Went in for an oil change and the employees were very friendly and did an excellent job. Kept me abreast of the progress and explained everything that was necessary in straightforward language.

Family was in town & low tire pressure light came on. Didnt matter not PepBoys tires they checked all the tires & added air. Great service.

I bought 4 new tires for my 2010 Ford Focus 6-13-21. I had an appointment and when I arrived they were a little short handed, so I thought about leaving. Chris greeted me pleasantly and apologized for the inconvenience. All said and done Chris took care of me in a very timely fashion and I am completely satisfied with my experience there. I will definitely come back in the future.

Called to schedule the 120-pt inspection they offer that is advertised on their website and on the radio. When I called, the man who answered (Steve I think he said his name was) said they didnt do used car inspections and when I asked what type of inspections they do, he listed off very specific inspections (like for brakes only). So I went on their website to verify I had my info right, and when I did I called back and specifically asked him about the $75 120-pt inspection thats offered on their website, and he said well we can look at your car if you want us to. I said I wanted the 120 pt inspection thats offered, and after quite a bit more attitude from him I decided to schedule my appointment at the Troy location. And they were very helpful and friendly on the phone (and immediately knew which inspection I was talking about!)

DO NOT GO HERE. They could not even open the hood of my fiances Jeep because it locked up. She had to take it to a dealership to unlock it. Unfortunately they had no appointments available to get an oil change so she took it back to Pep Boys. 18 year old kid worker apparently thinks this is the place to pick up girls and proceeds to annoy my fiance while she waits. After almost two hours later they bill her $88 for the oil change, and then give her an inspection report that details everything thats wrong with the car. $2000 needs to be spent urgently!!!!! On brake pads, tires, rotors, shocks, etc... This was all replaced recently. Quit trying to scam unsuspecting customers and do the job they request in a reasonable amount of time.

I set up an appointment to have my brakes inspected and they have tires installed for tomorrow. I tried this with Firestone and they couldnt schedule me appointment. They only wanted me to drop my truck off whats the matter with that Ill never know what my brakes would look like if I just held it in the shadows and let them know not me I prefer to work on my equipment myself. Glad Pep boys out there.

Went to get a tire a few weeks ago and was so impressed with the customer service that I went back when I needed a new battery during the cold snap and it was even better. I was back for the third time today to get major work done and couldnt be happier with the work and service, and my vehicle was done in half a day. Blaise in the repair center was exceptionally helpful and Im a customer for life.

Walked in to get two new tires, guy running the counter wasn’t wearing a mask and couldn’t be bothered with me because I didn’t make an appointment. When I asked if people typically make appointments he said “well at least today we’re appointment only and that I was blindsiding him for being a walk in”Weird experience, so I just left.

I went on their website and it said 120 point inspection for $75 so I called the eastpoint location he was like what no we dont do tha.t only for new cars and then it says on the website used cars inspection like any car can get inspected! Then said whatever then we can look at it. we didnt want him to look at it we want to pay a specific service. Sounded like a tool bag. hey manager who keeps replying to all these reviews are you the guy at the counter with terrible customer service? Cuz if not you should probably fire the dude apparently everybody hates him. Steve maybe

Blase is the best employee this store has. From the old school dad jokes to him just making sure you have everything you need. He is exceptional. Only thing was, the rest of the employees should follow suit. They were slow and had very poor communication. If it werent for Blase my experience wouldve been horrible.

First off, Blaise is a character, in a good way!😂 I set an appointment for 3:30. Got there early, needed a headlamp bulb replacement. I was home within an hour and I couldnt be happier. The price was reasonable, service was great. I will be back again for the next little quick routine things I need done. Im really pleased with the entire experience.

Understand that this is post covid 19 times but........ I give them 1 star if there was a way of giving less I would. Never even made it into the actual establishment. The phone service was terrible. Called twice got two different amounts after I pressured them for service. I was told in order to give me a price for an inspection he had to be certified mechanic. Just for an inspection price. Those are set prices. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Came in needing emergency work done with a valve stem on one of my tires maybe takes 5 minutes for a tech to do it still had in half an hour before they close and they refuse to do it for me even though I explained that it was my only vehicle and I needed it in the morning and it only takes 5 minutes they still would not do it for me

I trust these guys to fix my car right, and they do. People need to understand that you get what you pay for with car repairs, and good work is not cheap, nor is cheap work good. Ive found them to be at least competitive in pricing, and in some cases less expensive than other places. It also takes time. You need to exercise patience when waiting for your car to be worked on, if you want it done right. Ive had exceptionally good service from Blaise and Wayne. Overall, a very good choice for most car repairs.

