The Sherwin-Williams in Duluth made it so easy to make choices for redecorating my grandsons room. The young man that helped me was knowledgeable, polite, and thoughtful. The shopping experience was quick and efficient . The store was extremely clean and sanitizers available. I highly recommend them.

When the color did not match well, store employee, Dan told me I still have to pay for the first non matching color paint if I want him to try again. He thinks color matches but they are in different tones. Flat vs Egg shell. He exactly knew what the problem was but he did not want to correct it. That is not kind of the service I usually get from Sherwin- Williams.

I’d like to start this by saying I have truly never in my life written a complaint about a customer service experience from anywhere I’ve been until now. I spent years working in retail and I am now a nurse, so I completely understand the frustrations and exhaustion that comes with such a job. It can be very difficult interacting with many different personalities and temperaments while also trying to keep a smile on your face. However, I feel this feedback is important due to the honest shock and upset I felt with the interaction I had at the #2205 Sherwin Williams at 3931 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. Duluth, GA 30096. Upon coming into the store on Sunday 11/17/19 @ noon nobody was there except one man going through boxes. I thought he was an employee unloading inventory because he was going between shelves and back to the cart. The other person was an employee named Paige, who was coming in and out of the back with lots of boxes. Again, I thought it was inventory from a shipment being unloaded (which from previous retail experience frequently happens on Sundays). There was no greeting when she came in and out of the back so I figured she was busy at that moment. However, after waiting about 15 minutes at the counter and watching her go in and out with not one word I said “Excuse me, may I get some help?” She abruptly stopped, glared at me, and I was met with a sigh, an eye roll, and an extremely rude/aggressive response—“I’m helping somebody else right now! You can see that, right?!” My reply was a very shocked “No...” and she scoffed off again going in and out. I did not realize the man was a customer until she started ringing his purchase up. I’m sorry there was confusion, but even so that should never warrant the reaction I was met with. From all of my years in retail and now in healthcare I have never received such a horrible interaction with a stranger. I quickly got my paint and left without a word because I feel that this experience was much bigger than anything I could have said to her before leaving. I highly encourage a conversation or retraining of sorts because it should never happen to anyone else. A greeting of “Hi welcome in! I’m helping a customer right now, but will be with you in a moment” would have been extremely helpful and should be done regardless and in any situation whether there’s 30 people in the store or 1. I’m truly disappointed with the experience and will not be returning to this location solely due to the reception I received. It’s humiliating and alarming to quite literally get yelled at for simply asking for some help. I’m sure losing one customer won’t hurt sales, but that’s not what this is about. I prefer not to be treated with such a lack of kindness and respect whether I’m on the employee side or the consumer’s. It’s extremely inappropriate and not what the world needs.

Had a paint that I tried to get Home Depot to Match multiple times and they could just not do it. Reluctantly came here to see if they could do better. They got a perfect match on the first try. The staff was also extremely nice and helpful. The prices might be a little higher than some other stores but I feel in this case you get what you pay for. Will definitely be coming here for all my paint needs from now on.

My concern was the store coupons for 40% off and $10 off a $50 purchase were not honored accurately. Both the email and coupons clearly state they could be combined, and both appeared on the receipt, however only the 40% off reflected in the total. The store associate agreed both should have reduced the final amount, but did not. Had I known they would not be honored as expected, I would not have chosen to purchase my paint from Sherwin-Williams.

I love Sherwin Williams paint, and I love this location. The employees are amazing to work with. They are helpful and willingly answer questions, and they always carry my paint to the car. I couldnt be more impressed with the customer service I receive at this location!

I had the misfortune of interacting with the manager of this store. I know he was the manager because he was very cheery with telling the person in front of me, but then when it was my turn, he stated there was paint he needed to get ready. So I waited. I waited while he talked to someone else. I waited while he called another store. I waited 15 long minutes, where he never even asked what I even needed.When I finally got service, I stated clearly that I needed concrete stain and handed him a sample color. He asked a few questions and then asked what the concrete stain was for, and I said a concrete countertop. And that’s where it gets complicated, because that stopped him dead in his tracks. He could NOT get over the fact it was going on a countertop because “no one had ever said they were using stain for that before.” Every other question or comment circled back to it going on a countertop in a negative way and it got uncomfortable FAST. For example, did I want water-based or oil-based because he cannot recommend either because it’s going on a countertop. Then after another 5-10 minutes, he states he cannot match the color. It MIGHT be close, but not perfect. “Okay how close,” I ask? He cannot tell me unless I buy the paint. “Wait, I have to buy something you cannot match to see how close it can get?” He goes on about how difficult it is to match any dark colors and even shows me the computer system. I honestly would have purchased it, except AGAIN, he starts talking about it going on a countertop. I go off about what I do with paint is my business NOT HIS, so stop talking about it… and he DOESN’T! I stormed out. He tried to say he did everything he could and I said, “Except be professional!” What an absolute jerk. What if I buy paint and store it for 30 years. What I buy paint and drink it. Its not any of his business what I do with paint once purchased. If I misuse paint that is my problem not his. His ONLY business is selling paint... and he sucks at doing that! Shop at your own risk!

2 stars because I have never had problems with the paint or their products, but I despise going to this location because there is a young lady who always has a bad attitude and gets irritated If I ask any questions and she just makes me try to avoid this location as much as possible.

John the manager is exceptional. Leads thru ppl ersonal example on how to care and serve customers, both big and small. The staff is always friendly, willing to help, and well trained and educated on all SW products. We are loyal and will pass a number of stores to shop at this store.
