I got my conch pierced by Britt who was amazing! So professional, and went above and beyond, even helping me change out my other piercings. I would definitely go to her again. Piper helped us get the appointment and checked us in, and was also really great.

I just got my ears re-pierced here after the holes closed about 8 years. I passed out right at the end but the staff here were amazing and handled it extremely well, they knew exactly what to do to help me feel better and made sure I was okay before I left. The piercings were done well, not painful at all (my own fault for passing out since I hadnt eaten very much the last few days and should have known betyer). Honestly a very interesting and enjoyable experience despite the initial shock. I would definitely come here again if I get anything else done.

I have been to this Tattoo shop twice. Both times, the customer service was great. Friendly and easy to ask questions. I first came in on one of their Saturdays to do a same day tattoo appointment. I had an older gentleman who was kind and did a really great job making my olive branch tattoo look real. I love it— it healed really well and I would definitely go back for another tattoo. Second time I had a snug piercing fall out and simply needed a new earring and their assistance to help me put the earring in. The lady that helped me was super helpful and quick. Being I had the piercing for three years, they just had to simply put the earring in, she gave me the advice of a longer snug earring to give it more room being I was still have sensitivity with this piercing. I would definitely get a piercing here because of the customer service. Overall their pricing is fair, the atmosphere is bubbly, and they are great at what they do in my opinion.

I Love Gitchee Gumee! I’m 2019 I got my nose pierced at Gitchee Gumee and just yesterday I went and got my back tattooed! It was my first time getting a tattoo and I was super frightened seeing as no one was able to go along with me. My artist was amazingly supportive and helped distract me from the pain when it got a little worse! This was such a great experience and I will be going back to Gitchee Gumee for my next tattoo. Their rates are very affordable and the result is amazing!

My Piercers name was Brittany, she was super helpful giving her opinion on Which piercing I should get, as I was undecided. She pierced my septum and I was worried it was going to be very painful, she reassured me that it will only hurt for a minute and that if I take care of it and clean it properly the healing should be close to painless. I am now 3-4 weeks into the healing process and it doesn’t hurt at ALL. I have gotten my septum pierced before and ended up taking it out due to uncomfortable healing process and soreness. When Brittany redid the piercing years after, it healed very nicely. I couldn’t be happier with it.

This is a little hole in the wall spot that has the coolest, most honest, and KNOWLEDGEABLE people. Jason is working on my right arm to finish up a Japanese sleeve and the whole experience has been very pleasant. He works great with darker skin tones like mine. Jeremy just recently did a pentagram on my knee and made sure I was comfortable before starting *it hurt like hell* so I appreciated that. Ive gotten a few piercings too, all of which have healed nicely. Have definitely recommended all of my friends, family, and co-workers to go here!!

I got this tattoo back in July and since then I spent hours looking at it hoping it would heal and look better. I never thought a simple print of my cat could look so messy. The lady stretched my skin every which way on some of the tattoo and then not at all on other parts. I understand the need to stretch the skin but inconsistent stretching led to this. Half the time wasnt even looking at the tattoo as she was having a whole conversation with the artist next to her. I wish the $70 I spent on this TINY tattoo would mean it was worth showing off. But no, every time I show off my tattoo I get the same are you gonna fix it? Question. The third toe is the worst thing Ive ever seen and the main part of the paw is so uneven and so embarrassing to show off!

Ive gotten 3 piercings here so far and its absolutely the best piercing place Ive been to. The piercing lady is so sweet and amazing at her job. Shes really gentle and she is great at making you less nervous. Im definitely going to keep coming back here for my piercings. thanks to all the staff for being super awesome! I’ve gotten my helix, rook, and triple lobe piercings done here. I’ve come in multiple times when my piercings need a little help and there’s always someone willing to help me out, love that!I also got my first tattoo done here a couple months ago in July. I love my tattoo, but there are a couple small things I’d have touched up if possible. I can’t remember the artists name that tattooed me, but he seemed like he was very rushed/annoyed, which made me nervous considering it was my first tattoo.Overall, I’ve had a good experience here.

