Great knowledge, selection, and prices. Staff is always friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that like most FFL’s they don’t follow the 3 day transfer law on delayed background checks. Last time I purchased a gun here it took 3 weeks.Reply to owner’s reply: I can appreciate that you err on the side of caution. However obeying the 3 day transfer law wouldn’t jeopardize your business at all. Obviously you don’t have to, but you absolutely can without repercussions.

I primarily visit Mazama Sporting Goods for their great selection of firearms (hand guns and rifles) and ammunition. They also carry a wide range of firearm accessories. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you visit, its very likely you will leave with something you need. You might even leave with something you dont need!

Well I lost track of how many times Ive been in this place, too bad they dont offer punch cards! I always find the staff helpful and the customer service is exemplary. I have bought several firearms related items and been satisfied every single time. There isnt a single person staff member that I havent been satisfied with. Prices are competitive, stock is usually pretty well. COVID has made every ones stock pretty much disappear. This place is one of the few gun/ fishing related stores in Eugene so support them well!

Ive shopped here a number of times, the staff has always been helpful and receptive. In particular, the gunsmith Erik McCluskey helped me build my AR. I had spent ~a year specing out each part and exhaustively researching each part. Over half of the parts I had purchased online, but he was totally cool with it. I believe that people bring in all types of stuff to the build table at mazamas. Erik walked me through every little step and made sure everything was perfect. He was very complementary of what I had picked out, reassuring me that everything was going to work together. This wasnt a milspec build, everything was upgraded. The upper/lower/handguard/buffer were all Aero Enhanced, CMC trigger, Hogue grip, BA Henson .223wyld stainless barrel, and a push button safety switch. Despite all being good quality name brand stuff, the barrel needed some polishing to fit into the upper. Im so glad I didnt try to put together myself at home, because this wouldve stopped me dead in my tracks. Erik shrugged and took it in the back and had it ready to slide in, within minutes. All in all, my experience was really positive, and my rifle is perfect. Ive run ~500rds through it with zero problems. Id have shot more but ammunition is tricky to find right now with all this covid madness. This is the first gun Ive ever built, but certainly not the last. Im already picking out parts for a pistol build.

These guys have always been good to me. Only minus one star because I feel like they do not have enough staff for the busy days. I like that they are very friendly and straight forward, never felt like they were pushing something on me that I didnt want.

My absolute favorite sporting goods store in town. Always super attentative and make sure every customer is helped extremely quickly even if they are already busy helping someone else. Great selection of firearms as well as fishing supplies, knives, etc. If Im ever looking for something I always call or visit mazamas first. They give very fair values on trade-ins as well and if they arent interested in buying it believe me they can point you in the direction of someone who will. They help personalize and even work on your firearms. If they cant do it then they refer you to someone who can and at a reasonable price at that. I have been in quite a few times, usually just range items and magazines. They are helpful and I havent experienced the typical gun store snobbery here. The selection of weapons,tools,accessories is consistent and the staff has always helped out when I have a question. All in all its a good place to go no matter your experience level.

Been here a couple of times and the staff are super knowledgeable and helpful. I traded in a gun and was able to get something more my style. They even had a left handed holster, and the gunsmith was able to switch the magazine release button over for the gun I got to be easier to use left handed. People there were nice. I don’t know a lot about guns but didn’t feel like they were annoyed or talking down to me while answering questions. Will definitely be back!

The person who helped me was courteous, professional, and recommended what he felt was best. When I checked the reviews on the firearm I chose, it had a great reputation and strong recommendations, which I found based on his advice. He helped me pick out a holster that protected the trigger and got me ammo. For my first purchase of a gun, this is a place I’d go again. I talked to my gun owning friends after and they all said that the gentleman who helped me was giving the best advice. This is now my store for when I plan purchase guns and ammo. You’ve made a customer for life!

First time in and I really like this establishment. Bought a FN 509c and some other stuff. I really appreciated the service that Alex provided. I had been searching for a specific rifle for some time, and noticed that Mazama had posted a YouTube video featuring said rifle a couple of months back.I gave them a call, and it ends up that they still had one in stock. Ryan and Erin were both very helpful and accommodating despite the fact that my order was not a typical situation.In my experience, its rare to find such courtesy and professionalism not only in the firearms industry, but in any industry.The people of Eugene, OR are lucky to have you.

I usually just read comments not make them on public forums. That being said, I recently visited this store and was very pleased with the inventory. They carry items and manufacturers that you wouldnt typically find in most stores. So, when I walked in the store my eyes saw nothing but candy in every direction. However, when I started a dialog with a smaller, darker haired employee i found he was very unhelpful. I think he must have been insulted after I told him he wasnt my type, and my wife was better looking. Sorry, not interested just kidding. All joking aside, he was very negative and unhelpful. I wanted to purchase AR parts and possibly a shotgun. To every question I had there was a short affirmative nope but after he commented we discourage our costumers from buying those I thought F this place and left with my family. Learn some customer service bud, you almost got a 2k sale!

