The staff aren’t friendly at all. There used to be some workers there that were nice but they’re gone. Melina is the nice manager. There was a nice girl there Denice she helped a lot now she isn’t there. won’t return now the place is horrible.
I used to LOVE shopping here. Im not sure who started doing the pricing, but for the past couple of years its kind of ridiculous. Ive found literal dollar tree items marked $4, plain white no name t-shirts for $3-5... you can get a package of 6 on Amazon new for $12-15. I stopped by last week and saw a busted pair of rubber Birks for $20 and online new they run $30-40... and these were far from new. You might be able to get over the ridiculous overpricing IF they continued their colored tag sales... but the last few times I stopped in, there wasnt even the hanging sign anymore where they would put what colors were on sale. Its unfortunate because it is so convenient and the staff are super nice and helpful, but its like if its an emergency Ill stop in, otherwise I shop online where new items are priced lower, or go to another, more reasonably priced store.
The items are very expensive here. You would think that if they are trying to get rid of so much they would lower the price on used items. You are better off going to target. Also some of the workers and cashiers are rude. Go to village discount. Way better deals
I have been shopping here fatefully just about every Monday for the last 14/15 years because you get 50% off on this day. I also donate there whenever I can! Now it is mandatory that you have an email address and phone number to get your 50% discount. Just because Unique wants to generate a data base to sell to the highest bidder we should not lose our 50% off. Not to mention those poor people who dont have a phone or email address. This is patently unfair and I intend to contace consumers affairs about this mandatory email and phone number you have to supply for the discount! I WILL NOT SHOP AGAIN UNTIL CHANGES ARE MADE!!
I always get really good finds at this location. Clean and organized.
Clothes-heavy thrift store...had some good items but too many shoppers to get by.
They are scammers, not serious and opportunistic. They are making money by cheating on poor people.
Great place to find fun second hand treasures!
Love this place & have been going there since I was a kid - You can always count on good deals and items of good quality. I always recommend this place to anyone on a budget - Mondays are my favorite days as everything is half-off.
Donated items Very convenient to do so Staff is great
Good garments little pricey for second hand store no much brick a brack will be going back
Everything neatly placed. Good prices n I signed up for rewards!! Staff helpful and friendly. I live in south suburbs but will definitely be back!!
Quick lines and organized. Some items overpriced but they are still reasonable for a thrift shop. They used to have 3 colored tags discounted at different amounts but today was only 1, not sure if something new. I would suggest they ask customers to keep their children with them instead of running around or playing with the toys while they shop, especially during this pandemic.
I enjoy Coming here But the other 2 up North are more in sync with their pricing this one on the South side always Jack up the price of the products thats my only problem with them They need to have a certain pricing guide for their items There is also no need for a supervisor she cant help you with anything So there is no point of asking her for assistance
Its very expensive for a second hand store. Some items are not even in a good condition and they have a high price.
Busy as usual on 1/2 price Monday
The Manager Dejuan, and his staff are always so personable courteous and polite.. So they make shopping their a pleasure
Really good prices and good stuff
Its a very well-organised, clean place with a great variety of good condition items.
Trina and Kelly are complete creeps. Rude and disrespectful. Avoid at all costs.
I really dont understand the complaintsIve lived in the area since I was about 6The prices are pretty reasonable on things I find and the staff has always been super kind to me and helpful. Last I checked they werent open due to pandemic but Im stopping by today to see if a reopening has happened yet.
Very clean and well organized. Things are decently priced.
Horrible. No one was friendly. Prices very high
This place gets great stuff, but its always considerably overpriced.
Clean and tidy place but apparently no public bathroom. I went with kids and a bathroom is needed !!! Won’t shop at this store 🤦🏻♀️
Very clean and well organized. The employees were all great as well.
Employees are polite and helpful. Mondays the best day to shop there.
Hit or miss for trinkets. Good for clothes. I can always find a shirt or belt here.
I love this place but some of the workers need some customers service training majority of the workers are really nice.
A fine place to acquire gently used merchandise.
I just moved into the area and from the reviews I was nervous about shopping here but I went anyway because I’m on a budget. The staff was genuinely friendly and the place was a little over stocked but it’s a thrift store and holiday season so of course a lot of people are donating.I bought a fur winter coat, a few accessories, some sweater, some plaid shirts, and some pants all for a lil over $100.My experience was fair and will be returning.
Store has decent up to date items but some of the prices are high for being a thrift store. I looked at items that can be purchased new at the same prices. Other than that I do like the quality of the items in this store.
So, I concur with regards to the poor customer service. I got to the checkout with approximately 20 items and the cashier says We have no BAGS. SO that was quite a revelation, As I was thinking how do you expect me to take out all of these items to my car. So I asked can I use one of the shopping carts and the cashier replied No. So I just did not purchase those 20 items. What has happened to GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
This was my go to thrift shop for clothing, household items, and knickknacks. But, now the prices are outrageous,(even prior to the pandemic and stay in place), and the selection is not great. If you go on half off day now,(Mondays), you might end up waiting in line for a minimum of 30 minutes or more. I didn’t wait because the line didn’t seem to be moving. At this rate I can’t see them staying in business much longer.
