Like always, I go to find an extension cord & have to pass by the nursery there. To find out that they have a varierty of indoor & outdoor plants, they all look well taken care of. They were slow in business not alot of customers but alot of employees working. Like Ive been to another Home Depot but they didnt have indoor plants! So excited I came across this one. π³ππ
I just received a HORRIBLE customer service at the Pickup online order at this HD in Deerfield today. I had to wait in line for 30 minutes, waiting for them to look for the order of a customer in front of me. He was there before me so he must have waited for more than 30 minutes and they still didnβt find his order. Finally another HD staff named ELZBIETA came to help me. I was picking up a beverage cooler. When he pushed it out, I noticed the box was broken. One side of the box was wide open from top to bottom and I could see the cooler inside. The foam that was supposed to be there to protect the cooler was broken and fallen out. I notified him but he ignored me and rushed it in my minivan. I said, excuse me, are you ignoring me? He responded, if you donβt like it, bring it back to return. Then he walked away from me. Itβs not on me that I like it or not. You just gave me an opened box and potentially damaged product! I paid a full price for it, not a clearance or an open boxed item. You should have apologized for its condition and asked if it was OK. I got upset on how he treated me and went back to the store. He now was behind the Return counter. He asked βhow can I help you?β pretending not knowing what was going on. I repeated myself that you just delivered me an item with the box was damaged and you ignored me and walked away from me. His argument with me was he had other customers waiting here. Iβm also your customer! As a matter of fact, there was no one else waiting, and I was able to walk right to him at the Return counter. He also said my husband was ok with it. He was but I was not and I was expressing my concern to you. He argued with me back and forth like a kid. Then he did the return, but didnβt refund the 3 year warranty service that I also purchased along with the cooler. Just HORRIBLE!!!
Make sure you avoid their extra warranty services. We took a flyer on a new dishwasher and paid extra for a 3 year. 2 weeks later and we still cant even get an appointment scheduled βΒ the provider cant be bothered to enter in correct information and weve spent countless hours wasting our time going in circles with these people. Home Depot couldnt care less.Were in the process of filing BBB complaints and contacting Illinois Consumer Fraud to investigate the situation. If youre ever in doubt, purchase from trusted local sources like ABT that work with the customer βΒ we should have.
Home Depot has prety much everything you need, in home repair, remodeling, landscaping, etc., etc. Paint, plumbing, electrical, plants, tools, lumber, you name it they probably carry it and at reasonable prices. Along with friendly knowledgeable advice/service its hard to go wrong when choosing the place. π
I came here to rent a truck at 6pm. The store doesnt close until 10pm. They first told me I cant rent. I then spoke to a manager and they told the guy he didnt know what he was talking about and that he could rent me a truck. He then went in the back and started cutting pipe for about an hour before actually renting me the truck. Right now its 7:08 pm and I still havent gotten my truck. Great service....Edit... I got my truck and its 7:21. Took well over an hour for some reason
They placed our order late to the vendor and didnβt bother to even say sorry. Waited over a month and still have yet to hear back from them. Why does the customer have to constantly call back to see what the status is of the order? One of the worst HDβs in Illinois.
Employ adults children do not where anything is at or what its used for and pay them for their experience problem solved

Worst experience shopping I can remember. Went in with new house plans to purchase and order windows. So called expert was nasty, mean and couldnt be bothered. He asked two questions, the first one he was completely wrong on, the second question I stated I have to look on plans and evidently I didnt move fast enough cause he grabbed them from me. No one was waiting behind us.
If you are a DIYer this place has it all.Use the app to locate what you need.The staff has always been helpful when I needed assistance. Financing is available on larger items.If you do not want to spend hours just looking around get what you need and get to work.Enjoy.
Ken from the Carpet department was rude during my visit. I was hesitant to enter the Home Depot due to itβs non progressive roots, but decided against listening to my intuition. When I arrived, I was inquiring about birdhouse kits, and he very disrespectfully told me not to step on his carpet. Not going back ever again. If you happen to need a birdhouse kit, DO NOT GO HERE. THEY DONβT SELL THEM AND KEN WILL NOT HELP YOU.

I know times are weird and tensions can be high right now under the current status of our country, but literally every single staff member I spoke to today (Aug. 25, 2020) was extremely friendly and helpful. I first stopped at returns/CS, then I was helped by two different folks in the paint section, one to unlock some tools, another in self-check out, and then finally Mari in the garden dept. who definitely made the biggest impression. She was extremely helpful and also very sweet with my daughter. She probably deserves a raise. Nice work on your team selection, Home Deep! Iβll be back soon.

Staff is generally friendly and helpful. No complaints in that regard. They finally stopped showing quantities of certain in demand products that they have been out of. Much smaller than Menards stores.