Let me start by saying that I have went into mazama a few times since I wrote a negative review, because they tend to be stocked pretty well, and supply and demand has been at a all time high. I would like to get a hold of the owner to explain my disgruntlement and explain to him what I saw in his shop when I wrote the review and give him a reasonable explanation. He contacted me through social media and I am no longer on social media. The last dozen times I have went in to ask questions/purchase things have been extremely pleasant.

Bought a 17wsm from them. There employee said the rifle came with an extra clip. When I picked up the rifle the guy behind the counter got really defensive when I asked for my extra clip. These folks arent to trustworthy go somewhere else it was a terrible experience overall. Update: I really am disappointed with your response. I am telling the gods honest truth . Your employee is dishonest. Wasn’t rude either, just asked for what your employee said came with the rifle. Instead you feel it justified to personally attack my character. I ordered a shotgun online, they called me when it was there. I went in and signed paperwork, got a soft case, got out all in less than 20 minutes. They were out of the ammo I was looking for, but thats not unusual for the caliber I needed. Great experience.

I recently bought my first brand new firearm from the Mazama online store, then went in yesterday (12-22-19) to ask about hand grips and to buy a few more Christmas presents. At one point I had two staffers helping me at once, which was kinda awesome. I am a repeat customer, a Veteran, and a Mazama fan! Here are just a few of the Christmas gifts I bought (also bought a gift certificate).

Stopped in to see what was available in a handgun for personal protection while hiking. Neil listened to what I had to say and asked the right questions to get us started. The first gun was a little too stiff on the rack for my grip/wrist strength and was a little small in my grip. He brought up the S&W M&P Shield EZ 9mm Luger. It felt like an extension of my arm the from the first grip. It’s the perfect gun for my needs, small enough to handle but powerful enough to mean business. Neil got me set with a box of ammo and we were out the door to go test her out. Thanks Neil and Mazama!

Mazama is hands down the best gun store in Eugene/Springfield area. The selection is top notch. Especially for building an AR. Accessories galore. Great selection of firearms. All of the guys are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I don’t shop anywhere else when it comes to firearms. Supporting a local store who does more for our 2A rights than any retail giant is important to me. They also have a bunch of fishing, outdoorsy stuff. But I cannot speak on that. We couldn’t be luckier to have this store in our community.

Bought a gun, jewelry, and a stuffed veteran bear (named Bill)...how does it get better! It was so nice to walk around the store and see things I hadnt noticed before. If you have ever bought a gun legally then you know the process takes a MINUTE. My toddler had a blast and left with a toy and mama left with one too!!!

Went into this place or the first time the other day. One guy was very friendly, but couldnt answer my questions in regards to optics for a hunting rifle I had (no big deal), so he had some kid come over to assist me. Well, to put it bluntly, this kid was a total jackazz that had no interest in helping me. I feel like I could not have gotten him to take my money if I shoved it down his throat. As a local business owner, I would be furious if someone working for me let a sale go out the door the way this young man did. Honestly, I wanted to give a 1 star review, but this message is more to let the owner know that he has a problem employee that I wont describe because as a business owner myself, I believe in addressing all employees about this type of stuff. Not everyone walking into the place is there to buy Glock or an AR. You still have to answer redundant questions about boring hunting stuff for old farts like myself.

This store has very knowledgeable staff members that are all friendly and happy to help. They carry a large variety of firearms and what they dont stock theyre more than willing to order in for you (theyve done so for me). They will also allow you to put a deposit and hold down on any of the firearms. The prices are competitive and the store is locally owned. Ive purchased 3 guns there and i would definitely buy from them again.This store also carries fishing gear of all kinds but Im not into that so i have no knowledge of their fishing section.

They also respond to email within 24 hours, which is super awesome.I bought accessories for my rifle and I cant wait to stop back in to get my rifle when it arrives (FFL transfer). After the excellent service I received, Ill be buying my next gun directly from them.

Ive been in this store many times in the last 6 months. These guys are great!! Ive had a ton of questions, and they have helped me find the right concealed carry gun for ME! They have been patient and spent time answering question after question, sharing their experiences, and giving me great ideas. I bring my son in with me every time I come in and they are never annoyed with him. They all talk to him and he loves watching the big game videos on tv. I bought my gun from them, ammo, extra mags, and speed loader. When they didnt have something I was looking for they directed me to someone who could make it for me. When I had an issue with a new mag, it was traded out no problem. They will definitely be keeping my business!!!!

I gotta give credit where credit is due.I found the barrel nut my AR -15 loose at home one day recently and realized I needed a shim or 2 to to properly tighten and time it.Mazamas said they have some in stock over the phone and to come on down. So I did, and I met Steve. Steve was very helpful and patient with me getting my rifle back to working order. He provided materials and tools to do the job properly when I lacked them. He was knowledgable and answered questions I had, even about topics we were not working on thay day.It was a great experience that I deeply appreciated.

Was recommended to have a rifle shipped to them for FFL. Free floating handguard was cross threaded from factory. Manufacturer sent a new set and the staff (i believe Erin was his name) installed it without charge even though i offered to pay. Extremely professional, friendly, and i will be going there from now on! Thanks for going above and beyond, you just got my patronage for a long time.
