The guys at U-Haul moving and storage on Country Drive in Chico did me right. They helped me through a catastrophic failed with my own trailer. I was up the creek without a canoe ! They save me from major problems by helping load my own trailer ( loaded) into a u-haul trailer and I was back on the road. It saved me from costly away from home repairs and overnight delay. I cant say enough.Thank you you saved my butt !!!

Julia at the chico Uhaul was nice and so helpful, I had an issue I was worried about and she took care of it, answered all my questions, if you gotta rent a truck this is the place, clean equipment and ask for Julia 😁 so thankful

Absolutely terrible. Reserved truck for 10 the day before. Had confirmation number. After waiting one hour at the uhaul, they told us they had no record of our reservation. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Terrible service and terrible staff. Don’t even try to call their 800 number cuz they would never pick up and if they would they will put you on hold for an other half an hour and you will be stuck in the middle of the road with the broken truck. Tried them few times similar results.

Outstanding customer service. I did not get their names but a young blond woman and a young man of middle eastern descent helped me with a trailer rental for July 31st to August first. This is probably their busiest weekend. They were friendly and incredibly hard working. I will definitely be back. Thanks!

The lady that answered could not answer one question then when I asked her if she was a u-Haul dealer she hung up after I waited for about 20 min on phone I couldn’t hear her and she was snide 🤨 not a good way to do business holy cow!

Absolutely do not use Chico U-haul. I reserved a 6x12 trailer about a month in advance, just to find out 2 days before the scheduled pickup that they dont have one, and the closest one is a 3 hour round trip away. They will not compensate for any time off or fuel we are going to have to use to go pick it up. This is just wrong.

Great place to stop for a rest while on your travels. Ask to see the cleaning cart or the air fill hose while you wait, super fun times. Pulled my kids out of school so we could go 2 days in a row. #winningatparenting

DO NOT RENT FROM UHAUL CHICO if you require a firm date, time, and place reservation. U-Haul just called me at 5:30pm the day before my next-day 8am pickup of a confirmed 26 truck reservation for a cross-country move to tell me that my truck would be available tomorrow for pickup 5 HOURS/254 MILES away in Eureka, CA. Imagine having your life overturned--an already scheduled move-out, drive halfway across the country, hotel reservations, appointments to complete a home purchase, and move-in. Its costing me an additional $1200 more to rent from an alternative company at the last minute to hold to schedule & not have our lives turned upside down for the next 2 weeks.

Excellent service and efficient process. Drop off was no-hassle and everyone was reasonable, friendly and professional. Get there early and if there is a line be prepared to wait. They take their time with each customer which is appreciated. They also didnt hesitate to use the staff on hand to process through the line even though the three desk positions are each dedicated to different types of transactions. Their focus on customer service is evident.

My daughter rented a truck from Chico Uhaul this past weekend so that she could move. While we were standing in line waiting to be helped the customer in front of us and the older man behind the counter started laughing at and making fun of us because we were wearing masks. I have an elderly immuno compromised mother and havent been able to see her in over 3 months. So we do our part in maybe having this shelter in place come to an end sooner. If we had been able to find another rental place we would have left. But we were stuck with no options. When he was done with that customer he asked if he could help us but we told him we would wait for for someone else to help us. Someone who was more respectful. The young man who helped us very nice although he wasnt wearing a mask either. No one in the store was! Needless to say if this is how uhaul treats their customers, I will never come back.

Didnt actually have the truck I reserved- had to make due with smaller since they said the truck I reserved was broke. Very frustrating. Will not bother with online registering again. Actually, will probably just use someone else...

All of the guys here were super helpful, but Dan in particular. We had an issue with our car that prevented us from getting our trailer without having a dealership install a part. Dan was helpful changing our reservation, allowing our friend to collect the trailer to get it loaded and get us out of town on schedule. It could have been a lot worse and cost us another day. We have used several Uhauls in Chico over the years as our son was a student there, and this was our best experience yet.

Not only did no one offer any assistance, but Andrei, one of the sales persons, was extremely rude to me! I do not recommend this location!

My mom passed away in Oroville and had a storage @ Chico Uhaul. She was a horder with lots of junk. I rented a 10 truck that I had to keep for 3 days. On the 3rd day I knew I was gonna go over time and called the uhaul and was told as long as u bring it back by this evening, we wont charge u overtime. Not only did they charge me for another FULL day, they charged me $69/day + $15 in fuel.I didnt know any of this until I checked my bank statement. They never called me.I called cust. svc. Who was to have the Mgr call me..they never did.So no more uhaul.

I have rented trucks from them several times and Ive always had a great experience. Their store had plenty of boxes and other moving supplies that I needed. The employees are reasonable and treat their customers well.

Take a picture of the fuel gauge for good practice/measure.Just paid too much for the initial gas I didnt use because it was read as full when it was under the full line.

