Not bad for a breakfast chicken spot. I did enjoy my southern breakfast chicken sandwich. The cheese on it was a bit tart for me. But overall it was a good sandwich. I enjoyed the cheesy grits. The okra was not bad. The fried green tomato wasnt my favorite and I love fried green tomatoes. I wish the batter was more cornmealish.
Order online. Build your own starting with choice of biscuit, egg, meat (veggie or the real thang), toppings like fried green tomato, lettuce, fresh tomato slice, cheese, sauces. Pay for order, choose pickup time and show up to find your name on the electronic kiosk. Choose your name, enter order number then window opens with your order inside.Biscuits are done perfectly and that s why you choose Rise. Toppings are high calorie comfort food. This Southpoint location in plaza next to Target on Renaissance parkway.
One self serve ordering terminal inside. Best to order online to avoid a line. Order pickup is from self service kiosks. Great food and relatively quick service.
Thought that I’d try this place out since the only other donut place in the area is Dunkin and I had high hopes. If you just want to grab some donuts though, this is definitely not the place. I walked in on a Saturday morning and there was a large amount of people standing around looking confused. Waiting in line to order at the only self order kiosk that’s available so I decided to order online instead. The email I received said that I’d have to wait 9 minutes. Not bad I thought, but then 20 minutes after the time they said it would be ready and I still hadn’t received anything I was now one of the many confused looking people standing around. I finally received my donuts and discovered that they were missing one of the glazed donuts I ordered. I went back in to ask for one and they told me that it would take 5-6 minutes to make another glazed donut. The beignets I orders were hard like rocks and the other donuts tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp on a shelf for an hour. Definitely not worth the long wait and hassle. Save your time and go somewhere else if you just want donuts.
Ms. Latonya has amazing patience and customer service skills. Really friendly and really helpful. Not enough people get shout outs for good customer service these days so I would like to make sure she does. You never ever know the s**t someone may be walking through before your interaction with them. I was having a very rough morning and her simple kindness and patience actually made my morning restart much better. Cant put a price on that kind of thing. Now I want to be kind to someone else amd Pau it forward. Thank you 😊
Got an apple fritter at 8:15 am Sunday. The fritter was tough and dry, like from yesterday? And tipping is out of control. Im prompted to tip in at least two places. I place my own order on an ipad. I swipe my card. The employees put a donut in a bag. What service is deserving of a tip? Maybe Rise should pay their employees a fair wage.
Very poor customer service! We are biking through from VA heading to SC, we happen not to have a mask due to stormy weather yesterday and just trying to get a meal in before we head out and the staff at Rise were very disrespectful and raising their voice to leave because we didn’t have a mask, I asked if they had one I could use and they said no, go order online outside. We sat outside and ordered, after getting the text it was ready we called and phone stayed busy so we just opened the door and 1st thing she asked was “what do you want?!”, simply replayed “our order said it was ready”...after handing us our food I kinda said “have a nice day” and her reply was “uh huh”.I understand policy and if I had one I would gladly wear it for the comfort of others but they did not have a sign on their door saying to do so nor did they provide any.
Went here on the recommendation of a friend you use to live in Durham - it did not disappoint! I had a cheddar biscuit with chicken and fried green tomatoes. Absolutely delicious. Everyone with me was super satisfied with their choice. Fast and friendly service.
If youre expecting the same kind of experience youd get at Foster St youll be disappointed.Despite using (Im assuming) the same recipes the results are lackluster. The biscuits are dry and boring instead of fluffy and buttery. Employees seem completely uninterested in what they are doing. Eggs and bacon usually overcooked. And the wait time is horrible.
