My experience with AES was great from start to finish. The gentleman that answered the phone was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I set up an appointment to drop off my engine and finalize my build. It was done in a very timely manner given what was needed to be done and I was very impressed. I was called right away for pick up when it was ready, and even had small chat with one of the engine builders that worked on my engine. Great experience from start to finish I would definitely recommend! Thanks AES you have earned a customer for life!

Guys did a great job !! Brought a small block in for a mild mannered 383 build last year...still running strong in the Caminio...I since sold the car to my Brother in law. Changing things up a bit this time. Dropping of a 1600 cc VW dune buggy motor next month. Swapping out the 85.5 pistons for 90.5s...some head work and a Engle 110 cam... should be fun !

Had an engine built and paid for a matching cam and flowed heads. Never got paperwork verifying or a cam card. Was told they were misplaced and Id have to figure it out. This information was requested every other weeks for months and then periodically for a couple of years after the build because I kept being told they had them and would send them. Eventually, I was told the records were not retained for that timeframe. In addition, the build took nearly 6 months longer to build than I was originally quoted. I would call weekly for updates, but was clearly being ignored by the builder with limited to no communication as to what was happening or why the build was being pushed out. Im giving 2 stars because Ive finally been able to crank the engine and its fired and running with limited run time. I will update later on additional results.

Said it would take 2-3 weeks. After 5 months of B.S. and endless excesses I told them I will be coming in for my stuff, and they said it would then be done by the next day. Had to have all the work redone after three races at a much much better shop in Wauconda at 1/4 the price. Now I am at two seasons with no problems. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SHOP.

I took my lt1 to AES for them to install the cam and 383 stroker. They did very well. 2 years later it still runs great. Thank you! I have another project for them soon.

I took a 455 to these guys and they charge me $8000 to do it witch Im not worry about the price at all,Im more mad that they lied to me told me they put a list of good parts in my car and charge me for them, then I had a lifter collapse and they wouldnt do nothing about it the motor has not even 100miles on it.so long story short I took the car apart they put non name brand lifters in my car and all different push rod in my car then charge me said the put all compation stuff in my car.this shop is a joke and Id never take another car there or tell anyone too

Idk if these guys should be in business at all. Called them up to see if I could get my 4.6 DOHC engine re-assembled that I had just gotten back from the machine shop... first answer from him to me? Im not taking responsibility for someone elses machine work if someThing goes wrong. He made me feel like my engine was en-route for failure. Anyways he quoted me $1,000 for labor.. got quoted 1,500 at sams one stop in Addison, il and they where excited about the project! Now thats the attitude I like to see.. not some old fart attitude. Lost my business due to your crappy mood. Never make the customer feel this way, you wont get far.

Dropped a Subaru block off for boring (not many places can machine them). Said 3ish weeks until theyd get to it (told them Im not in a hurry). Call back in 3 weeks and they said theyre working on it. Called me when it was done. Everything as promised and had no issues after assembly (clearances, etc). Would/will do work with then again.

The owner never took responsibility or control of the work his people did on my engine. Had an easy 350 small block increase of HP. After they quoted me $7k to increase HP to 300 0r 325hp, they hit me with another $1,300 to put in a stall convertor, which should have been Included in the intital price. Once they installed said convertor my transmission leaked and didnt stop leaking despite taking it back in o hem to fix TWICE!!!! Now I have to take it to another transmission guy to find THEIR mistake since it didnt leak a drop until their specialists put in said convertor that still does not feel as if any HP has been increased. Trusted and paid them good money that took 6months for a simple rebuild. Never received list and costs of work and parts. For as much as they charged youd expect a quality product and better customer service. Sadly only mediocre at best.

Brought a set of heads to AES to be repaired. Told me repair would cost $300-$500. After 6 months of waiting for the repair to be completed and endless inconveniences, I go in to take the heads elsewhere, not only do they quote me $1200 for incomplete repairs they physical assaulted me and it doesnt end there. Customers BEWARE!!!Please contact me with further questions if needed.

Terrible experience. Cost overruns, missed deadlines, non-existent communication. Engine has un-natural valvetrain noise, leaks oil and coolant. Never again. If I could rate less than 1 star, I would.
