What a cool surprise! I was in town visiting my daughter & we walked to Stan’s Doughnuts for a snack. My daughter said while we were there, she’s got to show me the Walgreens across the street. I had no idea what I was in for! She knows I love checking out different architecture & this building did not disappoint! Walking through the front of what was a more than century old bank, they had left the turnstile door assembly in tact and you enter a vastly open, beautifully remodeled old building. Incredible attention has been taken to restore a lot of the old features of the building. The Vitamin Vault downstairs was done so cleverly and the display of a few pages of old blue prints was cool to look over as well. Leaving in the old skylight was well worth the fort as well, shedding natural light on this beautiful building. I hope to find more hidden gems like this next time I come down from Traverse City for a visit!
I don’t understand how this is consistently the slowest pharmacy I’ve ever been to.
I was there doing a door dash order and John was so welcoming and thanked me for asking him for help.
Really unpleasant staff. I was barely greeted. Then -- I accidentally hit digital receipt - immediately noticed my mistake after hitting it and asked if we could go back and I could get a paper receipt as I had to submit it in order for approval. The cashier said no there is nothing I can do for you I hadnt even PAID yet! When I asked again she was very rude and said she would not help me fix it and I should not have done it wrong in the first place. Again, at this point I still hadnt even paid. I lost out on money because my company doesnt reimburse digital receipts. Go to another place. My mistake, I should have left and not paid for anything.
Smart screens for the drink section. They have cameras built in so they can try and sell more of your info
The most dismal store out of any and all stores. Not just walgreens but of any company. I actually leave here in a worse mood each time. Customer service is non-existent. Cashiers barely acknowledge you, not even ‘next customer’ so you just have to wait while they talk to each other. But...beautiful building though i gotta admit
Cool location inside of an old bank! Extensive pharmacy section as well as various grocery and household items.
Worst Walgreens ever. They have no selection even though the place is huge. Everything they do have is security locked and you need to wait 5 min for an employee to come over. The cash is always broken and it takes 5 min to check one person out
First and foremost, Ive had many great experiences with this Walgreens. My wife, Maggie and I, are regulars there. I think the customer service representatives are great and theyve treated us with the great respect. As far as the pharmacy is concerned, pharmacist Edwin (Formally there) along with pharmacist Christina, they are without question people who take their time and actually care. They explain everything, and if youre uncertain, they clarify everything for you with a detailed and through explanation.Going here, its not like a number at a deli, where its next They actually care.Thank you everyone for all of your help and consideration.I would highly recommend this Walgreens to anyone that gets a chance to view this neighborhood, or if they need a quick snack as a visitor or tourist.Sincerely,Dimitar Jimmy Ristevski
It was so beautiful going to this Walgreens in Chicago. The building is just gorgeous I had to take some pictures. We also went to shop, the staff was so helpful and polite. We’ve got everything we came for and I found some nice makeup too. Nice place to shop!
This is such a big and beautiful Walgreens. Unfortunately it’s run so poorly that every single time I shop there something rings up wrong. Sales posted never apply. Prices are always wrong.Watch the prices and check your receipt before you leave. I just bought a $1 can of cat food that they have ringing up for $6 in the system...I had to go back and return it:
I never thought I could be impressed by a Walgreens store. Wow! This location is huge and very nice inside. Plenty of beer to choose from as well which is a great late night find. I was surprised to have been carded by the cashier but maybe its a company policy. This store truly carries a little bit of everything.
Emplyee were so tenderBest pharmacy for healthI played happily looking for my wellness to buy what i need & turns m
Terrible pharmacy. They messed up a simple prescription, then tried to blame the insurance company. I understand mistakes occasionally happen but dont lie to your customers and blame someone else for your incompetence. Will not return here again.
Everything is locked. Staff takes forever to unlock. Not convenient at all.
Dont waste your breath on using this place, the pharmacist refused to take the prescription when my doctor called. Was arguing with my doctor that the pharmacist knows better on what i need. Avoid all costs, immature, unprofessional, and down right stupid.
I went there this morning and the two people checking people out were wearing their face masks with their nose sticking out. Just so you know, employees, that renders the mask useless! The mask is for the mouth as well as the nose. Not only are you vulnerable, but so are your customers.
