cafe, very friendly. Placed large box lunch order, everyone loved the sandwiches. Tasty and great portion. Will definitely order again.
My first time there was absolutely AMAZING!!! Very clean and professional nice atmosphere and the FOOD is delicious (very therapeutic)
Amazing place! Its a definite place where you can come and lounge around. Dont judge it by its cover however. Its definitely one of those hole in the wall kind of places; a treasure in Chicago. And the food is made right then and there, no microwave food here. Christian music playing is a plus personally. Great place if you want to do homework or small work in general.
Very welcoming Coffee,My friend and I went there for Breakfast from New York, the lady made the food with love and was very compassionate and caring, Good food and even asked for feedback and there nothing bad to say about the food, just perfect and cool spot,Would recommend to anyone seeking a good meal. Thanks for the service.
This place has been a staple for me as a frontline healthcare worker during the pandemic - The Katrina (the sandwich, must try) and all of their sandwiches are big enough to satisfy the hungriest of individuals. They look out for their customers with the most personable of service. The coffee is splendid too. Bottom line: Everything is Made with Love!
Love the feel of this Cafe. Its friendly, quaint with good food and beverages options!
Beautiful space, great staff, and the best BLT in the Chicagoland area.
Found this cafe on the way to work. Great way to treat yourself in the morning! Great coffee and delicious breakfast sandwiches! the cafe itself is bright, clean and cozy all at the same time.
Great space for getting work done, meetings, or just hanging with friends
I love this coffee shop! The staff here will always have a smile and a good conversation. They have an awesome mission in the Westside. The coffee that is sourced here is great and when they open up for seating again the environment is welcoming. Great job and I appreciate the encouragement!
Very wholesome, food is excellent and prepared before your very eyes. Facility provides free wifi and is very clean, has a home atmosphere with sincere love!
Beautiful atmosphere and very nice people, would highly recommend
Great atmosphere. Great employees. Great food. Great coffee. Great Cause.🙌🤲
This place is a MUST visit in Chicago. The food is delicious and the coffee to die for!!!!! They also went out of their way to make special gift cards for a project I was working on with my kids..... I cant say enough about the staff!!!!!!! They LOVE their mission, the school the support,, the community, their customers, and their coffee. These people are literally changing the world! I cant wait to get back to Chicago and make this my first stop!!!!!
After filming an episode of Chicago Fire at Hope, i had a taste for one of their highly recommended Sandwich’s. I was blown away! Very close to Cinespace for lunch and breakfast! Will definatly be returning! Thank you!
Beautiful shop, great customer service & amazing coffee!!!
Great food, atmosphere and customer service I highly recommend!
Excellent service, warm wonderful environment! Staff is courteous!
Hope Café is an excellent place to read, work, chat with the staff, and simply to enjoy one’s coffee. Katherine is a master of interior decoration, keeping the place both comfortable and aesthetic. And if you need a suggestion on what food or flavoring would pair best with your coffee, Katrina will fix you up with the best recs. This place is truly a gem.
What an absolute gem! You receive a warm welcome when you enter an a see you soon when you leave. I do not eat red meat or drink coffee and the staff was a big help in assisting me in my order . A great location to meet and get some work in. 10 out of 10 !
Great environment, staff and food! Would definitely recommend!
Enjoyed a great morning here with my girlfriend at one her favorite cafés. They had an amazing breakfast sandwich with a quiet and comfortable space to complete some work. A definite go to when in the area. Check this place out !
Katrina helped me out today and was beyond helpful and accommodating. We just moved into the area and she let me know a bit about the Cafes mission and background. Obviously the space is beautiful and will be great for hangs once things go back to some sense of normal, but the coffee and food were particularly outstanding. I got the Kenyan pourover which was as clean and smooth as Katrina mentioned it to be, but equally delicious. I snagged the Nutella Mocha for my better half at home, and that thing is as great as the other reviews led me to believe. We also got some breakfast sandwiches that absolutely hit the spot. Thanks to everyone working here; what a perfect, cozy place to have in our neighborhood!Cheers,Tom
Definitely one of my favorite places. Quick service, friendly employees, and wide selection of drink options (including Italian soda, which was a pleasant surprise). Purchasing from here helps support a local school, so you can make a difference in the community while getting caffeinated. The interior has cushy couches and chairs and many windows, making it a great place to chill out. Right off 290 and free street parking, this is a hidden gem that more people definitely need to know about!
