My husband and I have been buying cars from them for years, up until now. We made a purchase in March. The truck started having brake problems and other problems. We have always trusted them with good reliable well inspected cars. We know Victor is no longer managing, he retired. He made sure things were done right. I don’t know what the new manager’s name is, but he is doing an awful job. His cars are no longer being well inspected. People come out of the area to buy up here. DON’T do it‼️ You might end up getting a lemon. It’s sad to say, but I don’t think they care anymore. They have great employees, but I’ve heard how he bosses employees around and many of the people that use to work there have had to move on because he’s so demanding! I felt I need to share this because it’s just not right!
On time appt., courteous service folks and clear explanation of costs. I thought I needed additional services but service rep. showed me the cars history & it had already been completed on the last service. NICE SURPRISE.
They did not care to help us at all. They have very little cars to choose from. It was bad experience all the way around. Sales person arrogant withered either take it or leave it price. No working to help us in a car whatsoever. Would never go back.
Great experience at this car dealership. Impeccable service In the service department from Nate! From scheduling to follow up and fixing my vehicle promptly, Mid City gets 5 stars. Customer satisfaction is important & these guys go above and beyond. Mark (I think that is his name :) in the service department is also great.
We purchased a RAV4 Prime and got good help at Toyota sales.
First time going there to purchase a car, had a horrible experience! I have always heard horror stories about Mid City but thought maybe it wasnt that bad. Well,.... the first guy I spoke with was friendly and very helpful but he had an appointment show up so he had asked his coworker to help me. The second guy wasnt so friendly, also didnt show as much interest as to what I was looking for. He was actually kind of rude, very dry sense of humor. To make a very long story short, I was offered an insulting trade in amount on my vehicle, with no movement on the vehicles price I was interested in. I found it very disappointing that Mid City was so unfriendly and non accommodating to their potential customers, like I was begging to have the sale. I decided to go back to a dealership where I felt appreciated. Do yourself a favor and DONT COME HERE
Great prices and great staff
Took me right in without an appointment when my car was experiencing an issue, took care of it and got me back on the road quickly!
Good service just slow
Quality car service for my ageing Corolla.
Just bought the car of my dreams from Hillori! She made the entire process smooth and simple all while getting me a great deal!Feeling safe and grateful in my new car...Thanks so much you guys!
Very Helpful and Courteous excellent Service all that a person could Ask for !
Went in to buy a vehicle. Found one. Started to make the deal. They offered $4000 less than BlueBook trade in value. Showed them the Kelley BB print out. Oh, we dont use mileage (extremely low) as a factor and we used Good for the condition (even though it was Very Good to Excellent). So, are you going to adjust it to correctly reflect the true value of the vehicle? Nope.
A vehicle was advertised before it was available to be sold.I have been waiting 7 solid days to see and test drive the vehicle and it is still not available.Don’t waste your time.
I had a wonderful experience at Mid City Motors. The staff was super friendly. Austin was very helpful! He made sure the process went smoothly and answered all of our many questions. I would highly recommend this dealership.
They save me almost $2000 by getting Honda to cover a service that I would have had to pay for because I was about 900 miles past the warranty. Super grateful for Josh and his team!
Good customer service
They didnt have what we were looking for. They are known as a hassle free dealership. Except here you pay full MSRP or get out.
Got a great deal on tires for my Camry. Buy 3 and get the 4th for $1.00! Balance, repair flats, and rotate free of charge for life of tires. Great customer service!
The salesperson was so nice, and seemed really thrilled that she was able to get us into a good car when we thought that nobody else would finance us. The whole staff was pretty friendly, and it seemed like a mellow work atmosphere, which made for a pleasant car buying experience. They also had a decent selection of used cars, so we even ended up with more options to choose from than we thought wed have. Id definitely recommend this place to anyone else whos in need of a reliable vehicle, and wants to save themselves from the stress of checking everywhere.
My dad bought a vehicle from here a few months ago and the brakes were faulty and locked up on him for no apparent reason. He took it in and told them what happened and they tried to make him pay for the service that shouldve been done before he purchased the vehicle. I went in to have my car serviced and told them I had purchased a contract for services through a Lythia elsewhere and that I was supposed to get free oil changes from other Lythia dealerships. Not once did they tell me they we not a Lythia dealership and processed to tell me I needed other services that would have totalled near $600. I said I only wanted the free oil change I shouldve received the contract I had with Lythia. They continued to do the oil change and charged me without letting me know they arent a Lythia dealership.