Rise is relying on their reputation without delivering the quality that initially made them popular. Rise used bake a huge assortment of delicious and creative donuts, the best you could find anywhere. Today, the selection is less than half what it used to be as they are pushing other products like breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Not only has the donut selection dwindled, but so has the quality. Today, Rise bakes a very ordinary donut, comparable to a grocery store bakery. The one thing Rise has retained is their premium pricing with donuts prices ranging from $1.50 for glazed and up to $3.00 for specialty pastries. They are definitely not that good. As theyve shrunk their donut lineup, theyve expanded their breakfast sandwich lineup. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit for $5. It would have been good, except they use that fake processed cheese (which I personally hate) and it ruined the sandwich. $5 for a breakfast sandwich is bordering on expensive, but when the sandwich is horrifyingly similar to McDonalds, theres no reason to pay a premium. Three years ago, Rise was my breakfast tradition every weekend. I would have given them 10 out of 5 stars. Today, theres nothing remarkable to recommend and their demise is a genuine tragedy.
Do not visit this location. Not the same food quality or service as when they first opened. The downtown Durham location is in my opinion the last of the real Rise in Durham. We left and went to Chic-fil-a.
Picked up a mixed dozen of donuts early Friday morning (5/21/21) to bring to work because I had to wait on an errand, and I was shocked how bad they were! They definitely hadn’t been made that day and had an odd aftertaste. They were edible but definitely not the quality you’d expect for paying $1.50 a donut, I’ve easily had better donuts from a nearby gas station. It’s disappointing because they’ve been great in the past but I’m feeling a bit burned by this and recent reviews.
Biscuits and donuts are excellent and they serve counter culture coffee — definitely try the chicken biscuit. Seriously it is a good idea to call your order in ahead of time
I tried to call in an order here today. They said it’s online or in person. Cool. But not really. When I get there to my surprise no one takes my order, or greets me, I have to order on a pad. After I go through all of that, now the lady can speak and says they don’t take cash. This was a horrible way to start my day. I won’t be back.
What once was a great place for breakfast has devolved into an impersonal “modern” dining experience. You dont talk to anyone. The donuts are no longer hand made on site, and have significantly less options. My experience today has taken over 32 minutes for 1 biscuit and 3 donuts.I’m sure the original owners made some good money, and they did a great job. But this new experience is simply terrible. I’m calling to cancel my order now.
I typically don’t like to post reviews, but I felt this one needed to be done.I’m a vegetarian. I have been for a few years now. I went to Rise with my cousin about a month ago and ordered the vegetarian version of a Nashville chicken biscuit.I noticed that the “chicken” was a bit large compared to other fake meat versions that I’ve had, and the texture wasn’t too bad either. With how close meat substitutes are to the real thing, I didn’t think twice about it...But then I ordered the same biscuit from Rise in Holly Springs, and it was completely different. I was initially confused. The “chicken” was flat and had different breading on it, and the sauce was under it instead of covering the chicken. It was then that I realized that my cousin and I had both eaten meat at the Durham store.Granted, we did come in 10 minutes before closing. As someone who works in the service industry, I understand that it can be annoying; however, we made sure our orders were quick and simple, and we were the only two in the store. On the order screen you could clearly see that it said vegetarian, so I know we didn’t choose the wrong biscuit by accident. I honestly feel like this was a simple lack of care on the staff’s part. I used to work in fast food, I used to serve, and now I work in a bakery. Dietary restrictions and food allergies were something I was taught to never overlook. The fact that the restriction was blatantly printed on the ticket is what makes this mistake not okay with me. It wasn’t spoken or haphazardly written down on a ticket. If that were the case it would be more forgivable, but for me to punch in the order on my own, see that it is correct on the screen, and then have someone just completely look over it in a dead store? It’s just carelessness.
Food is great, but takes way too long to receive your food. I waited here an hour+ for food that should not have taken as long. On top of me waiting an hour+, they also forgot to include items in my order. Either they dont know theyre super busy every Sunday and dont hire enough workers, or their cooking line is absurdly inefficient. Probably wont come here again, Very Disappointing.
Rise elevates the donut shop concept simply by adding biscuits. So you can get a very tasty, but not too greasy, biscuit sandwich with a myriad of toppings/sides. I ordered a biscuit with bacon, scrambled eggs, roasted red peppers, pickled jalapeños, and pimento cheese. Your results may vary. I believe you can order a large or small biscuit, which is made in house from scratch, but a small one was more than enough for me.We also ordered the Oreo, Crème brûlée, chocolate chocolate, apple fritter, cookies n cream, and a long John (cant remember the filling). All the donuts tasted like they were made with quality ingredients and were very scrumptious. I will say that they might be a little too sweet for some people. My favorite was the fritter!