This is a beautiful space with excellent coffee. It is a gem on the West Side and supports a school that has blessed many students and families. That being said, they recently laid off one of their employees who had been working there faithfully for 5 years. He was let go without explanation and without management contacting him directly to deliver the news. I am incredibly saddened by this as I find it hard to support a business that prides itself on serving families but treats their own employees with complete disregard and lack of integrity.
I moved to this neighborhood a year ago and this is my favorite community spot. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is homey. I needed a place to do work during this pandemic and this is the perfect spot!
It is refreshing to have quiet little corner coffee shop that you can do homework or read a paper. Free Wi-fi helps too. Good Eats, Friendly Staff!
I loved the space. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff. Great working environment. I love the mint tea.
A great atmosphere and work space
Good sandwiches, good service, and searing hot coffee!
From the new Director Catherine that we met at the register with such a pleasantly pleasing attitude to the talented and sweet Katrina with the most delicious Avocado Breakfast sandwich (hold the bacon) Ive had outside of my own. Hope Cafe experience was memorable and due to be repeated. I first acquainted myself with this establishment 2 years ago and Ive loved this space since that day. A non profit well worth SUPPORTING! Gratitude Katrina and Catherine for your hospitality! See you soonFatima- Wellness Is Life
Great cafe. Their pour over was good. The proceeds goes to a non-profit. Nice little place. Very cosy. The baristas were super friendly
Cat & Kat are angels! Just got a very delicious slow pour decaf from mexico and a tenderly fresg blueberry muffin and yummy cream cheese bagel. Always love stopping in! What a friday great start to a weekend. Highly recommend ya order from this sweet place. Take care everyone. Enjoy!
Great, light filled interior. Wonderful friendly staff. Super cool vintage Turner building. And great coffee and mission. Whats not to love?
Great location for the Tri-Taylor and Medical District. Coffee, tea and food options all good. They do carry vegan cream cheese for those looking. In an old German Fitness Club, so the atmosphere is a nice change to a lot of the other shops in the area. Plus being a patron helps kids who attend Chicago Hope Academy.
Located in a super interesting building (I would be curious to know it’s history) the Chicago Hope Cafe has awesome sandwiches and coffee! Get the Caprese sandwich, you won’t regret it! Also their lunch deal is awesome!!
Great coffee and sandwiches, best breakfast sandwich around! awesome staff. easy and free street parking.
Very spacious and well decorated. Plus, kind servers. Thank you, guys!
So kind & cozy. I have not found a better place in the city to get coffee & work done in peace. Spacious, lovely
Nice tasting breakfast croissant
I had a great experience at Hope Cafe! The woman who work there was nice and had great customer service. I also love their bacon croissants and the vibe that their atmosphere gives off. I def will be going back!
We were here for a birthday party. Great space. Big, accommodating, no fuss, no worries. The vibe is great and it sounds like a very good deal when it comes to hosting events. I have only heard good things from the other guests, and the hosts.
One of NOW my favorite spots to go to just sit back and do work as its a relaxed atmosphere!
This coffee shop is a gem. The atmosphere is awesome. The staff are truly beautiful people and the mango infused green tea is an elixir from heaven! Chicago Hope Cafe is possible one of the best things I found during my stay.
Cozy, spacious, sunny, and quiet, this coffee shop was a great spot for homework. Brick wall must absorb sound because conversations around me didnt bother me at all. I could hardly hear them. There were also a number of couches that looked clean and comfortable (Ive seen VERY worn out furniture in other places). Overall a beautiful and well-maintained space for a good cause. All proceeds go to Hope Academy, a local neighborhood high school with an amazing mission. The host said this space could be reserved for events and parties. Perfect space for a movie screening.
I came here while on a trip to a music festival. Ambiance is a mix of old and new. Jazz played in the background while I enjoyed a very well poured and delicious mocha. Service was spot on and the gentleman behind the counter offered plenty of free advice to me on things in Chicago. If I ever come back to town, I will make a point to visit again.
There is a new lady overseeing the place. Very kind service, clean and large open space, clean bathrooms, fresh coffee and decent selection of hot and cold food. New paint job inside and new furniture. Space can be rented out. Very open and cute.
Anything to help a great neighborhood business that benefits a local school. Coffee was delish!
Ive only had two Almond milk lattes in my life. The first I hatted, the one from Hope Caffe I loved. The breakfast sandwich was good too.
A beautiful location with a beautiful cause. I have not found another place in the city that offers such a peaceful environment. I love it! cant wait to host my next event in this space!
This is my favorite local coffee shop. The staff are friendly, the coffee is delicious, the music is excellent, the wifi is reliable, and the atmosphere is quiet enough for work without being too oppressively quiet for other people to talk. Plus, the money goes to a good cause in the area (look up Chicago Hope Academy). Keep doing what youre doing! I only wish that the hours were longer.