Hugo is a wonderful employee there, he helped my mother in law buy her new car. He came through the doors as soon as he saw us walking through the parking lot. He was friendly, wasnt pushy like a few salesmen we have delt with in the past and gave us a great deal. If you choose here to do your car shopping ask for Hugo, you wont be disappointed!!
Great customer service
On Tuesday we were on our way home from Redding. There was a work truck from Mid City Motor towing a new truck down to Eureka. They were behind us but soon passed us. The way they were driving was very unsafe, speeding constantly, swerving into the other Lane on turns (leaving tire marks from the trailer). One point they even went into the other Lane and were going to pass a line of cars (where it was not safe). They put alot of lives in jeopardy to just end up at the same road construction stop as everyone else. I hope this can be addressed with your driver. A truck towing another truck should be going slower not faster then all the other vehicles.
Visiting family and all of a sudden the check engine light on my Toyota came on. They warned me it could take two hours to deal with it, but 30 minutes later they had me on the road so I was very happy with the results of my visit. The waiting area is well stocked with coffees and snack machines.
It wont post without one star, so one star under duress. Really zero stars.Your car will be worse off when you leave than when you arrived.I had to go to this dealership for a safety recall item. They allegedly fixed it, but a warning light related to the recall came on the dash almost immediately after they allegedly repaired it.I brought it back to them. They CHARGED me for this second time back. After they worked on it again, within 2 days the light was back on.I went back. My third trip. Do I live here? They again wanted to charge me for taking care of something they failed to fix the last time. My car never had this problem before I went to Mid-City.The service manager, Jeremy, was as arrogant and useless as can be. His attitude was that they were the only dealer in the county. He refused to take care of the problem. ZERO customer service. ZERO help. ZERO incentive to ever return to these incompetents.Run away from these useless car-damaging bozos. They dont know what theyre doing and they are quite willing for you to suffer as a result. And they will charge you for their incompetence.
The measure of a car dealership is there sales and service departments. These guys have the best of both. This dealership runs like a top and they have some of the best minds in the car business. A great place to buy a Toyota or a Honda or any other vehicle and expect great results.
Sales people are great. Service department is AWFUL. Takes a long time to get an appointment and then they find nothing wrong. Today it happened again...tech cant find anything wrong. The auto-headlight sensor is not working...lights stay on in bright sun and dont come on when you drive into dark areas. Last time they wouldnt fix the glove compartment problem my husband contacted Honda directly and it was immediately fixed. He had to take time off of work and take their shuttle etc. so it was a big hassle for nothing. The car is under warranty so how big of a hassle would it be to replace a sensor and fix the problem? I guess the first time they just dont do anything in hopes that youll just go away or have it done somewhere else! Cost effective for them......
Amazing customer service and really helpful! I highly recommend working with Hillori Graham she listened to what we needed and helped us so much and got us a even better vehicle than what we went there for and helped us get all set up and was so kind and understanding. Thank you Hillori for everything! My kids and I absolutely love our new van!
More expensive than other Honda service facilities, I dont use them unless its an emergency. BUT they do good work, the service department staff are above average!! They go above & beyond for customer satisfaction.
My girlfriend and I have each bought several new cars from mid city. even though Toyota and Honda sell them selves the staff is always helpful.
Very professional and helpful.
Service department is professional and courteous.
The salesman that I got was pretty polite and didnt talk too much. Im pretty sure thats why I bought a car here. Other than that its a used car lot(some new) what more can you ask for.
I had been searching for a car all week at various dealers in Humboldt when my sister reached out to Hillori at Mid-City She offered to come pick me up at the coop and I felt at ease right away. Hillori was warm, smart, and didnt pressure me. As a woman, I felt very comfortable under her care and we sealed the deal quickly! The atmosphere at Mid-City was relaxed and friendly and I feel they will all look after me and my car for years to come! Thank you Hillori for a wonderful experience 😊🙏👍
Amazing service! My service advisor was very polite, proffesional and got everything done in a timely manor which was greatly appreciated. This place has a very positive atmosphere and the staff is very helpful. Will be coming back soon.
