Great spot for coffee and cockatiels, but my favorites are their Monday pop ups (typically first Monday of each month but they also sprinkle in some others too). The pop ups are a great way to feature other local chefs and bartenders and they choose a nice mix of cuisine to feature having had BBQ and Indian so far. Excited to continue Monday visits to this spot.

I dont drink, so I look for establishments that accommodate in other ways, thought this would be one but.. Whats the point of saying you serve coffee when you clearly dont >80% of the time. Ive come 5 times now (enough to know Im not welcome). Had coffee once (was a nice lady bartender). Learned the guy bartenders always say we dont do coffee and treat me like Im dumb for asking- even though you have a big sign in front saying coffee bar. You open at 5pm, if you dont serve coffee products just change your name and signage so people stop asking!

Took advantage of their to-go drinks! The mix-and-match 4pack ($15) of craft beers is a good deal. Will have to check back when their patio opens. Seems like a great place to hang for post-work beverages

My favorite drinking establishment in Chicago. Usually go on Saturday night - Nate, Allison, Brendan are excellent bar-keeps. But only tell the cool people, I dont want anyone ruining it!

Cute and classy neighborhood joint. The few times Id venture to Albany Park Id stop in for a drink or a coffee before jumping back on the brown line right across the street.

Was in the area to visit another bar that was closed. Nighthawk was nearby and it was a good experience! Great cocktails. Service was a bit slow and it was quite stuffy inside, but staff was very friendly and accommodating. Its definitely a chill hangout spot, so it could be fun to come back during the daytime when its a coffee shop.

My friend and I came to this place on a whim and with some direction. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and was in awe of the graceful grunge of the place; the bar was pretty, the ceiling and lighting was beautiful. I would describe this place as vintage metal.The barista was very nice and helpful; she recommended a drink and even did her best to do some coffee art. It was very chill and quiet in the place. We didnt try any alcoholic drinks, but heard they were good! Prices werent too bad, but a little on the higher end, but the craftsmanship and care, was worth it.Great place for a casual date, or just to hang out, or for a small get together.

Bartender was a fake alpha who kicked us out after one drink before we could tip him. He also insulted my favorite pair of shorts.

Funky place, coffee by day, drinking hole by night. Perfect for getting some work done without being bothered. But then switch to the evening break with a brew. Right off the Kimball brown line stop, so easy to get to from anywhere.

Wonderful evening out in the patio. So clean, not crowded and the drinks were amazing. You have to try the Turning Japanese!!! The music and the vibe are perfect for a date, a GNO or just mingling.

I come here quite often as its right of the brownline, and one of the most unique things about Nighthawk is its unassuming and humble nature. Fair prices, good attitude staff (consistently), and great mixed drinks. Always glad to bring friends for a drink or two, or solo after work. Love the `commuter special`!

Best cocktails in the area at very low pricing. Im glad I dont live closer or Id be very broke and very drunk. While inexpensive, even my 260lb partner was surprisingly drunk after 2 delicious drinks.Also a great atmosphere. Fun place to hang out by yourself or with a small group. Its never been packed or obnoxiously loud the 10 or so times Ive been.Now that i think about it, its one of my favorite bars...

I havent been here for actual drink drinks, but I love the coffee and company. Its always lovely. Prices are great. The drink look great. And its never super busy. I typically order a simple latte and it goes well with a scone (if I get there early enough on the afternoon). Youll enjoy.

This place is smart - coffee in the daytime, drinks at night. Or coffee in the evening and a tipple or two in the afternoon. Why isnt everyone doing this? Nighthawk was operating without a liquor license and the patrons happily picked up the tab - so you know theyre doing something right (just get those license applications in on time, guys). Nice little bolthole at the end of the Brown Line next to the station, perfect for the weary commuter in need of morning coffee and/or post-work cocktails.

Nate is one of the best bartenders Ive ever had. Makes patrons feel like they are in the safest and most comfortable space imaginable.The bar its self is a great space, very relaxed, with soft but clean lighting. Some of the drink choices can be a little strange though.

Great local spot! We used to live across the street and miss it. Best nitrogen cold brew I have had in Chicago! The cocktails at night are wonderful too, be sure to check it out if youre in the area.

This is my local, post Thursday work spot. Sydney is always marvelous and if youre lucky to be there before noon, you get Natalie. Both ladies are glorious and youre grateful to be served by either.