Seriously the best fried chicken biscuit! I added a fried green tomato...it was amazing with the bacon and pimento cheese! They were super busy, which is typical for all the rise locations. The only thing that was disappointing is they seem to have less donuts than they used to. I know all the locations are a little different and sell accordingly. But it wont deter me from returning.I do want to try the cheddar biscuit the next time...how amazing would that be!
I love their country ham biscuit!
It had been a while since Ive been here, and its certainly not the same. The donut selection used to be 12 or more donuts, now theres a pretty slim selection. The Maple Bacon used to be a bar with a full piece of bacon, now its a tiny donut with broken pieces - and the dough does not seem as rich. The Apple Fritter has shrunk. My Fried Green Tomato Biscuit was also not as flavorful as before. The only thing that seems to have stayed the same are the prices.
We ordered breakfast for 60 people and they did an incredible job. Everyone loved the food and they packed everything perfectly.
I was disappointed! I heard great things about this place but that was before Covid! I went and there were to many people waiting for there food they only had one place to order and when I got my food it was cold! I hope RISE can find another way to run there restaurant because this is absolutely ridiculous!
It would be helpful if when there out of products to be informed by employees rather than a kioskAlso the staff needs to learn to talk quietly and not knock the customer coming in to get donughts at 1:30 in the afternoon
Waited 20-25 minutes for one biscuit that was just warm if not room temperature. I’d recommend sticking with chick fil a or bojangles where you can get a similar sandwich (plus fries and a drink) for half the price and half the wait time - unless you don’t mind driving to one of the other Rise locations in Raleigh that usually offer a much better experience.
5 star food, 1 star wait. How long does it take to prepare a biscuit?
Best chicken biscuit ever! Couldnt figure how to add honey on the kiosk, but it was still gas!
Amazing chicken biscuit!! Southern style with pimento cheese and bacon is fantastic! We like the cheddar tots, but wish there were more in the bag. Not a big fan of the donuts.
First time at this location this morning and I was surprised there were no display cases and only kiosks to order. I got home and opened my box to reveal this monstrosity that was supposed to be a cinnamon roll. It was burnt and hard as a rock. Had there been a display case and I saw what they looked like I wouldn’t have bought this. Donut and biscuit were ok. Won’t be returning to this Rise.
The online order pickup process has been improved. Now the orders are on a rack like other restaurants do. That makes it easy to get in and out which is appreciated right now. The food remains solid in my book.
Very long line and the order was about 30 minutes late, but tasted delicious
Never going back. This place was once really good. I mean line out the door good. But then they over-expanded and totally forgot about customer service. Walked in this morning (no line). You place your order on an ipad, so no human interaction. That’s okay, COVID, I get it. Waited 15 minutes. People who came in after me were getting their food. The overhead screen said my order was ready. I asked if my food was ready and they said no. 10 more minutes pass. I ask again and they say no. Meanwhile a woman walks in and says she received the wrong order. It was mine. She tells me, not a RISE employee, that they will have to make my order over. So 30 minutes have now passed and I ask for a refund. Cassandra, the manager, has an attitude. No apology. Basically says tough luck. We will see if the credit ever shows up on my card.
Their slogan is right - they do have the best dang biscuits and donuts. They have done a good job with covid procedures and are quick to get your order made correctly and delivered on time. Biscuit was fresh made and so was the donut. A great reward to an early morning.
I use to love this place when it opened-Had issues the last 4 times I went.
The variety is amazing. Even had carrot cake donut and a creme brulee one (I didnt get those but thought they sounded delicious). The cake donuts are my favorite so I got the Traditional one and I think it was made with sour creme so it wasnt so so sweet, you know? Delicious and I dont even like donuts!