I want to thank Ell in particular for being such a great help to me. I showed up there on a Saturday with maybe 30mins before the placed closed to test drive one of their Toyotas. I had my infant son, my sister and her partner and the team at Toyota Mid City made us feel welcomed. No rushing, no egos, no pushing, just nice conversations about life and the car I was interested in. This was my last stop of the day, should have been my first, earlier in the day I was met with the most arrogant guy at Northwood Chevrolet whom just made our experience unpleasant. Not very knowledgeable about the car I was interested in and despite me having cash in hand, no one there seemed to be very motivated to make a sale. I felt as though they had a prejudice towards a single woman with an infant, whom had the knowledge and money to make a sound choice without being taken for a ride, no pun intended. So I finally made my way to Mid City World, Toyota lot and our experience was completely different. My sales guy Ell made us feel like we knew him already. Truly a nice person, everyone there treated us with respect, positively and were very helpful. Ell even stayed after they closed to show me how to work some of my new features in the car I bought. Yes, I went to buy a car that day! Save yourself the hassle of pushy, incompetent jerks at other places. Go to Toyota Mid City World everyone there was great! A+ you guys, thank you for making this a positive experience for my son and I. :)
Took my car in to tell them that I pulled 3 wires out of a plastic clip and charged 140 to diagnose the problem? And 250 to put the wires back in. We found the problem, you pulled 3 wires out, that will be 390.00
Because I work here
Good & quick service! Getting a new battery in key button & checking if my car had a way to get it to beep when locks.
Nice people
We tried again to do business with them, found out that dealing with them wasnt any better than before.Had a new sales guy, young, he really didnt have enough experience, he seemed to be going in many different directions. Basically wanted us to do his work then try to match it.Our confidence was poor with the whole experience.
I have had my car serviced at this location before, but today when I (stupidly at my own fault) ran out of gas I was so relieved to be able to safely pull into the parking lot here - until the gentlemen behind the counter informed me that they would not be able to sell me even one gallon of gas. Thats cool, thats not the service that they provide, but when I called roadside assistance I was told that I would have to pay cash for the gas that was brought to me, so I explained my situation and asked the receptionist if there was an ATM on the premises that I could use. She said no, but was kind enough to ask her bosses - who then told me that they would be unable to accommodate my request unless I had a check book with me. Who the hell writes checks these days?! My day was saved by the very kind receptionist _Katie_ who, and Im putting this in all caps because she deserves it - GAVE ME TEN DOLLARS FROM HER OWN WALLET. THIS WAS A 20-SOMETHING MILLENNIAL WHO GAVE HER LAST $10 TO ME, A 40-SOMETHING WHO SHE HAS NEVER SEEN BEFORE. This review would have been zero stars if not for Katie, the kindest most awesomest receptionist ever.
Bought a truck, the guy Austin was really nice and they have bagels and water and coffee for free and they have vending machines. I think they might have WiFi too.But my used vehicle I bought wasnt clean on the inside or outside
I have nothing but praise for their service department. Last week I was there, out of state, and had a small accident. I was ignorant of what damage had been done, and I was in a hurry to get back on the road. Knowing all this, they could have told me ANYTHING, but they were scrupulously honest and walked me through everything, pointing it all out to me there in the bay. The mechanic encouraged me NOT to get certain things fixed, or to wait to fix them after I got home to someone I knew. He did just what was necessary to get my car road-worthy again. They were so polite too, taking me without an appointment. SUPER AWESOME PEOPLE!!!
Tricked my friend that I helped buy a car with into buying a useless 100$/month insurance policy. The policy covered almost nothing and what it did cover is definitely not what would break. Cost her 700$ and got 0$ out of the insurance policy. In addition they (Mike the financial person) touted that they had the lowest service/repair prices in the area. Completely wrong, the price for parts (JUST PARTS) of an oil change was 5$ more than a competitor in Eureka where their price covered parts and service.-Pricey-Will trick you with a smile on their face (morallymuddy business tactics)-At least they smile?
I go here all the time for an oil change and at Christmas I actually received a $25 off any service gift card!! The people here are really nice and very helpful.
Bought a Honda here. Great staff who didnt push us. Went in for service and they adjusted scheduling after an error in appointment. The service rental system isnt awesome but works.
