Great place to buy farm supplies, or stuff for your garden. There is so fun stuff to do with the kids. Including a corn sand pit, a sand pit, a tube slide, some animals to look at and a big jump pad. Everyone was very nice and they have a small concession stand to hold you over and some homemade ice cream.
Great ice cream. Great for toddlers, not many activities if your kid is around 12 years old....great place to enjoy ice cream
Best ice cream in town. Gillis Hills Farm also has excellent customer service! You wont regret your visit.
Great for kids, feed the animals, get some ice cream, and play in the sand. It’s a quaint hidden gem for a quiet afternoon.
Ice cream shop is good. Theyve added a little shack in the back to charge 3 bucks for the walking tour. Added a bunch of swings, little play area, and cleaned it o a bit. Looking good!
Its a cute little place for kids 1-3 really didnt have that many animals but it was nice and the ice cream was good. Cant complain for $11
Oh my gosh these are so good! Of course we picked the hottest day of the year to visit but it was worth it! We are planning on having ice cream with our strawberries tonight! The people there are very kind and helpful. We plan on going back as long as there are fresh strawberries!
Its one of our favorite places to come in Fayetteville. Its a seasonal ice cream shop and produce store. You can walk the farm and look at the animals. They have a lake in the back as well as a small stage for small presentations. the people are always friendly the ice cream is delicious and its just an overall great place for kids and Families. Really grateful to have them around. Definitely come support this business!
Very nice! After driving by many times finally stopped and got some homemade ice cream! BUTTER PECAN! YUMMY! All the flavors are home made. They offer a few home baked items as well. When I walked in the cute little shop, it smelled heavenly! The smell of just baked pound cake! The ice cream was wonderful and a small is a very LARGE serving. The weather was dreary and there were still people stopping by for ice cream.A free farm tour (self guided) comes with the purchase of ice cream. It started sprinkling so I didnt follow thru with the farm tour but I will come back.Gillis Hill Farm is a Centurion Farm. How wonderful! If you dont live close by, IT IS WORTH THE TRIP.
It was nice, little kids loved it. Wish they had more animals though
This was my first time going strawberry picking which my kids and I did for my boyfriend’s birthday. I have lived in this area for 11 years and it’s the first time that I’ve been strawberry picking. I have been to Gillis Farm for their tours of the farm and have tried their home made ice cream but never strawberry picking. We want around 11 and it only took us about 30 minutes to fill out baskets up. It was $15 for 3 baskets. My boyfriend found some chow chow. My daughter got some of those home made flavored honey sticks. The strawberries were delicious and we enjoy the fresh products that they provided. They even had fresh watermelon as samples. The only thing is I wish they had a restroom and not just a porta-potty. There wasn’t a sink provided for us to wash our hands. I did have hand sanitizer so bring some with you if you go. People were friendly and I will definitely come back here next season. During the fall, they do have hayrides that I have been to. I do like their pumpkin patch and have been here like 4-5 times. Do give their home made ice cream a try. Several years ago I attended a haunted house and it was pretty good.
I love this place for fresh in season produce. Their prices are reasonable. The staff is always friendly. And their homemade ice cream is to die for! They only have ice cream for sale certain months of the year, but with a purchase of ice cream, you are free to tour the farm that is rich in local history. When in season, you can pick your own strawberries. And in the fall they have a cute pumpkin patch with hay rides! Fun for the whole family.
We loved it! Great ice cream and then took the little tour and visited the farm animals! My daughter loved it!
Love the visit have very nice animals in the gift shop is great its not that big so you can see the animals kind of fast 🌞🔆😊
Absolutely a wonderful place to visit! Enjoy delicious homemade pound cake and ice cream! Stroll the farm interacting with the animals! Children just LOVE the play areas!
My 2 kids had so much fun and enjoyed the animals and ice cream. We loved everything about this place, plan on visiting more and becoming regular cuatomers/guests.
I took my Grandson. First time for him seeing a farm. SUPER KID SAFE & Friendly. Nice place for family outdoor activity. 90% in the shade!
The family loves visiting this place! They love the ice cream and seeing the animals after! We try to visit at least 2-3 times a month!
If you’re new to the area, make sure you stop by this place. Best homemade ice cream in town! They have rocking chairs on the front porch and a seating area around the side where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. Also, they have a trail that leads behind the building that allows you to see all sorts of farm animals - horses, pigs, goats, chickens, cows, you name it. And it’s free! Fun activity for the whole family!