Love this place for studying. It’s an amazing spacious light filled space that just makes one want to think creatively. The guys who volunteer their time working there at great as well. Super welcoming and they make delicious coffee and food items
This is the Best Coffee Shop in the West Side, the Best family owned Coffee Shop in the City. This is way more than just Comfort, its like my 2nd home, the Staffs are like a family to me. I will keep coming more often. Im from the South Side/ South Suburbs.
Pleasant experience
Great place for lunch. Food was delicious. Coffee was good.
Friendly staff, laid-back atmosphere. Good coffee and breakfast croissant. I wish they had later and weekend hours, but I make a point to come here when I can.Edit 6/8/21: Should have updated this review way earlier - They have remodeled the interior, replaced the furniture, and have added additional/later hours. Its a really great cafe.
Laid back. Plenty of space. Friendly staff. The coffee is great. Impressed with their bacon, egg and cheese croissant, including the price.
Best coffee and espresso drinks in the area.Their Nutella Mocha is amazing.
I have to confess- I come here every week to hang out with my girlfriends. It is a lovely spot to grab a quick and yummy meal - or to sit for a couple of hours and chat with the girls. The food is great- lots of healthy options like oatmeal or an egg scramble bowl- or if youre looking for something sweet, amazing fruit scones, sunrise cookies or doughnuts! There are big sofas and comfy chairs. A nice place to relax by yourself as well. This cafe is in the narthex of a strip mall church- and so I believe the hours are limited on Sunday morning as services are going on.There is also a playroom to one side of the cafe for little children and their parents.
Love this place!! Great energy, great people, great food/coffee!
Wonderful little cafe. All of their proceeds go to a local school. The people who work here are very nice and friendly, the coffee was great, and the food looked great too!
Fantastic coffee shop. Dont go get terrible coffee from Dunkin or struggle to find parking at the Taylor street Starbucks. This place has excellent, locally sourced coffee, and free, easy access street parking. Great place to read, meet with people, or study
House mocha has nutella in it. Loved it!
Just stopped at Hope Cafe in Chicago,iL and Katrina the cashier makes the best Cheese toast and Ham in 47 states and she makes you feel right at home every time I just have to stop by twice aweek for her WORLD FAMOUS CHEESE TOAST SANDWICH.
Super cute spot. Could use some tunes.
Great cafe. Had a meeting here. Will definitely come back soon. All monies go to a local charity !!
Absolutely essential coffee house. Friendly baristas, fast service. Staff is very professional and friendly!
Great spot to get some work done. Beautiful historic building with free WiFi and plenty of street parking
Very quaint...nice place in the neighborhood
I loved the ambiance and warm feel very welcoming great food great service
Great coffee, nice people working and Ill be back for my regular spot
Beautiful place. Great atmosphere. Extremely nice staff.
The building is beautiful with wood floors and open brick. The sandwiches are fresh and delicious. Coffee is great and they offer a wide variety of other drinks as well. Highly reccomended.
They are really good and nice to every one that comes in its a epic places to go and relax with a coffee or tea and draw or work ^.^ love it
Like they added a breakfast meal. The french toast is yummy. Great customer service
Whos looking for a comfortable place to study, a place that has a peaceful atmosphere, quality coffee, great sandwiches and the best service you could ever imagine! A place where the staff treats you like family? A place where your money is spent benefitting the next generation?HOPE CAFE HAS YOU COVERED!Its an honor to patronize this place not only because of these things but to walk out knowing Ive partnered with people who are serving the community!Stop in and support such a great cause! Hear about the history of this beautiful building located on Chicagos West Side... AND SIP WITH PURPOSE!!
My new favorite cafe! Great space for meetings and having events. Its also a social enterprise that benefits the local Lawndale community.
Good coffee/food, great prices, and a beautiful setting with friendly staff!
I love this place and go at least once a week! Great atmosphere and I can rent the space for my events!
Not my favorite nieghborhood, but this is a really great hole-in-the-wall spot. Free parking, free wifi, friendly staff, clean restrooms. The coffee is quality and priced fairly. This place is definitely great for relaxing or working. Its a nonprofit so all the proceeds go to fund a nearby high school. Id always rather give my money to a nonprofit coffee shop than go to Starbucks--not to mention, Hope Cafes coffee is way superior. From what I understand, its been under new management since May of this year. Id strongly encourage anyone to check it out.
This place is the best! They are the nicest people!
