I have been to a lot of dealerships and I can say my experience with these guys has been amazing. Whether its in sales or in service, you are treated like a person first and a customer second. They also sell online through Wholesale marine. Bought a boat cover though wholesale marine with Hern Marine Distributors on the pack slip. Even though it’s a guaranteed fit this cover is worthless and doesn’t fit for ..... now no one wants to exchange or help out. Maybe in person they are helpful, but their online businesses are?Should have gone through a reputable outfit. Wasn’t the first time I was ripped off by a company and won’t be the last, but if this helps you make a decision on who to work with your welcome.
Hands down the the absolute best!!! As new boat owners, we weren’t sure of what to expect when shopping for the right boat. The team at Hern took the time to walk us through all of our options and explain in detail the difference between them. After making the decision, they were able to store the boat until the weather turned and even delivered it to our location. Upon drop off, we were escorted by David on the water where he explained in detail everything until we were comfortable on our own. We’re extremely pleased with every aspect of the process. Hands down Hern marine is the only place to buy a boat, buy accessories and have your boat serviced. I boat in lake Cumberland and pull my boat home just to have it serviced by Hern. The service team is hands down the best in the business, they are very professional and know what they are talking about. Travis in service is the best I have ever dealt with, he has gone up and over my expectations as a service tech.Chris who handles the sales of accessories is another who is very helpful when looking for items and finding the best options for your boat.January 2021 was my first time buying a brand new boat. I said I would never buy a new boat but dealing with Wes and Ron at Hern made my decision very easy. I walked in to get accessories for my current boat, struck up a conversation with Wes about a boat that caught my attention. After 30 minute conversation we had set up a test run at Caesars creek, when I arrived Ron had joined us on the run. The amount of time they gave my family and I to explore the boat and ask questions was unbelievable, the knowledge they have and the way they explain it is super professional. Less than honest. On phone shows a blue Nitro and we get there and its red. Clearly Not the same. The one advertised was newer looking and so much cleaner. But in there defence it was the same year and a Nitro .( So they say)( 🤔 my option)

Wes was fantastic to work with. Given the situation of our delivery being delayed due to Covid, he always kept us up to date with information and answered every question we had. I found Hern Marine searching through wake boat listings and reviews online. I was very much leaning towards Centurion boats as they seemed to check all the boxes of quality build, functional design, and class-leading performance. I set up an appointment to look at it and met Wes. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to make a fair deal for both of us. He could not have been more helpful with the whole process. We set up an on water demo and were joined by the owner as well. Ron was a super guy and you can tell right away that he loves being on the water. They both explained all the basics and walked me through setting up all the features. I walked away with an Fi23 that has performed flawlessly thus far! I mean, who doesn’t want to surf a 4.5’ tall wave all day long! On top of that, they have been available to answer all of my questions as they’ve come up. Looking forward to a long partnership. I can’t see myself buying anything other than another Centurion at this point!
Poor customer service!After purchasing a HOSPORT 3 person tube (over a $300 purchase) from Hern Marine. I rode for 10 minutes on the boat, and the tube shot me in the face the entire time, as there is only one way to use it, and realizing the tube is too thin. I called Hern and explained the situation and they will not take a return, even though I would have purchased a different (thicker, more reputable brand) in exchange.

I have had a leak on my outboard for 4 years and a different dealer could never diagnose the issue and/or come up with excuses which make no sense (leftover residue from manufacturing process, oil from different boat, etc.). After several years of working with them, I gave up and went to Hern Marine. They were able to diagnose the issue within 2 hours of me dropping off the boat. I was shocked and pleased that they were able to find it quickly and fix it. I would highly recommend Hern Marine, if you have any issues with your Mercury engine.Aside from that, the customer service is very friendly and will no doubt go out of their way to ensure you have a satisfying experience.

Bait and switch. Found a boat we wanted, told the salesman we would be there inn30 min to get it. Did the paperwork and at the very end he cones back and said someone else bought it 15 min ago. Now the origional salesman did try to fix it, by doing a bait and switch on those people and do to them what was done to us. We said no, dont screw them too, and purchased elsewhere that day.When I asked to speak to.the owner, he got scared, ran out the back and left, then called on the phone.
My family has been considering purchasing a boat for a couple years. When we narrowed down our requirement for what we needed, we began looking at options. Hern Marine was one of those options.Of course we began looking more during the quarantine from COVID-19, so being able to physically see the boats was a challenge. The owner, Ron, was incredibly responsive in arranging an appointment for my family to take a look. When we arrived, they had a salesman, Wes, who was designated to show us the features of the boat we wanted as well as give us alternatives to help us decide.I like change and have owned/purchased 10-15 different cars in the past 10 years, so dealing with Salesmen can be aggravating to say the least. What I will say, is this was easily my best experience...ever. Wes not only showed us everything, but told us why some boats may be better, worse, overpriced for what our needs were, and never gave a “you ready to do this” punchline.I asked if the price was/is what was advertised on the ad I saw, and he brought me a price, that was not only better than the ad, but made themMore competitive than almost every dealer. Mind you, I went home, did my research and was willing to have the boat shipped across country if it was going to be the best deal. Some wholesale dealers were able to compete (barely), what they couldn’t do, was offer the same customer service.Wes provided me his cell phone number and responded immediately to all of my questions, concerns, and even offered above and beyond advice. Ron and Wes set up a sea trial, in April, brought all the gear for me to hop in water and ensure this is what we wanted.When we decided it was the boat for us and pulled the trigger (the next day) everyone from sales, financing, and technicians (during quarantine mind you) ensured we had what we needed and were happy. We took the boat out, and received follow up from Wes to not only make sure everything went well, but to see if we had questions or concerns that needed to be addressed.If you are in the Cincinnati area, or even outside of it, I highly recommend you give them an opportunity to earn your business. The true character of a business is not shown when things are going right. They are collecting fair pay for services or sales provided. This is how business works. The True character shows only when things dont go as planned.We purchased a new boat from Hern Marine in 2018. The staff was great! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. Their Boat Show pricing was aggressive. The experience was what it should be, fun and exciting!When the boat was delivered to the dealership in the spring there were some problems. We did not come to view the boat blindly. The service and sales departments had already gone over the boat and identified some imperfections. They reached out to us before we ever had a chance to see the boat. We much appreciated this gesture. We didnt feel like someone was trying to bully us or push us to call out the problems and ask for a correction. By the time we viewed the boat there was already a repair plan in process. The manufacturer was contacted and protocol was in place to repair the issues.Through the process we worked heavily with the Manufacturer, our salesman, and the service dept of Hern Marine. There were a lot of communications that took place. We were kept informed and up to date.At some points we thought that the service dept standards might have been higher than our own. It is refreshing to have a company represent you. It was clear through the whole process that Hern Marine was more concerned with satisfying us than its financial losses in the sale.At the end. We have the boat that we ordered and are very pleased! Thank you Hern Marine for all your efforts and patience with this sale.