Yeah it looks good and yeah it taste good
We get rise about once a month since we live nearby. When they are on it, the biscuits are amazing and huge and perfectly cooked and the chicken is fantastic. But when they are not on it, they have forgotten toppings, chicken has been cold, etc. I wish they were more consistent. They still do a good job of changing up the menu and just launched a new menu about a month or so ago. Overall would recommend.
Wow. Not the quality Im use to from the other rise establishments. My biscuits looked and tasted old. And all employees need to keep their mask up while in the kitchen.
I love Rise, and Ive been to this location several times. Unfortunately, each time Ive gone for a pickup order, Ive never been greeted or acknowledged. On this particular visit (7/19), my online pickup order was incorrect, so I had to wait for a reorder. The associate did not apologize or acknowledge the error, and he did not speak to me or look at m when he gave me the reorder. I appreciate the hard work theyre doing, especially during COVID-19, but I think the associates at this location could benefit from some additional customer service training.
They dont take cash and you wouldnt know until after you wait 10 mins in line for your turn at the kiosk.
Rise was good food but the wait is insane. They have online orders and are making food for people that aren’t in the store, bags just sitting there. 20 minutes is too long for a chicken biscuit, no matter how tasty.
Lack of planning, service, and basic courtesy. One would think that anticipating a busy morning would lead to better planning but seems lost on this team. Clearly the priority is being given to call in orders over folks that came out in person who were left to wait...and wait...and wait. A little better communication to the customer would go a long way to keeping things positive. No donuts/biscuits are worth this hassle. Never again.
This place makes it hard to be a repeat customer. Ordered online. Got to the store. I dont mind going in for pickup, but it said to call for curbside, so I did and no answer. Go inside, employee was on phone taking someone elses order, which is why they didnt pick up. Two self-serve kiosks, each with a customer, so I didnt step forward to respect social distancing. I figured the employee would look up when she was ready so I waited. When she got off the phone, she immediately turned into the kitchen to make food. There were only three employees and they were all working frantically 25 feet away. These people at the kiosks were taking forever so finally I start waving my hands to say I have a pickup order. After saying my name four times, since Im yelling across the store, they simply walked up, grabbed my bag, and handed it to me politely. It was right there. All someone had to do was ask if I had an online order when I walked in but they are all so overworked getting orders ready that no one is able to help the customers! I dont blame them. They were working hard. Its the ordering system and customer service that are messed up. Management should fix that. Replace a kiosk with a person. I know its covid and youre struggling but this isnt working either. Ive had mediocre experiences here pre-covid so its not some unique occurrence. The food was fine. I dont think its extraordinary but its a nice change. With an experience like this though, itll be a while before I go back and try again.
Great food but on a busy day expect to wait 45 minutes.
The food has always been decent but when it comes to the staff, its not a welcoming environment. The purpose of calling over the phone is to have the food ready in time. I shouldnt have to come in & wait a few more minutes while my to go bag is sitting there in plain site. There needs to be more staff on days they know it gets busy, its common sense & somebody at 1 of the registers at all times
Food is good but orders are late and there were too many people in the store waiting for their order, very scary from a covid perspective
The only things that I rate as being “ok” are the fries and righteous chicken strips. Biscuits are hit or miss. I have tried a few different things.....I am always left unsatisfied and feeling like I spent WAY too much. I really came for coffee and it tastes like hot milk water (even after too much sugar being added). My mom didn’t complain, and she is a complainer so that is a good sign but she did say that the food could use more seasoning. I most likely will not return.
Sadly I won’t be going back there anymore. I used to go to rise all the time for the awesome rotating biscuit menu and the amazing donuts. I would go regularly for a maple bacon donut and an apple fritter. Now they rarely change the menu. The donuts and biscuits aren’t anything special anymore. I got a fritter today that was sad, tasted burnt, not big pieces of apple like they used to have. They stopped making the maple bacon also. Don’t waste your time. Just go to Bojangles, the biscuits there are way better.
I have tried this location 3 times. All 3 times have been disappointed in food. This time the service was the worst. No acknowledgment when we came in door. No communication that no one takes your order, you are supposed to know some how that you place the order yourself on a touch screen you have never seen. No and I mean no staff members said anything but a name when our order was done. Won’t be back. Strongly suggest you re-train your staff on customer service expectations unless your ok with this review.