Most beautiful Walgreens Ive ever seen. The service seemed reasonable but even not buying anything worth it to enter to appreciate the architecture. Take the stairs down a floor for the vitamin vault - old bank vault turned into walk in vitamin section.
Great pizza. Great price. A lot of options. $9 for a slice, shot, and Tall Boy. Cant go wrong.
I had a strange encounter here a few years back. I was paying for whatever I was buying and one of the cashiers started dancing behind the registers for me. I wasnt paying attention but I heard that cashier say I just did a entire cheer for him.I wasnt paying attention to the cheering. Cant make this up. I wasnt looking for charity.
This is probably the most interesting convenience store I have ever entered, considering it resides in a former bank. The seamless combination of old and new is pleasing to behold, and some features here like the Vitamin Vault are outright awesome. My only complaint is bathroom policy at this location. Apparently, the store permanently closes its bathrooms, even to customers, past a certain hour each night, or thats the impression I got from an employee when asking about it.
Coolest Walgreens ever! Make sure you visit the vitamin vault downstairs and enjoy the selection of ready to eat food 24hrs. They also have a Chase ATM and an awesome restoration decor that is true to the former bank. I wish more and more work like this is employed in future sites.
Vitamin vault makes this location worth a visit. Smoothies, healthy snacks, fro yo and coffee bar, oh my.There is a lot of Chicago souvenirs which seems weird and there is a very limited holiday/seasonal aisle (no webbing at Halloween?!).
Cashier /operator ID # 397 who did a western union transaction on 11/01/2018 has a nasty attitude and needs additional training. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it’s not the customer’s fault! She needs to learn professionalism
This is an amazing Walgreens. A previous reviewer said who knew a Walgreens could be beautiful and I agree. From the circular automatic door at the entrance to the vitamin vault in the basement there are so many beautiful architectural aspects that are amazing to look at. And, of course, it has everything you might need in a Walgreens!
Who knew a Walgreens could be so beautiful?? Built in an old bank, many old features remain. I have bought freshly made Sushi from here numerous times and it is outstanding. The cosmetics are located upstairs and provide a great view of the store.
Disappointed with customer service and wait time for the pharmacy. Not sure if they are under staffed or just couldn’t care less about customer service, but wait times “express pick up” lines are always excessively long and the service is slow. Customer service is not friendly. I would recommend a different location for fulfilling perscriptions
Its always a hassle to make an appointment with the clinic. Dont bother walking in, you wont be seen. The Dr & nurse were chatting in the exam room & told me they were waiting for a scheduled appointment & refused to see me! Mean while about 15mins had passed & no one had showed up! I left after 25mins since it was clear the Dr didnt care to take walk ins.The online service to make an appointment is just as bad! It wont show you the whole month or even week to schedule an appointment! When I did find a time, it wouldnt except my DOB, it said it wasnt valid! So I had to call for an appointment.
Dont come here or to any corporate pharmacy if you dont have insurance. They wanted $94 for a prescription that I was able to get for $16 at a neighborhood pharmacy here on Division without insurance. They are able to open so many locations due to years of gouging customers. If I wanted to get the price lowered I would have to pay for some bs card they offer and it still would be more than double than what I got it for. Just a thought locate a local pharmacy before giving your money to some greedy corporation
What a great store, its a wonderful place to see even if you dont need to go there. The vitamin vault is so much fun. This store has everything you could want. I found all I needed and more. A great experience
I love the stores layout but the employees are beyond ghetto! I dont know who would hire them. They gossip and curse out loud, and the cashier texts on her phone and sips her loud straw in her frappe while ringing me up.
Insane! Very beautiful location. Read the other reviews and its 24 hours! They had the Reach dental floss handle that Ive been looking for. Other Walgreens only carry the dental floss refill heads. Really!? Thats like selling ammunition for guns, but no guns for sale. Bottom line. This is the Disney World of Walgreens.
Gorgeous use of the old bank. Its been a couple years but its still as busy as it was when it first opened. Great location and very good selection of stuff. I guess.. XD
I love that this store has incorporated the history of the building into the layout. Seeing some of the blueprints and historic Walgreens items in the vitamin vault is really cool!