I’m not very impressed with the tattoo that I got last Saturday. The artist seemed to be in a rush. My tattoo is messy and has spots with thick lines and spots with thin lines. She did not cover the whole tattoo with a wrap afterwards, so I ended up just taking it off on the same day so that moisture would not get in. I did get a piercing as well, and the girl who did it was really nice and funny. I’d definitely go back for another piercing, but not a tattoo.

The girl who did my piercing was so nice, the front desk staff were very nice as well. i got a septum and they could tell i was a little nervous and came over with candy. the piercing is very nice, she took time to make sure it was the right size and it just looks so pretty. i want to get my belly button pierced and i will definitely be coming back to get it done. as soon as i turn 18 i will be getting my tattoos here as well!

My mother got a tattoo from there and the artist that did her tattoo completely messed up her tattoo. He did not listen to what she wanted or even payed attention to try to figure it out. The lines in her tatoo are uneven. The size of the tattoo is way bigger then she asked and it looks nothing like what she showed him. The placement of the tattoo was tincorrect and he was very rude to her. Not only that but he was very unprofessional during the whole thing. The name of the artist that did her tatoo was Jeremy and neither or the rest of my family will ever go back to that shop. It was the worst experience my mom has ever had getting a tattoo and she is very upset with how it looks.

Gitchee Gumee Tattoo is a must-stop for the Duluth tourist, or local. I’ve had countless tattoos done here, by every artist, and they always come out amazing. I really can not say enough amazing things about this establishment, the front desk ladies are always so warm and chipper. The artists are always so welcoming to ideas, they really know how to work with you. Not to mention the piercing counter is staffed with amazing, experienced piercers. The selection of specialty jewelry here is out of this world. I highly recommend the Saturday Same day appointments (they are similar to a walk-in). Overall if I could rate this place a 1000000/10 I would. Unfortunately, google only gives me 5 stars to rate off of. Do not be hesitant to stop in here for ANY service, they will not disappoint.

Omg! This place is amazing! Ive been getting migraines for years so I decided to get both of my daiths pierced because I had heard it helps for migraines. I REALLY wish I could remember her name... From my understanding theres only two girls that do piercings and I know she wasnt the one named Brittney. (Im sorry if youre reading this!) She was absolutely incredible. She was so calm and relaxed that it made me relaxed also. I was pretty worried that after the first one I might chicken out on the second one but she made it so easy I went through with both. I will definitely be going back here for tattoos and piercings for life. Before coming in I had had a severe migraine every day for 45 days straight that sometimes lasted all day, and now I have only had two minor migraines that lasted a few minutes, in almost ten days!

The example I provided a few weeks ahead of time was fully in color and there was shading the tattoo. The colors were blocky and like they slapped the color on. The artist seemed to be in a rush as well. The example was delicate and the outcome was like a blocky cartoon.

My girlfriend and I went in for a walk in and we are pretty disappointed. Combined we took less than an hour and paid $120 each, which I assume is Bonnies (the artist) minimum, but was still more than we expected. there were a couple small details missing from my piece and my girlfriends piece was missing a couple more substantial parts from the art, a curve on part of it is really messy, and her piece had linework that my regular artist described as unacceptable.

I came in as a walk in to get a second lobe and cartilage piercing. Everyone was so nice and welcoming! The piercing was done very quick and efficiently. I was put at ease just chatting with the person who was doing it (I cant remember her name, but I was the person who was talking about how I had too much caffiene and was really hyped! Hi!). Really a great experience, I hope to come back for a tattoo sometime. Great atmosphere and service!

I got my first tattoo here. Jeremy was great and super nice and that tattoo was amazing. I also had Patrick do a few butterflies on my arm and yet again I loved it. If you ever want AMAZING looking colored tattoos, Benny is phenomenal at his art. He did my boyfriends tattoo and it came out looking like a painting! Very talented and nice staff.

