Whole process, from assisting us designing our new front door to frequently updating us about the progress of our order to scheduling installation deserves full 5 stars !Doors are solid built and of high quality materials.The small glitch was with the long wait for our doors to be build and delivered (6 months actual vs. 12-14 weeks) but that was not the fault of this company but rather the global COVID pandemic. We have a newer custom home that I built myself. We reclaimed a solid wood door that weighed almost 300 pounds. After a few years of kids slamming the door, we developed cracks. Big cracks! We searched for a long time for a door manufacture. We knew it would be expensive because we literally built our opening around the reclaimed door.We went a few more years, purchased a custom screen door for $3800, and then went a few more years. Finally, this year I had enough with the cold air coming into the house.I previously corresponded with Sandra when I was looking for a door builder and she provided a rough estimate. Two years had passed and I called her up and was ready to move forward. Sandra explained every option to us. PROs and CONS. I was so excited, I scheduled another appointment to have my wife with me. We only needed an hour to pick our door, the finish, and the hardware. And yes, it is expensive! Its a custom measure and fabricated door.I also paid to have them install the door. Sandra gave us all the information on how our warranty works, how to best care for the door, information on adding the screen back, and how the sun could potential effect the door. We understood all of this.The door took a long time to come in 5-6 months. A little aggravating, but not unbearable. For $10K, we wanted the door to be right.The install was excellent! The touch-up crew was fantastic! And well, the door is amazing!Two issues for us, walking around the back area shop can be overwhelming:). And we dont have other doors that need replacing because I would do the process again!

We purchased our newly built home 5 years ago and we knew the front door was NOT the quality we wanted. Then the winter came and you could literally see air gabs around the door, so needless to say the cold air came streaming in. We knew we needed to replace the door, so our architect referred us to Doors for Builders. My husband (engineer) and I (interior designer) have had multiple home rehab projects over the past 20 years and working with Daniel at Doors for Builders has been literally the best experience. The pricing was fair based upon the outstanding quality, process was painless and the installer was a professional. We are so happy and not sure why we waited so long! The door not only looks like the beautiful piece of jewelry on our home but also functions perfectly. I would highly recommend Doors for Builders if you are looking to add the perfect finishing touch to your home.

We purchased our doors from doors for Builders back in June. Daniel is the sales representative that helped us. We showed him pictures of our home and my husband told him we have a wider frame so we would need 6 1/2. Last week we put up the doors and noticed that the door frame was 4 1/2. My husband tried calling Daniel the whole day to let him know we need an extension since what we have is too small. He left a message for Daniel to call back. Today my husband finally got a hold of Daniel and he had told my husband that we never let him know that, they dont do door frames 6 1/2 that they have extensions if they need to be longer. He was telling my husband that he has been doing this a long time and that he never makes mistakes, that he would have told us that we need the extension and just pretty much putting the blame on us. Now, because we were not told this in the beginning I have to drive over an hour to purchase the door extension for $200. I do not care about paying the extra $200 my whole point is that Daniel was not professional at all when we told him about this. I myself work in a customer service field for over 15 years and from all my years of experience, you listen to the customer and apologize even if it was a miscommunication, you do not put the blame on the customer and say its your fault and that I did my job correctly, I dont make mistakes. There was no, ok maybe we can deliver it for you or ship it to you, provide some kind of options but he didnt. Now I have to go out of my way, drive an hour or so and go purchase it. If he would have told us this in the beginning everything could have been delivered when the door was delivered. I am very disappointed in the service that we received after the sale pretty much. Sale was made and the service after the fact doesnt seem to apply to Daniel.

After months of searching the internet and calling different companies I choose Doors For Builders to purchase a new front door for a new home construction. From start to finish there was solid communication and sharing of information about the product and the ordering process. It was apparent that Daniel and his team knew what they were talking about. I ordered an 8 foot x 3 foot door with Aluminum Cladding and long black handle. The door arrived on time and far exceeded my expectations. After searching for months on end to find a company to work with us on a custom design for our entry door we discovered Doors for Builders. We decided to take a trip to their showroom in Chicago. It was worth the trip to see the business and meet face to face with our sales and design rep. We couldnt be happier with the results and the whole experience. The entire process from our initial call to the final delivery of the door couldnt have been more professional. We had the privilege to work with Daniel Biodrowicz on our custom project. Daniel was very professional and a great person to work with. I would highly recommend him. He did the preliminary and final design showing the doors intricate design details leaving us no doubt exactly the product which we would ultimately receive. He explained the entire process to us to make sure that we were satisfied every step of the way. It did take several months to get the doors which we ordered since they were made in Guetemala, but it was entirely worth the wait. We couldnt have been happier with the quality and craftsmanship of the door. I was even impressed with the shipping crates and packaging. Obviously great care was taken to ensure that the doors would be delivered without a scratch. In the end we couldnt be more happy and would not even consider any other company for custom doors or any other doors for that matter.

I ordered a very complex 90 wide door in glass and mahogany. Door arrived with some delays (normal for present economic conditions) which were communicated in a timely manner by Daniel Biodrowicz, my POC at Doors for Builders. Door was installed and fitted seamlessly into the door opening. Both my wife and I are extremely satisfied with quality, fit, overall appearance and functionality of the new door. Great experience and fantastic product. We ordered a custom front door.. 8 tall, 40 wide and 2.75 thick with beveled glass sidelights -- the door is really massive and absolutely perfect. The door was built in Europe, Poland I believe so it took a bit of time but was well worth wait. Craftsmanship was top notch and their ability to replicate the design was excellent. Our new front door looks amazing. We visited Doors for Builders on several ocassions and always felt they were very professional and friendly during each visit to their showroom. We worked with Ivan who was very patient and walked us through the sales process resulting in a new front door that was an excellent fit for our budget and style of our home. Now that the door is installed, the quality and look are exactly what we had hoped for. We decided to go with a more costly mortise lock configuration instead of a cylinder lock, but glad we did. The door has a great feel when it is opened and closed, very solid!We would definitely recommend Doors for Builders for any of our friends and colleagues.On a sidenote, our custom kitchen cabinet maker installed the door and he too was very impressed by the quality and construction of the door.