Was buying stuff at 10pm, asked for the bathroom key since the door was locked. staff told me the bathroom closes at 9pm even though the store doesnt close until midnight. I put my products back and decided not to purchase from this store due to their bathroom policies
This will by far be the best Walgreens you will ever visit. 3 stories, spacious, intriguing decor, and a vast selection for your typical Walgreens!
Two star for the location and building. If only they can get better floor manager it could be great
Most beautiful drug store Ive ever seen!
It may be a Walgreens, but this is one of the fanciest Walgreens you will ever walk into. The building was formerly a bank, but when I moved to the neighborhood it was vacant. When Walgreens took over I was afraid the building would lose its character, but they maintained a lot of the old style - Inlaid phoenixes in the ceiling, marble floors, tons of light. They even kept the bank vault, now converted to house their Vitamins. They have the original builders plans on the walls next to the vault. The amenities at this Walgreens are better than most - they have sushi, fresh smoothies and juices as well as fairly inexpensive Fro-Yo (which is usually my primary reason to visit this location). Its nice theyve been able to preserve history while making the space usable, even if it is a Walgreens.
Probably the biggest and best Walgreens Ive ever been in. Loved the bank vibe and there was more stuff in there than in most of the grocers in my area.
Policies in here are not enforced. I as a 21 year old during a family outing went to buy a bottle of wine. Unfortunately my ID was expired, therefor i called one of my sister so that it was possible for my parents and us to drink wine. The workers were very rude, said it was policy to not let family members buy wine for you. When in reality it was for a family brunch. With that being said, Several times i have come into this store and the customer service is non-existent. Ive needed help and ive been sent the wrong way. Finally i wanted to give my opinion and rating, so i hope for some change to happen in this walgreens.
Had a great experience at the clinic. Both women working there were kind and prompt.
Love this Walgreens! Its become the center of attention in Wicker Park/Bucktown. Its great for a quick bite to eat, groceries, makeup, or a quick stop at the ATM. The vitamin vault is a must see. If youre in the area, stop by. The Bucktown Walgreens has become somewhat of a tourist attraction now.
They have sushi! and its a brilliant store. have a fun time in here
One of the best walgreens i have ever been to this place has everything i will be back
Nice even to visit as it is an adaptation over an old safe deposit bank with the reminiscent architecture and safe
Employee openly admitted that the stocking information is inaccurate.
Dont answer well customer service is HORRIBLE
Clean, beautiful building, huge selection, cool bank vault in basement.
BEST Walgreens EVER. ran out of my fave perfume today and didnt feel like venturing out to Ulta or Sephora and asked in the look boutique. ...they had my YSL Manifesto AND I got a swag bag of samples. Not at all what I was expecting.
Every employee seems equally ignorant and uninterested in working there. The manager, Rich, could use a workshop in customer relations
Its my favorite chain drugstore branch, hands down. Until I came here I didnt actually rank them, and didnt think it was a category I would rank, but this place turned that around. Its in a beautiful old bank building (so in a way its sad that a piece of Chcago history is now a Walgreens, but that happens, and they kept a lot of it). They use the vault in the basement as a vitamin vault. Its really well oganized, with sundries on the ground floor, medicine and vitamins and the pharmacy in the basement, and beauty products upstairs I think. The pharmacy is well run, isnt too busy, and the pharmacists are helpful. CVS touts its MinuteClinic, but I pick Walgreens--they do the same stuff, and then some, including travel vaccines. I walked in here and walked out with inactive typhoid coursing through my veins for the vaccine prescription price and no doctor copay. BAM! Pretty much made my day.
Very rude people! As much money as I spend at Walgreens! Need to shop somewhere else!
They tell you 20 minutes to wait and really wait more ..
This Walgreens is iconic in a beautiful old building!
They closed their bathroom because of a festival outside, so even paying customers can’t go
Confusing layout and rude employees but they have everything you might need and very convenient location so I usually suffer it anyway.
They have a bathroom downstairs since the Starbucks across the street doesnt
Nice place to shop.
Nothing special about the inventory, but the old bank setting makes you forget youre paying marked up convenience store prices
The attitude of the employees at this location is terrible they are too busy talking with each other to help any of their customers.
Huge selection of craft beer
Slowest pharmacy
Home.
Very bad attention. Not even when entering the cashiers answer the good morning. I prefer the Walgreens in Milwaikee and Wood. Excellent treatment and kindness of all the staff.