I took my inherited bass boat to determine the problems that I have and what I might run into. They thoroughly explained the process and were very helpful and accommodating. I doubt it will be cheap to get my Skeeter up and running. It will be a couple of weeks until I hear from them.
I recently purchased a regency pontoon boat from Hearn Marine. The experience has been great. David Grimm, my sales consultant delivered the boat to my lake house in Kentucky and made sure we were totally comfortable with the operation and controls of the boat. VERY HELPFUL SALES STAFF Every time i go in there always welcome me in the parts department.Also they have the best prices on parts and many choices. Very knowledgeable staff there. I was lucky to have bought my boat here since they carry all the items you will need to repair my boat. I do have many years of mechanics training though. I am even thinking of having them do some other repairs.

I always feel like Im bothering somebody when I go to Hern. I bought my boat at Hern. I like the end product/service but anytime I go here theres at least 3 people standing around doing nothing while I wait in line. Last time I dropped my boat off at 9am on a Monday to get it shrink wrapped, seriously waited in line at the service counter for 30 minutes while there were 3 other people behind the counter doing nothing. One guy keeps walking back and forth, scanning the same can of fogging oil, going back to the shelf, scanning it again, then going back to the shelf. He seriously walked around me at least 3 times. He was not helping a customer. Then when I go to pick up my boat a week later, same scenario, bunch of people behind the service desk, walking in circles or leaning on the counter while there is a line of customers. Finally, when its my turn, the card reader isnt working for gift cards. The employees suggestion is that I charge it on my credit card, and then come back in a few days so they can use the gift card and refund my credit card. As if its my burden to bear when their technology doesnt work. In the end, Im happy with the end product, they did a good job wrapping my boat. On another ocassion, I called to see if they bought back boats. After talking to the buyer and explaining what I had and what I needed to get out of it, his response was, let me do some research, if you dont hear back from me in a few days, you can assume were not interested. Again, what kind of way is that to treat a customer? I would expect a call back no matter what. They really need to go back to the fundamentals when it comes to basic face to face service. ie, help the customers in front of you, then figure out the fogging oil mystery. Or figure out a back up plan for your gift card reader being down that doesnt place the burden on the customer. There shouldnt be anybody in the place leaning on a counter or just standing behind the counter doing nothing when there are customers waiting to be helped. I would also recommend more registers at the service desk coupled with employees who are better trained at using them. Bottom line is youll get a good final product, just be prepared for a less than satisfactory customer experience.
I have been buying parts and accessories for years- close to 20 probably. Hern has a great selection of items for boaters and in some cases they are the ONLY place to get what is needed. Their prices are actually very good compared to other local vendors, even compared to big stores like BPS. And their people know their products much better than the other guys. They are my go to boat store.
If youre looking to buy a boat, this place is great. Wes was our sales guy and he is phenomenal! Even after we purchased the boat, he was very responsive to any questions or issues we had. Most sales guys will make the sale and then youre on your own but not Wes. We had one issue where some bubbles in the gel coating cracked. He got us in quickly and updated us regularly until the boat was ready. When we decide to trade this one in for a bigger one, well be going to Wes. If he changes stores, well be changing too!

I am a regular parts customer. The people at The parts counter are second to none. I know I pay a little more to get the parts there but the knowledge and the friendly helpfulness of the people behind the parts counter make it more than worth it .My Searay turns 10 this year. It won’t be too much longer and I will be thinking about a new boat. Hern will be my first choice.

This is the first review I have ever written. I bought my new regal out of town this summer and needed local service. Everyone at Hern was very friendly. They went above and beyond to work with Fusion to fix my stereo when this isnt covered under warranty and I should have worked with Fusion to fix on my own. Also today when I picked up the boat I forgot a light was out. They stopped what they were doing, got the new part, and removed the old one and installed the new one. All for no charge ( part under warranty). Theyve earned my business going forward.
We stopped in trying to look at Pontoons in the market to buy one...we assisted ourselves in looking for 15 minutes...3 different employees walked by us and not ONE offered to help....terrible customer service!!!!