$6.00 for an ice coffee, and there was literally barely any coffee In the cup as it was filled with so much ice :(

Coffee + Booze, what more can you ask for? The location is great because it is just across from the Kimball Station. The atmosphere is quiet like a coffee shop, but dark and interesting like a bar. Service was great. Its unique and really worth checking out if you are in the area.

Love the feel of this place. Fantastic coffee and service. The gentleman who served me told me the ceiling are original and they just scraped off the 6 layers of paint to find this great patina look for it. Then they took the siding off the walls to find the great brick and painted it. So say the least this will be my coffee spot every time I come out here. Possibly a bar spot too because they also serve alcohol too.

Ive only had the coffee here and its always a positive experience. Cozy, friendly, and convenient keep me coming back. Also, the sound system does seem legit. :) Id definitely like to stop in for a beer sometime.

They have some neat drink specials and the espresso is good but the bartender is often preoccupied with non-business and can be rude to customers. Try someplace else.

An unexpected spot. Great cold brew on tap. The atmosphere is down to earth and somewhat rustic, with a modern touch. During the night of my visit, I found the music selection to be rather top notch as well. Overall, a very welcoming addition to the neighborhood that I intend to indulge again!

I used to come here all the time with my partner. It’s a nice coffee/bar right around the corner from where we live. We planned on doing our wedding reception here as well. On New Years 2018, we dropped in and got hammered to ring in the New Year like everyone else in there. We left our Burberry scarf on the counter, went to pick it up the next day.No one had seen it, low and behold one of the owners was wearing it. The big guy..We we’re absolutely disgusted, never went back, and we no longer recommend this bar to anyone.

La Colombe Corsica blend was the bomb! Excited to try out more blends in the future. 5 stars for coffee, ambience was chill, cozy place, cant say much about the rest since I havent tried.

It is a completely beautiful, cozy, and a warm place to be. I love coming here when I want to have a clear head and to write. Especially when I write- this place generates words out of me in an amazing pace and rhythm. It is definitely amazing.

A truly great bar. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a smiling bar tender and a warm, cozy environment. The bar had a modern feel (TVs, great sound system, great drink selection) to it while somehow also evoking a tastefully rustic feeling. Beyond the impressive interior design, the place was kept very clean. The bathrooms were spotless and not a bit of trash was to be found anywhere on the ground. Surely great concern was placed on only hiring the kindest, most experienced servers. I never had to wait more than a minute to get a drink and they were always brought to me along with a smile. Overall this is a fantastic bar. If youre looking for a new place to visit and genuinely enjoy the experience in its entirety--go to the Nighthawk. Id recommend trying the Goatsucker as a starting drink.

Nighthawk is a great place to grab a coffee in the morning, and an even better place to grab a beer after work. Its an awesome little place with a cool staff. The mixed drinks taste great, or if your on a budget they serve the finest canned Hamms in all the land. We also really enjoy going to their free comedy night once a month!

I cant say enough about this place. First of all....... its a cafe and bar. Like... how else can it improve...I went during the day for coffee and pastries. The girl working (Im so sad i cant remember her name! She was newish, dark hair...) was sooo helpful and fun to talk to.There are cool combinations only a cafe/var can offer, like the nitro-tapped cold brew i got, or the espresso and tonic someone ordered when i was there!The pastries were good and unique (pancake and bacon muffins i think, and bacon cheese chive scones?)We went back at night for cocktails. There are tons of special cocktails that use unique flavors and ingredients were sat at the bar and it was really interesting watching the bar tender create the drinks. The staff and clientele were friendly and talkative.

Nighthawk is a great little neighborhood coffee shop / bar. In the morning they have Colombe coffee and at night they have good cocktails. Being next to a hot dog stand, Nighthawk has great picklebacks.

I am a regular and a fan of this bar! Its literally less than a minute away (minus the corner stop light) from my apartment building. I timed it while walking home one night.

A welcomed addition to Chicago and especially Albany Park. Warm inviting atmosphere where the baristas know who you are and the coffee is damn good. They pour La Columbe, and they do a mean Irish Coffee. Decent selection of beer, wine and spirits makes this a decent all around bar that covers your early morning, your late night and everything in between. Wednesday nights are Painting with Bob Ross night which is hilarious fun. It’s just nice to have a hangout spot in Albany Park where I can finally meet my neighbors.

I reccomend going to Bob Ross night hosted every other Wednesday to enjoy watching a randomly selected bar patron paint along to a Bob Ross video. Drinks are good, has both bar and booth seating.
