The previous reviews were right - simple menu, but man do they do it well! I ordered a croissant with bacon, eggs, and cheese, as well as the breakfast potatoes. Both were delicious. My partner ordered the Cuban and he was pleased. We each had coffee and a mimosa (made with pineapple juice). We were able to sit anywhere, and were served very quickly. It was such a pretty Sunday and the service was equally notable. Our server Cat was the sweetest! So knowledgeable and so energetic. She was always available to replenish what we needed. She even recommended places for us to jet ski and the best beaches to visit while on our stay. There are so many great places to eat in the area, and this cafe should definitely make the list.

Enjoyed a nice breakfast and found some artistic and reasonably priced gifts. Nice atmosphere with prompt and pleasant service.

Cute coffee shop in the middle of downtown Dunedin. Indoor and outdoor seating. They had coffee, tea, pastries, and sandwiches I think? The whole place has a nice environment and I had a great time here!

Went to lunch here on a shopping trip with friends. All 3 of us were very pleasantly surprised that our sandwiches were so good. Service was superb, atmosphere was comfortable and well definitely be back.

Great place. Food was great coffee strong and hot. We loved to sit in the yard with our dog. Service was fast and friendly. They even brought water for our dog.Only thing is the heat. Some outdoors fans would be great

I am bummed I don’t live here because this coffee shop would put a hole in my wallet. Fantastic lattes and a cute little shop with all kinds of beachy little trinkets. We did not try their breakfast but one day we will be back. Also the servers are friendly and helpful.

I absolutely love their Nutella Lattes💜☕️ I come every Monday on my day off just to sit and enjoy one. Dave makes them the best! I love the outdoor dining area and just the overall atmosphere of this place.

What a great place, the sandwiches are amazing and they definitely give you more bang for your buck, I had a ham and cheese on sourdough and the stacked the meat and my wife had a Cuban which was to die for ! Definitely check this place out

This place was a pleasant surprise! My husband brought me here for breakfast before our busy day. Its a relaxing atmosphere to sit out on the patio and enjoy your breakfast. I love omelettes and they make yummies ones! Im excited to go back again!

The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great and matches the area. Decoration makes you feel right at a beach home.

This is more than a coffee restaurant. They will serve you a meal for lunch or breakfast. They have pastries and what nots.. all at a reasonable price. Dont let the porch which is often packed with people deceive you. There is seating on the inside and along the exterior of the building. The service is welcoming and the pastries were delicious.

We stopped in here for lunch. A quaint, little Cafe on Douglas Avenue Downtown Dunedin Florida. Has in or outside dining, outside is Dog friendly. Has a variety of menu choices. I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger and Citrus Coleslaw was good. The server and serivce was good.

I really wanted to like this place! Its cute and the staff are super friendly. The coffee is pretty good. We had two breakfast skillets and they were just super disappointing. I dont think that the chef had given any thought to presentation, it was just a bunch of stuff slapped onto a cardboard plate with an egg on top. Also the skillets are one of the most expensive things on the menu, but theyre really small and dont come with toast or any sides. For some potatoes, onions, peppers and mushrooms it was completely overpriced.

Most undercooked Omelet Ive ever had. Service was terribly slow.Edit: Did not finish meal, runny yolks are ok, runny egg whites are not. Server didnt ask how meal was and was too busy with other tables to care. This restaurant clearly cannot handle the number of tables they seat, couple that with an owner that responds with attitude and this results in a recipe to avoid.

My Wife and I stop at the Sandpiper every time we stay in Dunedin. They have great croissant breakfast sandwiches. Nice people and great service.Only complaint I have is that yesterday we stopped by and ordered 2 mocha lattes with whipped cream. They came in 12oz cups that were half full of coffee and half whipped cream. So, for $10.50 we maybe got 12oz of coffee combined. We expected more for that kind of price.

Excellent overall great breakfast good portion size outdoor and indoor seating quaint but comfortable excellent quality full coffee bar beer and wine too. Ask for Julia awedome server.

If I could give them 10 stars I would ! Coffee was great and so was our meal ! I didn’t even need salt, pepper, ketchup or hot sauce on it. The breakfast was one of the top 5 I’ve ever had.

The wait staff was wonderful and the decor both outside and inside is beautiful. But the breakfast was so underwhelming that I am amazed that they have such good ratings. Their breakfast potatoes are burnt mushy red potatoes; I asked for onions to be included on mine and I got limp sautéed red onions to make it all mushier. The $13 BMT Omelet was less compelling than something from Waffle House. And then the toast - I got rye - it was one piece of super thin rye toast cut diagonally. Not 2 thick robust pieces like a foo foo place like this might be expected to have. My wife got a sausage ham spinach and cheese on croissant sandwich which was okay. We both got a small section of orange on our plates...

