I booked a massage for today and it was great. My therapist Kirstie was very accommodating and made me feel comfortable. She found spots I didn’t even know were sore or needed attention. It was truly a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place. I was nervous when I booked that the mask policy would get in the way of me being able to relax, but it didn’t. It was a nice and relaxing afternoon.

I absolutely loved my experience here. The 60 minute signature massage incorporated hot stone massage and my choice of a exfoliating scrub or moisturizing mask for my back. This allowed me to experience hot stone massage for the first time. Everything was relaxing and Clay did a wonderful job working all my stress out!! I’ll definitely be going back. 💕

Very clean and calming. Would have found a welcome call helpful before my first visit. I was late because parking is behind the building. Also needed to arrive early to do paperwork and didnt allow for that so my massage time was reduced. The massage was very good and she responded to my preferences.

I have been going to the East Village Spa for three years now. I started going for issues related to whiplash. My massage therapist, Hannah, always does amazing work and listens to my needs and feedback. After our sessions, she also recommends stretches I can perform at home to ease my muscle pain. The front desk staff recognizes me by name, and I always feel welcome and calm when I step inside. The spa is dedicated to keeping an accepting, clean, and calming space.

They were so helpful with scheduling and gave the same level of care to my son, my niece, and my mom.

Jenn is amazing at what she does. Truly a natural. I am a hairstylist and an aerialist which means I’m very achy and tight but Jenn is very knowledgeable on what specific areas and muscles to work. She is sweet and caring and is always listening. She is very thorough during our consultations. Cassie, the owner of the spa, has background in massage. I’ve been told by many of her employees that she is a great person to work for and takes care of her team very well. All around an amazing small business with an upscale feel. If you are from Des Moines or just passing through, I would absolutely recommend scheduling an appointment!

I was scheduled a targeted massage by my partner. I had not had a targeted massage previously. This was a massage very specific to what I needed to feel better and holy cow did it work! I will have to return for another because the damage done was years ago and there were parts of the massage that were very painful. East Village Spa and Cyerra are my go to nail place. I receive compliments on my nail art all the time. Having my nails done is something Ive started treating myself too and Cyerra always makes it a fun and relaxing experience.

I dont typically write reviews, but East Village Spa really impressed me. Today was my first visit to East Village Spa, having received a massage as gift from my husband. Im lucky to be able to get massages regularly, mostly at boutique spas and luxury resorts, and I truly think my therapist, Trevor Grefe, gave me one of the best massages Ive ever had in my life. The spa is clean, and well equipped with delightful, professional staff. I will be returning regularly to Trevor, and couldnt recommend him or the East Village Spa highly enough!

First massage at this business and I have nothing but good things to say. I walked in with general aches and pains, back soreness and stiffness and walked out with what felt like a brand new body and smelled delicious from the farmhouse fresh products they use. I would definitely recommend and I will absolutely be back for more services and products!

This place is the only spa I know to require a mask FACE down. Not only does that significantly reduce breathing but is a huge medical issue for people with breathing conditions. To top it off if your service is ended due to that they still require you to pay for your full service vs what time you had.

I visited in August 2020. I had a great experience! I wore a mask the whole time, and Trevor, my massage therapist, regularly used hand sanitizer throughout. I visited to help my anxiety and the muscle tightness I have because of it. I felt better immediately! I definitely recommend.

Karen is fantastic. She makes sure I’m comfortable and does consistently amazing work on my back and shoulders. I had a shoulder injury that took several days and pain killers last year. Had a similar injury recently, mentioned it to Karen, and there was a huge improvement in recovery this time- without pain killers!I’ve hopped around for several years looking for a great place and person. My signature facial was so amazing. I didn’t want to leave because it was so relaxing. Cyerra was professional and fun to chat with. I felt like I was at a spa with a girlfriend. She educated me on all products that she used as she used them and gave me future recommendations on products for my skin so that I can achieve my personal skin goals. The hot stones were such a fabulous touch! I will be back!

I really appreciated their new safety measures. I also felt kinda panicky with a mask on in the head cradle but they worked with me to use an ice pack and I still had my massage safely and without feeling claustrophobic.

Ive been twice now and the experience has been wonderful and professional from start to finish. During check-in I was offered a beverage and they kindly took my coat and hung it up. I have had the R&R massage both times, and it is worth every penny. Camdine is who Ive booked both appointments with and I could rave about her all day! She takes the time to explain things, asks if I have any questions/concerns, and is all around kind. I purchased some essential oil roller sticks that I keep in my desk at work and theyre a great go-to when I need a little pick me up during the day.

This is a phenomenal spa! My husband I have gone for years and won’t go anywhere else! All the massage therapists are excellent! We’re currently seeing Conny and Hannah, and they are perfect! They know exactly how to help with out specific needs. My husband does the athletic massage, and it’s really helped him! I really love the signature massage. I treated myself to a hydrafacial at the beginning of the new year. I absolutely loved it. My esthetician was very friendly and made me feel comfortable the minute I met her.Afterwards my skin felt dewy and super soft. She chatted with me about some of the products she used during my facial.I ended up buying a cleanser and moisturizer which I love and plan on purchasing more of. I enjoyed my facial so much I booked to have another facial in a couple of months.Oh and did I mention the herbal tea they offer you when you check is? Its awesome.

Just got back from a great treatment with Alison and wanted to share with everyone some of the things that made it so great. I went in for a 2 feet deep 60 minute massage.What she did especially well;*she knows what her feet are doing and how it affects her client*she has good balance on the table and this results in smooth precise movements, no one likes a clumsy therapist especially when using a powerful tool like a foot*98% of the treatment was with her feet, you get what is in the massage description*she effectively worked the IT band and anterior section of my lower leg with her feet, that was a first for me!I am always looking to find folks who are the best at what they do, not because they are being paid to do it but because they want to be the best.It is my opinion that Alison wants to be the best at this and it shows in her treatment.

