Went in to check this place out. The shop has a good selection of bicycles. They also sell used parts and clothes. Awesome community shop. A great go-to bicycle shop if youre just getting into cycling or need to get accessories or a bicycle.I needed to get my bicycle brakes adjusted. I called several bicycle shops in the area. All of them were busy. I dropped by Bikes Together, put myself on the list after 30 minutes they worked on my bicycle. Adjusted the brakes and determined that my chain was 75% worn. I had the chain replaced and was very happy with the work. This is one of the best bicycle shops in the Denver Metro Area. This organization offers clinics and trys to get kids onto bicycles. They take donations and refurbish bicycles to give to the needy. They sell new and used parts. Go and check them out for your bicycle needs.

My preferred bike shop in Denver. Expert mechanics and retail people, with no pretension. Even in peak Covid, I received fair priced service quick. The mechanic gave options, she was fair and got it done while I waited (I feel fortunate). Bike purchase inventory was light it seemed, but that changes often since they rebuild used stuff. Thanks Garrett, thanks bikes together, my neighborhood shop.

Ive been coming here for bike repairs and classes and so on for five plus years, and its a consistent delight and an incredibly valuable resource for its community. Absolutely worth every penny I spend here, and with helpful, kind, well informed volunteers to assist with every bicycle related need you may have. A joy to have in Denver.

After I had both of my tires stolen from my bike, I wasnt sure where to go. Every bike shop I tried either didnt have the right tires, was way too expensive, or just unable to help my situation. That definitely was not the case when I came here. The helpful volunteers guided me through every step of my bike repair process. Not only did I get the parts I needed inexpensively, I learned a great deal about bike repair. The hands-on experience that I received here helped me fix my bike completely on my own in the future as well. Plus, it was seriously inexpensive compared to other bike shops in Denver. This is, in my opinion, the best bike shop in Denver. Its definitely ruined all other shops for me. Great customer service, awesome prices, and a wonderful experience.

I understand the COVID-19 situation is making things complicated for everyone. However, this place was super rude to me today and I feel it was completely unjustified, regardless of COVID-19. My family just moved to Denver. We are both working from home full time and homeschooling our 2 kids (like everyone else right now). We both want bikes so once we are able to go back into our workplaces we can do so by bike instead of by car. We stop by the Fairfax location today and see a sign that they are only seeing people by appointment right now. Ok, I understand that. So I ask about how to schedule an appointment because there wasn’t an option to do so on their website. The person I spoke with explained that every Tuesday at noon they set out a clipboard and people sign up for appointments that way. So I ask if there is another option because my husband and I both work Monday-Friday. He explains that they want to give the Park Hill neighborhood priority to these appointments. I inform him that we do in fact live in Park Hill we just can’t get down to the store at noon on a Tuesday. This is what upset me. He says that they want people who are available noon on Tuesdays to get priority for those appointments. Who exactly is he talking about? Rich people without jobs? If they are booked out two weeks, fine. I’ll get in line and follow the rules. I feel like I was told to “go away, I’m not going to let you make an appointment.” Perhaps I’m being too sensitive. But he did in fact tell me he can’t and won’t help me and I’m confused as to why. I think this place has a snobby elitist vibe and I’d go elsewhere if I were you.

Super disappointed! Thought I would give this non-profit charitable bike shop a chance but I received very poor service and repair quality! I paid for a $60 tune-up and asked them to check my front hydraulic brakes because hey were squeaking. They called a day after they said they would to tell me I needed a new brake lever that was going to cost $60 extra dollars. I accepted and was told on wed that my bike would be ready the following Tuesday or Wednesday. I never received a call, had to call myself the Saturday after the Wednesday I was told it would be ready by. Pick up my bike: tires are still flat, bike still dirty in all the same places, and my front brake is squeaking worse than when I brought it in and my tire is getting caught on the brake. I told them and they were nice enough to adjust it so it wasn’t squeaking or catching any longer. But why did I pay $60 for a new brake lever to fix this issue if I now have the same issue with a new part!? Makes no sense to me! And I never received my original brake lever that they replaced. So I feel I got ripped off, they didn’t complete the tune-up (I feel they didn’t do anything accept slap the new brake lever on 3 business days after they said they would) and I think they sold me a new brake lever that wasn’t ultimately needed. Very disappointed and will definitely never visit this shop again.

Everyone was really kind and great at helping me test and fit the bike but the price I paid ended up being WAY too high. I support their charity but now that I am trying to sell the bike a few years later, it is in great shape and I will end up getting 20% of what I paid a few years ago. WAY overpriced....so caution when paying for a used bike here to make sure you are really getting a decent price.

I will definitely be back! What a great community resource.

So I went today to fix my bike with help (needed a new tube and my brakes adjusted). Tube was no problem - Ive done that many times before, but where I needed the help was with the brakes. The book that they gave me didnt help me (Im more of a explain and/or show me, than read it kind of person). Once he explained and showed me how to adjust it, I was good to go.Very knowledgeable, very helpful, both in person and on the phone. I would highly recommend them if you need your bike fixed and want to do it on your own to save some money.

Excellent community-led bike shop! They have a big selection of used components that you can buy, and their fix-your-bike hours are great. I took my 70s Fuji bike to work on a failing derailleur, and the staff was very helpful in teaching me how to do the repairs on my own. I only paid for parts, and put in the full labor myself with their help. Best of all, I learned how to assess, fix, and adjust bike derailleurs. Highly recommend this bike shop!

This is a great shop for discount gear and friendly advice. That being said I have never had worse results with getting my bike tuned. I have a few bikes and upon purchasing my newest bike I decided to give this place a try. After riding the bike for a few weeks I took note of all the issues I needed addressed and gave them my bike. The turnaround was about two weeks and upon recepit of my bike nothing I asked to be fixed had been repaired. After returning the bike to them, it was returned shortly after and once again all the issues were not fixed. At this point they had been in possesion of my bike more than I had been.I decided to take the bike to a competitor for a free checkup, without informing them it had been recently tuned. Their lead mechanic gave me a report saying it needed a full tune and seemingly had not received one in a few years, even though I had brought it directly from the shop at the bike depot. Although the competitor may have been trying to get some extra money from me the performance of the bike would lead me to believe his report to be accurate. So go to the bike depot for nice folks and discount gear, but beware tuneups and make sure all the things you pay for are done as my bike clearly was skipped over in the service department.

I asked the head mechanic that day and he took 20 minutes out of his time with a special tool to rethread the fitting for my pedal. Horrible experience. I went in with a old Schwinn with gears that kept slipping. I was waiting for them to tell me the bike wasnt worth fixing. Instead he said I needed a new bottom bearing. I came back the next day for their fix it yourself hours. I replaced the bottom bearing but that didnt solve the slipping gears. Oh, its your bracket. Replaced that, still no good. Oh, its your chain. Replaced that, still no good. $50 later and they say this that and the other thing needs to be replaced. By now I was clearly frustrated at which point their volunteer started yelling at ME for being inpatient and have a bad attitude. So I paid for the parts I had already put on and left. Horrible diagnosing of the issue, rude and unhelpful staff, and the bike is no better than it was when i went in. Will never go back to this place.
