The quality and care (with the aide of top-of-line equipment) they deliver for every cup of coffee & tea certainly meets, and even surpasses, some of the best shops we have here in the Bay Area. I love the environment at The River Coffee Company. It’s unfortunate I’m not in downtown Decatur often, otherwise this would be my go to coffee shop (I will probably start going out of my way more often now!). Great coffee, friendly atmosphere, uplifting music. Wonderful first experience.

Just passing through, staying at a hotel in Forsyth. Definitely worth the 12 minute drive to get real, handmade coffee. Everything was outstanding, baristas were friendly and the atmosphere in the cafe was chill, hip and welcoming. Highly recommended!

This place is so great! The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing and the people there are so nice. Aaron really knows his stuff. They have a great thing going here, and I hope it sticks around for a long time!

The staff is friendly and knowledgable, the coffee is excellent, and they have a wide variety of alternative milk options which I love. The atmosphere is perfect for working on your laptop, reading a book, catching up with friends, or making new ones!

Just stopped in to The River and had one of the best cups of coffee Ive ever had, and Im really picky when it comes to coffee. I got the Ethiopian, and for regular coffee its pour-overs only at The River so it was as fresh as can be, and the flavor was out of this world. Really top notch. Ive sought out the best coffee shops in a lot of cities that Ive been to across the country and I have not had a better cup of coffee anywhere. Some have been as good in their own ways, but none have been better.On top of that, great service by real people in a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Really cool vibes, and cool friendly people. Went in right before close and didn’t feel rushed at all to leave. I got the vanilla chai latte with oat milk, creamy amazingness.

The Ethiopian pour over was delicious. The best cup of coffee I’ve had since moving to Central Illinois. My wife’s sidecar (cappuccino with side shot) was also excellent. The space is well designed and the the noise level is not too loud. I just wish they had a second location in Springfield.

Theyre literally making world class coffee here. When I travel, I try to get an espresso at high end coffee shops in whatever big city Im in.Aaron is pulling shots that are every bit as good an anything Ive drank in any city anywhere in the nation.

Beautiful café nestled in the downtown area of Decatur Illinois; Ideal spot for a meeting or reading a book or, in my case, both. Atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, coffee is incredible and fresh, and connected next door is an eclectic shop with tonnes of cool items. EDIT: the shop has been moved to a new location and no longer has an attachment; while this is unfortunate, it is also to be expected when a building burns down - am I right?

Great location in the orginal town center, need some signage so it is easier to spot. All drinks were excellent. 2 1/2 hour journey one way, and will be making it again in the future.

Not your average coffee shop! If you love coffee or youre someone like me who doesnt drink much coffee, stop in and the staff will find something youll enjoy. They make their own flavor syrups and size their coffees off of traditional pours. Its a quaint shop that you might drive by if you didnt know it was there. Great people!

Lets talk about the best coffee in Decatur, IL.Granted its not a to go type of shop. However, the best cup of coffee will obviously take time. I dont know many owners that take the time to get to know every customer, but this place does! Looking for a restful atmosphere with good coffee? Then check this place out!

Always welcoming by myself or with friends. Great Amazing Coffee for any mood I’m in and any taste I want. My wife likes the teas and the atmosphere. The whole place is neat and clean from the front door to the bathrooms which have flowing faucets!

Great place for a cup of joe. I personally prefer the Chai Tea Latte, but there is a wide variety of coffees and teas in multiple different flavors. It has very friendly service, might I add. Will definitely be returning soon.

Cute place, very friendly staff, shares a door with a record store next door. Good coffee, staff gave me the wrong drink, but was apologetic and poured me the correct one without missing a beat. Have a piano and guitar available for anyone to play. Wish I lived nearby so I could visit more often!

Great new coffee shop in Decatur with top notch service. Aaron, the owner of the shop was quite pleasant to talk with and he didnt mind sharing their story. The coffee bar itself is a handmade beauty from old barn wood.

Not a good place to get a coffee to go. Nice atmosphere, funky & fun. Hiperster but very kind and patient staff. Coffee is not up to standard for what you pay for. Expected more for what you pay and reviews.

I loved going here to do work over the weekends. The owners are very knowledgable about the drinks they provide and are dedicated to quality. I enjoyed everything I tried here and would strongly recommend their tumeric latte. I also enjoyed the friendly environment where while it was not uncommon to see people reading or discussing the bible and the music usually included Christian tracks it was by no means pushy or in your face. Overall would recommend to anyone who enjoys good warm beverages or a friendly Christian environment.

Not only is it the best coffee and tea I have ever had, but the decor and atmosphere are amazing. Exposed brick walls and beautiful artwork fit the staffs laid back, artsy and fun sense of style.

Such a beautiful place, it has a great aesthetic, the coffee is amazing, there isnt a billion choices. The tea is seriously amazing I had their wondermint tea and it was perfect.
