I stopped by this location in hopes of purchasing a car. Josh my salesman was great. Very friendly and informative and he listened. The first salesman I have come in contact with that was. It pushy I was approved to purchase a Camry, but before I signed the paperwork I wanted to do a look over and go over things I hoped they could fix/clean. I noticed a piece of one of the tires hanging off. It was significant enough for me to question the safety not only because I use the car but i also have 3 kids who would be riding in this vehicle. I brought up my concerns to Josh and Joe(the manager) Joe continues to tell me it was cosmetic and it had passed safety inspection and if anything happened I would have insurance to cover the tire and also mentioned that the car was not brand new so of course there will be flaws or it won’t be perfect. Fast forward almost 2 weeks and I get a call from Josh asking if I was still in the market for a car because they got the approval to replace not only the tire I questioned, but get this… ALL 4 TIRES! Why would a car that passed safety inspection need all 4 tires replaced?! My advice, always go with your gut instinct! I ended up going to Avis in Tampa where their manager treated concerns I had with respect instead of making me feel like my concerns were not valid.
I purchased a used Mini Van from the team at Hertz. After the purchase, I noticed there was an issue with the battery and one of the clips holding down the seats was broken.I called Joe Winter (one of the managers) and he helped me take care of it, with no out of pocket expense for me.The buying process was incredibly easy. I wanted to get my wifes approval before purchasing, and they let me take it home as part of the test drive. I called them on my way back and told them I wanted it, by the time I was back they had all the paperwork ready to go. It was a quick and painless process.Would happily do it again!Thanks Joe & Team!

Hertz is going through bankruptcy and is selling several hundred thousand used rental vehicles. They have a large inventory of one or two year old vehicles to choose from. They offer no haggle fixed pricing and a twelve month powertrain warranty. We noticed the vehicles had a sticker sealing the door with a detailed/cleaned notice. There was absolutely no pressure and we got what we came for without all the hassle. The only negative was a $800 Dealer Prep Fee that appeared on the final invoice. We had a vehicle die over the weekend and we were in a predicament. I usually would have spent several weeks visiting several dealerships and test driving at least ten or so vehicles. We didnt have the time to do that. Because the fixed pricing was at a competitive price and the particular vehicle we bought was still under OEM warranty bumper to bumper on top of the Hertz powertrain warranty, I felt this was a reasonable risk, especially compared to the typical used car dealerships. With the Hertz bankruptcy and coronavirus and everything going on these Hertz dealers are slammed busy trying to sell a lot of cars. The communication may not be the best, but if you are patient you can get an incredible deal here. I called about a Yukon XL and went to look at it the same day and bought it the next day. The salesman Tony did a fantastic job with everything. We were in and out quickly with a great deal on the new car, and got a more than fair value for our trade-in and a better interest rate than we could get directly through our bank. This was the best car buying experience Ive ever had, by far!
Take a long, hard look at everything before you purchase. I bought a lemon that could have killed me on the 1200 mile drive home.

