I got a fantastic haircut from Kaitlyn today! She made sure I was comfortable with the amount of length she was going to cut off and delivered on cutting it exactly how we discussed.

September 19, 2021. Writing this review for my mother in law: one of the hair dressers put in her two weeks notice at the morning of her shift. My mother in law came in and was her first appointment of the day. As she was getting her work done, the hair dresser got a text from the store management to finish up for the day. All her appointments were cancelled and she was basically asked to leave once finished.If management of the store doesn’t respect the honorable notice for two weeks, then how are we to say that they would respect anyone in there. No one should support this establishment!

Lianne, the manager was very rude. I wanted to return something and she told me she was busy at the moment. Didn’t say that she would get someone else to help me or anything else! I stood there waiting for someone else to help me and 10 seconds later she is all of a sudden not too busy to help someone else who had just come up to the register. I felt discriminated. The lady at the register helping me needed Liannes approval for the return. She was forced to help with the transaction. So unprofessional!

My favorite Ulta store! Everyone is very kind and helpful here, plus their stock selection seems bigger than some other stores. I always find what I need and something extra.

Terry in the salon is absolutely amazing! She is very dedicated to her work and made sure that as a client I was completely satisfied with my end result. ☺️ I will never go anywhere else again!!

Love getting my hair done here. Stylists are great and my hair looks fantastic! Extra is that I earn points having my hair done AND I can use my points for hair services. Its a win - win.

Gabby takes customer service to a whole new level!! Ive been on the phone with 6 diff stores today trying to track down an item. All were friendly, but Gabby at Commack Ulta went WAY above & beyond trying to help.I worked as a manager myself for over 5 years so I know how crazy she must be going 4 days before X-mas. Every other store just said sorry we dont have any. Gabby not only offered to check incoming shipments, she also looked all over the store in places it could have been mixed up in, offered advice on how I could find it at other stores, and let me know when it may be back in stock. I cant say enough good things. Somebody give that girl a raise or a promotion, because she is a huge asset to this company. Thanks again!

If I could give 10 stars I would. I got my hair done at a salon and hated it. I didn’t want to go back because I no longer trusted the girl I went to and my friend suggested I go to Ulta to have them fix my color. I called literally an hour after leaving the salon and Christian took me right in! Christian literally saved the day!!! He was so personable, caring and actually listened to what I was saying and changed the appearance of my hair to what I wanted. He explained to me what happened with the previous hair color I came in with and told me what he was going to do to fix it. I have now found my new hairdresser!!! 10/10 recommend Christian!!

I took my son here to get his hair dyed for his 11th birthday!! JAIME is amazing. My son wanted to have his hair done as FIRE she knocked it out of the park. I love the way his hair came out. I am looking to have my hair done with her. I will always go to her! She is amazing.

I was racially profiled and followed for the whole duration of my visit. I emailed them about my experience in store (multiple times) and received no apology or response. They don’t care about your business if you’re a person of color i suppose.

I love my hair stylist! Terry Balduzzi has been coloring and cutting my hair for so many years I have lost count. She is amazing. She takes the time the to listen to me, and she knows what will look best, even when I dont. If you are looking for a great stylist who knows how to apply color, expert highlights and give you a great haircut that works with the natural movement of your hair, make an appointment with Terry. Her prices are reasonable and the service is the best. Love you Terry!

The people who work there are really helpful but the prices are high on some things.

Products where good. Some of the employees where rude. I was looking at a section of make up, trying to figure out what shade of makeup to buy. An employee walked right infront of my friend and I, and started talking to a customer about that make up. Completely disregarding that we where looking at that exact display and not even acknowledging us(didnt say excuse me, just expected us to move). The girl who rang us up was super sweet.

If my daughter hadnt gotten her hair cut here, I am sure I never would have.Christian was amazing. He listened patiently to my description and looked at a picture I had brought.His skill is spot on. My cut is not only precise, its just what I wanted.Thank you so much.

They were very careful and continually clean wiping down everything after each client. They were also very courteous and fun to be there.

I am not one to write reviews but when you get exceptional, service I feel a review is warranted. I was there Sunday to have my hair and makeup done for my granddaughters sweet 16 party . I had my hair done by Christian and makeup done by Mia who works for MAC . Christian did a beautiful job on my hair and Mia is truly and artist my makeup was applied beyond perfection ! Christian went above and beyond and came over to me when my makeup was completed to touch my hair up before he left . My granddaughter and daughter in law also had their makeup done by Mia . She made my granddaughter look like a princess and my daughter in law looked amazing she glowed .and looked flawless . We were all so happy with our experience at Ulta in Commack . Not to mention our makeup and hair lasted all night through dancing and tears of joy . Thank you so much Mia and Christian! I will definately be going back to Mia for lessons !

Staff was friendly and explained the new set up in the store. I found what I was looking for and roamed around the store a bit.They removed all testers and added hand sanitizer around the store. Good experience.

DO NOT COME HERE. (Salon) place doesn’t even deserve one star. Had makeup done here for prom 2019, and the woman doing my makeup refused to listen to me, basically did whatever she wanted to my face and the makeup lasted about an hour on my face before it was all nearly gone. Looks like she used old/used brushes on my face. Constantly pushed to put lashes on me when I continuously refused, did it anyway. Ended up ripping them off of me because she finally listened. I wanted a bit of black on my lids, she used brown. She did whatever she wanted to my face and the outcome was horrible. I waited 30 minutes past my appointment because the lady checking me in didn’t do it properly and I had to check in with a different woman. Half the women working here are not professional artists and will destroy your face for whatever event you’re attending. After all this trouble I paid $60.

