My long time mechanic closed his doors forever during the pandemic so I’ve been looking for someone else to service the family fleet. Found Andy and his shop online and had him complete a full exhaust set up and all new suspension on my 2004 Tundra. You can just tell Andy is a straight shooter. Did what he said, communicated back and forth via text with photos and videos to ensure clarity on what was being done or not. Cool guy, I will use him again and definitely recommend. Cost was fair and upfront. You get what you pay for. I paid for knowledge, insight and guidance on my options. Truck sounds, looks, rides great....

Took my 2013 Hyundai Elantra in this morning, my first time to this place, and Im impressed. I needed to have my car serviced before going on a business trip to Vegas for work. Andy did a full work up of my car, prioritized repairs in order of need, and had everything done in just a few hours. He and his son went out of their way to pick up parts from Hyundai on the weekend to make sure I had it back the same day. When I came to pick it up he explained all the details and showed me pictures of my car as it was repaired, as well as the parts he replaced. He also told me what to expect for my next service and explained what he thought would need to be repaired during my next visit based on their current wear. On top of all this, my car is driving better now than the last few times I picked it up from a mechanic. The whole time I was treated like a valued customer, and he was mindful of the cost of the repairs. Ill definitely be heading back for my next service.

Andy and his other worker were great. Came in to get an aftermarket resonator installed. Was in and out in about 35-40mins. Very knowledgeable and great customer service. Cant wait to come back and get my exhaust system set up!

Andy was super patient and answered all of my questions without getting frustrated and I know for a fact that hes real busy. Every time I called the shop, he answered and was open to explaining why he had suggested certain parts or doing the work a certain way.Quality WorkAndy saved my transmission from blowing. I knew something was off when I could feel the 4Runner start skipping a bit in 1st gear - I brought it right in to Andy, he diagnosed the issue, explained what the issue was and what his recommendation to fix the problem would be and why - he explains it in a way that makes sense and also helps me understand the mechanical operations of my own vehicle that I take pride in. Service was as good as could be expected at a car shop. Nobody likes spending money to fix their car but I felt that the work that was done was necessary and I liked how it was not only explained to me but he showed me the parts that were replaced. It is a father and son business and its been around for some time and I always like to support my local businesses. He got the work done in a timely manner

For my first time here, I had a very good experience. Everyone was friendly and the service was quick. I came in for an oil change and they ended up offering me a free tire rotation. Along with that, they refilled my coolant and windshield fluid as well. I also would like to mention that they’re super honest and don’t try to charge you for anything that you don’t need. :) Definitely will be coming back for future maintenance needs.