We recently purchased a cargo van for our Business from this specific location. We already knew what we wanted, texted them confirming its availability to help expedite the process upon arrival. We also were paying cash (no financing needed) so in essence, we should not have spent too much time here playing the waiting game. It was not a busy day at all. We test drove immediately and were ready to proceed. We waited for the Sales rep team to pull together all paper work. We managed to have enough time to complete all new insurance additions and were still waiting another hour to be attended to. I had to get up to go see them taking a smoke break. 5:00 PM hit and we were still waiting. All banks were closed at this point. The company could not verify our check. All that time wasted and we could have addressed this upon arrival at 3:15 PM. At this point, we were advised it can be delivered to us for $99 delivery fee. We said No as it is not our fault for the delays. The manager was very rude and argumentative. Not taking ownership and was very very arrogant. We were about to walk out and take our business elsewhere. Had it not been for Oliver (Ollie) who spoke up and saved the day, we would have walked out. He took care of it and brought us the vehicle the following day as promised. We were going to give this location 1 start but Ollie brought it up to 2 stars.Please note, you will only be provided 1 key from this location (and you are lucky if that ONE key works). They recommend a third party to get a copy cut for a cheaper price but guess what, that third party cannot copy the key we need so we will have to go to the dealership and pay $300+ to have another key on hand.In summary, yes the van was in great condition (we had our personal mechanic inspect). Minor cosmetic flaws. The customer service, however, almost made us walk away. Good luck with buying a car from this location
This is likely the worst dealership in the area. I traded in 2 vehicles and purchased a new vehicle from them on 6/6/2020. I transferred a tag to the new vehicle but their system was down so they gave me a temp tag and promised to mail my new registration the following week. Even after making numerous calls to the dealership, my registration did not show up within 30 days so my temp tag was expired and I could not drive the car I just purchased. The manger told me that “he can’t tell me that it’s OK to drive on an expired tag, but cops are looking past things like that due to COVID”. To make things worse, It has been almost TWO FULL MONTHS since I traded in my vehicles, and one of them still hasn’t been paid off. I call them over and over and all they tell me is that there is nothing that they can do. I have never experienced anything like this and cannot believe that this is acceptable within their organization. If your looking for a good deal, I would advise you to stick with a reputable dealer in the area regardless of the deal you think you are getting from Hertz.
Unbeatable prices.. Great finance manager.. Bought Two 2018 Chevy Equinoxs.. No ones prices even came close.. Approx 4-5k under blue book and all dealers in the Tampa Bay area. Im very happy with my experience at Hertz. Salesman Mike Mancini made it the least painful car buying experience Ive been a part of. It took about 2 hours for the whole transaction. No pressure to buy, and helped us make an educated decision. They were able to match my credit unions loan rate with an associated lender, which I was very happy with.On top of the buying experience, they replaced my battery when it failed a month later when they had no obligation to do so. I will never buy a car there again. I was given a rate of 3.4 percent. I bought a extended warranty. I told.sales person Carl who I really liked that I wanted to keep payments as low as possible. Because Hertz warranty over lapped with after market warranty I told Carl I would buy extended warranty at later date. He said Jose will draw up new Contract Went it to see Jose F & I guy . He jacked up my interest rate from 3.4 to 4.7 % 500.00 more in interest,because a canceled extended warranty Policy. I am a senior living on fixed income. Finance man Jose is a crook I will never deal with Hertz finance, Sales Manager at Hertz before I went into office said if you are going in to see Jose in F &I, you will need this and held up a hammer. Well he was right, bad experience. good luck!!!
Been a few months since i purchased my Mustang from them. Zero complaints. Carl and Greg were the best. They made it feel like they were my big brothers. We worked a deal out on a Sunday evening lol. Greg was super fun doing the paperwork with. They are 100% straight forward with you. Every promise made was kept. If you are in the market for a car hit them up. Saw some poor reviews online, but stopped by anyway as there was a car we wanted to look at that was priced right in our budget. We met with Jesse who was extremely helpful and went the extra mile to help us get exactly what we were looking for. Gregg, the manager was also extremely helpful. I am happy I did not listen to the couple bad reviews(there are also many good reviews), they are fantastic at Hertz Car Sales Clearwater and have some really nicely priced cars in terrific condition. They are also not as pushy and salesy as some of the other dealers we visited, I highly recommend them, ask for Jesse.