Front end worker taking orders at the cash register with gloves on and handling money. No gloves changed in between transactions. Delivering orders outside to customers only to return in restaurant to continue with the same gloves on. Changed one glove and put on another one and continue to work. No hand sanitizer was used. During this pandemic we have to be more aware of the virus and how its transmitted. Safety first!!!
Food was great like always but the restaurant seemed under staffed. Order took nearly an hour and they were out of a few of the things I ordered. I’d still recommend this place but I’d plan ahead next time so that I don’t spend so much time waiting.
This is a review of management, not staff. The workers are doing the best they can but it’s clear there is zero support, and the company is too cheap to pay enough people to work on the weekends. There’s three people working on Sunday morning and there are probably 20 people waiting, and ticket times are 45 minutes behind, and that is very typical for any weekend. GET IT TOGETHER.They don’t even have working AC in the place, I feel horrible for the employees working in the burning hot kitchen.
If an option for ZERO STARS was available that’s what this place deserves. I work across the street and live a half hour away so I called in when I left my house so that it can be a quick pick up. Once I got there I waited another 20 MINUTES from the original HALF HOUR. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. My order was as easy as it could’ve gotten. A single biscuit and fries. EMBARRASSING
So good. Used the Door dash pickup option. Door dash estimated wait time was accurate.
STOOD there for 45 minutes after ordering...they couldnt even find my ticket, and were too busy to give a refund. That was the strangest way Ive ever been robbed.Seriously this place has gone way down hill. Food is good but its not worth enduring the chaos of the ordering process. Why not call peoples names over the speaker outside instead of having everyone huddle inside?
Apparently Rise has new ownership. It sadly shows.Over the past 12 months it has slid from extremely good, to just average, to totally not worth the time.I wonder what the next retail use of this space will be? We should probably know in 6 months.
Biscuits are bigger than I thought they would be and they are good. My only complaint is that they didn’t put sauce in any of my biscuits. I ordered a few spicy chicken biscuits and it says it comes with sauce.. tasted dry without any sauce. I didn’t realize until I got home. This is my first visit too.
I remember the glory days or RISE - a glass case of unique and delicious donuts, warm biscuits with melted cheese, the smell of hot coffee, and a friendly stuff literally flinging your order at you (I mean that as a compliment - it was fast). I went visited the SODU location for the first time in a while recently and was pretty disappointed. They seem to have pivoted towards boxed chicken meals. The donuts were out, even though they were on the menu and it was before noon. The one guy who was taking orders looked like hed rather be anywhere else and acted like it too. The coffee was out. I ordered my old standby - bacon egg and cheese and threw in some tater tot things. Both were really tasty! so Im glad they still got that going for them. I just wish I didnt have to wait 15-20 minutes for them. Seems like their vision is to become a fancy BoJangles. Do we really need another chicken place?
I am writing this while stuffing my face in my car but the workers here are amazing especially after the confusion this morning due to my online order. Long story short my online order did not go through, but the payment definitely did. They were so nice and understanding and prepared the order when I went in and I feel so thankful and awkward for making them go through that. The food is yummy, thank you guys again!
Sad that the gourmet donuts are no longer a focus. The excitement fir me was what intriguing and unique flavors they would debut for donuts. Bring back the donuts!! Otherwise this is a southern biscuit hop.
Rise was once one of my favorite destinations -- a gem. Years later, its barely a shell of its former self. What made Rise truly great, in my opinion, was the spirit of unique experimental biscuits and doughnuts that werent just stamped out in bulk. There was clearly more variety, more creativity, and more care, even if more effort. I agree with others who have said the quality has gone downhill, and I really miss the display case of small batch treats on rotation...or the excitement of waking up on the weekend to see what Rise was cooking up next. However, what is most disappointing to me is Rise having sold its soul to become just another high volume food franchise. The story of Rise is a tragedy.
