My bike, Georgia the Giant, had not been tuned up since 2014. She was in need of new brake lines, brake pads, tires, handlebar grips, a deep clean, and whatever else is done in a tune up. I just moved to Denver and needed a bike shop.Denver Bicycle delivered!!! Georgia hasn’t looked this good since 2012 when I bought her. Brad is very knowledgeable and walked me through what he recommended for my bike before doing the work. We looked at different tire choices, etc. Their prices are competitive. When I picked my bike up, he went back over what all he did. And my bike looks soooooo good!!! Tip: they have a discount on tune ups for the month of January. The real test was the ride home. It was the best!!! I will be going back for help in the future. Thank you Denver Bicycle and Brad!

For the purpose of fixing a flat, service was quick and priced similarly to other bike shops Ive been to do repair flats. One star off because of the godawful steep stairs to get out of Ace Hardware and up to the bike shop on the 2nd floor, even with the ramp (because the ramp is just as steep as the stairs). Most guys with bikes are tall enough that their bikes will clear stairs when they lift it up, but Im 411 and my bike is cheap and pretty much made of pig iron, not a lightweight racing material. I cant get the clearance taller people get when I lift the bike up going up/down stairs, and even if I almost have clearance, the weight means I have to keep putting it down to rest...which doesnt work well on super-steep stairs, or ramps. Another customer saw me struggling to get that bike upstairs (with a front flat no less) while riding my brakes so it didnt suddenly go backwards and take me with it and helped (helped me get my bike up, not helped me tumble down!), but I wish thered been an alternative than other customers helping me get upstairs.Once the repair is done and youre leaving...Gravity obviously helps on the way back down...too much so. Again, had to ride my brakes and throw my weight backwards on the way down. Frankly, it would have been easier to ride the bike down the stairs--except for any poor Ace Hardware customers in the aisles. Dont want to mow the Ace folks down...

If you want to be threatened with legal action for simply offering constructive feedback to the management then shop here. I was a loyal customer for multiple years. Found a leak in my tube they had just replaced so I brought it in. The tech says he cannot find the leak and asks me to, within seconds of him handing it to me I could hear the leak and pointed it out. They charged me for a patch kit and used it in shop, did not stop the leak so I went back and made a complaint. The management continually refuted they do not do patches after they had just done one for me in the shop and threatened to sue me when I asked for a refund and mentioned leaving a negative review. DO NOT SHOP HERE. The techs are unqualified and lazy and the management is unruly.

I bought my first good MTB here. Im disappointed with the way the owner treated his female employee. I took the bike for a test ride and after I decided to buy it he put it on the stand to get it ready to ride. He was so rude to his female employee and yelled at her because she didnt put enough air in the tires for me to test ride it (and I ha do issues on the test ride). I feel so bad thats she has to deal with someone like that. She was so helpful to us and was extremely busy, therefore we had zero complaints about her. I have a warranty on the bike and im never going to use it here because of how uncomfortable that made us feel

I highly recommend avoiding this bike shop at all costs. My only guess as to why they actually get business is because their name is so search engine optimized. They seem to be the most clueless bunch of people in the industry… Our family experience relates to a bicycle repair job that resulted in non-functional brakes. When the issue was brought to their attention after picking the bicycle up, they seem to have very little motivation to resolve the issue. After the bicycle was returned to give them another try, they’ve left yet again and the bicycle still doesn’t have functional brakes. How any business can think it’s a good idea to not except responsibility or resolve an issue that could result in serious injury or death is beyond me. Clueless. Clueless. Clueless.

The bike wont stop!Called the shop and ask for a refund for just the service, I was still willing to pay for the tubes. Was told I could get a refund, but the Accountant would have to call me back. Accountant calls me, tells me she will give me a full refund then changes her mind. Tells me since I didnt come in for a brake service, I got what I paid for (As a reminder, see above - The bike wont stop!), If I want the brakes fixed, I would have to bring the bike in a 3rd time!Called my cc company and disputed the charge. I know I know. Im super nice on the reviews. I need to take a page from Anton Egos book and be a little more cynical. So here it goes. Ive been to Denver Bicycle a few times and ....I WILL CONTINUE TO GO BACK! They finished a tune up in a week after quoting 2 weeks (which is a standard quote) but they also called to make sure that I was ok with my front shift not working. They didnt have the part and called to make sure it was kosher. I have a front shifter at the house. So for a decent price and quality work Id check them out. They are located in the hardware store which also works for me when I need garden snips or toilet cleaner for the guest bathroom.....Kyle. The bike I took in wasnt a nice one but one I loved and got me out of a pinch when I was broke and didnt have a car. Now that I can afford, slightly, to clean it up meant a lot to me. And they had no problem working on a tier 2 bike. A+ customer service....A+ work

Walked out with a fully functional bike in less than 30 minutes - and at a very reasonable price. Similar story when they replaced some broken pedals on my wifes mountain bike. And fixed the disc brakes on my sons bike. Denver Bicycle is the kind of old school, pride-in-your-work, reasonably priced shop you wish was still around. Saw great reviews and gave the spot a shot due to its close location, however my experience was disappointing. Needed a large carbon mtn bike handle bar trimmed down over the weekend, and was told to come in during the week. Went into the shop today with the bar and was told that they would not perform the work due to liability. After trying to convey that I will not sue them and if a carbon handle bar breaks on the trail, i will most likely be in a flight for life to the severity of a crash it would take to break a carbon bar. Was then directed that i could buy a pipe cutter to do it myself, which is part that put me off the most. A carbon handlebar cannot be cut using a pipe cutter. It will flay the carbon laminate, due to the angle of the blade, effectively ruining the bar. After hearing that advice I would be hesitant to recommend this place to others.I will also add that this was just the interaction with the person at the register, one mechanic seemed as puzzled as I was about the interaction.

Bike looks good cosmetically, but was late and still has issues that I paid to have fixed. Was told he did a brake adjust on both sides for a deal, but now at home I’m seeing the front is still rubbing and the rear feels unchanged. Asked for only a single shifter installed and he did both “for only a bit more”. Was quoted 135 due at 12p one week away. I heard nothing and had to call at the time due to see what was going on. Was told it would be ready before they close, 7 at the latest. Get there and instead of honoring the quote they charged me 180 for additional parts and labor. Additional parts and labor I didn’t authorize or even know they were doing. Late, over quote, and bike still has issues I was told would be fixed. They just gave me a bunch of lame excuses like they couldnt order the parts online? First of all I can get on my phone and order the bolt in 2 seconds without even having to talk to a person . Im just not sure how to do the work myself. You would think a bicycle repair shop would have some knowledge. I cant believe a BOB stroller tire is that much different from an array of bike tires. So there a bicycle repair shop and a hardware store that cant get a simple tire replaced is what Im hearing from them. This place is less than professional they act more like youve come to their house and knocked on the door and are bothering them. Maybe they dont understand how a place of business should run. So now you get a bad review. And believe me I wont be back. And I will tell everybody who asked me why and I will refer anybody anywhere but your shop.