Yes these are rental cars and most will have minors scratches and dings but that’s why the prices are so competitive. I like how they give you a 12 mo./12,000 limited power train warranty. Both Oliver and Mike were professional and personable, they stayed late and went the extra mile for us. Unfortunately the vehicle didn’t work out. They didn’t have another one in our price range, but I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a car from them.
Our salesman was polite and congenial. The test drive and time spent considering the car was without pressure and pleasant. When we discussed numbers, the trade in value was below what we wanted - that happens and it wasnt a big deal. We politely declined and said that wouldnt work for us. Our salesman asked what we were looking for. When we answered his question, the finance manager injected himself into the conversation from across the show room to loudly tell us thats what they sell for. I disagreed and was astounded to have him immediately become combative and insulting. Comments like, I guess the internet told you that and it doesnt lie - I must be wrong. have no place in a professional business. As stated in person, they will never gain my business with that kind of attitude. To any potential buyer, there are much better places to purchase a car where you can be assured of professional and courtesy treatment. My advice: look elsewhere.

First of all would like to say we were over sold on a infinity QX60 being told it had navigation. Then we told them of this issue and they gave us a gps that didn’t work. We are a family of 4 from Wisconsin so we really needed gps. We told the service counter of our issues and they did not give us any money off our rental. I would not recommend to anyone from out of town.
They only had vans available. Communication was lacking but could have been insurance companies fault. The people working were great but overall not excited about choices

I worked with Frank to buy my car here. Wasnt hassled or pushed in any way. They are laid back and let you move at your own pace. Pricing on their cars is fair, and they have a reasonable dealer fee compared to others in the area. I was told the cars are used as rentals up until the time they are sold, so the car was a little dirty when I looked at it. They detail it if you buy it, and did a great job of it in my case! Would recommend.
Do not purchase a vehicle from these crooks! You’ve been warned! Sold me a car for my teenage daughter, that they had just repaired the dented roof on and after barely driving it and keeping it in the garage, the new headliner is ruined with water stains. The old headliner had to be replaced b/c it looked as if they used Brillo pad on it an attempt to cover the original water stains up....probable a $400 repair at the most but they absolutely refuse to do the right thing. Every chance I get....paybacks are a mother. 😉😜👍🏼😂
One of the largest inventories in the area. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Only three stars because all the cars that we really liked had very noticeable dents or scratches. Had to go to Tampa location for better condition cars.
Called ahead to the one in Clearwater to see if they had the vehicle i was interested in. I was told they had two for me to see. Drive 40 minutes to be told that they were not on the lot and could not be seen to later in the week. That does me no good since not only do I live 40 minutes away but I also work full time.Would avoid this place.

Hertz owes me a refund of about $700.00, the difference between quoted price and final price due to some discount and my opting to transfer my tag instead purchasing a new one. It is now more than 30 days; no check was mailed to me or credited to o my credit union loan account.Edited: 20200129.Hertz finally mailed the check to my credit union. This issue is now resolved.
I had such a great experience with, Hertz Carsales of Clearwater. Probably the best one I have had at a dealership or car shopping. They were all so professional, lovely and not pushy. I had Oliver who was so inviting and funny. He made my sister and I feel very comfortable with deciding on which vehicle was best fitting for me. Gregg also was fantastic when it came to signing all the paperwork and I am incredibly thankful for him with answering all my sister and I’s questions and concerns. This place sold a car with known issues, cleared computer. Car was sold as certified, no accidents. Car was inspected, has been repaired multiple times. The manufacturer will not fufil leftover power train warranty. Exciting experience. Even had credit ran 3 diff times. Thanks I work hard to maintain mid 700 score.
Took three days to close on a car. I have good credit in the 700s but had a couple thousand of negative equity. My car only came with one of the two keys it was suppose to and had tape on it. Fast forward a couple months the key falls apart and now I have to spend $300 for a basic key on a basic car. These guys are terrible wouldnt recommend them.
Salesperson was helpful. The atmosphere/environment of the dealership seemed like it was put together very fast and without planning in regards to the opinion of a potential car buyer walking in for the first time. Be prepared for a significant amount of we dont do this..., we dont do that... type of responses which make the car buying process cumbersome and prolonged. The vehicle I was interested in had some blazingly obvious items that should have been fixed prior to the vehicle being put on the lot. They use Pep Boys to service their cars fleet vehicles and vehicles for sale. I have never had a Hertz rental car break down so Pep Boys must do a good job for Hertz. If Pep Boys inspected the vehicle I was going to purchase, the inspection wasnt very thorough. I would bring someone knowledgeable about cars with you to check the condition of the vehicle you are interested in. I may visit this dealership in the future, I always like to give places at least three opportunities. The vehicle I had prior to purchasing another one was a former Hertz rental car and I had *no* issues with my former car.