More for younger kids. The ice cream is good.
The Caramel apple ice cream was amazing
This was a great experience. Its so excellent to have a little bit of the country side right in our city. I loved going through the tour and seeing all the animals your little ones will love it. And their ice cream is amazing. But, they recently changed their rules to where free ice cream doesnt get you free admission however its still so worth it to do both!
The last time we went here it was primarily to get apples and got a great price on what they call deer apples (40lbs for $12). We were able to use 2/3 of them for applesauce and eating and the rest actually went to feeding deer. The corn is really good and although a little pricey we think it is worth it. The butternut squash is delicious and well priced. We live in the county south of Cumberland and have some overall better priced and stocked farm markets nearby but Gillis Hill does have some good deals on in season items and were the only local place we found mountain apples from western NC. This is the place for GREAT homemade jams, jellies, relishes, honey, sauces, etc. and even a selection of Amish as well as aloe products. It is definitely unique in the area, always making it worth stopping in to check out. If you want pumpkins they have plenty of them in the fall but it seemed they were mostly decorative. We are originally from up north where they grow long neck pumpkins which are the best for pies and they didnt have any of those. They have fun things for children in the fall too although it was raining when we were there and we didnt try it out. Gillis Hill Farm is worth making a trip to at least once and even if it is not a regular shopping spot you may, like us, find it worth stopping into occasionally to enjoy the variety they have to offer.
Staff was very nice and the farm was beautiful. Homemade ice cream was good, but the waffle cone was the best Ive ever had.
Cute farm. Disappointed in the ice cream. Strawberry from NCSU Howling Cow Creamery and strawberry from Gillis Farm is like night and day. This is probably the most bland un-strawberry like flavor Ive ever tasted. Should I return, I hope to try something else.
The ice cream was great! The tour is self guided and very low key. The views were really nice! My son loved the animals (they were super friendly) and we learned a lot about the history of the farm! Just FYI the path around the farm is washed away in some areas, so not very stroller friendly if anyone is thinking about bringing one.
Relaxing place to enjoy ice-cream with the kids. The employees were also very kind.
Ice cream is great. Having to pay $15 dollars($3 per person) to look at a goat and a chicken, when it used to be free is a little much.
Just stopped for ice cream and it was DELICIOUS!!! They make their own.
Ice Cream is delicious, for attraction not much to see.
The frealing ice cream is about fhe best thjng Ive ever put my mouth on get cookies and cream
Good place but pay $3 to see the animals. Is a little high. $1 maybe is ok but $3 no.
We had a great time and the waffle cones are made in house!! It was the best cone my husband has ever had. Kids loved it. We got cookies and cream, key lime pie and pineapple. All tasted great! We purchased gummy bears and jelly bean candy on the side for the kids to add to the cones. It was worth it! We ate ice cream on the porch in rocking chairs. Then walked through and pet and fed the animals. There was an old mill and pond view. The only downside is now our daughter wants a horse. Don’t only get ice cream, enjoy the farm.
Nothing beats gills hill farm and homemade ice cream is the best
Great social distancing our door fun. Very educational when doing the walking tour. Animal feed is only $1 and the animals are super friendly. Beautiful white horse. Eats right out of your hand. My toddler and preteen loved it.
It was so much fun. And the ice cream was great. Alot to do for kids. From hay rides to animals and even a little play area. I even went back just for some more ice cream!
Our favorite ice cream place!
I love there produce. Theres a place right near it that sells icecream and they have animals on the yard. Goat, horse and chickens lil basic farm animals so cute!!
Best ice cream and friendliest people around. I would recommend here to anyone who wants to spend time with some friends or family.
Amazing ice cream
Great 🍨 ice cream!!
Ok ice cream, and activities for toddlers...
Awesome farm for kids. Friendly staff and a good amount of animals to see.
School field trip was amazing! The hay ride was nice. The movie was heart felt. The little girl & her grandpa show n tell was adorable. Feeding the different types of animals was my favorite part.
Great I’ve cream choices and delicious. Fun experience and staff were super friendly.
I visited the pumpkin patch. The safety precautions are terrible. The snow cone vendor did not have on a mask or gloves. He was touching people’s cards and money and using those same hands to touch straws not wrapped in plastic and placing them in the snow cone. He was talking over the snow cone while making them. He was very nice but the COVID-19 numbers are rising. Majority of the customers didn’t have a mask on nor did he require it (he didn’t have one). There was no hand sanitizer for him or customers. No one had on a mask at the corn maze and social distancing was not in place or enforced. No wonder the numbers are going up in North Carolina.Very disappointed and probably will not be back until better safety precautions are put in place or the pandemic is over. Will get a COVID test to make sure I’m okay.
