They have had my comic for over 6 months! The absolute worst service ever! They say it will only be a few more weeks, That was a few months ago. I seriously think theyhave lost or stolen my comic that was signed by Jim Lee. I tell them to just send it back to me, but they refuse to. Seriously, stay away. CGC is loads better. And thier customer service it outsourced to India. They dont know what thye are doing. WORST!!!

Been dealing with this grading company for about a year now. Daryl is the rep that assist me and he is super. He goes out of his way to assist me with my books. I only had good experiences with CBCS and dont expect it to change. The website is fairly close to the time frame of when your books will be ready. I only pick up and drop off my comics and have not experience any issues like othes say they have in the reviews. I would recommend CBCS especially if Daryl is the rep you get. As long as you are patient and can wait for your booksthen this is the place for you

So I sent away 3 comics to get pressed graded and 1 of the autograghed by the artist back in January. I received the comics back all with 9.8 grades which is awesome but the 1 comic book I wanted autographed was not autographed. I paid extra for this to be done.. I called multiple times they always say they will call you back with a resolution but not once have they called. I called 7 times. I do not trust them. Buyer beware. Ill use CGC instead from now on.

My book was delivered in May and charged to my card. I paid for FastPress and Fast Track. At the time, turnaround time was about 12 weeks. The dashboard on their website keeps saying received and processing, it has never been updated until now. I havent received any updates on whats going on with my submission. Ive called them 4 weeks in a row and keep getting the same exact answer, its being graded now and shipping by end of the week. I cant believe them now because there are no updates to website dashboard, no email updates in the process of the book and customer service is terrible. I am done with this company. I just want my book back and ending my business with them and will only stay with CGC.

Word to the wise: because of covid-19, you will want to request them to ship your books back to you. DO NOT pick the Pickup at CBCS Office when filling out your order because its been a nightmare trying to get my books back!!I had an order of verified signature graded comic books thats been ready for pickup since late-October. I contacted their office #, and the rep said they were not allowing customers to pickup their orders and I would have to send an email.I first started sending emails about this on October 16th and only received one email reply on November 4th stating they were in the process of scheduling pickups and needed to know which day & time I can pickup. I replied to the email Friday from 12noon till your closed. If that works and NO ONE REPLIED BACK. I sent dozens of emails asking for a follow up on scheduling a pickup, Ive even replied to the chain email just take my credit card info and ship it to me!, its now been almost two months now, and I still dont have my books! It wasnt until I was able to make contact with Daryl Hayden that progress was finally made. The original email chain that I had been sending emails to was going to an email inbox for a former employee who was no longer with the company. He apologize for the inconvenience and explained how to move forward with this from now on. I was on the verge of giving up on CBCS, but thanks to Daryls, this mess was finally cleaned up.

I am a Canadian customer and CBCS is absolutely terrible to work with. My comics have been ship to Canada and back to the US and I have no idea where my stuff is now. It takes weeks or months to get any response and it is usually them just dancing around an issue. I will NEVER us CBCS for any grading services EVER!

Sent in one book to get a signature by Donny Cates. They received it in April and still haven’t gotten in back yet. Sent an email to customer service and they replied saying it’s in the shipping stages. When I check online it shows no book has been graded yet. Have to be one of the slowest grading company’s I have went through. Even going through CGC without fast pass and getting them cleaned and pressed by CCS was faster.

They are impeccable graders. I have never seen the type of grading errors that come out of cgc at cbcs.My impeccable graders. However...Billing is a hot mess. They take your card number and run it some time within the next few weeks/months. Unacceptable. Its 2020. Process my payment immediately or give me a hard billing date!!! They also took payment, then months later added a charge and didnt notify me, just put my books aside and let the months slide by. Got my July 2019 submission in October 2020. They are overwhelmed.

If I could give them a zero, that would still be too generous.First, CBCS tired to double bill me.Second, even though One of my books had a certificate of authenticity, CBCS stated they couldn’t verify the signatures. I asked: Can you slab the book with NG, so I can still display it? Their response was: No, we would grade it and count the signatures as damage. (Why are they offering signature verification services?). I told them to refund my money, and return the book with the remainder of my slabbed order.Lastly, I had a book restored by a well known restoration specialist. Steve Brook has known the restoration specialist for years. However, CBCS gave my restored book an epically low grade. After speaking with Brook, he asked me to send the book back for review. I had the book back within a week, with the same low grade. Brook stated to me he did not approve of the restoration method used, and would not change the grade.Never again. I do not recommend these people for anything. And cheers to Metropolis Collectables for suing them.