Donuts and biscuit sandwiches are very tasty! Online ordering makes it very convenient, especially for weekend mornings when theyre super busy. Staff is generally pretty warm and friendly. My only complaint is that they used to have such a great selection of unique donuts, flavors and styles you couldnt find in the chain stores. About a year or so ago, though, theyve become more mainstreamed and have cut back significantly on those rarer offerings, so I dont find myself wanting to go there as much. Still, its a good spot to hit and one Id definitely recommend.
I am so tired of this place. Twice we have received burger buns instead of biscuits, the wait is always terrible, and this morning they gave our order to someone else, then argued with us after we waited twenty minutes, like somehow wed taken our food and then just forgot. We tipped and everything. Breakfast shouldnt be this stressful, definitely not worth it.
I used to love this place. Now they updated their menu, got rid of all the good donuts, and put in a self-serve register. It feels like a Dunkin donuts.
What happened? This place used to be so good, and they changed formats and no longer rotate flavors. I tried a fritter and it was tiny, doughy, and without that crunchy glaze on top that makes fritters so good. If youre looking for a good replacement, try Carolina Glazed or Early Bird.
I was surprised by the new setup. The donuts are no longer on display in a glass case and though there is a board with names of which donuts are sold out its sort of a jumbled mess. However there are now 2 registers to place orders so the efficiency of placing orders is better if you can figure out whats available. The food is still good.
A standard Rise shop, but that really says a lot. The food is great! My favorite is the biscuit with eggs, but you cannot go wrong with donuts either. Always clean and the staff are very friendly. This is my favorite local fast breakfast place.
This is a “buyer beware” for any vegetarian/vegan that, like us, was excited that Rise had ventured into the plant based territory. Sadly, they need to rethink that. If there was a way to still give a review and give zero stars that’s what would be more appropriate here. We ordered online, the veggie chicken option. Picked up the order and got on the road, 20 minutes out we opened the bag to find real chicken. Called back and confirmed that indeed an error had occurred. Arrived to get replacement sandwiches and to have a calm, cordial conversation with the manager and instead of an apology or sorry for the inconvenience, we were met with hostility and anger. We were basically informed that it was the fault of the system and somehow by extension our fault that their internal ordering system did not receive the order as confirmed via e-mail online. This manager just unleashed his frustrations with corporate on us. He went on to say that even if we get the veggie chicken, they don’t use separate fryers and the veggie sausage similarly is not cooked on a separate grill but rather cooked where “we cook 2 pounds of bacon”. I tried to inform him of a separate occasion where we ordered on site and still almost received the wrong thing had we not spoken up. Instead of being appreciative of customer feedback, he continued to cut me off and try and escalate the situation. Clearly, Rise should just be like Arby’s and stick to the meats. We won’t ever go back here and will be sure and alert all those with plant based diets via social media and other platforms do to the same. Even if you eat meat, I’d think you would expect a better customer service experience that we just had.
Great breakfast/lunch place! I have visited for the first time and the stuff was very friendly and helpful. Ive gotten a couple of biscuits and gravy boxes and some filled donuts and those were amazing! 👍
Not good quality food and incredibly rude staff. The mix of food that taste worst than McDonald’s and rude rude staff =never coming again
I was disappointed when I went this morning and they no longer serve the donuts. It was the best part of the menu. Nothing is the same I will definitely not be coming back.
The staff at this place are amazing! Tama in particular is absolutely awesome! Always knows what the customers want and thinks ahead! A real team player with a great attitude and smile! Five stars to all the great people there!
Food is good, just lighten up on the salt. Very salty!
I love this place!!!!! They have a new menu as of March 2019 but most of the items are the same the name has just changed.I love it! Come here all the time. If you are looking for a delicious biscuit, RISE is the place!
The people at Rise are amazing. I went here for my eighth grade community service project. We were having a bake sale in front of the Rise building for families who have children with cancer and need financial assistance. The people working there were so friendly and because my group was fundraising for a good cause they bought a whole plate of cookies and muffins. Plus, when we were leaving they gave us a bag full of free donuts. The food was amazing and I strongly recommend getting a biscuit!!
