The ice cream here is always so good, no matter whenever I come during any time of the year! The flavors are made fresh for the day and the scoops are generous. It’s a really good ice cream place and I don’t think there’s anything else to top it. There isn’t a lot of people at the place during some days so the wait isn’t long. It may look a bit stranded outside, all that matters is the ice cream. : D

A friend told us about this place for getting frozen custard and Im so glad she did. It was AMAZING! The staff were quick and friendly! They had a great selection whether you want it in a cup, as a sundae, and many choices for milkshakes!I ordered peach and cookies n cream in a cup, got so much more than I expected! Tasted so good! Edit: I am NO longer impressed. It was 9:52. We wanted two waffle cones. The guy at the window along with being incredibly rude, asked what we wanted and then chose yes chose two jr Oreo cheesecake scoops. I get we showed up close to the end, but the attitude of the young man at the counter just burned me. I work in customer service, I tip accordingly, and I support locally. Don’t expect customer to be polite when you’re not. The end. I sent a message about this and still haven’t heard back. Yes I’m being that Becky. I understand we are all tired, and customers now are worse than ever, but don’t treat all of us like we’re the bad guy. You will lose our business.I was so impressed with the friendliness and quality of service. The young lady who helped me and the two others who were with her, made the experience enjoyable And I was even more impressed with how polite they were. Kudos to you guys, I’ll tip like that every time if you give me a service like that every time.

Try the Lemon, its super good! Kiddo loved the German chocolate sundae and my puppy loved the pup cup. This is a staple of the Southside.We drove there, ordered, and got home within 30 min. We live about 3 miles away. Quicker than DQ, just saying. 😅

Very friendly service and got my frozen custard fairly quickly. Drive-thru line was pretty long but it was well worth the wait. Got the peanut butter malt shake, premium chocolate twister, and premium strawberry scoops. All of it were amazing! Cant believe it took me this long to check out the place. I highly recommend it!

The custard here is always amazing, the portion sizes are huge, and they are priced fairly. Yes, the building needs some TLC, but the service is always great and the food tops. We come back frequently. Its the closest thing to New York custard and our small town ice cream stands that Ive found since leaving Buffalo.

The custard is very good. Tiramisu flavor was excellent. Several other good flavors to.choose from. The venue could use some updating, but maybe that would take away the charm.

Ive always loved a chocolate marshmello shake from here but lately their prices have skyrocketed out of sight.

We showed up right before ten just planning on getting scoops of ice cream. Does not mess up their closing process what so ever. they told everyone in line at 10 that they had to get something off a certain menu. they helped everyone in line and were still helping drive through customers. When we got to the front of the line at around 10:10 they told us they were closed and we got there after ten. even though we didn’t. and the people in front of us in line knew too. We left watching all of the drive through people still ordering. We just wanted a few scoops out of the premade tubs of ice cream man. F this place. Good ice cream tho.

Stopped on the way home from pitching practice with my daughter and her friend. They were asked to choose between DQ, Wendys Frosties, and Wendys ice cream shop in Norwalk. Normally Wendys in Norwalk is the no-brainer but someone remembered the Classic Frozen Custard on SE 14th.A great choice! Id forgotten how much fun it was to sit and enjoy an oversized serving of coconut and espresso with the craziness of evening traffic whizzing by. The custard was delicious, the service quick and delightful, and reasonably priced for the four of us. I was pleased to see that a group of 15 or so young families had selected the place for a meet and greet birthday party for one of the kids. I love to see our old haunts becoming new memories for young families.It was a total error on my part to not include Classic Frozen Custard as a choice on our list and one i wont make again. Definitely stopping there again.One note.. this is across the street from the Uhaul that I reviewed last fall... might be worth the read if you can find it.

Overpriced but delicious, and way better than Culvers which is just up the road. I recommend that you buy a quart, rather than a single serving, to get more for your money.

Worst customer service experience of my life sat in like for TWENTY minutes just to be told they were supposedly closed when I said we had been sitting for said twenty minutes she yelled at me that I was a liar. Highly advise the manager of this place to train his employees better. Becuz honestly I wont be back due to how terrible I was treated.

This place has the ambience of an old time Dairy Queen, walk up order window and all. But, they serve frozen custard only, as many flavors as you can imagine. The prices seem a little high at first, but wait until you see the size of the scoops. Theyre huge! That and the variety of flavors more than justifies the cost. And remember, its not ice cream; its custard. Once youve been there, youll have no problem finding your way back!

Got a chocolate milkshake like 30 minutes ago just to reality in both mine and my moms custard there were chunks of strawberries in it but not enough to give it a flavor but enough that there were little red chunks in my shake. :(

Big portions and so yummy! Would be 5 stars if they would have given me a lid when I asked for one. I had to clean sticky mess off seat because of overflow. Was told I should have asked for a lid ahead of time so that they could give me less custard to accommodate a lid which does not make sense to me.

Really love this place but was disappointed this last Saturday. We live 25 miles away and stopped in to get a quart of lemon to enjoy at home. Put the container in the freezer still in the bag and when we pulled it out to eat on Monday night, it was to our disappointment that instead of lemon custard we were given carmel cashew. Yuck, do not like this kind at all. No choice but to throw it away. Lesson learned that we need to double check flavor before we leave.

Their Flavor of the Day is always good- - delicious! Though a little pricey. Try chocolate malt when you can! This is one of my favorite places here now.

I just had the worst experience. From the staffs customer service to their cleanliness. They aren’t taking any precautions for Covid, even after we should all be accustomed by now, I repeatedly saw employees wipe their mouths and nose and pick up the toppings to put on our ice cream. Gross, and when they handed over our ice cream it was a melted mess of gunk. Sorry but I won’t waste any money here anymore

This frozen custard is so creamy sweet and home made. They have tons of flavors and large portions.

Its a outside only and there is a drive thru if you dont want to stop. There serving are good size definitely dont get the two big ones unless you want to cramp for two days

We stopped after a day at the zoo and it hit the spot. I got the blackberry fudge shake and loved every bit of it.

I sneak here often for the hot fudge sundae or FudgeAnnas. They are the best Ive ever eaten. Slightly more expensive than other ice cream places but its worth it for the taste. And its not ice cream its custard. Custard is richer and thicker. Reminds me of homemade ice cream as a kid. This place definitely beats out Culvers custard, too. Try it. Youll be amazed.

Lemon is my favorite flavor. The custard is delicious and very creamy, the portions are huge so youll get your moneys worth for sure. The staff are always friendly. The only thing I can complain about is the drive through speaker is very old and hard to communicate with, but theyve never messed up our order so props to them.

Des Moines iconic South side custard mainstay is a true jewel of the city. Their rotating flavors feature such delicacies as caramel cashew, lemon, and mango. My personal favorite? Butterscotch. Im usually not huge on butterscotch, but their butterscotch custard is amazing. Ask for a sample at your next visit.

I love Classic Frozen Custard. They have many different flavors of custard and toppings. Prices are a little high but it also takes less custard to fill you up so you dont need to buy as big of sizes as you would a soft serve ice cream place.