I bought my daughters car here... the experience was pretty good. Its a used car dealer and is a big company store with a small feel. I bought the car in Feb... yesterday the battery cable broke corroded from a bad battery terminal. Dealership needed over $400 to repair it... the extended warranty doesnt cover batteries :(.... However when I told manager Sydney about it, he graciously said he would take care of it. I didnt expect him to be so understanding and quickly offer to sort it out.... over 5 months after my purchase. Stand-up guy.
I didnt buy a car there because I wanted a better model... However Bobby was extremely helpful, spent alot of time with me and went above and beyond with trying me to find a vehicle at other locations. This all happened after he knew I was not purchasing a vehicle from them which shows alot. They are not pushy here and seem very honest. Love the no haggle concept. Beat any dealers pricing if you can get over that it was a rental car. Theyre well maintained but do a full inspection for scratches, mats, fuel caps etc.

My review is relative to CORPORATE sales tactics; NOT this particular location. Disabled Grandma on SSDI searching for a reliable vehicle where I can haul four young grandhildren.Found a Hyundai 2015 Accent GS Hatchback at a reasonable price. I go to look at the vehicle just about 5 days later; only to find that CORPORATE had raised the price by $300.Most businesses will DISCOUNT products as the holiday season commences. NOT HERTZ!HERTZ will jack up the price when they find someone has an interest in purchasing any particular vehicle.Just SO sad they would take advantage during these difficult times. I wasnt planning on having to purchase a vehicle. Need to replace mine that was taken without permission; then totalled loss head on collision the day after Thanksgiving.Now I am at a loss as to obtaining a replacement vehicle. Unable to walk more than 100 feet, closest bus stops are 1/2 mile with NO place to sit.To HERTZ CORPORATE:MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.And may your trees all have BLIGHT!

Having worked in dealerships for a large portion of my adult life, I had vowed not to buy from a dealership as I didn’t want the headache that was almost guaranteed. After reading some positive reviews, I decided to give Hertz a try. I ended up with a beautiful car for private party price thanks to Jesse Loreto and Mike. If you like to haggle and feel like you got one over, this is not the place for you. But if you want a smooth experience with friendly, helpful, non-pushy associates, this is definitely a place to consider. Yes, many of these vehicles have cosmetic blemishes. Most people who rent are driving in unfamiliar places and the cars aren’t going to be garaged nightly and that should be taken into consideration. The prices reflect that and most blemishes are an easy fix. We visited Hertz on 3 occasions prior to coming to make the final purchase and these visits were worth the hour long drive from home. Each visit was low-stress. I took advantage of the 3-day test drive and was pleased with the smooth ride. I also had my own mechanic check it out for potential issues; there were no problems. (Although I was pleased to find out that the Clearwater Pep Boys is who services these cars; I am loyal to my local Pep Boys!) When it came to purchasing, I was blown away— I came with my own financing and tag and was in and out in less than an hour. Jesse deserves a medal for that one! Kiss the days of long hours to close a sale goodbye! The price was absolutely fair. Low dealer fee, no hidden fees, everything was as-expected. Hertz Gold members can present their card for a little extra off. I will be referring friends and family to Jesse and Mike at Hertz Clearwater.