I built my Toyota Tacoma on the Toyota website. Showed up to Mid city the next for an appointment, signed paperwork And drove away. Easy pezy, no upselling, no pressure..The website will get you to buy more options, but you wont regret it.. I didnt know how much I needed a bed step, but Everytime I try to waddle my big butt in the bed, im sure glad its there..
I am not found of taking my car to a dealer but we had to get recall work done. This dealer is very organized and the work on the car was done quickly and efficiently.
Great experience buying a nice used car.
Service reps take far too long to greet and take keys
Took my Prius with fewer than 10,000 miles in for service and got it back with multiple problems it did not have when I brought it to them. Now, only 200 miles later the vehicle says “overdue for maintenance “.
Ordered a part and they had it they next day. Get my maintenance done here and usually dont have any issues. Did receive regular pill instead of synthetic one time...
It took them a week and cost over $1000 to not even fix the whole problem with my husbands truck. We got it back with no gas either.Very disappointed, thought they were high class and worth the extra money I was so wrong.
The worst. They spent two hours diagnosing a broken handle on my hatch. Put everything back together without getting a hold of me and wanted to then charge me for that labor again to actually fix the problem. $200 later, nothing fixed and honestly there is zero sign of them doing ANY work at all. That place is awful stay far far away. I would have had more fun flushing my money down the toilet.
This place is horrible, never service your vehicle here! They kept adding on costs and fees and made up work that did not even need to be done! They are way over priced for getting any work done on your vehicle!!! Horrible customer service too! Also needed a new key which was ridiculously expensive, I found that Ace Hardware in Arcata makes both types of keys and clickers that they can program into your vehicle by plugging in device in your vehicle for 50% cheaper!!!!!
Not sure why lots of peeps are sh*tting on this place. I brought my pre owned Tacoma here for a leaf spring recall issue. Quick, efficient and professional. Have a major service scheduled in a couple weeks and I will update this review once its done.Update: Dropped off truck Tues of Thanksgiving week. Check in was efficient and I was able to piece together different options for the service (they called it a la carte). They caught a failing water pump before it was a big deal. Had my truck the next morning. I have had it back for over a week since the service and its running great!
Ive been coming here for 15 years and bought 5 vehicles from them and always have been treated excellent. I use the shuttle when I bring my vehicle in. Thank you
I am embarrassed that I did not do my research ahead of time and discover the multitude of poor reviews warning this dealership is an absolute joke.I brought my Honda CRV in for a diagnostic as it seemed to be having a difficult time climbing hills. I was told this was an issue with the catalytic converter and it needed to be replaced. It came with a hefty price tag, but I blindly trusted a Honda dealership thinking they would be the best ones for the job... massive mistake on my part. I put down a $400 deposit and they assured me my car would be fixed the following Monday, as they were aware I was leaving for a trip on Wednesday which they warned would be dangerous mileage to put on the car without the repair.Once my friend arrived on Monday at the scheduled appointment time to drop my car off for me, they said they werent sure if the part had arrived yet... and tried to argue she had the appointment time wrong although it was clearly written on the calendar behind Angela, the service advisor we were dealing with. 5 hours later I received a phone call from Angela telling me another repair for some bolts needed to be done, which would cost another $600, and 2 more days in the shop waiting for the other parts to come in. I was upset that this rusted bolt wasnt observed during the diagnostic and anticipated as a potential issue, and therefore ordered along with the catalytic converter. They said it would arrive by Wednesday and to reschedule for that day... although they were entirely aware that was my departure date. When I passed this along to my friend to go pick my car up, she called to schedule her shuttle and ONLY THEN Angela decided to reveal that my vehicle had this broken bolt actually stuck in my exhaust pipe, and as a result was making loud noises and my car was unsafe to drive. Why this information was not divulged to me, the vehicle owner, is beyond me... Angela had encouraged me to leave my car with them for my convenience and did not disclose that they had caused this damage. I had swapped cars with my friend because she lives in town and I do not, and when she came to pick it up (as she has a life to live as well and needed transportation), the check engine light had come on. My car was clearly in worse condition than when it had been dropped off... and I was being charged for their mistake?! On the phone I had expressed my hesitancy to even have this replacement done by Mid City Motors anymore, and Angela responded that I would still owe them for the time they took to break off and lodge this bolt into the exhaust pipe. Apparently my $400 deposit didnt cover their time for that brilliant mechanic work.Due to my planned departure date, I ended up not even taking my car on the trip, (a huge inconvenience especially after they assured me it would be done by then) and made an appointment for when I would return. After the bolt and catalytic converter were replaced, my bill was twice as much as it should have been. My friend had a conversation with an employee there while she waited for the car, who told her their service was abhorrent and he would never bring his vehicle to be serviced there... one of their own employees!! My check engine light was still on, and I had to sit on the phone with them once again to learn that the light had come on while they were working, and the air fuel ratio sensor now needed to replaced.... another $500. Again, why this was not communicated at the time of pick up, I do not know.Mid City Motors is taking complete advantage of every customer that walks through their doors, and coasting by because of Hondas reputation. I am infuriated with their customer service, their mechanical work, and the outrageous cost of this pathetic experience. I implore you to look elsewhere to have your car serviced. I am kicking myself for not doing so. If I were any Honda employee, I would be ashamed to have any association with this dealership. It really is too bad zero stars isnt an option. How their average rating comes out to 3.3 stars is a mystery... must be an inside job.