Went for an oil change and a tire. The tires a tire, they had it, put it on. The oil change however was a different story. Waited almost 3 hours. Its been 500 miles and no my oil light is on. Theres no way my car could burn through 5 or 6 quarts of oil even if it was some kind of 1992 junk clunker. I drive a 2013 Volvo truck. And the oils change was $120.

When I was at PB I was schock to see employees with out masks on no one asked me if they could help me other employee coughing didnt cover his mouth I left made a complaint

Pep boys no longer owns the parts store.Only the service.Coupons no good.No more point discounts.Used to shop there often. New parts store has nowhere near the amount of product.

The absolute slowest oil change i have ever had to endure. It took over an hour and a half to complete a simple ten minutes oil change and thats not to mention the 100 dollars i had to pay, opposed to the 30 dollar ten minutes change across the street. DO NOT GO HERE

I needed a battery replaced for a keyless entry fob, but with the outbreak my dealer was closed. Wayne was friendly and helpful on the phone and even put the new batteries in for me when I arrived. Thanks for the great service!

Went in for a service appointment that I made a week in advance. The guy says “sorry were not gonna be able to help you today because nobody showed up to work. I don’t even know a day to tell you to come back.” Okay...? lol I don’t understand why they couldn’t call before I showed up knowing they didn’t have any employees. He didn’t even try to get me in a another day he just said he didn’t know when I’d be able to come back. Super unprofessional. Won’t come here again.

I have tried to return to this place to get my oil changed again. The first time I went service was great and now, I Tried twice now to get my oil changed, the first time I set an appointment that somehow got cancelled by a rep. The latest time they guy began to ask me why I came in. Then the phone range and buddy completely ignored that I was there for at least 10 minutes. Im not coming back

New tires and brakes fine. However, additional assessment was topped-up to include work not needed. Since I had no indication of needing some of what was suggested, I got a second estimate. Turns out my suspicion was correct: not all of the work the manager said was needed was even necessary. The manager simply wanted me to keep spending money. Consequently, I took my business elsewhere. The work that was actually needed was done at a shop that gives honest estimates---Maurice Hi-Tech Auto, 57 Harper, Detroit, MI.

I walked in on memorial day with my tire that blew on my car the night before. They were the only shop open in the area and they were able to get my tire replaced and balanced in under 20 minutes. The women that wrote my invoice was friendly and reassuring and the technician that did the work was fast and efficient. I will happily come back to pep boys in the future to get my auto work done!

This was my first time visiting this place. I went here to get my oil changed. I scheduled an appointment through their online website, which was fast, easy, and convenient. Parts department is usually well stocked, but the service department is bad. Got tires there and an alignment. Went to pull out onto Gratiot and almost hit the curb. My truck pulled hard to the left and was almost undriveable. Got it circled around and almost an hour later it was ready to go they said. Still pull to left now but very mild. They might be ok for an oil change or something simple but I’d never get anything complex done here

When I had service done the price was competitive, service was quick, and its nice that if they need a part they can walk over and get it rather than a mechanic having to wait for it to arrive. Typical Pep Boys store - a little dark and dirty compared to the newer (but smaller) Advance Auto Parts locations.

Started with me thinking that the person that was doing the write up was a little rude kinda rushed me off. I stayed calm and took a seat in the waiting room, I had my 2yr old grandson with me the wait was a little long I was having my turn singles and back light replaced when he did return he had smile on his face gave me my keys and said your lights are all working now and have a nice day. The wait was not that bad I had to get 3 lights replaced everything was fine and free so I guess they do treat women right. We sometimes have to have a little patient. Thank you Pep Boys ...

I took my car here for a oil change paid over 60 bucks set in the waiting room over a hour waiting they put a sticker in my window gave me my car they did not change my oil they did nothing to my car broke my hood it won’t close don’t take ur cars here I’m very disappointed

Asked for lifetime alignment and wasnt rang up correctly. Was told they couldnt fix it but would note my account for the lifetime service. Called back recently and was told they have no record of the lifetime alignment only the one time service. Ill be taking my vehicle elsewhere if this is the way business is done here.