I would strongly advise against buying here. I have made an arrangement with Rick Thayer to buy a minivan and General Manager Sidney Clifton have assured me that it is all clear and good to go. Since it was an out of state purchase, after they told me that we are good to go, I went ahead and purchased an airplane ticket to fly in and pick up my vehicle. Well, guess what, next day I had to call them and verify a VIN number to have this minivan added to my Insurance policy and some salesman informs me that they have actually sold my minivan to someone else. Can you believe that! General manager Sidney Clifton laughed when I have asked to be refunded for my airplane ticked and didnt even care to make it up for my lost $200.00. So dont be surprised if they will treat you same way or even worse. I ended up purchasing same vehicle for the same price with in 50 miles from my home.

Wanted to give me their cheapest car for $60/day. These people are a joke/scammers. Never going to a hertz rental ever again. Found a good better deal at enterprise, where I shouldve gone in the beginning.

What a terrible experience to find out 25 months after you purchased your car that your paperwork was altered from a 48 month loan to a 60 month loan without your knowledge. Very shady business practices from the finance employee, and it was my fault for not reading the fine print of what I was signing after exhausting 3 hours with what I thought was a reputable brand, Hertz. I wont even rent a car from Hertz, none the less purchase another vehicle after this experience.
This was one of the Best Car Buying Experiences!! Richard Thayer is the one to see at Clearwater Hertz Car Sales. I have done my research before I visited the dealership. Richard took my 4 choices and was ready to show them to me. During the conversation on the lot, he asked the right questions and showed his knowledge of the cars they sell. He suggested a different trim and it turns out that it was exactly what was needed. He knows his stuff and showed that he was willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of. After looking over the car we took a test drive. Everything was great and in working order.The engine bay, and interior of the car where spotless. The outside had the small paint scratches of a typical fleet car. It had touch up paint, but I knew that going in most of the cars will have small wear and tear. Not a big deal.Things to know:Price on sticker is what it is. To be safe you can add 15 %to 17% to the sticker price to cover taxes, registrations and dealer fee. Even with that added, the cost of the car was still below Blue Book value.Be sure you have someone at you insurance company available. They require that the car is covered under your policy. Not an issue with us, but wanted to point that out.Most cars come with one key. This is a standard practice with rental fleet cars. Find a Locksmith, and not a Big Box Store to make a copy. Locksmiths know what they are doing and if you call around you can get a great deal.Plan for 2 – 3 hours. It was shorter for me as I was paying with cash, but make sure funds and someone at your bank is available. This will go quicker if you do.Most of the cars are beyond the warrantee of the car maker. Ours had only the power train left, the bumper to bumper was expired.At the end of the day, you will be buying a well maintained used car at a good price. So today i and my wife take our 2015 dodge journey sxt to the dodge dealer because of brake malfunctions.. we get there pay the $140.00 diagnostic fee and find out the car had a recall on it in dec of 2015 and that the abs control module needed to be replaced do to issues with it not working ... long story short hertz said they replaced it in jan 2016 on the 5th .. guy at dodge runs the cars numbers and sees that hertz says they replaced it then checks out the abs control module and finds out that they never replaced it .. looks it up and sees that they just cleaned the one that was supposed to be completely replaced .. guy at dodge tells me that yea we can fix it but its $1200.00 dollars because hertz lied and said they replaced it in the system so we cant do the recall... i call and speak to sydney a guy that i guess runs service their .tell him whats going on and that they lied about replacing the part that they need to fix this says to me while he is on speakerphone in front of the guy at dodge that we dont service recalls we send them to dodge .. guy at dodge tells me thats a lie it wouldnt say hertz replaced it if they sent it to dodge it would say dodge replaced it .. i tell sydney this he tells me well its your problem now have dodge fix it guy at dodge speaks up and says we cant under recall its in the system as fixed we would have to charge them for it guy sydney laughs and says sorry not our problem and your on your own ... so basically im out $140.00 and have to pay an additional $1200.00 and costs to replace all calipers break pads and rotors due to the abs being bad another $600.00 to get it fixed.. this is ridicoulous on customer care these people are a class above scumbags in my book .. straight swindlers .. so now the car doesnt have abs because the module fried and is causing problems so far we have had the car a little under 2 years have went through 4 different batteries that luckily have warranty and an alternator .car doesnt even have 70000 miles on it yet ... Thanks hertz appreciate you caring about the customer !! Dont ever purchase a car through this car dealer in clearwater florida if you go to get a car from hertz go to another location not the one on us hwy 19 in clearwater total disrespect ....
Its true Arrogant and Idiotic people working here. Bad experience not helpful with a so what whos next attitude / I did not buy a car from here no worries just went across the street to there competitors with better customers service /