Keith, in the plumbing department is quite possibly the most EDUCATED employee in any Home Depot I have ever been to. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about every department of the store, he is kind enough to hand me off to employees that are extremely knowledgeable (subject experts) on their department. I have a vintage (1920s dress form) that im completely gutting and rebuilding and he spent a few hours on Sunday helping me find the necessary tools and gizmos i needed to get the project done. I stopped by today (Monday) because I ripped a hole in a part of my project and I ran into Mark in the plumbing department and he told me Keith had JUST went to lunch (like I seriously saw him walk away to lunch lol). He yelled Keiths name and he turned around and spent about half an hour of his TIME OFF to help me out. Hes so passionate about helping employees and interested in projects that they do. Hes a diamond in the rough, and I truly mean that because many employees (4 to be exact, excluding Mark and Keith) sent me to wrong isles and had ZERO knowledge of the store or any interest in what I needed help with. Im a very personable person, and unfortunately retail stores hire folks who have zero interest or knowledge in the stores they work for. Im here to say Keith and Mark are the rare gems that exist in retail stores and I seriously think they both deserve a raise, please treat your employees that are the stars of the store as valuable assets!!

BEWARE!!! If you purchase appliances from Home Depot, you only have 48 hours to report any damage. In our case we worked remotely out of state and could not possibly inspect an almost $900 cooktop within the given timeframe. Now Home Depot takes no responsibility and offered to sell a new one.
Go to the Glenview location instead. The aisle workers were helpful; however, the cashier and manager were extremely rude and demeaning. In one transaction they disrespected my military sister, law enforcement, and me as a pro x-tra account holder. If youβre in the north suburbs and need something at Home Depot, visit the glenview store; they are hands down a better store.

After buying online at Homedepot.com and receiving an email that my order was ready to be picked up at Home depot Deerfield. I waited on the curb sites for more than 20 mins and nobody sted in. Went inside and they told me my order showed as cancelled on their system. I showed proof of payment with Homedepot credit card and asked for them to release what I purchased. They didnt release it and made me call homdedepot.com. After calling home depot.com they called the store and told me they would deliver it free next day and call me to confirm, what never happened.After 3 days calling back and forth, the only option the store gave me was to cancel my order and put a new one and pay it again! They were not polite talking to me and left me hanging forever at the phone every time I wanted to speak to a manager.Please pick up another homedepot location if u can !!

Went to return ceiling fan which stopped working but within return period, original receipt only to met with a rude person from Electrical Mr. Toni who wouldnt accept the return even after showing him the prominent display of return policy struck on the return desk. He didnt even bother to ask what the problem was. He also lied that he is the store manager while the home depot app list one Ms. Leena G as the manager. Very poor customer service

Always a pleasant experience here! Checkout is fast and friendly, and they have a hot dog stand that is open most of the working day.

I often find the staff of this location to be rude and unhelpful, particularly the Customer Service Desk. Today I placed an online order for in store pickup. When I arrived I realized I needed a few more items. I got a cart, picked up the items and a few plants and headed to the customer pick up area, stood in line and waited. The lady named Jacel looked up from her computer and pointed toward the check out are at the other end of the store and said check out is down there. I told her I had an online order to pick up. Her only response was Well, do you have the order number? I provided the order number, she pulled out a cart with my item, printed a receipt and handed it to me with no other words. I asked if I could purchase the other items I had picked up and she said Nope, check out is down there and pointed. I asked if I could leave one cart there since I had no way to push two carts at one time. She said sure but you will have to go to checkout, pay, take those items to your car, come back in to get this cart and go out the exit where checkout is located. One entrance, one Exit!! This young lady named Jacel could have offered to walk the second cart to my car or any other form of assistance but offered to be completely rude instead. That frankly, is my typical at this store.

This home depot is really good. There is always someone around to help and if not, they will find someone. I cant tell you everything Ive purchased here but, its everything from appliances to tile to nuts and bolts. And no matter what I buy I have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for a return. No questions asked. All the employees are polite and willing to help.
Clean store and super clean bathrooms. Plant department looked taken care of unlike other stores, plants were watered and looked very healthy. Unfortunately there werent enough associates present on the sales floor to address my question so I ended having to open some merchandise to see if my part matches it. Overall good store. Self checkouts all the way here.

After visiting the store if not too sure to buy a product just snap the model number and use it in the website to order it later. also delivery will be free based on the amount of the purchase!

I always find what Im looking for. The staff are always pretty helpful and with self serve checkout, the buying experience is pretty quick and painless. I think at times the turn the seasonal items too quickly, but thats our unpredictable weather in Chicago.

As of 3/25/2017 they have stepped up their game. I agree with a lot of the other reviews on here but they now have more personnel on the floor and you really do need to reach out to them. They may be very good at walking the floors but a lot of these people arent real sales people so you need to approach them and say hey can you help me theyre very helpful
If I could give no stars I would let me start by saying we are on our third houseβ¦ And our third renovations of a house. We have lived all over the country and this Home Depot is by far the worst one weβve ever been to. We will not be going back. The rest of our stuff will come from Menards or Loweβs from now on. Now it probably means nothing to you because thousands of dollars we spend (literally spent $23,000 last year alone) yearly at your store means nothing to you because when I go in there asking for assistance no one has time for us. We no longer have time for Home Depot!I fondly remember the days that we were loyal to Home Depot because of their costumer service. YOU WILL GET NO MORE MONEY FROM US!!!!