My boyfriend and I spontaneously wanted to go get tattoos, and this place accepts walk ins on saturday (the day we went) so we came here. It took about 4-5 hours of waiting but that was expected. They did an amazing job with our tattoos and the artists were very quick and fun to work with. The only reason for 4 stars is just not knowing at all how long we were going to be waiting. Otherwise, great experience!

Jeremy truly knocked my tattoo out of the park!! I lost my aunt about a year ago; we were pen pals and good friends. I wanted to get an envelope with a piece of her letter written in her handwriting. Jeremy is a true artist - he analyzed, measured, and very professionally created a work of art using my vision as a guide. Beyond that though, Jeremy is a great human being. His customer service is over the top (even helping people while simultaneously working with me) - no customer came in or left without being thanked for their business. Poor infection control!I went here because I had an issue with a newer cartilage piercing on a Sunday and my usual shop was closed. In hindsight I should have waited. The piercer who helped me was friendly but had poor infection control. She dropped my jewelry on the ground and did not change her gloves after picking it up, proceeding to put it into my (raw, inflamed) helix. I should have said something but I was too shocked that anyone would do that! 2 weeks later and I had to have my piercing removed due to an irritating infection and keloid formation.The owner flagged this review and stated this situation did not happen, but it did, and I stand my review.

Very uneven line work, tried to make an appointment, but said I couldn’t and to come in for walk in Saturday’s. This would be exactly why i wanted an appointment. Tattoo artist was very rude and only spent about 10 minutes on both my tattoos pushing very hard where a year and a half has gone by and it’s still raised. I wasn’t planning on making a review but I wanted people to see this so they know what they’re getting into going here. These would be very hard to touch up as well without thickening lines if anything I might need to cover them up at a different place.

I got tattoo work done by Jason that turned out fantastic. He is a very talented artist, and if there is anyone in Duluth to trust your skin to its him. He will make sure you get a tattoo that is going to look good on your body for years to come taking size and design into account. He definitely has a lot of experience under his belt and knows what he is talking about. If you want something unique he will work with you to find the perfect piece with his exceptional drawing skills. Ive been getting tattoos since the day I turned 18. This was hands-down the best tattoo shop Ive ever been to. All of the artists are so kind and definitely care about what they do! I wanted to change out my septum for the first time since getting it pierced 5 months ago, and i had some jewelry that i bought beforehand that i wanted to put in. i went here instead of my original piercer because my original piercer wasnt available before i was leaving town. i called ahead to do a walk-in and they said they could help me. i had a captive bead ring and as soon as the one woman started stretching it all the way out.. i was a little skeptical but the whole reason i came into a shop to have this done was because i figured they would know what they were doing. she had a bit of trouble getting it in my nose and then when she tried closing it again, the pliers slipped and hit me in the face. and my nose started bleeding. then the (i assume) more experienced piercer came in and said that it would be super difficult to do the captive now that they ring was bent, which i figured when the first woman started bending it. then she shattered the bead to the captive, which honestly it could have been cheap, i dont know. they had me pick out one of their clickers and gave me half off since she broke my other one. they got the clicker in pretty easily then and i was on my way. i think this place can be nice. and the piercers who helped me seemed like nice people and were patient but i was hoping that they would be a little more confident with the jewelry, so i ended up leaving with something i probably could have put in myself.tldr: the piercers were nice and patient but dont have the same confidence/experience as some other piercers ive seen in duluth

The place looks awesome on the inside. The staff is absolutely amazing. They walk you through what they are doing and make sure you are comfortable. They are reasonable and fair with prices and are honest about what to avoid when getting a tattoo. They also have great service, i called two other tattoo shops, both of which didnt answer. But they answered right away and were very helpful. I would highly recommend this shop if you are looking to get a tattoo or piercing.