Great experience! Mike was low pressure and friendly, totally unlike the high pressure sales person we had just left a Fuccillo Nissan. He wanted to make sure we had all of the information to make an informed decision. I took a test drive and we decided to pull the trigger. I had walked in with pre-qualified credit from Capital One, but they ended up getting me a better rate through another lender. Added on the 2 year warranty for an extra $8 per month and it still kept me where I wanted to be for my monthly payment. They kept me in my price range, never tried to stretch me to something more expensive and got me a better deal on payments han I expected.The car itself has one small ding, but besides that looks beautiful and drives like a dream. Mike explained up front that these are mostly rental cars and may have a few imperfections, but the little ding on the car is nothing worse than I would expect on a two year old car.If you want an easy, low hassle buying expierence, come in and ask for the other Mike, they have two Mikes there. Walked in and out in just a few hours with a great 2016 Volkswagen Jetta.I highly recommend!
Its the worst dealer i ve ever seen .. i bought in 2011 a chevy cruze and it was good experience and came back in 2017 to buy a Ford Mustang we agreed about the prices and the deal and the trade price and everything then he told me i can’t buy the car today because its already 4 o’clock then i left the dealer because the financial guy didnt want to do the paper work at 4 o clock pm.So i was getting ready to sign next day . then the manager calls me saying that he cant do this deal after we already talked about everything the day before. So i told him thats fine i don’t want to buy this car i will buy it from your neighbors. Then he told me no thats fine you can come back and we will finish everything. I went to the dealer and then the salesman told me the financial guy left the dealer so come back tomorrow.I went back the day after . The financial guy left all the paperwork for salesman and then the salesman will do it . He didnt know which bank we did the financial with and he didnt know what is the interest rate . So while i m signing i ve seen that he did the financial with another bank than the one we agreed about it .I took the car and left . And said i will never come here again .They paid off my old car to the bank after two months after too many calls begging them to make it faster because i was paying for two cars .The financial guy he s the most rude person i ve seenIt’s HORRIBLE experience. I will never ever come back.
They say cars havent been in crashes .bought my elantra and the bottom came off because it was missing a bunch of clips. Theres dent all along the bottom from where someone ran over something big .
This place is the worst dont shop here dont go through what I went through. They start an argument on the sales floor they took forever to process through our paperwork which they screwed up so when removed to Hawaii and ship the car which cost a fortune we werent able to title it in Hawaii because they screwed up the paperwork dont walk away from this place run away from this place

Although I identified the 2017 F-150 as a potential target vehicle, my daughter has put over 100K miles on a Silverado. Thumbs up to Hertz car sales in ClearWater, FL who created a low pressure environment for my daughter to drive and evaluate this F-150s ride vs. the Silverados ride. With my daughters satisfaction and my appreciation of the value we bought the vehicle! 48 hours after the purchase I noticed that spare tire and jack equipment was missing. Sidney (General Manager) confirmed with dealership photos that the equipment was missing and he committed to and followed through with installing the equipment at no additional cost to me. Fast service and they got me a lower rate
Were stuck in the state due to flight cancellations. We were told the age restriction was waived (from 25 to 21). Came in and sat for over 30 minutes only to be told that for whatever reason we couldnt rent a car to get back home. Stuck here I guess.
This place is a joke. Their truck was disctibed as show room quality. It had been keyed across the whole back,. And had normal dings and scratches you would expect from a rental. Then offered me less than half of fair trade value for my truck.