Updated: Jan 2019. Since Rise had been expanding to new locations their quality at all locations including here at the original has severely dropped. They dont put as much topping on their biscuits as they used to, using significantly less bacon which is not cooked well. Theyre donuts are no longer that good, and they no longer have rotating specials. They have switched coffee beans to a worse company. Overall I no longer recommended Rise.Best biscuits in town! Im not a big donuts/sweets person, but theirs are delicious! Love the rotating specials and donuts to keep things fresh. While not the best coffee it has gotten better... But really, whos going there for the coffee?
I flew in town for MLK weekend and told my friends I solely wanted to eat food found in NC, since it is my first time. This food was nothing short of amazing and despite them not having the donuts I ordered and purchased they offered me a substitute(I ended up getting cinnamon rolls, they didnt seem to keen on issuing a refund so I tried to be as simple as can be). I am sure, the donuts wouldve sealed the deal. However, the cheddar tots and Bacon, egg and cheese biscuit did the job. (Small suggestion for people not from around there: when filling out your order on the ipads, you can only pay with card. No cash)
Exceeded my expectations! We had the chicken biscuit, the tree hugger, and an applewood bacon. My husband put jelly on his egg, bacon, and cheese, for which I condemned him, but I stand corrected. Adding jelly somehow worked... like Joey custard, good. Jam, good. Beef, good!
Rise makes some of the most interesting and creative biscuits and donuts Ive seen. I especially like their southern-style creations like the Fried Green Tomato biscuit. Really good food.
Over twenty min for a chicken biscuit and tots. First and last time coming here. Like orders are very behind and dysfunctional.
Food is good. The service is not great and you will wait a long time for your food.
Good food, but really slow service. I think they needed two additional people.
I know there is a lot of difficulty with COVID right now but weve had Rise dozens and dozens of times. The last two including today have proved something changed for the worse. Mind you they got rid of donuts then bought them back but the sandwich quality has been embarrassing and a waste of money. Its sad because it was our go to weekend breakfast pick up spot but the changes and lack thereof of quality is forcing us to go elsewhere. Mind you I dont ever leave reviews so understand the disappointment I have as a future customer reading this. I recommend looking around the area for an alternative as there are a ton of options.
Best. Spicy. Chicken. Biscuit. Ever.Seriously, once I discovered the spicy chicken biscuit here I havent had a Rise donut since. I will sometimes go out of my way on lunch to drive over here for this biscuit. I used to take my kids on the weekend for donuts as a treat, now I take myself and offer to take the kids too.It is almost like the first time I experienced a Chipotle-style burrito 15+ years ago. A whole new category of food.
Rise used to be an amazing place (all of their locations). They took the gourmet doughnuts away, which was one of the biggest reasons we frequented there. We were willing to give them a chance since their biscuits were also bomb, but we ordered some of those recently and they were mediocre and soggy. Even the hashbrowns they used to have are gone. The tator tots were so boring and bland. I guess they got new ownership and it shows. Dont waste your time going here. Even when they bring a specialty doughnut, theyre boring. There are lots of other places to get a delicious biscuit. Sadly, rise is not that place anymore.
Rude guy at the cash registerOkay we went there again today to deliver an order to a customer. The same guy came screaming at us do you think its funny to write a review like this? You shouldnt even be here! so think twice if youd like to order a delivery from them. Thats how they treat your delivery drivers and, basically, you if you order a take out. Great job.
Best donuts and general breakfast fare in the area. A repeat favorite, glad I live just down the street!UPDATE: This place has mostly gone to s**t. They stopped selling their donuts...we had only ever gone there for breakfast or brunch and have literally 0 interest in coming back. Lowering rating to 3 stars.
Willing to adapt and change.
Been going here since it first opened. Their donuts are good, but I really go for the biscuits (bacon, egg, cheese) which are truly amazing.I do like the outdoor seating...kinda wish they had more space on the inside for those rainy days. Also, the key to survival is do not go on Saturday or Sunday morning :) By that, I mean, the lines can be crazy, I would avoid going there between 8-10am on those days if you can resist.