Today I had a very difficult and very specific part problem and Mary went way out of her way to help and I seriously cant thank her enough! With- in half hour got new wiper blades and they put them on my jeep. But ... At first they told me to go back outside and pull up to bay doors and blow my horn. I did that but no one let me in. Employee was outside at the time came over and helped. Back in to pay then left happy

They are real high, and they are crooks, and you have to watch them, when I took my car to get an wheel alignment, and I got my front suspension put in my car prior to taking my car to them, the machanic told me that he cant give me an alignment and he got put an new suspension in the car before he give me an alignment and he was trying to rip me off.

I own a 2008 dodge caliber. On a recommendation from a co worker I called Pep Boys. They diagnosed my problem as a cracked sub frame and stated that they could fix it. They advised me that it would be approximately a week to track down a new sub frame for my car. I contacted other shops fro a quote on the same job and one stated they couldnt do the job and that I should scrap the car and the other quoted a far higher price for the same job. I am very satisfied with their work. They quickly found the problem, stayed within the agreed upon budget, and timeline. There whole staff from those at the counters to management was helpful and understanding. I will be going back for any future work needed on mine or my wifes car. Thank you.

I come to this location pretty consistently and I would set the appointment online for 8am. Everytime I come in for a pretty simple job Im there for approximately 5 hours every single time. I dont know if the mechanics are taking their sweet time or their short staffed but it cant be like this all the time.

I just had my SUV repaired and the wait wasnt bad. My SUV was repaired and ready to go within 1-2 hrs. Mind you I had more than one thing completed. One request, I used to save my car repair slips in your envelope folders but you stop offering them to your customers. For organizational purposes please bring back the folders.

Great Team here. Things always go smooth at this store; I give a lot of business to all of the popular auto parts stores around here so that says something. Recently I purchased a product from the Eastpointe store with a rebate, the rebate had an issue and Jeff the manager here resolved this issue immediately. Keep up the good work!

The service was great! I made an appointment online for an oil change two hours prior and arrived about 15 minutes early. He informed me on exactly what time he was going to start, and stuck to it. They were done in no more than a half hour & cashed me out quickly. They also fully answered some additional questions I had.

Ive had several bad experiences here, only good thing here is the cute manager Recco over the service area. But other than that, I had one repair that was made that is still lasting but had an issue with my oil light popping on and didnt know why. Next thing I know my car is smoking so bad due to the hose from radiator coming loose... It was fixed but my change oil light still came on. I ended up taking it to the dealership and just plan on going there from now on. It was a stressful and so so experience. The mechanics I encountered with this transaction seemed to be very clueless old men that need to retire. But Im not referring to all the people who work there, just the old men who worked on my car that one time. Oh well, they may do your vehicle better, or worse... Youve been warned either way.

My mechanic at Pep Boys name is Bryant. My first experience with Bryant was when he worked at the Pep Boys on 8 Mile Rd at Grand River, where I had brakes installed all the way around on my daughter car.When we found out that Bryant was now working at this location, we started using this location even though its a further distance, my family travels the extra miles just for expertise service of Bryant, the wonderful mechanic whom we trust with our vehicles old and new. Everyone was so helpful. From testing my battery & cleaning the cables to my purchase of a brand new battery & getting it installed. All of this took place close to closing when you would expect to be rushed, but not these guys...THIS PEP BOYS CREW ROCKS SO HARD! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

The actions of one employee ruined what should have been a routine maintenance check. I’m a Lyft driver and had an appointment to check the brakes on my rental vehicle. Tried explaining this to Rollie who decided he didn’t wanna hear anything I had to say...as soon as he heard me say Lyft, he says “No appointment needed! Fill this out and sit down!!” Again, tried explaining this isn’t a regular maintenance check, my brakes are grinding and I have an appointment. He continued yelling and trying to argue with me when the manager Keith stepped in. I’m not one to post bad reviews...been coming to this store for over ten years...multiple vehicles...one constant. Rollie. If you can’t provide simple respect to your customers perhaps it’s time to retire old man.

Poor customer service, even after a change in management the staff was still rude. I had a vehicle repaired through my warranty and they only did half the work. It took additional month to get the repair correct (sway bar link). If your time is valuable DONT GO HERE

Unfortunately over the last year I have had nothing but issues with this location and I believe they have changed names. But once again a order I had been waiting on for weeks through the website was canceled with no explanation and when I go to the store to find the item to just buy them they say they sent it back. Just stupid customer service

Computer appointments arent aligned with the people who actually WORK at the location. Sadly short staffed, phones werent working and the cashier/assistant at the service desk was left trying to deal with it all. TO Pep Boy Corporate Staff AND upper management: you need to give your front line people the adequate things they need to do their jobs. Why oh why does this app let me make an appointment for repair and then Im told NO WAY TODAY. The phones being out for 3 days as told to me by another worker???? What kind of circus is this?