Some good items are there sometimes, but over price.
Ive always had a great experience with them especially on Mondays prices are half off
Great place, nice people. Support Unique by donating!
Out of all the Unique stores, this is the highest price. All the stores have different color tags..this is the only one that seems to swap out the sale tags..before the sale. The 5.99 pant anywhere else, will be $10.99 at this place.I did find an Amazon fire tablet..the early color model..for $19.99, which is a fair price.
Ive been thrifting my entire life and can definitely say this place is a waste of time. I never write reviews but this place is very much overpriced. $40 for a glass bowl? $4 for a bath towel? $8 for a tank top? You might as well buy new at Target because youll spend the same amount of money. The selection is not great and definitely not worth the money theyre asking.
I go on half price Mondays, Im usually able to find great deals at half price. The quality of my purchases have been fantastic. Check out is fast, and the associates are always helpful. I highly recommended this business.
Luv this store got me a pair of jogging pants brand new
Horrible layout! No one wants to fight the racks to see the clothes. Its too congested and not user friendly for people with mobility issues. PLUS, the prices are OUTRAGEOUS! This store is going to price themselves out of business.
I not being here in 3 years first time 😗
I love unique. I always find deals there. I go tp the pne on Halsted . Great Place
Finest chain of thrift stores in Chicago. Go on Mondays and go early as possible. Everything is half off on Mondays. They have any kind of clothing you are looking for. Great selection of books. Nearly my entire wardrobe is from Unique. A+
Unique Thrift Store unique because of its absurdly high prices. Go to Goodwill. They for the most part have better prices and more turnover. I go to Unique because, despite the prices you might find something unique and a good deal. It does not happen often.
Don;t go here, after spending over an hour at this location the staff had taken my cart while I was trying on clothes in the changing room and almost all of my items had been placed back on the clothing racks. I didnt end up buying anything here, save your money and time please!
Great place to come up @ times. From cloths to furniture. Ive purchased plenty of gear @ this location and a nice sofa that I kept around for 5yrs.
Personnel was friendly & there was lots of everything in the store. An associate named Lisa patiently showed me several items in a showcase. The cashier was very cordial. Overall it was a wonderful outing for a rainy Saturday morning. I found a small (quarter sz), purple, wooden, six string guitar, thats actually playable...for $4.00. Such-a-deal...Such a place! I first read the reviews of this store and expected a small thrift store. Then I walked in and my first impression was of a Salvation Army - the layout is very similar. But after browsing, I realized the merchandise and options were far superior. I found several pieces of art and picture frames for very cheap. I found multiple kitchen appliances and goods (mugs, pans, etc) for cheap. And I didnt buy any clothes this time, but the options were good!
Ive shopped and visited several Unique Thrift Stores and this one is by far the most neatest with the best selection of items. Displays are also in order and easy to find in titled sections. No mixture of items, each shelf has its similar group of items. Although pricing is the highest and sometimes you can find an item cheaper in the a store, brand new. Workers do tend to hide away the sales price items. For example, if the 50% is on purples and blues then there will be nothing but green and yellow ticket colored. Yet the next day when its 50% off greens and yellows then theres nothing but purples and blues. They are sneaky but I still find good stuff for cheap. 5 STARS on neatness and selection variety. 3 STARS on pricing.
I found some great toys and books for some affordable prices! It was clean, everything in order and the staff as helpful and nice! I will definitely be back soon! 😉
One of my favorite thrift stores in the U.S. The clothes are ACTUALLY organized by size. Only occasionally will there be an incorrect tag. The sales are great! If you can go on Mondays, its 50% off! Theres a Senior discount day as well.
Used to frequent this store but I won’t be coming back. The morning shift manager makes her own rules separate from other locations and return policy. I have contacted corporate and I will be avoiding this store. Like others have stated there is no fitting room. The selection is hit or miss and sometimes overpriced. They recently added double racks to the store which makes shopping the isles almost impossible at times on busy days.
Majority of staff are rude! I stood by counter waiting to see an item for 5 min while an employee stocked their shelves.... she looked at me and never said a word. Another time I was hit with their large rolling carts! A buying cant comfortably move around and browse because employees are ALWAYS moving around with their carts! Not an enjoyably place to shop.
Not as big as Savers stores near my house, but they have good prices and reward pts. They DONT have fitting rooms.
I love shopping at uniques thrift stores theres so many gems you can find if you take your time. They have a great selection of Family Clothing toys shoes sheets and towels coats just anything you would probably need fake at you at Great low prices. Dont forget about half off Mondays.
There are no fitting rooms and at least a quarter of the clothes are mislabeled and/or missing the original size tags, so be prepared for that. All sales are final, so you better have a good idea of your size and fit from sight alone.
My first time back since Covid 19 area. I went there for specific purchases.
Staff is extremely rude, no dressing rooms, bad prices, terrible lay out. Over all horrible experience. Worst of these chain Ive ever been to. So disappointing.
