Great food and awesome desserts. I am super picky about how I rate food so if I give a place more than 3 stars you know it is pretty darn good. The people who own it are absolutely lovely people who always make you feel like youve been friends forever. They super genuine people. The prices are great and the portions are generous. This became one of our favorite places at our first visit.

Ive been looking for a good local Greek restaurant and stumbled across this one. Gave it a shot and was very impressed. My wife and I ordered the chicken souvlaki plates and the portion sizes were huge. We probably couldve shared one as each came with 2 skewers with large chunks of chicken, a huge portion of rice, a side Greek Salad and our choice of dessert. Aside from the sizes, the chicken and rice were cooked to perfection and the tzatziki was delicious. I wasnt a huge fan of the dressing for the salad but it wasnt bad it was just not as tasty as some Ive had from other Greek restaurants and seemed to be more of just an oil and vinegar blend. My kids got the kids cheeseburger meals and there was nothing kid sized about the burger or the fries. They both loved their meals. The desserts were insanely good as well. We chose a slice of carrot cake and a slice of chocolate mousse cake The people who own the restaurant seemed very nice and caring. If you are looking to eat there only a few tables are available but this is a great place to get takeout. I took some photos of the latest menu as well because the latest I saw online had outdated info/prices. Glad to support a local business with good people and I would highly recommend this place. Ill be back to try more from the menu very soon.

Being Greek myself I can assure you the Big Greek is the best in the area! Aside from great greek food, Dimitri is also a top notch baker! You need to try his pastries as they are to die for.

One of the most delicious and, more importantly, fresh food you can find. They seem to be a small, family-run restaurant run by a Greek cook. The portions are big and the prices are quite fair and reasonable. What makes the experience even more delightful is the pleasant, friendly, and kind demeanor of the owner and his staff working there. If a 5-star is to be awarded to a restaurant, it is for this one.

Huge gyro! Added feta and it was a very generous amount. The tzatziki was delicious and the fries were somehow the best restaurant fries I think Ive ever had, theyre super crispy! Desserts look to die for, will return!

OMG! Please visit this little restaurant. Indulge yourself with some chicken slouvaki and wrap up with (out of this world!) Baklava Custard. All super fresh and flavourful!

It is a small store with 1 4-seater and 2 to 3 2-seater tables inside. There are some outdoor tables too. The food is delicious. The restaurant is ran by a husband and wife. We went for dinner and it was just the two of them so the wait for the food was long BUT in our opinion the wait was WORTH IT! The prices are reasonable for the portions they give you. The wife was manning the front while the husband was in the back cooking. The wife is super nice. Their desserts are really good too. My family would rather go there for greek food than drive all the way to Tarpon Springs. We will definitely be back.

Walked in after being almost a year since the last visit and was greeted with big smiles and hellos! They treat you like family here. The portions are big and the prices reasonable. We stayed in town a week and ate there 3 times. It’s that good. Not just desserts and coffee here, they also bake bread and have Greek entrees. Can’t wait to eat there again!

First time going here was today. The staff was unbelievably nice and helpful. The food was amazing and best baklava Ive ever had, and Ive tried many. This was the first of many visits to come. I love to support local businesss!!!

YES, THE FOOD LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE PICTURES. A little place with a lot of Great food. They dont skimp on quality or quantity. Price is right!Dont even get me started on the desserts. My husband goes every week for his fav but someone keeps buying. It all. I think mama needs to make another pan of the alaktubuti (the spelling may be off, I just call it (alotabootycall) Im not Greek bit he is and he doesnt give any restaurant a second chance, one bad meal and move on. That says a lot!Keep up the good quality and TLC you put in your food. Its the best!

Amazing people with delectable, authentic, fresh Greek food! I love in pinellas and on my lunch break I tried a different Greek place everyday for a week. Freshly made, delicious and great value. We discovered this little gem of a restaurant. Owner Demitrius freshly bakes pasteries, breads and all the authentic Greek foods. The gyro $6.99 was stuffed with tasty gyro meat, onions,tomatoes and taziki ( very generous portions). His wife Dishera is a great host. She is very cordial and explains what each food is and how its made. We shared a piece of lemon custard pie which was light and airy and oh so good. Now us Dunedin residents dont have to go to Tarpon Springs for authentic Greek food and pasteries. The Big Greek is tucked away in the Winn Dixie shopping center, corner of Main and CR 1 Dunedin.