Rented a U-Haul truck from this location and we had a TERRIBLE experience. Upon picking up our rental we were very rudely helped with our reservation, he REFUSED to give me the “family discount” and Refused to answer ANY questions I had pertaining to it and said, “we don’t deal with any of that” in a VERY rude manner. Secondly, like I stated he was very unprofessional and rude to us, tossed my fiancé’s ID back at him, even though my fiancé is the one who paid for it and he was just trying to give him two forms of identification. Along with that, I tried asking general questions about the reservation and asked how to add drovers ect to which he replied, “it’s not our fault if you crash the truck.” Which again, I understand it’s our own liability but to use such words was very uncalled for. This man was extremely rude and unprofessional. This was our first time renting from U-Haul and it will be our last. I filed a complaint already but just wanted to warn others. This location was beyond terrible; and although there was nothing wrong with our truck we were still not given the discount we were entitled too and we were treated like garbage. Would not return here, very very disappointed and upset that we were charged the entire amount instead of being able to use our discount.

Good luck on phone, you will never get them. Only the call center and the guys never return the call. Time for loading and unloading 9:00a.m. to 5:00pm. The mobile dock is steep (located behind the building), tough to get things out of your trailer unless its only pallets or their uboxes. They are fast though. Parking along the street for around 3 trucks. You got groceries store, Starbucks, ice cream parlor, and fast food chains across the freeway 1 mile go take a 15 mins walk.

I just called and spoke to the most helpful guy. I had a few questions, he answered them, helped reassure me about my concerns, and made me feel confident that I chose the right company and location for renting a truck. Good job!

Uhaul is incompetent and unorganized. We received confirmation that our RESERVED truck would be available for pick up any time after 9:30, when we arrived at 11, they had no trucks in our size, nor did they offer any other option to make up for their incompetance. The staff is rude and does not care what so ever. They had the nerve to tell us we would need yo drive all the way to Yuba City for a truck that they GARUNTEED would be in Chico. Absolutely horrible business practices.

This review is not so much a reflection of Uhaul of Chico, as much as it is a direct condemnation of Uhaul Corporate policy, and the language they use to deceive customers.If a customer wishes to reserve a vehicle or trailer on the Corporate website, said customer is prompted to put in a pick up location and dates. After the program does a search it may happily report back that yes, Uhaul has that vehicle or trailer, prompts the customer to continue, etc.Shortly after the customer receives an email saying your order is confirmed.Little does Customer realize confirmed in Uhauls Corporate mind does not mean confirmed, in the Merriam Webster meaning of the term.In fact all it means is that if things go well, the customer might only need to drive an extra hour or two out of his or her busy way to pick up the confirmed vehicle/trailer.A very deceptive website, sorry Uhaul team, after this Ill never trust a word you say. Zero stars.

Wow worse than calling the DMV been on hold for over 30 min, you would think it would be simple but no, worst experience this year

The service was terrific, but the box quality has fallen WAY off. We have uhaul boxes that we used back in 1993 that are STILL in good enough condition to use, but so many of the boxes bought this month are already useless and we havent even finished moving yet!!

Its was cheap and easy but when it comes down to getting my deposit back I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN IT BACK!!!! They told me to call coop. That they will send me a check. Well I called the cooperate office and they told me it could take up to 3 weeks. Its been a month still no check cooperate. Its bs Thank you.

Rented a truck to move this weekend. The truck mileage and contract mileage didnt match, say I already drove 100+ milea before leaving the lot. They got me a different truck to right the situation. Upon return they were understanding that in packing the truck we accidently broke the little zip tie that held the hand truck even though it hadnt been used. He didnt charge me for it thankfully.

Pushed the installation date back without my permission or letting me know whats happening. After getting the hitch installed, the power lift gate didnt work. So, they messed up on the wiring pretty hard...

One guy took the time to help me figure out which fuse was blown and affecting my trailer light. Good experience overall, nice guys.

Ordered a hitch from the local U-HAUL, sent by mail, they sent the wrong part, and told us we had to ship it back ourselves. They didnt seen to know, or care about finding a solution for us. They just went back and forth saying it was the right part, but somehow at the same time it was the wrong part number in their system. Told us to call corporate. Very displeased with helping those who dont know what to do guess they didnt either.

This location doesnt make sure to clean the equipment or even service mechanical problems. Worst Uhaul location i have ever had the displeasure of doing business with.The truck we where given to make 2 state move with was filthy had soda all over the cab and trash in it and had front wheel seals that where leaking so bad the truck should have been taken out of service. We will be calling Ca. DOT NEXT.

These guys always take care of things fast. If you have last minute plans, chances are you can get a truck right away with little to no hassle.

Workers seemed to be in a hurry, but so were we, so all the necessary paperwork and how tos quickly being done with was rather welcome. Still, a bit strange with their hello-goodbye approach.

Horrible service, installation date got ruined. Then ruined my car. Cut wires to my trunk and it wont function anymore. Dont rent from u-haul, they have a horrible insurance company that never gets back to you.

These. Folks were so. Nice and helpfull. They didnt give me a hard time when i had to Chang my truck size. Or when i had to keep it an extra day or when i wa a bit late bringing it back. They all had smiles and were. Very helpfull. Thaks guys. 5 stars from me.