Ive purchased both of my vehicles from Mid City and have had nothing but good experiences with them. They were able to get me out of a bad situation with my old car and get me into my new Tundra. I still use them for all my service needs and really love the Express Lube service they have for oil changes.
Fantastic customer service, products and love the waiting room coffee!
The service was excellent and the staff friendly.
Service okay, nice shuttle if you get your car serviced. Other than that, the salespeople are pushy, the customer servicer people dont seem like they want to help anybody, and its even in a strange location. Meh. If it wasnt the only place to get a Toyota, I would never go there.
Oil change and recall repair, fast, efficient, and reasonable, plus friendly people.
Every time I have been there those guys treat me well!
TERRIBLY DISORGANIZED……..Buying from them was a complete and total cluster. I did not know who my finance company was for two months, no payment due, no communication. Then when I took the car back to have the due bill service done to it I had to speak to three different people in the service department (Angela? Was quite rude, but not as rude as the sales lady Stephanie) I have no idea how she makes a living selling cars. After two days and multiple answers about my car I found out they have an outsourced company “that will come to you” do some of their work and he will “be in touch”. After all that I can guarantee no one in my family will purchase from there ever again and any warranty work will be done at another shop, this place is a mess and needs some serious management attention.
After being told everything was all ready to go, we got the jack around and left with nothing. A wasted almost 4 hour drive round trip.
Its great that they offer a shuttle service to wherever you want and were nice. I have used them for a while for maintenance and they were really accurate about the time and pick up.
Absolutely love the customer service. We have bought several cars from them and will continue to buy our cars from them.
A friend of mine was having car troubles with her Honda crv. She made an appointment to get a diagnostic test done. I went with her because she lives 2 hours South of this place and I live locally. When we went to pick up the car, the service advisor Angela stated the catalytic converter needed to be replaced...okay makes sense..car is about 8 years old. We have had plans for months to attend a music festival in Oregon for months but was unsure if the work could be done by then. Angela assured us the work would be done in time, after listening to our private conversation about what to do. I wanted to take it for a second opinion but we were running out of time. We decided to go with mid city motor world to fix it because Angela made us feel assured it would be taken care of. When I arrived at 11am for the appointment, Angela didnt even check to see if the part was in and told me she wasnt sure. This was the first sign...how are you not going to check for your appointment before arrival? She stated my appointment was at 1130 am but clearly had my friends name on her schedule board in the 11am slot. Part was found and I was on my way in a shuttle back to Arcata. Which I have to state the older gentleman driving the shuttle was very nice and I give him a personal 5 stars. Hours later Angela calls my friend to tell her there were some problems. First off Angela literally had no idea what was actually wrong. She states the nuts were rusted and broke off and therefore we need to order a new part for $600 more dollars and it wont be in until Wednesday. Leaving us with no idea what happened..plans for leaving Wednesday morning to Oregon were potiently crushed and no real reason why they couldnt figure this out Hours before they closed. Their shuttle was stuck in traffic, the shop was about to close, and I was very concerned and upset at how they handled this situation. I arrive to the dealership after 5 pm to figure out whats going on and to take the car. Angela proceeds to tell me a rusted bolt came off and was lodged into the exhaust pipe and the vehicle was making loud noises and was not safe to drive, and we were responsible for paying for the work because their tech is obviously not trained properly. ( just want to add Ive worked with and for dealerships and body shops my whole life and never had this much trouble ) Well at this point I lost my cookies and demanded to talk to her manager because just a week before the car was diagnosed for this problem but was clearly never looked at only ran their computer equipment which costs $150 for them to plug in The car to The computer and read a sheet that comes out..never once looked under the car. The service manager, who looked like he literally did not care and that Im a dumb little girl look on his face couldnt tell me why his tech didnt catch this during the diagnosis. He stated it happens all the time with rust and its a popular part that is needed all the time replaced. Um okay? Your a Honda certifed shop and this happens all the time..why does it take 3 days to order a part? Shouldnt you have it in stock? No answers for me. Its a real shame my friend had to put a deposit down on work that couldnt be done in a timely fashion, over paid for horrible service, and no help or remorse from any of the employees here at Mid City Motor World. I highly recommend never coming here for service or to buy a car because they dont care about anything but the money going into their pockets. Bunch of crooks.