This store is ultimately a hit or miss as far as your shopping experience is concerned. They have a very good selection, but that in itself can still be a bit pricey. As far as an opinion about that staff, they could use a lesson in professional etiquette. If theyre not arguing about something completely unrelated to work, when called to open another lane to speed up the checkout process, they take their sweet time. Some days its great, some days its bad, at the end of the day, its a hit or miss.
Good price
I am always on the hunt for well made clothes and designer brands. Unique never fails me. Ive been a customer for over a decade.
This place is amazing: organized, clean, and lots to choose from!
The staff is so very rude it is one staff with blue hair omg she is so very nice the manager attitudes are off the chain rude dont know how to talk to people.
Great second hand store, but on the expensive side. Mondays are half price and then it is a great deal! Tuesdays, over 55 is 30% off.
This Unique location is okay for finding some good items. I find a good amount of disney items here. The prices are decent but the furniture is high priced
Good selection of mens pants. Some childrens shoes, but lots of adult shoes. No dressing room here to try on the clothes and no bathroom either.
Great thriftin at this store! It is organized, clean, excellent selection of goods and the staff is super helpful and friendly. This particular Unique has got to be the best one around.
Cool thrift store clean and organized. If you have time to search can find some nice deals.
Mostly clothes, linens and shoes. Not really a good selection of other stuff like there used to be. Books are WAY OVERPRICED. Half price for a used 20yr old book is ridiculous. They think they are a fancy resale shop not the Thrift store they are.
Decent selection, but prices have increased recently - some items are a steal (especially on sale days), but many are just meh for the price, if not almost ridiculous for second hand. Half off Mondays produce the parking lot from hell! Still enjoy looking around in here, and have found quite a few gems for cheap!
Found some good books. Clothes kind of high for a thrift store though
A weird scent hovers inside. The mens clothing is standard and not much high end items. Staff has high turnover so cash register person awfully slow. Electronic section very disorderly. Child clothing has some good finds.. parking pretty bad on free parking lot. MONDAYS is discount day you will see a line to enter due to everyone fearing covid.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES..YOU CAN FIND ALMOST ANYTHING THERE PRICES ARE REASONABLE WORKERS ARE FRIENDLY TRINA THE MANAGER IS AWESOME...MONDAY ARE HALF PRICE DAYS ...
Unique is great second hand store. Real nice.
They have everything and the staff is tops and they have excellent prices...
Good place to shop but some clothing and accessories are unusually high. I only shop once every blue moon here.
Ive been to this location a handful of times, if you go on Mondays I suggest having a lot of patience in the parking lot! If possible park on street and walk up to location or use public trans. It is very crowded and there are a lot of impatient drivers who love to honk and others who double park in this already small lot for such a busy shopping plaza. It also gets very crowded, meaning long lines at check out and the employees cannot keep the store organized. The older lady behind the valuables counter also has a bit of an attitude when delivering service. Any other day of the week it isnt as bad in terms of the crowds, parking, etc but prices are pretty high. Hence why half priced Mondays are a mad house!
Some good finds here. A little overpriced, but better organized then it used to be. Bring your own bag!
Nice stuffs at reasonable price. D cashier was amazing.
Amazing thrift store. This was legit my best thrifting experience. I went with a friend on their weekly 50% day (Monday) and found more than I needed lolz. Its definitely my new go-to Thrift store.
Great selectiona and very well stocked. And its open later on Sundays than the Village Discount beside it. Also organized and the staff is friendly. Also there is a dressing room .
Always find what Im looking for. just eish their prices were as good as they used to be. go ona monday! Everything is half price then. :)
Unique is honestly one of the best thrift stores Ive ever been to. Before I relied on Goodwill for my thrifting needs, but after the nearest location to me was shut down, it was put to a halt. My was searching around on the internet a couple years ago and found this store called Unique. Weve been going there to do a majority of our clothes shopping ever since. The selection is great, and the store stays relatively clean and organized. You can also find a good amount of vintage music there too.
Best thrift store in Chicago! I have been coming here on Mondays (50 percent off day) since I was a kid.
This is one of my favorite thrift stores in Chicago. Its tucked away in a strip mall and has lots of great selections and very friendly staff.
Love this place. managers are very nice
I Love this store . I always find good stuff koo c.f.
On a scale of 1-10 Ill give it an 8. The store is great. Parking is not so good.
Good place to buy use things and good condition.
Its my local thrift, it doesnt have the best selection . Mondays are the time to go as almost everything is half off. Every now and ag again I find something truly one of a kind
Second hand store with prices of a real high end department store
Good place to buy books, they have the real good bargains.
This place is clean and well lit with free parking all wonderful, I will not be back because the items for sale were a bit overpriced and my cashier was rude
Lucy is the best shes always helped us atMAPX1 Towing & Recovery Inc
Nice store & friendly staff. Great prices & selection.
Very busy on Mondays but the staff are helpful and nice. I love getting books here.
Pretty cool place plus things were half off
Bad parking. Bad stocking. Extremely high prices compared to other thrift stores let alone Savers and Unique. A couple of really mean floor retail clerksm