Good food, great coffee!

Ive been coming here for years, mainly because of the solid food, great coffee, friendly owners and cute indoor and outdoor seating. They have a good sized outdoor area out back, which is great for Covid, because its never too crowded and everyone is spaced out nicely! My go-to is their breakfast Cuban, which is on a yummy croissant.

This is a fabulous place. Food and coffee are tremendous. Outdoor seating is great, replete with owls. Every time I visit the area, we end up going to the Sandpiper multiple times. Somebody said the owner seems a little stressed out at times and unable to chat. Yeah, its called running a restaurant with a fair amount of seating out of a small kitchen. When it rains, it pours, and he ends up having to figure out everything from sitting, to clearing tables, to getting people to-go cups for iced coffee, all the while trying to remain friendly and chatting it up with the guests...it just gets to be a lot.

I loved everything about this eatery but especially the service which really stood out!! Very pleasant and helpful waitstaff.. We ate outside on the terrace so that we could enjoy the sunshine, so I cant speak on what the inside was like. My entire family enjoyed having our breakfast here.

I never walked into a restaurant and was treated the way I was treated by the owner DAVID to the point that the young lady (server)standing there stepped out with me and Apologized for how rude he was And told me to have a good day.... with all the other establishments around here to enjoy I would be a little more kinder to your locals who wants to support and enjoy ...!!!! Recently had lunch with a friend at the Sandpiper (on Douglas St.) and enjoyed the Beef on Wick. That dish is a very popular meal in western New York State (not from that area, but when traveling through I always enjoy it). The Sandpiper does it right. The servers are always pleasant and efficient.This is a great place to meet a friend for coffee/tea or breakfast. The lunches are delicious, too. Dave, the owner is always on hand to engage you in friendly conversation and to make sure everything is to your satisfaction.

The coffee and chai latte were pretty good. The baked goods were just ok. The Apple cake was very soft but tasty. The cinnamon scone was dry and dense- we didn’t finish it. Nice vibe, good outdoor seating.

This is the first time in years that I have gone to a public restaurant where the eggs were cooked properly—griddle was not too hot to make the eggs rubbery. Eggs were tender; imagine that. Way overpriced on the coffee drinks. They dont know how to properly make a latte. The outcome was the equivalent of a drink from a hotel or gas station auto cappuccino machine. A 12 oz. latte cost 4.50!

A gem for a cup of joe and something for breakfast to start your day off right. Interesting gift shop mingled within the indoor seating area, and during the pandemic plenty of outdoor seating too. Close to the Pinellas Trail if biking or walking, and next door to the weekend farmers market.

I was famished after a spirited bike ride and an hour of energetic country line dance lessons at the Dunedin Senior Center. I hankered for a good breakfast. So I cranked up my TripAdvisor app to search for the best breakfast in Dunedin. Within seconds, Bingo! The Sandpiper at 833 Douglas Dunedin popped up as number one.Off I went. The Sanpiper resides in a beautifully repurposed old cottage. My kind of place.I decided to splurge and ordered the eggs Benedict. I expected the usual hockey puck muffin you have to cut with a steak knife; drowned with hollandaise from a can.Not here.The muffin was perfectly toasted. My fork knifed thru effortlessly. The eggs perched atop, dusted with a flavorful spice could not be poached better. The orange hollandaise was outstanding. Rich and creamy, it looked and tasted like a melted orange creamsicle. My only complaint was I enjoyed the muffin and eggs so much I was left with a tantalizing puddle of hollandaise and nothing to sop it up with. I was tempted to lean in and lick it up like my dog. But, the Sandpiper is too nice a place to get thrown out of.

Service was unbelievably slow and not good. Waited 20 minutes for someone to wait on us. The food took a hour to come out. I will say though that the food was good.

Ive been here 3 times and the same (blonde, heavy set) waitress has waited on us. Awful waitress food is ok but that woman does not want to be here and super slow.. Thankfully the other waitress gave us our food, silverware, 2nd coffee and check. I would not recommend it.

Such a cute and friendly place to stop at for a bite to eat! I got the eggplant sandwich, which was delicious! As was the iced coffee. I love the decor; it adds such character! Close to the Pinellas trail, so you can bike or walk there, and there is a bike rack to lock up.

There were healthy options for those of us that wanted something healthier. The menu seemed to fit everybody’s taste! Service was quick and good! Would definitely go back! 🙂

This place had very good food. I had an omelette and breakfast potatoes. They were both very good and the omelette was just the right size, not so large that I had to take half of it home. Its a small, but very charming place, with a lot of outdoor seating. There are a lot of cute/cool gift items. Im definitely going back!