These people did not seem interested in selling a car to me at all. It took almost an hour before someone helped me & they barely helped. I ended up buying a different car from a different dealer the same day, but Im disappointed with my experience.
If it wasnt for Josh in service I wouldnt go here period. That guy is on it and actually makes a good effort to help the people.
Service was good. But the repairs took longer than expected.
Bought 2 new cars from here. Great service.
I have never been so disappointed with a purchase/the process as i am with Mid City. I purchased a Toyota 4runner from them last week. I had called mid city about 1 week before it arrived and asked to speak with the Costco rep. I thought i was going through the Costco representative, but now i find that they did not give me that person. Overall process up to this point was fine, the man that showed me the car was very nice. This Monday i took it in to have a Perma plate put on. When i picked it up i went straight home. As i got out of the vehicle in the sunlight it had swirl scratches throughout the entire vehicle. I immediatley took it back and had a business manager document that he as well saw the scratches. I went home emailed the owner my concerns and that i needed it handled promptly. After 24hr of no contact i called Costco for some assistance. It turns out i was not given the costco representative and not given the costco deal i should have been given. I just assumed since i asked for the rep when i called midcity they gave me one, however it was not. Costco called the owner for me and has been amazing and supportive in helping me through this. Then the owner called me asking me to bring it in, which i did (yesterday). When i showed up their was about 5 men standing waiting to see the vehicle. Not one of them introduced themselves to me and they started examining the car. When the owner (Dan Harper) showed up he asked me why i had to call costco (he was in my face where i actually had to step backwards). I explained to him that i had not herd back and i reach out to someone who would help me. He tried to explain that black cars show scratches and even wanted to show me another black vehicle that looks the same. I stated to him either it was scratched before they had it and the perma plate brought the scratches out or it was scratched during the process. either way his employees could not have missed it they are all over. He said in my face very rudely, so you are unhappy and i said yes. They then stomped away and another man came out and said they would cancel the whole deal. They wouldnt offer me a new vehicle, or even the offer to fix it (which i wouldnt have excepted anyways). They said they wont sell me another car. I am still in shock that this actually happened in such a small community. Moral of the story is, dont go to mid city EVER (families find other carosols to ride). And if you are planning to by a car with a costco deal ASK for proof. Very sad:(
Ask for Austin Alley, he is pleasant and knowledgeable to work with.We have purchased three vehicles through him.
Very nice people
Great family owned local company
No customer service, no urgency, no consideration for customers. Im very disappointed with Mid City. Be careful with the extended warrantees they offer, theyre a joke!
I went to get my bolts for the from drive line for a 99 Ford f359, the end that connects to the transfer case uses a 12 point bolt they had the wrong ones waiting for me so it was lucky for me I knew what I was looking for and corrected then and got the right part before going home with the wrong ones, so make sure you know what you are buying or take the old one with you so you get the correct parts
Today I went to buy Mazda Parts and learned despite Google believing they Mid-City is Mazda parts store I was told, We dont do that anymore. Havent for years.
A great to shop for Honda, Toyota, and Ford.
Nice service department, very professional.
They took good care of our car,
Tim lies and has shady business practices.
I take my car there all the time its not a toyota but it get done and fast
Kids love the horse ride