My wife shops here. The employees are quite helpful. Very organized, great scenery and plenty of beauty products.

Kayla at the brow bar is absolutely fantastic. i took my grandmother there to get her brows tinted and Kayla made her feel super comfortable the tint is still there and she’s all around happy with the job Kayla did. She’ll be coming back to get them tinted and shaped next time!

I love coming on my own and with my daughter. It is fun to try new things and the staff is usually pretty nice and helpful. We have gotten a couple quick tips. My only complaint is that when I checked out the lady asked for my phone number to look up my rewards account. She then rang up my sale and after I paid told me I have $11 that expires at the end of the month... In 20 days. Would have been nice to know before paying.

I visited the Brow Bar today and met Kayla. Ive never had anything waxed before and only just recently came out as transgender. She was amazingly gentle and extremely supportive. What an amazing experience. Thank you.

This is just for shopping and Benefit Brow Bar, but I saw the negative reviews while searching for salon reviews and had to speak up. This Ulta is always well stocked and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They really know their stuff and if they cant answer your question, they will find someone who will! I have never been steered wrong at this location.

This store is excellent.its filled with so many supplies for both women and men. My only complaint Is the guys they have doing security staring and following you atound.makes you feel uncomfortable and as if they see you as a potential shoplifter instead of a customer.

It was my first time and found it to be very organized and the staff helpful.

I just had my makeup done by REBECCA at the MAC counter and she was INCREDIBLE! She talked me through everything she was doing, was so gentle and she made me laugh. I will be back! I got compliments from strangers all day!!!

My wife and daughter love this place. Friendly helpful staff with great hair and makeup tips and products. Thats from my daughter. I myself have never entered the place.

I had a great experience at the commack location today. My two young boys and i stopped in to get a refill on my foundation. We were helped by Allison. She was AMAZING. She works in the Clinique section. She gave my son a coloring book while she helped me pick a shade. She was so genuine and patient. Answered many questions and gave me advice. Looking forward to my next time shopping here.

This place is a candy shop for me. They have great selection of different types of make up/nails products/ hair products for men and women/ face and skin cleanser and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

I think the customer service at the Commack New York store is disappointing and not up to the standards of the other stores. I was at this location Saturday March 10th. I needed some service at the MAC counter. I was told that they would get the MAC consultant to help me. I waited about ten minutes when another customer was escorted over by another person who worked in the store.When the MAC lady came over to the area I was ignored and the other lady was helped first. I was so upset I left the store without a purchase.The time of day was late morning early afternoon. Was I ignored becausethe other customer was walked over by another employee? If that was the case that was totally wrong.I worked for a big cooperation for many years that prided themselveson customer service. We never treated our customers that way.

The girl was extremely rude and when we were looking at the items she recommended we went to ask a question and she said I’ve moved on to paying guest Girl we were paying guests too Hence why we asked you questions about products Not shopping at this location or any other for that matter Going to sephora from now on

No good ....Why have a brow bar?? Every time I go there the girls say they have an appointment coming in and can’t take me...then I walk the store and still 15 mins later she is talking to the Mac girl with no client... happened twice .. third time called for apt got put on hold for 17 mins... got asked twice how can I help you .. no one every picked up ... I show up and ask if I can wait to get brows done .. at 4:40 she says no cause her next appointment is coming in at 5:20 and she needs a break. I can’t !

I came here for my makeup to be done for a forma event and I was so disappointed. I’ve been to ulta before to get my makeup done and it’s come out AMAZING. This time, (at this store) My MUA was not even an MUA just someone who knows about makeup. My “wing” liner was bumpy and smudged. My face was not blended well and the highlighter was so intense. I left and I felt like I could’ve done the same at home it didn’t look professional at all, just nice looking. On top of that, the girl next to me getting makeup, her artist was a hair stylist who was doing the makeup (which also looked really bad) and after the girl complained about the look I had to agree with her. Ulta: are you just having people who “know about makeup” do formal makeup or are your artists people who actually know the trade? Because if I’m paying for makeup application at your store i want to make sure it’s someone who knows what their doing.

The Commack location is a confusing place. Its hard to find things and many times they dont have what theyre supposed to carry. Ill often go there because its on my way home, but its not my preferred location; I find some other Ulta stores to be better organized.

Favorite beauty place

I just left visiting this ulta and upon visiting I saw the new Mac counter and picked out 2 lip products I liked them with my boyfriend I continued browsing the rest of the store and upon browsing through the section of hot tools and hair products (I’m in the market for a new curling iron) we were stopped by a woman who looked like the manager who asked if we needed help with anything and I politely said no and she continued to stare at us shopping as if we were there to shoplift and steal from her store. I was there to browse around and I’m extremely offended to find that visiting my local ulta location wearing a full face of (purchased) makeup and nice clean clothes to find that I was accused of stealing simply because of my age. I continued to the register and bought the lip products I had picked out to prove I had plenty of money and I was not stealing. At this ulta location is also where I get my haircut and styled. I will no longer be going to this ulta or any ulta stores and I am deeply offended. At least Sephora employees are polite and do not accuse you of stealing haha..

I hate this Ulta. Honestly they never have the stuff I want in Stock and their dermalogica rep is a nightmare. shes very pushy and very rude. dont go here if youre looking for a facial or any dermalogica products. I cant stand how she invaded my privacy while I was getting my hair done to ask me about my skin issues. meanwhile I see another dermalogica rep and use their full line on skincare. she kept asking me what I used and then started critiquing the products chosen by my esthetician. avoid her!

Had to go Christmas shopping for the wife, the sales help was really knowledgeable about what I was looking for.

Go in get what you need and get out. Done.
