Tropicana is hands down the best diner Ive ever been to. Ive been coming here for years and always been beyond satisfied with the food and the service. everything is always fresh and tasty. they have the best waffles Ive ever had and their pastas and burgers are just as delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone who hasnt tried them out!

Great place to eat breakfast with the family. The menu has tons of options. Large portions with affordable price! You must try the Elizabeth eggs Benedict.

Comfortable place. Good food. But service was slow. First waited 20 mins after being seated and then ordered with waiter. Food comes a little longer. And then food comes with out your utensils. Shouldnt utensils come first before anything and napkins. No napkins were served and utensils reminded. Food was good. Might come back again for a second review.

The Food is Alwayz Good As Well As The Service and The Prices are Reasonable

Reliable for good late night food. Once all the Spanish places closes down, this is the place to go. Recommend the Colombianisimo, its their version of the Bandeja Paisa.

Ive been here about 3 times. Its a good enough location to eat periodically but I wouldnt take anyone there to impress. Everything they is average. Average food, average customer service. Average menu.. Best pay off this Diner is that it isnt expensive

I love this place. I ordered the usual chicken parmigiana and it was delicious. My friend ordered the meatloaf and that was also tasty. Tropicana always gives great customer service and serves very delicious food.

I want to start off by saying I am highly dissapointed in the service I received this past Saturday. The food was terrible. I am a lifelong customer and have never had an experience at Tropicana Diner like I did this day. It seems like there are a lot of new employees and possibly as well as the cook. The food I ordered as well as my familys food had absolutely no flavor and had an off taste. That being said later on that night our stomach were all in pain and messede up. The food was so harsh that we could not even finish it. Its a shame because this was one of my familys local favorite spots to go. With that being said I probably will not return and waste my money again. It only takes one bad experience to ruin it forever. So dissapointing!!

My family and I love Tropicana we have eaten here for several years. We also have a tradition after church on New Years Eve to come eat at Tropicana. My experience yesterday was nothing but SUPERB. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and the food is IMPECCABLE! The staff sung Happy Birthday to me and gave me a cake. They helped kick off my Birthday weekend. Good food and friendly service

The food is tasty. The atmosphere is nice as well. The partitions to protect against Covid are garbage. They dont cover the actual area they are supposed to cover. Therefore there Is no social distancing.

OMG! The food is next level diner food! So good... So fresh... So tasty... With a Twist! Try the cowboy fries! The best desserts ever! The wait staff is cordial and friendly and they get it right on purpose.

Recently went with a group of friends for breakfast. The portions are very generous (see picture below) and the food was very good. I decided to have the eggs benedict and they did not disapoint. The ambience is good. Usually lots of people but you get your privacy which is nice. The staff is very, very friendly and there is plenty of parking outside. We had a nice time. Although I did not try them, I also saw that there are lots of desserts to choose from so its nice if youre looking for a place to just go have cake and coffee or something like that.

What the heck is going on in this place? Im a life long resident of Elizabeth and have been coming here since they opened but havent been here in over a month. When I came in today with my wife, I immediately said something is not right. We waited 5 mins for someone to finally acknowledge we were standing right in front of them. Every single employee was different and seemed very young. The place must of had only about 7 tables occupied so not very busy. We were seated with no words said. After seeing the young staff walking back and forth as if the place was packed and no one even saying to us that someone would be with us shortly or something, my wife and I left after waiting 25mins. We didnt even have anybody come over to give us water. This was never the case even with the place full. Ownership change must be the reason. We walked right past the group of 3 who were at the register including the person who sat us and crickets is all you heard on our way out. My only regret doing this review is that I wish I had given previous ownership a 5 star review before giving this one. I doubt very highly its the same owner. If I ever decide to go back, I will be calling 1st to find out if same owner and they asking to speak to him as Ive spoken to him before and know who he is. Right now all I can say is I hope this place is an example of how not to run a food business and wish they turn things around quickly or this will be another great place that closes for reasons that were affected by the pandemic.

OMG This place was so awesome. The food was so good. Service was great. I had spaghetti 🍝 and meatballs it was so Delicious. The portion was great. The best spaghetti and balls i had since i moved to Elizabeth. I will definitely come here every week this is my new spot.

Wonderful friendly staff. Service was quick and food was good. They get packed so had to flag down the waiter. Food is definitely generous portions however needed a bit more flavor. Definitely had to break out the pepper and hot sauce to dress it up a bit.

Staff was excellent. Friendly nice and very Jersey. Ordered the pork chops meal..came with ceaser salad...2 chops cooked very well....garlic potatos and very good sautee spinach with whole garlic chunks. Also comes with a dessert. Very good..very well done. Highly recommend!

This is the best diner I’ve been to by far! Evita made the experience absolutely amazing and memorable! I went with my partner and we wanted to share an entree and dessert. She was so great in helping is decide what to get between two paninis and didn’t sugar coat anything. The Mediterranean panini was great! Evita also split the meal in half so we each had our own plate. Then with dessert she also gave us her opinion and even split the cake into two plates for us! The red velvet was delicious! Evita if you see this, you’re the best and most amazing server ever! (I asked her a million questions and she was so patient!) You made my day and gave me a wonderful dining experience! Wait time was practically nothing and food is nicely priced.

