The ABSOLUTE best. Totally lives up to their name. It was a calm, honest, and caring experience. Matt took care of us with a great estimate, good advice, and no pressure. Their installation crew, Brent and Brandon, were the best! They were clean and professional, they handled a curve-ball my house threw at them quickly, expertly, and without additional cost! We had Zen Windows replace every window in our house this spring. The process was even easier than I hoped for. With no sales pressure, super responsive to questions and just overall easy to work with. They 100% stick to the price they quote you even if something unexpected pops up. We had a change that had to be made to our bedroom windows that caused the price of the windows to go up and they did not charge us anymore than what was first quoted. Brian, our installer and his team did amazing work making sure everything was perfect and the way we wanted it and always left their work areas spotless when they were done. I have already recommended them to friends who have already gotten quotes from them and plan on using them if that tells you anything. When we are ready to get our new doors installed I will definitely be using them for that as well.

Am unsure who I spoke with since the lion crackled slightly right as she said it but she was very polite and nice. I had no problems with her and she did her best to answer my questions about a door installation my family needed done. However she was unable to answer all of my questions so she took my name and number and said she would have someone call me the next day who could answer the rest. Have received no calls at all for follow up and have had to hire a different company due to lack of communication. Very disappointed and frustrated considering that all the reviews I had read had been positive which is why I called Zen in the first place.

The windows are beautiful and the Zen team is respectful, great communicators, prompt, helpful...pretty much everything you could hope for from purchasing all the way through installation. The customer service alone sets them high above. Their sales tactics were not pushy, and prices competitive with Pella. We made a big purchase for a sunroom full of windows, and while the story leading up them needing to be replaced was not pretty (dishonest realtor, shoddy inspection), Zen managed to put a happy ending on it. Pretty impressive!

They just installed all new windows in our house. They were great to work with. The first quote was done all via email, which was much better than a previous quote wed gotten with a pushy salesman in our house. They answered all of my many questions very quickly, and communication was excellent throughout the entire process. When it came to installation, Brian and his son did our install and they were fantastic. They were very friendly, cleaned up after themselves, and did excellent work. I was blown away that he trimmed out the entire house in one day and everything looked great when finished.We only had a couple minor issues. First, our windows took a lot longer to come in than expected. In total it was about 4 months from ordering to getting them installed. It sounds like its this way for everybody though because of Covid, and they were waiting on the glass manufacturer. So certainly not their fault. The second issue was one of the windows wasnt quite what we had ordered. When we brought it up they immediately offered to either order us the correct window, or allow us to keep the one that we had received and a discount on the job. I could tell they genuinely felt bad and their offer was more than fair for the mistake.I highly recommend them and would work with them in the future without any hesitation.

Matt was incredibly helpful despite the fact that Zen Windows doesnt do the kind of broken glass repair I needed. After hearing my confusion about how to fix the original cause of the broken window, Matt offered the help he could offer. He recommended glass repair shops for the pane and then taught me how to fix my own windows! He invited me to send him pictures of my windows and he taught me how to unlock the pivot shoe and remove the pin, pointed me towards the specific parts online (only $20), and empowered me to take care of my other windows that had ceased functioning. He was generous with his time and knowledge and Im incredibly grateful.

I did a lot of research and had 2 other companies come give us an estimate for replacement of all our windows. Zen was right there with another company in price, but we chose Zen based off the reviews we read, as well as how great the process was, no one in my home trying to sell me windows, just an upfront no pressure way of doing things. While other window companies required an in-home consultation, Zen gave me a quote using just pictures of the old windows and a description of what I wanted. They were only a bit more expensive than Window World, and the windows are amazing quality! They always responded quickly to questions. The installers were super professional, quick, and tidy. 11/10 would recommend.

I cant say enough good things about the owners and staff at Zen Windows. I needed to have some windows replaced prior to selling a house, and everything about working with this business was easy. I just had to email pictures of the windows in order to get a quote. Once I got the quote, they quickly sent someone out to do measurements. After that, the timeline for installing the windows was a lot shorter than expected. Matt & Alix are super professional. They respond to emails very quickly, and my questions were always answered. The people who measured and installed the windows were so competent and professional, and in the end, the windows look great! In comparison, Window World sent a slow-moving and terse fellow who had to physically look at my windows and ask me what Zen Windows was charging before spending literally 10 minutes in my driveway, silently filling out a paper form that in the end provided me with a quote that was only $20 cheaper than the price from Zen. Zen Windows will be my only window provider from now on.

I called Zen Windows because I had a window that was broken inside the mechanism. I figured I would have to replace the whole window. Instead of pushing the sale, the people at Zen Windows listened to me and sent me videos about how to fix the mechanism.If I do need to change out my windows, Zen will be the first call I make!