Stopped here on a hot day, while waiting for my car to be repaired at a local shop. Had a roast beef sandwich & a Stella, & sat on the porch & conversed with the locals. Will definitely return.

The coffee and the food are delicious and reasonably priced especially considering how great it is. The atmosphere is relaxing and conducive for studying or working. David is the owner and is there almost every day. Hes so friendly and kind, he alone is worth visiting! Overall, everything is wonderful!

Super cool coffee shop right off main st. near the water in Dunedin. Parking is plentiful and the owner is extremely friendly. Hell even sit down and chat with you if it isnt too busy at the time. Besides the freshly roasted house blend of coffee, there are fresh pastries and sandwiches to enjoy. Also, if you have the time, you can peruse the many antiques that adorn the walls (some of which are for sale!)

The black coffee (columbian/Brazil roasted beans) was very tasty. No need to add sugar or cream.The cafe burger (cooked medium) was also tasty. Generous size in relation to price.The hummus with nan as an appetizer was also very tasty.Track this place down and you will be glad that you did. Two thumbs up. Perfect!! Its unusual to find a place w/ outdoor seating where the tables are actually Clean - look clean, feel clean! That was my first sign - their tables were clean. They had the wifi-password on the table, nice. The server I had on this particular Sat morning was the sweetest server ever and did a fantastic job. The prices were really reasonable. The food was excellent. The iced lattes were so Delicious. And I didnt get a straw (which is excellent in my opinion for environmental reasons.) The music was soft. The birds were chirping. The other customers were friendly and chatted with me. I had a Perfect morning at Sandpiper. I went back the next morning and it was the same - Perfect. Love, Love Love it!!!

We love this place. They have steadily become a better and better refuge from crowded breakfast restaurants in the area. Latte and espresso drinks are terrific, and lots of made-to-order hot breakfasts as well as pastries. The owner and staff are friendly and the service is fast.

Happy to have found a local roaster!! We go there for all of our cold brew and French press ground needs. We havent had a chance to eat breakfast there yet, but we look forward to going back.

Awesome little restaurant with awesome people working there. I have to be honest I must go there at least 3 to 4 times a week at one time. Very healthy fresh food, great omelettes fantastic sandwiches. They grind their own coffee which is amazing and ice cold beer as well...if youre looking for a quaint little place in Dunedin to sit and watch the activities this is a place for you. We come here at least once a week because of the great food, customer service, and atmosphere. Coffee of course is fantastic! This is our favorite place to come in the morning before work. Its so super cute inside and out! Must go as a different approach to Downtown Dunedin.

What can I say? Dave is a hell of a guy. His food is spectacular and the service is great. The atmosphere inside of the cafe is very interesting. The coffee is ground in house and the tea on ice is a wonderful treat for a hot day. Any time Im in Dunedin I have to stop in and grab a Cuban. GET THE CUBAN! Its Soo freaking good. I told Dave to surprise me one day and he brings me the best damn Cuban Ive ever had. Over all the place is a 10/10. Hygiene, service and quality.

Sandpiper Cafe has such an awesome vibe! I really enjoy the outdoor seating to catch up on a few emails at lunch. They always have yummy gluten-free & dairy-free friendly options. The staff is very friendly. I always look forward to a meal & latte at Sandpiper Cafe.

Sandpiper is one of those small places that locals love and visitors rarely see. Great coffee, great sandwiches, good selection of beer, and the owner, David is there daily to greet the customers. They have the cutest little gift shop too! Definitely recommend it!

My daughter and I stopped in and were very happy with our visit. The ambiance is beachy and fun and the service was great. We both got croissant sandwiches with fruit and they were good. You dont get a lot of fruit, but at least it wasnt melon. I got the chai latte which was very good and she got a mocha and also liked it a lot. We would definitely come back.

I LOVE this place....best food, lots of character...very comfortable...Karen and David have done a fabulous job! and the coffee isnt bad either :P We had their server Hannah...found out she works on the weekends making extra for school!!! Go see her and she will take the BEST care of you! You wont regret finding time in your schedule to visit this place!

Our favorite place in Dunedin for a coffee and snacks. David and his staff are unfailingly helpful and friendly. The food is great and David takes justifiable pride in roasting his own coffee, which makes the end result that much better. The atmosphere is great too: weve met several fascinating people there and had delightful conversations with them. Definitely worth the effort seeking out Sandpiper - it isnt far from the center of Dunedin.