This diner is always open and always welcoming. You are greeted when you walk in and sent to be seated in a place that feels homey. Servers arent rude, and wait time is appropriate. Definitely see myself going back again.

I enjoy eating in this place. They take your order fast, deliver it fast too and the most important the food has good quality, it is tasty and the portions are worth their prices. Sure, Ill recommend this restaurant.

So I’ve always had an amazing experience at this lovey diner. The problem isn’t the diner itself. More so the staff. It has always felt like home. Everyone is super respectful and friendly. However, recently it has come to my attention that there is a new waitress that I’ve never seen before. She is slim, tall, and speaks both English and Spanish. One particular day she was taking my boyfriends order as well as my own. She continuously kept on giving her attention towards him and not me as a customer. As she came back around a few more times she only asked him if he needed anything else and completely ignored me. The whole entire time she only payed attention to my boyfriend instead of myself which I thought was rude since I wanted something to else to drink.My mother had a similar experience with this lady as well yesterday. She went to celebrate with a family friend’s son for his graduation. This waitress came to take everyone’s order and said that him graduating from High School didn’t mean anything. She said that when he decides to graduate from somewhere important to come back again and let her know so that then she could congratulate him. This is very unprofessional and should not have been said at all. He also ordered 2 plates of food and she told him why 2. That it is too much food for him since he is pretty slim. She was noticeably angry with him ordering 2 large plates. She was not the one paying for the food…From what I’ve seen here is that a waitress and waiter should always be respectful and polite whenever there is a customer. We’ve noticed that she was mostly polite with anyone that is NOT Hispanic. She’s been kind with anyone that is black, white, and etc. But when it came to us it was as if she did not care and treated us unfairly. We did not leave a tip in both occasions because it was not deserved. She should be taught the right way of treating people especially in customer service no matter who it is.Everyone else in this diner is truly amazing and deserve every bit of recognition but ever since she’s been working here it has made all of my friends and family not feel welcome.

The poor service at this diner is why I give it 4 stars. Many waiters/waitresses are not helpful whatsoever. Not thoughtful at all and make you feel like you are bothering them, like something as mundane as simply asking for utensils. They do not work well together as I constantly have to ask another server to get me what I need. Nonetheless some of their servers are great, but that doesn’t come close to the food. The food here is outstanding and is one of the best diners in the county, food wise. I’d give it a 3.5 if I could, due to the lackluster service.

This is the number 1 dinner, great food, nice size plate for your money. Guaranteed to leave full and satisfied. Many great plates to choose from. All are good and the people are good as well.

First of all, I walked in before an Asian couple and was seated first. After that my waitress greeted the Asian couple and asked them what they wanted to drink. After getting their drink order she walks back to me to ask for mines. Shouldn’t she have asked for my drink order before seating them?? Ok not a big deal. But when I do get my food, there was a piece of hair in my eggs 🤦🏾‍♀️ After that I was done. That’s really disgusting! I won’t ever eat here again!

Check your orders. Picked up 52$ of food. All 3 orders were wrong. All 3 fries were to have mozzarella instead I got 3 fries with yellow paste. When I called back they told me to bring them back. I ordered steak, I guess Im supposed to eat that cold once I return with my correct order. Then he said to download an app to eliminate human error. That is your job.

Always love coming here and the food is flavorful. I had the chipotle chicken quesadilla and the Hawaiian coffee (dont forget to stir this one, the syrup is all at the bottom) Great place to come by for a quick bite. Food was served quickly and the waitress had a great personality.

Unfortunately tonight I had ordered pancakes with a side of bacon, when it was brought out there was a fly on them. Asked the waiter for a new order, he went back and just moved the bacon to where the fly was originally and re-served me the same pancakes.

Professional, clean, courteous, kind, proficient, wrapped utensils, all of our needs met, and the food was really good. Could do without hearing profanity from a counter waitress across the way while eating but, four stars nevertheless! I would give it five stars under normal circumstances in the future. I went to this restaurant for the first time. Passed by for years and was eager to try. I ordered a Chicken Ceasar salad. THESE sobs charged me $20.00!!! Im not frugal by a long shot, to rub salt in a whom, it was horrible. I shouldve kept driving like I did for years!!!! Never again.

Do not order the Honey fried chicken salad, whoever is the back of the kitchen at night they are lazy cooks. Keep the day cooks and get new night cooks asap. No,spring mix regularly salad taste better. Order for pick up. The food isnt bad but the service for eat in is horrible. Ruined my whole day. I got served wrong drink and after waiting almost 30 min. I decided to get up and leave since no one came to take my order. The diner is empty which honestly is more upsetting because how am I made to wait that long before ordering when it isnt even busy. Gave 2 stars because its not the Chefs fault. The food is good but everything else is poor. Just order for pick up.