I went in there yesterday and he was very nice and educational and even showed me what the problem was and what it will take to fix the problem. Not only did he fix my problem he did it quick and showed me what he did and his prices are great! Made me feel good and safe to be able to see my issues and see it after he fixes it. I started having problems with my truck approximately 3 months ago. My engine began to stall randomly after driving for about 20 minutes or so. Obviously embarrassing and inconvenient, but the fact that this would happen on the freeway made it downright dangerous! I hate to bore you with the details of this issue but I will say that it resulted in numerous tows and repairs from different mechanics at different shops that would quickly prove to be ineffective. Each of these ‘repairs’ cost individually between $350-$500.The situation grew more frustrating for me being that the engine would display no lights or codes to give any clues or context as to what was happening and causing it to stall. Long story less long, three shops, three mechanics and about $1500 later, I was no closer to my car being fixed or the problem resolved, despite my best attempts to maneuver through this terrible ordeal and obtain some sort of resolution. I was literally at a wits end.I called The Auto Center and spoke to Andy after calling innumerable shops in the San Diego area. I explained my situation in detail and of all the shops Andy was the only one who was convincing enough for me to trust. His initial attentiveness and knowledge made me willing to try once again to get to the bottom of the issue and I’ll be damned if he didn’t!Andy explained the process by which he would use to properly diagnose my truck and rule out each different hypothesis. I think it’s also important to note I was updated daily on the progress and findings. He thoroughly explained everything he suspected, tried, and what the results were. He ruled out trouble in the fuel system and then the electrical system. He duplicated the circumstances that would cause the engine to fail by actually DRIVING the truck and having the engine fail multiple times. He ultimately was able to obtain information from the engine that there was a timing issue that was super rare and intermittent. Bad news for me? You bet! But I’m a big boy. I can handle it. Besides, I went there specifically looking to get to the bottom of the issue. Andy had figured out something three other mechanics could not!I have been living in this town for 16 years. I’ve never had a mechanic or a shop that I would feel compelled to write a review for. Us consumers often tell folks about our bad experiences over and over but rarely highlight the positive attributes of a business.The Auto Center exhibits professionalism to the highest degree! They’re talented, well organized, attentive, and patient with their customers! They give you quality face time (or phone time) allowing you to ask whatever questions you need to ask, while thoroughly explaining things to you. This guy doesn’t beat around the bush, nor does he cut corners! Andy is honest and fair which a lot of shops profess but rarely live up to. You’re gonna get the service tended to your vehicle that he likely would tend to his own! I’d bet whatever on that! The shop is even open on Saturdays! If I can say anything about this shop is that you’re not likely to find one in the area that can match the professionalism and service that you’re going to get at The Auto Center. Ive been using Andy at the Auto Center for over 18 years. He is a great mechanic. I have recommended numerous friends and family to him. Andy gives you options. Its not a out of the book estimate. If the book says its a three hour job and he can get it done in two, then he only charges for two. He is very honest and he actually has integrity. A hard to find trait these days. He also gives you the option to use factory parts or aftermarket, personally I like this about him. he works clean and efficiently. Andy has done oil changes to complete motor swaps for me. He stands behind his work.

I was referred by my brother Carlos because I had a huge water leak coming from the driver’s side of my car. Turns out, a new water pump and timing belt were needed. So my brother does me the favor and takes it in for me and to my surprise it was already ready the next day. Once I arrive Andy gave me a very detailed overview of what he did and why he did it and unlike other mechanics, he won’t do extra unnecessary work to get some dollars out of you. While he showed me what he did to the car he even did a couple of things that I never even asked for such as putting away and zipping together wires so nothing wrong happens in the future FOR FREE. I’m 19 and a college student and I never would’ve thought I’d find my trusted mechanic this early in my life. I’m definitely taking my car (and all future cars) to Andy because after helping me with my car that well, there’s not another mechanic I want touching it.

I recently came across this place bc my moms car broke down and she needed me to find a affordable place to take her car to. Now I usually like to fix my stuff in my own, but I dont mess when it comes to cars so I brought her car here and was very satisfied with the results. She had some overheating issues and the car is really old so I didnt want to deal with selling it. Figured i better fix it. I am glad I dont have to worry bout her car for a while. It will hopefully run for few more years before she needs a new one. This place was close to me, prices good, and car now running great and most importantly my moms happy

I read many reviews of many places before I decided to come here to have my A/C unit checked out. Everything that is said about Andy, the mechanic, is spot on. He was very knowledgeable, explained and showed me what was wrong and promptly took care of it. He even helped me out financially, seeing as I was a bit low on funds, due to it being near the end of the month. He adjusted his services to where I could afford it. Thats above and beyond service! He did not try to sell me other services or parts, like other places have in the past. He simply wanted to help get my car fixed and he did. His honesty and concern for the customer is what will have me coming back in the future for all my auto needs!

Andy has been a life-saver and money-saver for years. He fixed my old car and helped it run far longer than I thought it could. When my car was overheating, he explained the problem and fixed it, instead of trying to blame the problem on other things like the dealer tried to do. I tried for hours to get my exhaust off because of a stripped bolt, took it to shops and they wanted to charge me double what these guys charged and it only took 20 minutes to remove 2 stripped bolts and install my new exhaust.