We did wait for a while to get our windows- however, that allowed more time to save more money. The quality of windows is great and we no longer have air leaking in. They replaced 9 windows and trim. This is an older home so they had to have the trim done at a local milling place as you cant get that stuff at the local big box stores. Brian was great on the installation and also noticed a place on our new metal roof that was not done right by one of the windows. He made a piece of flashing and fixed that problem at no extra charge. Thats the type of people you are dealing with when you work with ZEN. After the initial quote of pocket windows they decided to upgrade the windows to full frame replacements. These are more expensive and I was scared I was getting the old bait and switch. That wasnt the case. Matt didnt want to change the quote, and ZEN ate the difference in the cost. Very satisfied with the whole process.

My experience working with Zen Windows Des Moines was truly amazing. Buying replacement windows for me was a big time investment (almost too big). So off I went looking for that hard-to-find combination of quality and a fair price. Well folks, I got lucky when I found these guys. Three reasons why I think they are the best: 1) they sell/install top quality windows (I did my homework); 2) their installers proved to be skilled craftsmen that take enormous pride in their work and 3) the owners care...a lot...they take the time to make sure you are comfortable and happy with every step throughout the process. I have worked with other window companies in the past; their products and service did not hold a candle to Zen. Not even close. Its almost unfair. One last comment, and it was a big part of why I picked Zen - no sales pressure. No high pressure salesman will come to your house with his hour long dog and pony show (including props) telling you you have to sign a contract today or else. With Zen there is none of that nonsense. Just send them the pictures, get a written quote with a guarantee, and you decide. Done. This is the best experience Ive ever had working with any company on a major purchase. Period.

We met Alix and Matt at last years Iowa State Fair while walking thru the Industry and Trades building. We had wanted new windows for our home for the longest time and had walked past several window displays. You can spot high pressure sales people a mile away as we kept walking. We came to Zen Windows display (Dont pay $1200 for a $599 window) and immediately sensed a difference as Alix and Matt were easy to talk to and down to earth people showing us their windows. Alix gave us her card and we told her wed be in touch. Alix sent an e-mail following up with their window and door brochures along with video links. I liked this as Im old school and like to do my homework and research. We exchanged several more emails with questions from us and one telling of an up coming price increase. Having built our home we had blueprints and sent them and got our estimate. With several changes and additions to the original estimate we signed our agreement. Dan came to measure our windows and was very professional as was Brian and the install crew having excellent craftsmanship and skills. I went through multiple companies for bids of windows. Zen was significantly cheaper than several, which actually concerned me more! On a previous house I had gone with cheap windows and regretted it almost immediately! I researched what manufacturer they used etc... Our installers arrived exactly on the day that was predetermined and began the process of installing 21 new windows in our house. Our home is over 125 years old and has many unique design features that we wanted to preserve and the installers had their work cut out for them. They were up to the challenge. Every window fit and was trimmed out beautifully. They were the ultimate professionals -knowledgeable, polite, interactive, and open to suggestions. Product is great, temperature difference in the house is amazing.Installation went very smooth, contractors were professional, cleaned daily, and got the job done well. Matt was very helpful and friendly to talk to. Had some problem with the window and he guided me over the phone on how to fix it and didnt charge for the time/advice provided. He mentioned that it should be a easy fix without having to buy any parts. The fact that Matt normally only do window replacement and not window repairs, but took the time to walk me through on fixing my problem without charge shows that he is genuinely kind and sincere in wanting to help others. We were having problems with a leaky egress window so called in Zen Windows to replace it. They were great! The other day we had our first hard rain from the east (which is when it leaked before) and to our relief, the new window didnt leak at all. Yippee!! This was a major purchase for my husband and I, as we were replacing every window in our house. From the very first interaction to the very last one, I only have positive things to say.We did a lot of research on different window companies and received quotes from Andersen, Pella, and Zen. Zens online process was by far the best experience as we didnt have to endure lengthly sales presentations like we did with Andersen and Pella. We had many questions for Matt and exchanged many phone calls and texts with him.He was upfront and honest with us regarding all different types of windows based on his lengthly experience in the industry. We ultimately choose Zen based on Matts second to none customer service, the quality of window they offer through their manufacturer partner, the qualification process they go through with their installers, and their competitive price.Once we went with Zen, they came out and measured our windows and we had to wait 8 weeks while our windows were custom built. Once they came in, Brian and his family installed all the windows in our house and did an amazing job. They were quick, cleaned up after themselves, and even answered questions we had about other areas of our house. Brian is truly an expert in his craft of installing windows. Tom did an amazing job matching the new trim; you cannot tell the difference in the new trim around the windows and oak finish of our kitchen cabinets and our baseboard trim. Dan finished a few of our windows as well and did a great job.Overall, we are thrilled with our new windows and would chose Zen again in a heartbeat.
