Here is your daily dose of stupidity that has been bothering us since Friday. On Friday we decided to make the switch from AT&T to Cricket for several reasons. So we went to the Cricket store in Corinth MS. I kept my phone and number and had it transferred over. Sandra got a new phone with a new number. However since then at certain times of day and from certain phones she has not been receiving text messages. Instead someone else is receiving them and responding to them. Also she was receiving calls for someone else. After numerous attempts to get the issue resolved with cricket, with no success, we determined that she was given the same number as someone else. As the battle with Cricket continued they determined that the other person that has the phone number has an I phone. We do not. So their solution to the problem was for me to sign on to I cloud from a device and go through the process of removing that number from it essentially disabling that persons ability to receive text messages. To me that sounds devious and possibly illegal and I refused. So they said the only other option is to change Sandys number. I said great that would be fine, until I found out that they wanted me to pay them to change it and absolutely would not wave the fee. Its not about the $15 its about principle. Why should I pay to fix their mistake? So this morning we called the Corinth MS store to explain the situation and see what they could do if anything to help. At first the lady really tried to help. Then it went downhill from there. She finally said they were going to issue our account a credit to cover the cost of the number change. So I asked how this works. Does this mean I have to pay for it out of pocket.... and before I could finish with and be reimbursed by the credit or is the number change getting billed directly to the account? She came unglued yelling at me saying I just told you that your account is being issued a credit! How does that imply you have to pay for anything? I said I am just trying to understand the process and she continued yelling I just told you that your getting a credit. We demanded to speak to her supervisor and she refused to give us her supervisors contact information. Their prices may be good but they are not worth the aggravation. I thought it was a legitimate question. I hope Sandy pays the bill because I am done with them. I would rather pay more somewhere else than to give them another cent!