Justin did a great job with my massage! It was the best one I have received. He applied the perfect amount of pressure and made sure and checked with me often to see that I was doing well with it. He found spots that I didnt even realize were sore. It helped me immensely with stiffness and aches I have been dealing with in my neck and back. Got my first facial ever here while home for the holidays and opted for the Hydrafacial. Very neat experience! I came back the next day with a few questions about what I was experiencing afterwards as well as to swap a few products I had purchased, and the ladies up front were very patient and kind.

East Village Spa has always been the best spa in the area by far, and now their new location makes them even better. They offer so many services, and though I have only had three of these services, I eventually want to experience everything they offer. The hot stone massage is absolutely heavenly....soooo relaxing physically and mentally. The same is true of the facials they offer. I had a shellac pedicure almost a month ago and the polish still looks good!

It’s been my go to spot for pedicures, massage, and reflexology since I first walked into their original location in 2009.It’s both the people and the services that keep me coming back. Kelly and Molly at the front desk are always so friendly and helpful.Cyerra is my go to pedicure person. She does a beautiful job, gives a great foot/leg massage, and is a lot of fun.Jamie is my person for blissful foot reflexology/therapeutic massage. I always leave each session smarter because she is very knowledgeable about holistic approaches, so I’m always asking questions.Justin does fantastic massage, incorporating great stretches to really help alleviate stress and discomfort.Cassie, the owner, is fantastic, and really looks at customers as people. In fact, when my cat recently passed away, knowing what a huge animal lover I am, Cassie and the staff members made a donation to the ARL in my name and sent the loveliest card. That kind of thoughtfulness is not something you find everywhere, and it meant a lot to me.I highly recommend EV Day Spa!

Booking a massage online is not easy here. If you can call ahead and talk to a receptionist they can help you find a therapist who can meet your needs. Those people are busier than the rest so plan ahead, its hard to get on their schedules! The website doesnt really go over what everyone has studied but the receptionists can be helpful with that. Give yourself plenty of time to get there. On street parking is a pain, especially depending on the time of day to get there. (Their directions to their parking lot are confusing, I dont know if it actually exists lol) I always leave early and its always stressful finding parking and I just barely make it on time, or Im late. They are strict with the time on the table and their prices and cancellation policy are strict too. Be very specific about what you want worked on (and what you dont!)as they may not have time for everything you need. Ive had multiple people spend a lot of time on things I wasnt looking for and ended up not having time for areas that really needed work. If youre new to massage, they are great at giving you information, maybe theyll be a better fit for you than it was for me.

I loved this spa. I had been looking for a place for about a week. I am in town for work, and needed to relax. After looking at their reviews, I decided to book an appointment for a mani/pedi. The receptionists are very polite. As soon as you walk in, they greet you and offer water or tea. I only had to wait a couple of minutes before heading back to the nail room. The spa smells amazing! And the music they play is so relaxing. Desiree was my provider. She was amazing! She did a wonderful job on my nails, and my pedi was amazing. She was so polite and respectful. I would definitely recommend friends and family to this spa. It was such an amazing experience that I’m seriously thinking about making the 2+ hour drive to come back next month.

Ive recently been through the most stressful six months of my life, and the tension to prove it. Ive also had problems with my shoulder and neck off and on for the past couple of years. Last May, Justin was able to get me a few pain free months, so I decided to set another appointment last week. After asking if I had places that needed work on, he gave a great overall massage, plus he was able to work out my shoulder. A week later, and my shoulder is still painfree. Since I live in the burbs, the East Village is a bit of a drive, but worth every mile and extra minute spent in the car.

I had an appointment today with Jamee for cupping therapy. She incorporated other massage techniques during the session for a unique and personalized experience, and gave extra attention to areas that were troubling me. The rooms were warm, clean, and nicely furnished. This establishment is not one of those places that makes you wonder if it isnt a massage parlor facade with a human trafficking underbelly, so thats a plus. The other staff members I encountered were professional and very friendly. There was also a nice selection of products available in the front reception area. I got complimentary chocolate before I left and walked out feeling better than when I walked in. All in all a pleasant experience.

I moved to Des Moines almost two years ago. Trying to find a new massage therapist who would provide consistent care was very challenging. I have been a long time fan of a 90 minute deep tissue or sports therapy massage for many years now. Often I find that therapists services start out great but become inconsistent over time. I was thrilled to find Justin at the East Village Spa, which offers a number of therapists and services at a fair competitive price. Justin is a clients dream when it comes to finding a therapist who has a great intuitive awareness and understands basic body mechanics, especially for someone who is extremely physically active and truly needs therapeutic massages. The East Village Spa has a simple but clean environment. I have visited many spas where I felt like I was paying for the fancy spa atmosphere, at the East Village Spa I know Im paying for the quality of the services.

I love love love this spa. Every service is performed beautifully and professionally, and the products they use are natural and vegan and/cruelty free. Personally, my favorite esthetician is Lindsay, I recommend her for anyone looking for 5 star body treatments, but every one here will give you 5 star service. Im glad I found this spa.

ATTENTION ATHLETES (AND EVERYBODY ELSE) recovering from an injury or surgery: Hannah is a scar tissue-zapper!!! Ive been seeing her to address a two-month old AC joint separation as well as some pain-inducing trap recruitment issues in my other shoulder; she hits all the right spots and is super astute when it comes to the amount of pressure she uses. The front desk girls are always super inviting and efficient, and the environment at the spa definitely promotes relaxation. Dont let scar tissue jack up your mobility, people. Get it massaged out!! [oh, and drink lots of water and take epsom salt baths :)]