I rarely write reviews, but went 3 times during supposed buisness hours only to find it closed. Customer support had no clue in what they were saying; that it closes at 6pm, 5pm online, 4pm at the site, 2pm by the manager at Beckett. (same spot) My final attempt to inquire about submitting my comics, I get there at 1pm only to find it closed again. These people have no clue how to do buisness months in during the pandemic, other businesses have managed to adapt while these guys have made no attempts to care for any current/potential customers. CGC has gained another client.

From the moment I first used them I was impressed with how knowledgeable they were on comics, writers, artists, and value. The customer service gets better every time. When you see them at the shows they are always smiling and welcoming and seem to always remember who you are. Thats a VERY big deal for someone like me who loves comics as a true fan and not someone whos just trying to flip a book. The turnaround and prices are reasonable and fair. (Unlike other companies Ive used) and the signature verification program they have is perfect for the comics I have signed BEFORE grading was a thing. Thank you everyone at CBCS.

I used them once and wont use them again. I had a spiderman 1 platinum I had autograph by Todd Mcfarlane. Paid to have it verified. Came back unverified and they graded my comic lower becuase the signature damaged my comic.....from a 9ish down to 4.5.....what gives!?There is NO communications. I wished they would of told me what they were going to do. I would of told them not to anything with it.PLUS, I sent in 5 other comics with it. Half of the grading was why lower then what I would of got from CGC.

After having the worst costumer experience last year and having to buy my comic books back I saw a 20% off New Year discount and thought about giving them another chance. CGC does not verify signatures so I thought it would be a good opportunity to save some cash and grade some signed books. There was no place to enter the discount code to save the 20%. I called and nobody answered. I am just going to stick with CGC and I recommend that if you want your books graded to avoid using CBCS. The costumer service is terrible. Pay the extra $2 and use CGC.

Been dealing with them for years..always a hassle, what ended it was this last submission took nine months to complete, I called several times asking why it was taking so long most of the time I had to leave a meesage and nobody would ever call me back. I finally spoke to somebody and said the books will be on their way in two or three weeks then without letting me know they bumped one of my books up $22 more dollars and wouldnt just wave the fee, no call to tell me either, just holding all my books until I called it paid the $22, hassel and rip off. They also had pretty much kids working at the Fl. Location grading..I knew one, she was only 20 and knew nothing about grading, thats when I stopped submitting as many books with them but then this completely cancelled any further business.

I would give them 0 star if I could. Horrible customer service. Was the first time I brought my comics to them. Since I brought my comics to them everything went wrong. They didnt put my comics into the computer (into my account) for about one and a half week - they just said Oh we are sorry we are understaffed at the moment. I told them several times I will pick my comics up when they are ready, but they just sent it by FedEx Ground and deducted 86$ from my visa. You can call them - you just get the answering machine. Long turnarround time. Never again.

I had two comics sent in for grading at Orlando Comic Con on May 25th. Since then my dashboard has not been updated from the processing notice. Ive called twice and get the standard message that they are sorry that they cannot answer my call. I emailed them for an update on my comics and have not heard back. Ive read that they are 4-6 weeks behind on getting comics out. They have had by books for 19 wks. Thats already longer than the additional 6 wk delay. This will be the 1st and last time I use this company. That same day I sent out 7 books for signature grading and Ive had those back and on display for over two months. Horrible service all around.

Stay away from them! They opened 3 comics to be graded - value more than 4000$ - and sent them back without sleeves. This is a complete loss for us. Probably we have to call a lawyer now. This is horrible. We sent them many request to return the sleeves, but no response. Im sure they lost them. Very unprofessional. Stay away from them!

I submitted books in March 2nd in person by appt in St Pete, paid for fast pass pressing with a 2 Day modern tier for grading. Standard turn around time for pressing was 3-4 weeks with a 2 Day timeframe for the full grading progress, but with fast pass it would be 1.5-2wks on the pressing. Tell me why they said they had to look into where my books were when i called 2wks later. Called back 3rd week, was told they accidentally submitted it for standard pressing. That they put it to the front of the queue. Called again near the end of week 4, was told it was still at pressing and books should be done and graded by early next week. They also stated Ill be refunded my portion i paid for fast pass but refunds r issues every 21st of three month from Beckett. So now i have to wait an additional 4 wks to receive a refund check. The books i submitted were keys issues which i took pictures of in great detail. I only went to cbcs cause it was closer to home. Now its going on the 5th business week and Im being told they dont want to schedule an appt for pickup on Friday because its not finished yet but its done with grading and waiting for encapsulation. I said i paid for the 2 day grading process so it should be done before Friday, which i leave to go out of town for that night.Sorry for the long rant but i had to explain my frustration, and I initially believed cbcs and cgc were very comparable in services. I will no longer consider this company for pressing services as theyve dropped the ball greatly.Thats funny, i post a bad review, then get blocked from all their social media platforms. Luckily i got 5 more accounts. I just want my books back already!