Great friendly service
Awesome place to visit. Their ice cream, cookies, and pound cake is delicious.
Delicious homemade ice cream for a great price! Definitely recommend it.
The ice cream is okay but I do love to support local businesses
Love love love this farm. Such a great place to go with your family. Ice cream is always a treat. Almost a new flavor everytime we go.
There were alot of things for the kids to do . The sand pit was my sons favorite. They have animals to feed . Icecream was yummy
Really fun stop for ice cream and a walk around the farm. They have animals you can feed sheep, horse, goats, cows, pig, and chickens. The ice cream is good but kind of pricey. I thought the baked goods were even better than the ice cream (get the cookie). There is a water mill and pond at the end of the property.
The homemade ice cream was sooooooo delicious!! Reminded me of family get togethers & churning ice cream!! Will go again to get some !!
This adorable, family-owned farm is pumping out fresh, handmade ice cream and waffle cones! *Drool* I had the key lime ice cream which tasted like a sweet, creamy, tangy, cold slice of summer heaven. Enjoy it on their patio lined with rocking chairs or take a walking tour of this history-filled property. Absolutely recommend!
We found this wonderful ice cream shop by accident. We were driving by and saw the sign for homemade ice cream. We went in and the wonderful smell of baking waffle cones met our noses; it smelled so good. They have several flavors of homemade ice cream. We got the butter pecan and cookies and cream. It was absolutely delicious. They have made a loyal customer of us. Its nice to be able to walk through the farm and see the animals.
Cool place to take young kids. They can see the animals, theres a little playground, and a an old Mill to check out. Just a neat place to spend an hour or so at.
Best Ice Cream
Delicious pound cake.
Went here a few weeks ago with the family and enjoyed ourselves. The ice cream was great. We also walked the farm. Will visit again soon, looking into going for the pumpkin patch.
Homemade ice cream and a farm to walk around as you indulge, brilliant! My family loves this place. Definitely a great one of a kind place to get a sweet treat.
Fun to bring your kids here. Getting the homemade ice cream is our favorite. We love to eat our cones and walk part of the farm. Strawberry picking, when in season, is awesome! And we cant wait each year for all of the fall fun stuff there. We get our firewood, and lots of produce here! Support local!
Yummy ice cream!
This place is great, the farm is wonderful and they have amazing ice cream. However, they recently updated their hours and it now closes at 8 o’clock. This is inconvenient, because many nights after dinner they’ve already closed, and with sports season and spring activities going on, it is hard to get over there and just have a cup of ice cream. But this place is amazing, definitely the best around.
Great local homemade ice cream! Get it in a dish or a homemade waffle cone. Fun for the entire family to walk around and see the sights of the farm or else just sit down and enjoy your ice cream. Excellent way to buy local and support a fun family-run business. Highest rating!
Ice cream was delicious, very pricey tho. But they market this business as a farm with animals when there are in fact very few animals. There is no place to sit, and it smells disgusting.
The environment is good to bring childrenAdults needs to visit to unwindThe ice cream are home made and tastyI love visiting Gillis Hill Farm
Had the pleasure of joining a school field trip and had a great time. The show put on for the kids was informative, but also very entertaining. The farm itself is clean and very pretty. The children enjoyed seeing the animals and also the tour. It was a pleasant day for the adults as well as the children.
We just picked up our Thanksgiving turkey from Andrew Gillis at Gillis Hill Farm and we are thrilled to enjoy a locally grown bird this year! We were able to explore the farm and dream. Its a magical place and we imagined weddings and events that would be fantastic. Well be back for ice cream and I cant wait to share this working farm with my Girl Scout troop. Get here if you can, its a great place to visit!
My boyfriend and I went to Gillis Hill Farm for some amazing ice cream!! We decided to tour the farm while we were there and had a blast!Im a country girl, so Ive been around farm animals but absolutely love them and want to see them all anyway! He is a city boy, nuff said! Haha He enjoyed petting the goats that came to the fence and just taking in the surroundings! We had a great visit and will definitely go again!
So much fun walking the trail and visiting all of the animals with my kids. The homeade ice cream was the best Ive ever tasted. The staff are all so nice and helpful.
