The customer service was great, the shop is clean, and all of their trucks look well maintained. We were able to work out a great deal and made the 4 hour drive from home. He gave us a reasonable offer on our trade, got us in the truck we wanted, and even gave us suggestions for places to stop at for lunch before our 4 hour journey back home. Drove 4.5 hours to pay cash for a vehicle same experience as other customers writing reviews they simply refuse to negotiate with customers on anything even if they know the truck has a couple minor issues and they offer no warranties because they are afraid to fix what they sell they are only interested in pure profit and nothing out of pocket to help the customerYou say you dont appreciate a negative comment for no reason the transmission line that was said to be fixed on the truck blew out of the transmission on my way home and left me stranded in Illinois and i had to have the truck that i just purchased hours prior to that towed home so i have a pretty good reason

I’ll start by saying I’m well aware that they sell used trucks and they are not going to be in showroom shape. However, when the salesman states over the phone that the truck is in excellent condition outside of the tweaked bumper I could see in the pictures and some rock chips (which I’d expect from a used truck) the truck really should be as nice when you drive all the way to Illinois to buy it. Much to my disappointment upon arriving, this was not the case. I proceeded to go ahead and look at all of the trucks on the lot to see if anything else might of piqued my interest since I had made the drive. They did have a few decent trucks there I would of been interested in talking to someone about, but much to my surprise, no salesman ever came outside. All in all, it was a disappointing experience.

I purchased a truck May 2019 and decided to give it some time before i left a review of Midwest Diesel Trucks. Originally I went down for a 2014 Powerstroke that in the pictures looked good. I was told on the phone it was in great shape ready to go. Upon arriving I found spray paint on the drivers door, overspray on the mirror and window glass. The truck had aftermarket wheels that were double lug nuts with several loose. The tires were shot with a front having a nice gash across it. The rear bumper was tweaked. I specially asked over the phone if the truck had any accidents and was told no clean car fax which i later found that was untrue and it had been in an accident. Since I made the drive we decided to look at the trucks on the lot. Found a clean 2015 Powerstroke. Looked all over and inspected the truck and took for a test drive. Was able to work a deal, but had to come back since I had a check with the 2014 vin on it. Setup an appointment for that Saturday at noon to do the paperwork. After arriving found only the mechanic to be there. Waited 30mins for Noah to show up. Finally got the paperwork finished and left. Made it home fine with no issues. The next morning i found 3 oil spots under the front end. I had looked very closely underneath the truck and there were no signs of any leaks. I can only assume they brake kleened the oil pan to keep it clean. The 2nd day with the truck it tripped an engine light. Since owning the truck I’ve had to have a new upper oil pan installed which needs the transmission pulled, have a Ford technician complete 2 service TSB’s to fix the constant engine lights the truck was throwing. All in all if i were to do it over i would have left after seeing the first truck and not returned. For any future buyers look any truck over with a fine tooth comb and bring a scanner to check for any stored codes that may have been cleared after they received the trucks to sell.

Update: We travel full time hauling a 43 ft. Fifth wheel toy hauler as our home for hubbys work and Hunk is doing awesome. We named him Hunk because he was either going to be a super hunky truck or hunk of junk and so far he has not disappointed. We did put a little money into him but nothing major. Just ball bearings and tires which is to be expected with high mileage. Still very pleased with our purchase and would go back for a truck when needed.We travelled 6 hours from Ohio to look at a truck. We had great response from the beginning over the phone, and upon arriving received great customer service. All our questions were answered, maintenance done at the dealer was shown to us, we were very nitpicky and they were very courteous the entire time. They touched up paint, checked the trailer light harness to ensure it worked so we could tow our car back. Hotel, restaurants, and a movie theater a mile from the buisines made coming in the night before super easy and convenient! Randy was our associate who took the time to go over everything, and Samantha helped with all the paperwork to make getting out the door smooth and painless. Will definitely be coming back for future trucks.

Drove over 4 hours one way to this place with money in hand to buy an 07 mega cab that I had been assured was “professionally” stretched by the shop that stretches many of them for a long bed conversion over a year ago. Climbed under the truck and found the bed was welded to the frame, and the harness for the tail lights was extended with household extension cords. The bed was so close to the cab a pencil could not fit between them and the bumper was just as close to the bed. I let them know the truck was certainly not done professionally, but they did no seem surprised or seem to care.

Good selection. If you cant find what youre looking for, just wait a week and they will have new inventory. Pricing is on spot for Diesel trucks. I was searching for trucks for a while and I kept coming back to their site. Definitely helpful.

Understaffed, poor customer service. Sold us a truck with a faulty airbag. They claimed they would repair it, but I had to pay for it. They said take it to a GMC dealership and they would foot the bill. When they found out that the airbag was an $800 part they conveniently wanted to use their own part which was lost in transit I ended up paying for it myself because my truck sat at the dealership for two weeks. It was a huge safety risk selling a truck with faulty airbags and not following through on replacing them. Very dissatisfied!

Most trucks are super high mileage and from Texas. They buy them cheap down there then bring them up to Illinois. They are really good at making a junk truck look nice. They WILL NOT negotiate. I would have bought a truck there if they would have came down just a couple hundred and they wouldn’t do it. I’m glad they didn’t because I know what type of place it is.

Terrible experience. Within1 hour of purchase we were 60 miles away and stranded 6 hours from home with 2 fried batteries and a ruined alternator. MidWest Diesel refused to reimburse us the $450 cost to replace everything or even come to help us replace these things. They felt they had stuck enough time and money into the truck. I guess it doesn’t matter that it stopped running an hour after it left the lot. Poor service and completely lacks any form of integrity. Would not recommend to anyone.