My artist couldnt draw a straight line, and its very obvious on my small tattoo. I got a walk in here and was tattooed by a young bald guy (or just shaved head? I couldnt tell). I asked for line work based off a picture i had and he kept trying to give me something that looked completely different until he ended up just tracing the picture I had. Probably should have done that in the first place, but even then it ended up looking jacked up. He also seemed like he was either new to tattooing or just not in the right headspace to be tattooing people (sweaty, tired, didnt talk much, etc.). They seemed busy that day so I get if he was worn out, but it sucks that I got a bad tattoo out of it.

Such a friendly staff! Everyone there is so cool. All the artists are super easy and fun to work with and super talented in their own ways! All around great experience!

This was a welcoming helpful medically sterilized shop. I received two piercings. I came in on a Saturday, which was a walk-in friendly day. I called ahead and the person in the phone was considerate and informative.I walked in nervous and the entire shop staff was welcoming and made me feel at ease. The piercer gave me the option to allow the apprentice to do my piercings or not. I chose the apprentice because it was less expensive, everyone needs to learn, and the piercer assured me she would be guiding her the entire time,(she did that and then some).They made me feel comfortable and safe durring some intimate piercings. They answered all my questions and spent extra time on the important details.As a medical professional I also noticed that all of their equipment was medically sterilized.The trainer made sure the apprentice was exact to the millimeter and communicated well throughout the entire appointmentOverall it was a wonderful professional experience. I will go back for any of my piercings as well as tattoos.

We went on a Saturday and it was crazy busy but they were so organized and very helpful. Love my tattoo, my daughter already wants to go back and we dont even live in Duluth we are from Minneapolis, awesome job!!!!!

As someone who doesn’t handle needles well, my experience of getting my ears pierced was a little rocky. The ENIRE staff was so great in making sure I was good. They all offered me water, candy, or even their own danish. Thank you all! We will be back! (Even of needles are the worst)

I’ve heard this is a really great place to have piercings, but my experience wasn’t that great. I found out after my piercing that I was pierced by an apprentice, but no one was supervising her. She was very quiet and so didn’t really understand what she was saying honestly. She also pierced my ears while I was in the middle of talking, so my piercings are a little lopsided. I was told I could change earrings after a month, but when I tried changing them I knew right away that was not a good choice. Would love to try again with a different piercer. I’ve heard many great reviews.Update: I went back for a walk in tattoo on a Saturday and wanted to give the place another chance. I had already called ahead to get all the information I needed then I came in after work. The women at the front desk were rude, unprofessional, and extremely unhelpful. I wanted to make an appointment for a tattoo instead and I was told I would have to call. I’ve only ever heard wonderful things about the shop, which is why I decided to go here. If you aren’t talking to Jason or Kayla (I’ve heard they’re the best) I honestly wouldn’t bother. Beyond upset at the lack of customer service.

I had gotten my rook piercing done here about a year ago and a ton of my family has too. I always recommend them to people they’re super friendly and genuine. My bottom screw on my piercing had fallen out and so I came back and Brittany had helped me pick out a new one and put it in for me, she was super nice definitely going to get my next piercings done here :)

Had a great experience! Jason did amazing on my tattoo and definitely made it come to life. I had something pictured in my head and he gave me his professional advice and it turned out beautiful. I did sit for a while and almost passed out at the end because it became too much. Staff got me some candy and even ran to the store to get me a donut. Jason also has great bedside manners. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Britney knocked out a quality Ear Piercing super fast. She’s dope. 10/10 would get pierced again.ANNNDDDDD she even said she’d listen to my music, super cool chill vibe and cool ppl. Thinking about just going to hangout there now for fun maybe 🤷‍♂️

We had a fantastic experience here. Our artist, Jeremy, was quick and thorough, and very friendly! This was my third tattoo and absolutely the best experience Ive had so far. I honestly wish I could give this place 10 stars.

I would highly recommend Gitchi Gummi. Jason and all of the staff were outstanding—it was my first tat, and he walked me through everything and gave me great feedback on what I wanted based on his experience. I’ll def go back.