I made an appointment at 2 pm on a Sunday. Their sales representative told me they were running 30 minutes behind and I said okay no problem. An hour went by and they still had not begun working on my vehicle. Do NOT bring your vehicle here for service. There are better options in the metro Detroit area. They are understaffed and do not pride themselves on customer service.

Anthony and his team keep my car on the road for an affordable price, there is almost always a coupon for service. There has only been one time that they werent able to fix my car in 1 day and that was because the supplier delivered the wrong part the times in one day. If youre not already a rewards member, sign up and get coupons sent to your house & email!

Pep Boys have very good prices. And they price match.But, if you do go in for Tires or Rims or an Oil change, its going to be a LONG wait! Because, they are always back up. They may need some more employees in this department.

I set an appointment online to buy 2 tires. When arrived at the service & tire counter i explained that I had a appointment. The employee aggressively stated it would be an 2 hour wait. When I asked about where was the Manager because it didnt make sense to me to have an appointment then be told it would be a 2 hour wait. Then the older gentleman softened stating my car would be next.

I came in for a Lyft inspection and the staff was very rude and unprofessional. I asked for a pen and an associate damn near threw it at me. I was waiting in line to speak to someone while the store associates were showing each other Halloween pictures. Nice nasty attitudes. I only came to this one because it was closest to me but next time Im willing to go out my way instead of coming back here.

Went there due to tire being popped by a pot hole. Having a Mercedes with low profile tires.. its the inevitable in Michigan.. Told me the rim and tires would need to be replaced. Mind you my tires are only available online and they dont/wouldnt order my specific tire. Treated me like I was incompetent and didnt know anything about cars. My boyfriend was there with me and needed his BMW run flats done but they dont do those tires and if he did want tires he would have to order all 4 new ones. They also told him there was a hole in his tire that was unplugable. Funny that I could do it myself in less than 10 minutes. Dont ever go to this location or pep boys/ belle tire or any big auto store their sales people not auto mechanics.. Coming from a sales person myself, being rude and treating your clients like their dumb probably isnt going to earn their business... Heres a thought hire actual mechanics.. Lol never going to any pep boys location EVER again. Literally disgusted. Just because I have nice things doesnt mean Im dumb enough to pay these people to f up my car.

I was treated very poorly by the heavy set guy. He talked down to me because I didnt want to buy the whole box of 20 x Shield Retainers (Dorman 700-085) as the website said you could buy them individually at .19 cents a piece. I only brought enough money for 2 Retainers and an extra $3 to buy some soda on the way home. He told me you own a car and dont have any money? I laughed nervously because I didnt expect to be talked down like that. Then he said thats something I wouldnt be laughing about. The only good thing about the experience is that Kelli who rung me up was very nice unlike the rude heavy set guy. Hes needs to learn how to talk to customers. If Pep Boys allows an employee to talk down to a customer like that then Ill never shop there again. I already made a complaint to Pep Boys corporate and I urge Vince Vyvyan terminate the employee who treated me so poorly. Thats the least they can do!

I went into the store on 2/23/2018. I brought 4 new tires, and had them put on. Needless to say I was back in the store on 2/24/2018. The back tire keeps going flat on me. When I returned to the store, they simply checked it, and put more air in it. Now its 2/25/2018 and I go to leave the house, and its flat again. NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO BUSINESS WITH PEP BOY. I WILL BE STICKING TO BELL TIRES

I made a 4:00 appointment for an oil change. I arrived a 3:10. The lady working the desk at the service area was on the phone with an unsatisfied customer for ten minutes. She apologized for my wait. She told me it was good I was early because they had 3 cars booked at 4. So after checking in the waiting began. The waiting room was full. At 5:50 my car still hadnt been pulled in. I got my keys and left . A wasted afternoon . I have too many things Im responsible for to waste that much time of my day off to not accomplish anything. Never again. And, this morning I got an email from them saying sorry I couldnt make my appointment, call and reschedule. Smh

Great all-around parts store but I still go to United Autoall them guys in Roseville on Gratiot United Auto parts I would say is the superstore and they know about everything on a car even machine work they have a full setup machine shop in United Auto parts.
