I have been looking for a special bike for my wife for a year, and of course everything is sold out and not due in for a year. But the inventory here is so deep that they had exactly what I was hoping for. The service and sales staff are even better than the bikes. My favorite bike shop by far, and Ive been all over the country.

In town for a race and was having issues with rare components. This was the only shop in town that had what I needed and the customer service was exceptional. Almost want to move to Durango so this can be my local shop.

Incredible bike shop! Stopped here when I had a technical failure during a bikepacking trip on the CT. Despite it being closing time, they stayed late to help me out and get me back on the trail! I wish I could give them more stars!

Always enjoy shopping here when we’re in town but today really gave me a reason to leave a review (not much of a reviewer I am). Rolling through on an extended stay and bike brakes went kaput. I have been coming here for years, this is the best outdoors store in Durango by far. Yesterday Brody helped heat mold my boots I was having trouble with and they fit so much better. All of the staff were very nice and helpful and they carry the best brands around.

These guys saved the day and fixed my mountain bike on short notice one Saturday afternoon. Really appreciate the above and beyond service!! Highly recommend!

Good selection, albeit pretty expensive. As far as ebikes they wont work on Rad Power Bikes (mine has a 750W brushless Bafang geared hub motor) or apparently a big chunk of the entry level Ebike brands -- anything without a Bosch motor i was told by one of the gentleman. Even though i just wanted some fenders installed. Disappointing. I find that strange given the popularity of these cheaper ebikes the last couple years. Hopefully they will change this in the future.

There is no shop better in Colorado, let alone Durango. I do all my outdoor purchases at 2nd Ave Sports because of their knowledge, selection and amazing service! A+++ all around!!!

Unfortunately we did not make it in to the store at the end of ride. We were berated by the folks working there that day for parking in their lot. We were directed to park there by the tour company we used. A much better way to handle would have been to take up the issue with the tour company, not folks that were willing to come in and check out the shop.

Ski service dept was very helpful and my skis are going to be ready much faster than I expected!

We were in from out of town and took my bike in with a flat. Even though these guys were very busy they replaced the tube and got us back on the trail in minutes. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. When we’re in Durango these will be our “Go To” bike guys!!

This place is great, I stopped by thinking Id have to special order parts but they had all of them in stock and the staff knew exactly what I needed.

We had the best customer service! From hiking boots to renting ski boots, skis, and gloves, I am so glad we chose 2nd Ave Sports for everything we needed for a wide range of ages. We got there a few minutes after closing to return our rentals, and they were smiling and asking us how our time at Purgatory went! They were not upset about us being a few minutes late, and they even asked each one of us how everything went. Excellent!!

I was so pleased with the knowledge base and customer service skills of the staff at Second Ave Sports. I had been researching ebikes for almost a year, test road a quality bike from a different shop, and then went to SAS to ride the Trek. The two major brand bikes stood up well against each other, and although I was leaning toward the Trek, it was really the staff at the store that sealed the deal. They were knowledgeable, personable, made a point to understand my needs and wants, and treated me just as respectfully as if I was a hard core cyclist buying a $10,000 bike. I heartily recommend this shop for whatever cycling needs you may have whether as simple as a pair of gloves, or a brand new bike.

Wonderful experience renting snowshoes for the first time out! I specifically asked when they needed to be returned and they said tomorrow morning, very casual. I repeated, “oh really, just by tomorrow morning, and you’re open?”, yes, was his response. I called in the morning to see when I would be charged an additional day to insure I was there in time to avoid any additional charges, only to find out the window to return was 8-9 and I missed it. No exceptions, I explained I was not told a time only in the morning, which it still was morning! He said yup you missed it and you are being charged an additional day. I hope the $20 was worth it, because when I brought the shoes back I was planning to purchase a snowboard helmet. Oh well...Update, my husband took them back prior to noon and they stated I would not be charged the additional day and the guy I spoke with was misinformed. My initial rating was a 3, but changing it to a 5, I’m all about just doing the right thing, which they have done.

The absolute best place to rent skis from. They had my family of 5 in and out in 30 mins. Everyone there was extremely friendly and knowledgeable...and if they didnt know the answer they would find out. We will definitely be back! Keep up the good work!

Id never use another bike shop! Great and friendly staff that are always willing to help you out. The mechanics there are super detail oriented and I can fully trust my bike is ready to after they work on it. I have been using them for 6+ years and never had a bad experience. I can recommend them with confidence knowing that they will treat anyone right.

The only bike rental in Durango we could find that would rent a mountain bike for a 6 year and 11 year old. They were very accommodating to swap out bikes and helmets and adjust seat heights as needed.

Super friendly and helpful. I did an all day rental and they let me swap bikes mid way though. Nice selection of bikes. Rented a Mach 6 that seemed to be super low mileage. Spent the time to set up suspension perfectly. Great selection all around. Also helpful with local trail knowledge.

I needed to get my bindings mounted on Friday afternoon to go skiing on Saturday because the arrived at my house late. 2nd ave sports did it right away and I had my skis in less than two hours at a good price. The team was friendly and very helpful.

Shout out the guys at Second Ave Sports who rented us an awesome tandem bike! They made sure the bike was in awesome condition before sending us out and their prices are extremely fair. They also had a huge assortment of bikes and accessories and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Favorite part was the staff that made several recommendations for where to ride, eat and drink around town - couldnt ask for better service!

I purchased my wonderful Santa Cruz Nomad from the shop (in addition to my regular and split snowboards) and havent been disappointed. I live in Denver and make a point of going to Durango once a year to have the shop perform any maintenance and repairs. The mechanics are highly knowledgeable and are some of the best in the biz - theyve been able to troubleshoot and correct some nagging repairs that other shops simply couldnt figure out. Perfect service! We are from Houston and were four wheeling and bicycling in Silverton, when we broke the derailleur on my husbands bicycle. We thought that it would be expensive and time-consuming at a specialty bike shop. Happily, it was not. Quick, efficient, and friendly!