This place was so good! The couple that runs it were super nice and informative with everything. We got the platter and there was soooo much food! Everything was seasoned well and so tasty! Their desserts all looked amazing and the couple we had were so good! I would recommend this place and hopefully one day well be able to go back!

As a private chef whos been to Greece a few times and currently resides in Tarpon Springs aka: the Greek capital of Florida (if not the southeast!), I wholeheartedly encourage you to run, not walk, to Big Greek Gyros and Bakery! Absolutely the best Greek salad Ive had in ages (and a million times better than Hellas which while still good, is just not anywhere near same realm of deliciousness!) ... Cant wait to return to try some other offerings. Bonus points for the lovely gal at the counter and easy parking.

The family that owns this restaurant is so kind hearted and we love their food! They will custom make my salad just for my dietary restrictions and the portions are huge! My boyfriend loves the wraps and gyro pita, and of course dont leave without picking up a baked good - so delicious! Picked up a cheesecake for a friends birthday last night and it was perfect.

Each time I come here it is a blessing to be welcomed so kindly, and eat the greatest food and dessert. The baked goods are made fresh daily as well as the food. Wow! What a treat that we dont have to drive to tarpon springs to get delicious authentic Greek food! We ordered the chicken souvlaki platter and two kids burgers and they were more then we expect it! The servings are huge, the ziki sauce is delicious (and huge, I ordered extra thinking I wouldnt have enough but I didnt realize how big of a container they give you) My kids couldnt finish the huge burgers and my husband and I decided to share the salad and save the other salad that comes with the platter for tomorrow. We are more than full and have dinner for tomorrow night! Were so stuffed that we dont even have enough room to eat the delicious dessert that came with it. I did try a couple bites of the cheesecake, which is probably the best cheesecake Ive ever tried. The owner makes it homemade there. Which leads me to the fact that the owners a husband and wife are so kind and generous! It seems that they put their heart and soul into this place. We will definitely be back again and we will tell all of our friends about this Dunedin gem!

I am very much a fan of gyros and always have to go to Tarpon Springs to get a delicious, authentic gyro until i tried this place tonight. This is by far the best gyro Ive had! I am very excited to have such a pleasant, friendly family ran business like this in my neighborhood with DELICIOUS food! I also got a brownie for dessert which was such the guilty pleasure! Please, do yourself a favor and try this restaurant, i promise, you wont be disappointed with the entire experience and taste!

I felt like eating something different than my everyday food so I stopped in at Big Greek gyros. I decided to try their gyros. I have had them before different places and it sounded good. Oh my gosh! Best gyros I have ever eaten. Meat was spiced just right, nice big sandwich, loved the tzatziki sauce thin sliced onion and tomato was just perfect and wrapped easy for me to eat without getting messy.The baked goods looked really good but I was trying to be good and skip the sweet stuff, but I decided to get a slice of cheese cake and take it home for the next day. Today is that day and I ate the 2nd half of my sandwich (too much for me to finish yesterday) and pulled out the cheese cake. Very generous slice and oh so good. Creamy and dreamy best cheese cake Ive ever eaten. Diffantly my go to place for both cheese cake and gyros.Very happy tummy!

Gotta agree with the consensus of reviewers here-- very good standard Greek food, generous portions, good prices, and the hostess is very gracious. A find to be sure. Just 1 table or 2...meant for takeout. A hole in te wall space. Service was prompt. Will come back next time we are in the area.

The service was stunning as well, Dashira was working and she was a delight. Also tried a few things from the bakery that were great! If you like Greek food, this is fantastic!!! The gyros and Greek salads are better than any in Tarpon Springs! Everything is made fresh, even the desserts are made in house! We were so happy to taste that this is AUTHENTIC amazing Greek food!!! We went in last night. Had the gyro which is HUGE, tomatoes were fresh, and the potato salad was PERFECT! As soon as we got home my roommate saw our food and had to get some for herself. We will be back! Thank you!
